Despite the current homage to an orchestral masterpiece of explosions taking place from both the cannon fire and Ezra's explosives, Levi had from the corner of his sight caught glimpse of the fish man taking the plunge into the ocean around them; the roar of the waves far more tempestuous than they were earlier, thanks to the force of the explosions occurring around them. Whilst the marines whom had been focused on the fishman continued to fire into the ocean below, Levi had taken the opportunity to slip in behind them; their stupid attempt at trying to shoot a fishman in the water their downfall as two of them found their backs being slashed open courtesy of Levi's blades, whilst the third was lifted off the ground; Levi's tail coiling tightly around the mans neck before he was flung into the fourth man; the two of them finding themselves thrown into the ocean below. Had the fourth man not been blinded by the flash bang behind Levi, then maybe he would have been able to get out of the way himself.

It was during Levi's throw that he came to realise the effects of the flash bang, dozens of marines as well as a hand full of the fodder pirates that had also been on Walters ship were now recoiling from the effect; several of them on their hands and knee's as they tried to recover from the shock. It was sheer fortune on Levi's part that he had not been caught up in the resulting flash, the direction in which he had been looking unaffected by the flash. While it was effective at disorientating those caught in its blast; the flash bang too had its dire consequences for the distraction squad; this time round being the marine grenade that had landed in the ammunition pile. Like oil being added to boiling water; the addition of the live grenade into the pile of ammunition had created a far larger explosion then previously created; the shock wave sending just about everyone flying in one direction or the other; Levi being sent further along the bridge as the blast knocked into him.

Levi for the most part was merely sent flying, others however were not so lucky. Without even having to glance upwards towards the epicentre of the explosion; Levi could already tell that there sheer pandemonium around him; the anguished cries of both marine and pirate filling the air as the pain their bodies felt slowly begun to sink in. The loudest of groans coming from those that were closest to the ammunition pile. If the force of the blast had not shattered their bones, then the impact of their bodies being thrown against the ground most likely did.

Not even the robotic body of Walter was able to withstand the force of the blast; the presumably heavier frame of his being sent sprawling across the ground; his metalic back sliding along the ground amidst a rain of sparks. Whilst visually spectacular, the sparks themselves had their own intentions beyond looking pretty, the devilish rain of fire finding themselves upon the untouched fuses of the explosive bombs the robotic man had previously been holding. Like the candles on a cake, these fuses slowly began to burn away towards their goal, uncaring of the iron giant that had now begun to chuck them willy nilly across the battle field, his goal to get the bombs far away from himself. Whilst disastrous for those that found a bomb flung towards them, it was still an effective means of protecting himself from more chaos; the same could not be said for Oliver; the young man having been flung further away from Walter. Unlike his partner in crime, who was frantically throwing the bombs away, Oliver in his stupor had simply kicked the bomb along the ground.

Whilst it did the job, Fate was always a bitch at the worst of times and unfortunately for Oliver; fate had chosen today of all days to play 'catch' with Oliver; the sudden rise of the draw bridge causing the bomb to roll back towards him. From where Levi stood, he could do nothing to stop the inevitable, the masked cyborg still clambering up onto his feet as he felt the bridge begin to move. Walter on the other hand was running like a mad man, the robot flinging himself towards his compatriot; shoving the young man away from the fast approaching bomb and sending him into the ocean below; the price for saving Oliver coming at the expense of himself being sent flying once more as 'Fates bomb', exploded.

One by one, things were quickly beginning to pile up on the distraction squad as they rushed towards the marine base; the Robot momentarily losing sight of their goal as he shouted for Oliver to be saved; an awkward request coming from a robot.. then again his actions thus far were far from ordinary. Orders given by the 'leader' of this gambit, several of the others had paused in their endeavours; a few such as Warspite, Frank and Nereus appearing to forsake Oliver in favour of dealing with the drawbridge whilst others clambered towards the side of the bridge were Oliver had been thrown off.

Levi shook his head slightly at the sight before turning around. If they weren't going to jump in themselves to save Oliver, then they were merely wasting their time looking at him. There were other jobs that also needed dealing with and if left untouched, then they'd all be sharing a similar fate.

Distractions set to one side, Levi quickened his pace along the ever rising bridge; body leaning forward and both arms angled outwards with blades held firmly on either side. It was clear as day as to what his intentions were; the decision to cross the bridge only taking a fraction of a second to be made. If anything, the thought of letting the bridge rise whilst he remained on this side of the chaos hadn't even crossed his mind. Not even the sight of Oliver's minute body being thrown into the ocean amidst the 'fireworks' was enough to cause ripples in his emotional compass or stir him away from the one track goal he presently had. Their were others within their group that were better suited towards the 'hero business', their natural talents catered towards this particular situation.

