Because there is nothing in the setting that is really "steampunk" at all. There are no guns, no factories, no steam or coal, or mention of anything that would generally be associated with the genre or era.
Our cast of characters includes an archer, a monk, a samruai, and even a knight. All of these kinds of characters would be better off in a medieval setting than in the industrial revolution.

He actually doesn't know what his magic is. He just knows he's immune to fire, he has a mark burned into him, and that he accidentally burned his house down.
