I might need a day or two extra to prepare - I did some thinking beforehand, but I didn't quite see this kind of group coming...

Preach, brother! Its all fun and games until the players get ahold of your plans and throw them out the window.
This is the way.Its all fun and games until the players get ahold of your plans and throw them out the window.
But I roll 1s.If I remember right, firearms in Pathfinder have a really sick x4 damage on their critical strikes. Makes rolling that 20 even more sweet.
It's either musket, pistol or blunderbuss, right? First instinct is to say pistol, but I think I'm fine with either choice.@Silanon What firearm do you want me to start out with?
That's correct. Would you prefer pistol? I'd be fine with any. But if I get a rifle I'm gonna call it my boomstick. Not quite sure, either, actually - curious... probably something obvious once you know it... (meant the su/ex stuff)

Can you tell me some about the lab? What he might have found? And how much black powder he would start with and if he would know the recipe.Either that, or you find a small-sized gun - not that unlikely, given some of the typical inventor races out there. Your choice - I like your version, though!
He'll be on the search for him - supposedly, the dragon lived in the Bastion; and for all the kobolds know, there shouldn't be anything around to threaten him. In the off-chance, you are to find whatever killed him and make a deal with it.As well! Would he be starting out looking for the good dragon? Or has he already met him?
If this is for the starting gold: I've got 'average starting money' as one point of the list for the character creation, I believe. Unless I forgot to copy that over.Testing my luck to see how it will fare this game. Rolling for gold.
150. Less than average start.
A relatively small former hut in the middle of nowhere. The chimney still stood, so did the workbenches, made of stone; the rest burned down in blazing flames, though likely years before you arrived. You found residues of alchemistical work, but no notes or anything like that. Strangely, the nature around the place showed no evidence of a fire. Within the chimney, wrapped in oil paper, was the gun - in whatever condition you prefer. A second bundle included black powder, as well as a set of small clay jugs that had its components separated. There were numbers on them, like those humans might use. They added up to a thousand, exactly. The rest, they say, is a story of tinkering by an unlikely creature. Can you tell me some about the lab? No worries! Thanks for the info! And I didnt see that about the starting gold. Is there starting equipment or do we buy it?He'll be on the search for him - supposedly, the dragon lived in the Bastion; and for all the kobolds know, there shouldn't be anything around to threaten him. Let me know if you need more. You get the gunsmithing feat for free, I believe, and it includes producing ammunition. That should mean that you know the recipe, I believe. As for the amount of black powder and such: That's a question for your starting budget, I'm afraid.
You buy everything, besides rare stuff that you might get for free (like the gun).No worries! Thanks for the info! And I didnt see that about the starting gold. Is there starting equipment or do we buy it?
The numbers on the jugs - measurements for the exact mixing ratios of the different components. Whatever it is you mix together to get black powder, in the end. Like, if there's a 400 on one of them, that means that 40% of the black powder is whatever is in the jug. Makes sense? Let me know if not. What did the thousand refer to? As in a thousand components or does of gunpowder?
Yup! Makes sense to me. Would it be safe to say that what doses he had found there were used up in his tinkering to learn about it?You buy everything, besides rare stuff that you might get for free (like the gun).