Levi was by no means a life saver and he was no where near as capable as Peanut was in the ocean for obvious reasons. Thus, the act of sparring a moments thought towards jumping in and saving the young man would have been an impractical use of his time. Like every sentient creature presently in existence, Levi too had his own strengths and weaknesses, and being 'the hero' was definitely not one of more 'positive' traits. Instead, he chose to remain fixated on the other problem at hand; their outlandish attempt at creating a distraction now put in jeopardy as the rising bridge began to count down the seconds towards their demise; the closer it got to full height, the likelier their attempts to distract would come to an end. Should it reach its peak before any of them made it across, then only Peanut would have had access to the other side or escape if needed; the non-fishy combatants trapped on the island and cornered with their backs against the raised platform. Undoubtedly, they would not have fared well had they decided to take the plunge in a last ditch bid to escape.

Leading the charge towards the other side, Levi had made it to the growing summit of the bridge; his masked face now visible to the hand full of marines on the other side as he stood on edge; the bright lights of the explosions behind him casting him in shadow whilst the resulting 'force' caused his shroud to trail against the direction of the wind. From where he stood, he could see the marine base in the distance; its large gate opening to presumably let the marine base reinforcements exit its compounds. Glancing behind him, Levi took note of the individuals also making their way across the bridge, as well as those unable to make it in time; the latter group more then likely tasked with holding off the marines coming from behind whilst the 'advanced' group dealt with the draw bridge controls previously mentioned by Peanut.

"Reinforcements... are coming...you... won't have.. much time.. to deal.. with the..." croaked Levi, before a bullet whizzed past the side of his face, interrupting him. Evidently the marines currently guarding the other side of the draw bridge as well as the control room, were not the type to just sit and wait whilst their enemies came at them; the small platoon of guards deciding to try and halt off the ensuing pirates long enough for the bridge to reach full erection. Alas, Levi was not the type to cower at the close proximity of the shot; his prior experiences leaving him with little to no fear of a mere gunshot aimed at him. Instead, it had re-invigored the battle harderned fighter, the mask he wore hiding the wide almost child like grin that had spread across his face.

With a 'spring in his step', Levi leapt across the widening gap between the drawbridge's two peaks, his tail acting as a counterweight to maintain his general balance in mid air as he coiled his body around ever so slightly so that when he landed on the other side he would end up sliding down the slope of the rising bridge, before kicking off at the bottom in order to propel himself into the fray.

Prison TeamFeaturing Adelheid Read, Erik Pasteur, Francesca Drake, Holly HolidayThey were plenty blessed, all things considered. Adelheid didn't partake in her companions’ chatter, if there had been any, instead choosing to follow the strange Marine in front of her. It was clear to her, maybe not to the others, that there was something...off with her behaviour. She wasn't inclined to reveal this to the rest of the group, mostly because it would be detrimental to their camaraderie if she were to do so. She didn't have the time nor the patience to defuse any trust issues anyone had. In fact, from what she had seen, the strange Marine seemed to be on their side, and was only masquerading as a Marine more than anything else. Then again, she wasn't the brightest of bulbs- her gut feeling might just be nothing more than a stomach running on empty. As she strode on ahead, she could only think of chowing down on some actual meat. The simple fact was that prison food just wasn't enough to sustain her. Not with a muscle mass like hers. She clicked her tongue in annoyance.

A sound not unlike thunder rumbled through the prison. The walls made it seem as if the source was far away, but she knew better. Was that cannonfire? Was there an attack on the blockade that was in their way? No, she heard no impacts. Yet. These were sounds not unlike flares, or fireworks. Was something happening outside? Damn it. Where was Kiki in all of this? Was she safe? Adelheid hoped to whatever god that could hear her that the klabautermann wasn't involved in any of this rabble-rousing. “Hey,” she nudged the ‘Marine’, almost sending her careening into a wall, “how much further?

The Marine barely acknowledged her sentence. She was now instead feeling the brick wall of the prison, running her hand across the uneven face. Somehow, even under the shade that her cap cast over her face, Adelheid could see her expression shift from surprise to worry, then to exasperation. She pushed away from the wall, and waved to the others, “Hey, we should, like, start running, now. Pick it up, slowpokes!” Her earlier disposition was suddenly discarded, almost as easily as she had put it on. Whoever this Marine was, it would seem like she wasn't very much a dedicated actor when it came down to it. Adelheid, again, did not comment, choosing to simply shake her head and chase after the ‘Marine’. They didn't come to five steps before the bars in front of them burst open. A couple of Marines tumbled out, scrambling away from the doorway, as a guttural roar that reverberated through even Adelheid’s own bones escaped from the cell.

