First OOC note: Gameplay

This game isn't going to run strictly on missions; you will find it can be a long time between your visits to Erioch. As such, for the purposes of EXP and Renown I will be carving things into mission blocks, but you may not have a briefing or requisition on every mission. You may find that your path is entirely up to you, though I will provide adventure seeds along the way.

When it so happens that Ordo Xenos/Deathwatch/the Inquisition does not set mission objectives for you, there will be a briefing thread made where you may nominate your own objectives and where I may clarify your surroundings. I will use this information to reward EXP and Renown.

At the same time you will be given a permanent inventory- gear that you accumulate along the way that is yours and does not have to be requisitioned from Erioch at the beginning of every mission. Currently your permanent wargear is your power armour, your power sword, and your bolter. Ammunition is considered extremely common (I mean the basic boltgun ammo), however there will be situations where it will be in limited supply. You will be forewarned of those situations.

Gotta say, I'm having a hell of a good time with this campaign. Really love the way you've executed the concept. The first post picking apart the team was rough. Damn.

I love this. Figured you ought to know.

Hard work, but fun! I was in a three-day long national meeting in a political party, you see! We were basically voting over the party program all weekend. Bit exhausted, but I'll get back in shape tomorrow!

So I was thinking about that +10 for Standard attack. It sounded right, but then it sounded off too. So I looked into it, and I have discovered why. Its a core mechanic for Only War and Black Crusade, but it has yet to be made effective in Deathwatch. I double checked the Errata. I will put a post up on Fantasy Flight to see if its going to be made a Deathwatch game.

Basically the +10 standard attack will stand for the duration of this battle. After that not again until I get some indication its a deathwatch rule.

Hi - I was looking through the posts and I'm unsure if you're taking any more players? Is this a single player game as the name implies? If not, can I post one to the character area?

Thanks!

That's up to the DM to decide! Personally, I'd be totally cool with a Battle-Brother at my side! :)

If you do get in, though, you might have to wait till the current mission's finished.

Dr xenon- technically its a single player game. But if rowgen is ok with I will work on injecting you into the plot line.

My only issue is that this game typically maintains at least 1 post per day, and action sequences can get as many as 4 or 5, and I like to keep things moving fast. If you feel like you can keep up you can roll up a character.

Read up on past missions to get to know some NPCs. Guys like Kharos, and soon Sarthol, will probably be coming up a lot.

Thanks!

I'm good with the posting pace. This is the only game I'm playing online. If I can't keep up please let me know by killing my character in some gruesome manner. I've read what you did to Tarlocke's original Kill Team brothers so I have faith in you.

I play Black Templars in 40K table top so will probably go that route, but I'm open to suggestions for Chapter and header if you think something in particular will serve better than an Assault Marine or another Tactical Marine.

I've played in a couple of short-lived DW games and a Dark Heresy campaign so I'm familiar with the rules.

Personally id like to see a librarian, but thats just my personal fascination with them. A BT assault or tactical would be fine. Tactical fits the kill marine roll better, but assault is a good flavour too.

The current mission will be ending soon. Get ready with a character for today or tomorrow. Your exp and renown will be equal to Tarlockes (currently creation + 1750)

I played a Psyker in the DH campaign and spent every session worried about Perils of the Warp! I don't think I have gambling spirit required.

I'll roll up a BT tonight.

Dr Xenon- I am about to end the current mission. Once your character is approved jump in to the Mission 3 Briefing.

Both of you- As far as role play goes, reply as much as you like. I put no limit on post frequency or having to wait for the other player before replying again. I also have no compunction about party splitting - that means if you don't want to go where the other guy wants to go, thats fine. I will create new threads with the Mission prefix, the mission title, and your character name. So if the two of you split, look for something like "Mission 4: Squat Rancher Party: Tarlocke" and post there. (Clarification: As of yet Mission 4 has nothing to do with Squat Ranching).

The only time we will be waiting on either one of you is when you are both involved in the same combat, and in that instance it will be waiting on initiative and actions.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Started my character sheet. Will be updating through the day. Hope to have it complete by 1:00 PM ET.
Alphajester -

I think I have the basics sorted out on my char sheet so it's ready for review. Its format isn't as fancy as Rowgen's bu thopefully it's clear.

I was going with the 1000 starter xp + 1750 catch up to Rowgen xp. Was that correct? Did I see Rowgen had another 1000 xp for Kill-Marine? Was I supposed to use that too? I put how I spent the Xp at the bottom of the sheet.

Kill marine is awarded by me post creation.

You should have creation exp plus 1000 plus 750. You may spend or bank the exp as you see fit.

I'm slammed at work today and can't work out my Requisition right yet. Will post this evening. Sorry for the delay.

OOC - Forgiven!

I got a bit inspired by a picture in the rulebook. Guess who.
