While this may lead to her making some questionable decisions that she doesn’t always think through but it always works out in the end. This is mostly due to her being able to maintain a cool when put on the spot and being really good at bluffing.
She is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and likes to get herself into situations that will provide that rush. Zhen was a bit of a trouble maker in her youth but swears that it is behind her. Scouts honour.
If confronted about it she would quickly deny it but she can be a bit of a romantic. Though she thoroughly dislikes cheesy romance books she does secretly want someone. Though she usually suppresses these feelings with flings and mischievous flirting. She can't help a bit of a nagging feeling of loneliness tugging at her heart. In the end who doesn’t want an epic movie-style adventure romance. Mushu's reputation would suffer dearly from this, with the eldest of the ancestors refusing to even acknowledge Mushu as a "real dragon".
the spirits of the ancestors choose to send the Great Stone Dragon to simply bring her back safely. For the task of awakening him, they send Mushu, who is offended when he is not asked to find her himself. In the past, his actions in protecting the Fa family led to disaster. After several unsuccessful attempts at waking the dragon, he ends up accidentally destroying the dragon statue. Cri-Kee suggests that Mushu bring Mulan back safe instead so that he won't be punished, but Mushu decides to make his own plan and sets out to make Mulan a war hero, selfishly endangering her life in the process.

They lived in Duoyishu, a farming village that was well known for their beautiful rice terraces. Even from a young age, she would go out early in the morning before school to help out with tending them. They lived quite happily there until her father got sick. The doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong until the sickness had already taken him. Her mother couldn’t bear to live in their home without them so they packed up and moved. Not to another town but to another country.
The family of two didn’t have a destination, they just drove until they found a place that felt right. That place was Storybrooke. At the time Zhen was only ten years old and barely knew any English but she would learn. At first, it was hard to make friends due to the language barrier and everyone called her Jen but she didn’t mind. If her mother was happy then she would learn to be happy too.
In the end, it wasn’t hard to find their place in Storybrooke. It was like they had always belonged there and her memories of China were distant and fading. At times it was almost like she had never been to China and had imagined it. Her mother ended up getting a job at the cemetery as a caretaker so she would help out sometimes too. It gave her a slight badass reputation among her classmates even though they just tided up the graves and kept everything looking nice.
Years later her mother passed away too causing Zhen to take over as caretaker. It was upsetting but she managed to keep going. The people of Storybrooke were almost like one big family anyways.