What the hell--?” The ‘Marine’ fell backwards, then shuffled backwards, recovering herself in the process. “Did they really--?

Adelheid didn't need to know, but as the first paw of their new playdate emerged from the cell, she found out that there some things in life that she didn't want, but would still receive. The beast poked its head out from the cell, and attempted to extricate itself from the tiny opening. Unsuccessful, it withdrew and, before Adelheid could even think that it had retreated, broke through the rest of the wall with the weight of its entire body, scattering the brickwork throughout the hallway. Not a halfway shabby entrance, she must say so herself.

Adelheid kicked away a piece of stray rubble as the beast unleashed yet another roar. She’d never fought a bear before. “Guess there’s a first to everything.” She clenched her fists, and got into a basic, rudimentary stance, glaring straight at the bear. “C’MON!

The ‘Marine’ backed away behind her, shaking her head. If one had the chance to look closer, it seemed as if she was hiding a wide grin. She turned to the rest of the group, ignoring Adelheid’s challenge to the bear. “[b)]I suggest we head into the library.[/b]” She pointed towards the adjacent door with the word ‘Library’ embossed onto its plate. “We’ve got more space to maneuver around it if we do.

(Prison Squad Post. You can choose to either back Adelheid up to fight Fluffy, the Hyena Bear, or you can go with some weirdo Marine to head into the library. If you choose the latter, you find yourself facing a quick and dirty barricade of bookshelves, a peloton of marines led by Eddy. They are clearly panicking, because poor Eddy just couldn’t hold on to Fluffy anymore, so she charged ahead like the wild animal she is. You can interact with the marines and shelves in whatever way you like, but if you want to interact with Eddy or Fluffy please collab with a GM.)

Captain Bella Mae Lynns and the Marines
The captain had watched as her daughter was escorted into the cabin by two of her new crewmates and she felt fairly confident that Airy would be alright with them. She could see that Airy wasn’t scared, either, so that was reassuring. Bella Mae knew her daughter well enough to know that Airy had a good sense of who was a good person and who wasn’t even at such a young age. Bella Mae was proud of her daughter for having developed that way. It wasn’t until Airy was in the cabin securely with the door closed that the captain shifted her attention to the situation that was beginning to present itself.

Bella Mae was able to take a brief moment to smile at the music that had suddenly begun to play, adding even more suspense to the moment. As captain, though, she did have other duties she needed to get back to.

She could tell from the feel of the way the ship was moving that Geraldo had no intentions of stopping them from barraging straight through the blockade that was lying in front of them. Bella Mae didn’t actually have any opposition to that, but it was something everyone on the ship ought to be prepared for. “Brace for impact!” Bella Mae yelled out to the crew, her voice echoing against whatever it could.

The ship rocked - though not quite as violently as many might have initially anticipated it would - as the sides of the ship grazed alongside the marine ships that it was now stealing space from. Though there hadn’t initially appeared to be enough room for Air Keeper to fit in between them, somehow, the ship managed to steal just enough space to get itself wedged in the middle of them. Bella Mae heard Geraldo’s yell for the crew to prep the cannons. Bella Mae had paused for a single moment and then she added her yell into the commands. “Fire!”

Seaman First Class Collin Brunow wasn’t supposed to be up in the crow’s nest watching for anything that might have been approaching on the long horizon. Seaman First Class Collin Brunow wasn’t actually meant to be doing much of anything at all except keeping himself available for communications purposes if anything should become absolutely necessary. It had reached that boring part of the day where he just couldn’t help himself, though. After all, Warrant Officer Xavier Briggans was supposed to be keeping watch and the man had fallen asleep for about the tenth time this watch shift.

While he’d known that he wasn’t supposed to be watching and while he’d known that Xavier was asleep, Collin hadn’t realized when he climbed the crow’s nest that he would actually see something significant and reportable. After all, he’d been up there for the past few days and never seen a thing - except perhaps a ship or two coming into Maroon Summit with supplies for the blockade. That was normal, though. What he saw this time was very different from that. Collin saw a mass of ships - not quite as numerous as the blockade - but definitely worth mentioning and that could definitely do some damage. There were two ships in the lead and they were much closer than the others - and heading straight for the ship that Collin found himself upon.

“Commander! Commander!” he screamed at the top of his lungs. Without pause, Collin started climbing down far faster than he’d ever climbed before and so much so that he was huffing and puffing deeply the whole way down. That wasn’t about to stop him, though. Seaman First Class Collin Brunow had a job to do now that he’d seen what was coming, and gosh darnit, he was going to see it through.

“Commander!” he yelled again as he ran towards the cabin. Another deep breath followed, evidence that Seaman First Class Collin Brunow was definitely not in shape. “Commander!” he yelled again. All those shouts came before he finally found himself close enough to be knocking on the door.

“Come in!” commanded a male voice. Collin’s eyes hardened at the sound of it, too, because he knew that was not the commander’s voice. It was the voice of Captain Sean Cristoe, one of the harshest captains the young Seaman First Class had ever met. As he pushed the door open with fear flickering across his expression, he liked to hope he was mentally prepared for the discipline he was likely to endure. “What the devil brings you in here, boy!?” The Captain’s words were sharp and fierce, but Collin’s gaze shifted towards Commander Leah Harter - someone who had a much kinder heart yet managed to work under Sean quite well.

“Th-there are… sh-sh-ships… ssssssir,” he muttered. “S-s-s-sailing towards us.”

“And you know this… how, exactly?” Commander Leah asked him, jumping in before the Captain could scare Collin even more.

“I was… i-i-in the crow’s nest… ma’am.”

The Captain’s eyes grew even harsher at that statement because Collin wasn’t supposed to be up there in the first place. As far as Sean cared, the Seaman First Class was nothing better than a deck swabber and that was what he ought to have been doing at the time instead of spewing imaginary fantasies of ships sailing their way. However, before he could say anything to that extent, their ship shook rather violently and everyone in the cabin could hear the scream of Warrant Officer Xavier Briggans. “We’re under attack!” This prompted all three of them to run from the cabin to investigate further.

Captain Sellick Havrick stood at the large table in his ships command room. Maps of the Blues were spread out across it in what to many would like complete disarray. To him however the clarity of the patterns was plain to see. Something big was beginning to stir amongst the local pirates. He'd assumed as much would happen even before he'd been stationed here, but based on movements in varying locations it seemed more likely than ever. In fact he predicted it'd happen within the next two weeks...approximately a week ago. Yet the blockade remained poorly manned save a few ships, such as his own. Few to none heeded his warnings. Today, to both his pleasure and despair, he would be proven right.

Without much more than a few clanking steps resounding through the hallway to his door, his brother and second in command burst through the door. He had donned his armor every day the past week at Sellick's behest. Damian never doubted his brother, for he would not ask him to don his armor at see without surety in his words. Banging one hand to his chestplate in his own form of salute, Damian spoke in a even yet worried tone. “Captain! Ships sighted heading for the blockade! A coalition of several pirate crews seems intent on breaching our line. While several crews are of no consequence we see both a crew upon a stolen Marine ship, and the flag if the Frostfire Pirates!”

Sellick snapped up his bow, which had not left his arms reach in a number of years, and immediately began following his brother above deck. He snapped out orders left and right but thankfully found the most pressing ones had been given to the crew by Damian already. Canons were being prepared to fire, and sails had been drawn so they could not be torn or burned by incoming attacks. As a blockade they weren't supposed to let someone pass, and should someone they certainly weren't to break formation to follow. They'd simply have to send word along to HQ detailing who'd gotten by. Sellick knew that likely some would be getting by today, but he'd be damned if he weren't going to make sure to reduce that number.

Just as they were about to come up topside there was a grating sound and their ship shook dramatically. Seems a ship had wedged itself between them and the one to their side. Unfortunately the captain of that ship had been one of those who'd scoffed at Sellick's warning, and was poorly manned. His own crew could likely bleed the pirates well, perhaps even sink their ship. But we're they prepared enough the weakness of the other ship might let them pass. Damian exited the door first, shield raised to deflect whatsoever weaponry the pirates had. Sellick followed just behind, arrow knocked to his bow. The Havricks did not take kindly to attacks on their crew.

Members of the White Rose Pirates,

Your ship has found itself lodged between two marine ships. The ship under the command of the Havrick Brothers is on your right and the ship lead by Captain Sean Cristoe is on your left. Sean’s ship literally only has 4 people on it (Sean, Leah, Collin and Xavier). The Havricks’ ship is far more adequately manned. Your ship is not capable of moving forward at the moment, but the ship is close enough that you can easily leap onto either of the marine ships should you wish to.

If you attack anyone on the Havricks’ ship, please tag AllHailDago AllHailDago . If you attack any of the four marines on Sean’s ship, please tag myself (Athena RN).

Lynn Aquari and Lexi May

Lynn managed to get a couple more cannonballs over to Lexi's stockpile on the left side. She found it much easier on her shoulders to roll the heavy iron balls into place. "That should last you a little while," she told Lexi. The doctor rushed back over to the cannonball box and didn't notice the acknowledging nod that the shipwright had given her.

Expecting more people to man the cannons, Lynn started to roll a cannonball over to the right side. Just as she had put it in place, she head the captain shout "Brace for impact!"

Lynn braced herself against the first cannon on the right side and glanced over at Lexi. She was also bracing herself on the left side cannon she was manning. Soon both could hear a scraping noise as the Air Keeper slid between two Marine ships. "That's going to scratch the paint," Lexi said with a grimace.

The two females tightly gripped their cannons so they wouldn't tumble on the lower deck after the sudden stop. "Oh no. We're stuck!" Lexi proclaimed, looking down the cannon of the opposite ship.

"Fire!"

Lexi fired at the enemy cannon, her ears started to ring afterword.

With surgical percussion, Lynn placed her cannonball into the cannon in front of her. She also aimed at the cannon staring her down from the ship on the right and fired. She quickly covered her ears with her hand, but that only helped muffle the sound a little.

"Move to the next cannon," Lynn ordered, yelling so she could hear herself.

Lexi managed to hear Lynn's doctor-taking-charge voice, but in her still ringing ears she sounded like she was farther away, or being heard from underwater. Lexi nodded and grabbed a cannonball. This time she started to roll it to the next cannon on the left.

Instead of going all the way back to the crate of cannonballs, Lynn grabbed one from the stockpile and started to roll it to the next cannon on the right.

Sai
Sai continued to play his melody as the ship sped up, seemingly like the waters were with them. As the ship began to approached the blockade he kept singing loudly, while preparing himself mentally to fight. He was more of a one on one fighter, not so much as the type of guy who would storm a marine vessel to take down a bunch of marines, but this seemed more appealing to his tastes than to break into a prison or invade an marine base with a crazy robot. All the same he was feeling rather nervous. As the ship wedged itself between the two marine vessels that were at either side of their own ship the rather loud grinding of wood on wood and the shaking of the ship forced Sai to stop playing and lay down his guitar quickly yet gently. He began to walk towards the middle of the ship.

As he got to the middle of the ship he began to look over to each side. On the left the ship seemed less crowded but on the right it seemed better manned as he could now see the canons being directed towards them. Sai gave a loud sigh as he ran towards the ship to the left. He had left all of his weapons except his tanto and his kusarigama behind as he leapt over to the marine ship, using the railing of the air keeper as a foot hold as he hoist himself up onto the deck. As he landed he rolled forward and stopped in a crouching position. He began to look around on the ship deck and heard the shouting from a marine who he assumed was up in the crows nest, warning everyone else on the ship that they were under attack.

Sai's heart began to beat loudly as he remained crouching observing his surroundings now and taking note of everything on the deck that could be used to his advantage or disadvantage, such as loose floor boards, barrels, and anything in general that could be turned into a weapon against him. He exhaled softly, as this was a new experience for him, storming a marine ship looking to fight multiple people at once, the whole idea of it seemed preposterous to him and he was beginning to wonder if her had made the wrong choice. That's when three more marines came out of what seemed to be one of the cabins on the ship. His heart nearly skipped a beat, They look pretty strong he thought to himself as he let the kusarigama loose on his belt, letting the long chain his the deck of the ship, knowing that if he were to fight these three alone he would need to be able to keep a good distance between them. "So... Which one of you is the strongest? let me fight him..." he said as he paused for a second looking at the lady on board, "or her without interruption, one on one style, and I might let the rest of you live" he said as a smile came to his face, though a false smile at that as all he could think was I'm in way over my head....

Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivruski IV

Ed shivered, her muscles tense as she sat curled up in her hiding spot behind the stack of crates. Her eyes were clamped shut and her breathing was unsteady. She wanted to disappear, to get out of this place; hoping that when she opened her eyes it would all be gone. She tried desperately to calm her racing mind. For the first time in her life, she had locked up, and she couldn't figure out what to do. Unfortunately, before she could achieve some level of stability, the boat jarred as if they'd hit something. Her eyes shot open and her shaken nerves forced her to dry heave. She was used to being on the sea, but she wasn't handling the stress well at all. She never had to deal with this sort of stress before. In the past, when she was just on her own, only worrying about herself, there was always an escape. She could always find a way to get out of a bad situation. This time, she couldn't run away, though. The only other time this had happened to her, she'd been too naive to understand the potential consequences. Now she knew better.

Ed coughed, slipped her mask down, and spat gunk out of her mouth before shooting up and rushing to the edge of the ship as she felt another heave coming on. When she leaned over the railing, though, she found something she didn't expect. There was another ship right next to them. Her head snapped up to the other ship's flag, fully expecting to see the marine emblem. When she confirmed this, she took a few steps back and looked across the decks to see someone facing her in a marine outfit. A few other white rose crew members were already engaging the marines. She felt the same tragedy that had happened to her last crew creeping up on them, and her thoughts went back to Scarlet. Ed still had no clue where the redhead was, and this worried her greatly. As her concentration returned to the marine, already poised to attack, Ed snapped. She wasn't going to let them her Scarlet. They weren't going to take her mom away.

Wiping her mouth, Ed flipped the mask back onto her face and vaulted over the railings. Before the marine had a chance to react, Ed had gotten inside his sword range, controlled the arm and found herself reaching into her coat to pull out a colored pencil. Before she knew it, she'd stabbed the rose red point of her art tool into the marine's eye, jamming far deeper than necessary. As blood splattered onto her like red tears, she shoved the marine away. Her eyes snapped to the next marine, cartwheeling toward him, she grabbed a spray paint can on her hip. Snatching the unprepared marine's collar, she shoved can in his surprised mouth and shot the paint directly into his lungs until some of it was coughed back up onto her, making her face look even more menacing with blood and neon paint. Kicking him aside, she spun around and threw the paint can at another marine, causing it to explode in his face before running up to some rigging and swinging around it to jam her feet into another Marine's chest.

Everything was a blurr as she continued to fight. There was no plan, no great analyzis. Just raw instict and rage. She didn't make a sound, but two words kept ringing out in her mind, Go away. Go Away. GO AWAY! As she tumbled around the enemy ship like a monkey -- utilizing the ships own structures to strangle, whip, maim, and bash marine's heads in -- she wasn't really paying attention to her opponents. The splotches of blood she left behind made a sort of pattern like fallen petals from a rose. After a short while, a voice began to call out from the mask, though; as Ed's mind was desperately trying to fill itself with something else, not willing to accept the violence she was doing.

As she went on the murder spree, the masked artist began to yell a story, "Once upon a time, there was an ORANGE OCTOPUS and a TURQUOISE TURTLE! Living high on the seas! The Orange Octopus asked the Turquoise Turtle, 'WHY ARE YOU SO BLUE?!' The Turquoise Turtle responded, 'IF I'M BLUE, THEN WHAT ARE YOU?' So the Orange Octopus said, 'ORANGE'. Then the Turquoise Turtle ATE the Orange Octopus, saying, 'I'M NOT BLUE, I'M HUNGREEN AND ORANGES ARE FUCKING TASTY!!!'"

As this demented tale came to a close, she ended up swinging down from some rigging toward a marine only to find herself slamming into a wall of armor and getting knocked on her ass. It was clear the armored marine in front of her was not like the rest. However, at the moment, she was still too blind with rage to realize that this probably wasn't a fight she would win. Especially since she didn't really have any weapons on her.

Ensign and Chief Engineer Darby Rockwell was distraught. He had worked the last twelve days without an off day. Some days for up to twenty hours! Finally he got a day off and he had been asleep no longer than two, maybe three hours when suddenly he was rushed from his bed. The island was under attack and he was to be brought to the lift to the prison to bring it temporarily offline.

He ran alongside his escort, half dressed and attempting to wipe smudges from his glasses. He had a backpack of tools and emergency rations thrown over one shoulder. He fairly shook and jumped at every sound around them. Especially the largest explosion of the lot, which nearly scared him right out of his shoes! 'What was going on around here?!’

He threw furtive glances every which way, sure someone would come for him. They always come for the engineers in these situations! Either for hostages who can turn things against the Marines or to take vital players away for the same reason. He really hoped this group was the former type of pirate.

Thankfully it seemed they would reach their destination relatively unmolested. They had but one small group of pirates cross their path, and they were of such common rabble that they fled after a single one of them was shot. He was rushed to the gate of the small fort built around the lift control room. It seemed sort of….ramshackle to him. Was this thrown together fortification going to protect them if whoever was tossing explosives reached them? He wasn't so sure.

He hoped, to all the gods of the sea, that these buffoons hadn't managed to ruin his earlier work in the five hours since he had last been there. Yet he would surely be kidding himself if he thought them capable of not doing exactly that. He went to unzip his backpack in preparation for whatever work he'd enter to when suddenly he was handed a ringing den den mushi. With a sigh he answered, “This is chief engineer Rockwell. Speak.” Ensign was his rank, but when in engineering mode it was mostly irrelevant. Even most superiors left him to be his….blunt self such times.

“Petty Officer Hannattee here. What is your status?” The voice on the other end clearly wasn’t in a good mood and a bit stressed at that. “I saw you have not checked in yet. Where the hell are you?”

“Tired, frustrated, but thankfully unharmed. I've just arrived and am waiting gate to the fort. What in the HELL is going on?”

“Good, I will let you in in a minute. An alliance of pirates have decided to take over the island. There is a fight going on at the marine base and turmoil in the prison. So far, they have not attacked us yet, but we are on high alert. You will have to give the code before entering as well. I just got word that some pirates infiltrated the prison guard.”

Darby let out a long sigh. He really needed to be quick about his work then. He didn't want the pirates in the prison and the ones trailing behind on the island to catch them in a pincer attack. “Alright, what's today's code? I was supposed to be at home all day and didn't get the changed code.”

“If I did not recognize your disdain I would have you shot right now, so get it right next time. The code is: ‘Taming of the Screw’. You better not forget it again.” He did his best to keep his anger inside. “By the way, are those people behind you with you or not? It’s so confusing with all these new recruits.”

Darby clenched his jaw, reminding himself of the Petty Officers lack of respect towards anyone. It helped control the spike of anger…. Somewhat. He spoke through clenched teeth in a clipped manner. “Petty Officer, a reminder that you can't have me shot because not only am I the only damned man on this island who can disable this lift properly. But I also significantly outrank you!” With that said he tosses a glance over his shoulder to see approaching figures he...didn't recognize at all.

They didn't appear to be in uniform and Hannattee didn't recognize them either. That was a bad sign. Darby shouted to his escort to raise arms at the likely pirates as he began pounding in the gate. “Taming of the Screw, Taming of the GODDAMNED Screw!”

Dear Future Crimson Horns,
Safia was likely to overhear this conversation. Uroko and Ava were the inconspicuous people walking behind Rockwell, so the marines are taking aim at you. Better act fast if you want to avoid a fight!

Good Luck!

P.S. NUSKI NUSKI if you feel like it, you can write your post as if Ricky was together with Uroko and Ava all along.

Namine's mind was picture perfect stillness, even as the waters swirled disharmoniously beneath her. Secured to the side of the ship she had been set to join, she maintained her current placement, knowing that with the current route up the reversed path there was only one true option for what they were currently embarking upon. A hand in her bag came to find her 'face' fitting comfortably in her palm, and as she withdrew it out came the only visage the Marines deserved from her. Settling her mask over her face, she let her well trained and regimented emotions boil over. Deep angers and hatred becoming eddies roiling dangerously close to the surface as she prepared herself for the conflict.

It was a bizarre safety, a paradox, but nothing de-stressed Namine more than when she donned her mask and readied for combat.

Some may consider it an offset of her traumatic childhood, other a sign of her instability. Any who may have a chance to come to know her, however, would learn that it was simply comfort. Like all humans, there was comfort to be found in familiarity, and she was very, very familiar with conflict and as such was able to easily find comfort within its chaos.

As they crested the top of the reverse mountain Namine let the momentum continue to carry her upwards. With a deft manuever and destrous twist, the woman utilised this as the perfect moment to hurl her blade at the second Marine ship far to her right before kicking off from her perch on the side of the ship and hurtling after her slower moving blade. The wind whistled past her, lashing at her uncovered skin and whistling through the holes of her mask, whipping at her cheeks and eyes. Still, she refused to blink or otherwise remove her sight from the upcoming hilt of her blade as she grew evercloser to the air above the unassuming Marine craft.

Even so high above, the Swordsmaster could easily see that the ship was undermanned. There seemed to only be enough men to crew three of the cannons, and even then Namine knew that it wasn't going to be something she was about to struggle with. Not a second later her palm struck the hilt of her blade, and her fingers snapped shut around it, gripping tightly. Tensing her arm, she felt her arm pull taut as she spun around her weapon and her speed drop to next to nothing as she immediately dropped towards the sail. Gripping the blade with both hands, Namine thrust it into the canvas as she plummeted towards the deck. Twisting the blade backwards, she let the force of the blunt side of the blade against the strength of the sail slow her fall to a crawl before alighting towards the deck, landing easily on her feet.

Standing at the backs of the attending Marines, Namine realised she could easily fell them all without bringing alarm.

A blossomed wind blew fierce as she instead called out to the men.

Eight enjoyed every second of the trip up the reverse mountain. As soon as they crested the route, the man recognised the tell tale glint of scope glare at the crow's nest. Reaching down to his holster, he drew out his sidearm and took careful aim. Realising it wasn't going to work, he promptly pulled out an inhaler of something blatantly illicit, huffed it and raised his revolver once more.

"A'right then fucker, you'd best hope you c'n aim true."

Giving it a second before pulling the trigger, the recoil snapped his arm backwards and less than a second later the wood of the main mast next to the sniper far, far, far in the distance shattered, showering the sniper with wood chips.

"MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!"

Eight just laughed uproariously, holding his aptly named revolver in wonder, "Ah know, right?!"

The man's grin persisted even as the sniper's panicked shot whistled past his face and struck something behind him. The stupid smile still stayed settled even as a barrel, once held steady by a rope, fell directly on his skull and knocked him clean out.

~The Challenger~

It had been a good set of minutes when Namine turned from the craft she'd handled and regarded her own ship. It was caught between two Marine craft, and likely would be doomed without quick intervention. It didn't leave her troubled, however. This was what she wished for, and was ultimately why she joined up with pirates to begin with. This was an opportunity to start the campaign of revenge she was intent on letting loose, as opposed to the skirmishes she'd started out with in the beginning.

Ensuring the angle was correct, she let her blade fly and quickly took after it, intent on formally joining her crew.

As her boots found the deck of the craft seconds later she immediately fell upon the helmsman that had turned to face her. The challenge, or lackthereof, left her feeling restless as the Marine slipped past her and fell to the deck, letting the swordsmaster's attentions focus elsewhere. Most notably on the girl that seemed to stumble back before a towering mass of armor. It was exactly the kind of challenge that she'd been driving towards. It filled her with a fire... a fire she'd not felt in a very long time, and the wind around her began to fill with the scent of cherry blossoms and petals of pink.

Once more she cast her sword forth, and her feet slid against the damp deck as she came to a stop between the masked girl behind her and the towering individual before her. Her eyes glared harshly from behind her mask and quickly sized the man up as her blade rested easily in her dominant left hand. She personally was hoping that this would be the first true challenge she'd encountered in a long time, and putting herself between him and the girl further fueled her fire.

"That is a... hard no. You Marines may have a penchant for who you like to target, but your fight will be with me today." she spoke, before looking around at some of the Marines beginning to ready their weapons around her, "Call off your kittens, or shall you sacrifice them for your needs? Ending them would be a treat... Please?"

Megan "Max" Mariner
Max held her ground at the front of the ship. Standing with both feet planted firmly on the figure head and a sword drawn, she was ready for the ship to come into contact with a marine ship as it raced forward. At this point she wanted revenge for her former crew, losing to the marines once and living had stained her honor, as she seemed to be the only survivor of the attack, but she was also happy to have found another crew so quickly and with little trouble, even if she had stowed away on their ship and would probably suffer the consequences of that later. She watched as the ship approached the barricade a soft tune playing in the background as the man introduced as Sai began to sing a tune that was known to most sailors around her parts.

The ship finally made contact with the other two ships with the loud grinding and cracking of wood that surely meant there was some damage to the ships, either theirs or the marine ships. The collision didn't seem to phase Max or catch her off balance, she simply jumped back off the figure head and landed firmly on deck. Max quickly surveyed both of the marine ships, looking to see how many were on each side. From what she could tell one of the ships wasn't properly manned, though the other was. She sighed, Fighting only one or two is no fun at all... She said as she ran and jumped to the marine ship on the right. From here she could see that she was out numbered by a lot, but that never bothered her in the past. It seemed that she was also joined by a masked lady who had been on her ship as she jumped over.

Max Still had her sword drawn and as marines approached her she began to fend them off. Soon they began to fall to her sword skills as blood splattered on the deck. She soon heard the near crazy ranting of the other pirate who had joined her on the ship, it seemed to be some kind of tale of a octopus and a turtle... though max was to concentrated on fighting her own enemies to make out what exactly it was all about. Max continued to fight off the marines that were coming at her but was losing ground as she was out numbered, she could no longer tell what was happening to the other girl on the ship as now she was basically a cornered rat on the ships deck with no where else to run. Reaching down to her sword belt she gripped her second sword. Now fending off her attackers with two swords rather than one Max began to push back the marines, little by little.
