On The Run *Private RP*

Sophie walked in slowly behind Cat, trying not to gasp at how nice the room was. "We are lucky dad gets such a big discount here." she said quietly. She looked around the room, paying attention to every detail. Slowly she sat on one of the two beds in the room. She did not want to grow to cozy in this room, for she was aware they were not staying long. She knew that Kendall would most likely wake them up at 6:00am and we would have to get ready and leave. She got up and grabbed a water from the small refrigerator Cat had left open. She took a small sip and went into the bathroom. Looking in the mirror at her reflection she was not impressed. She turned on the cold water and caught some with her hands. She tossed the water onto her face and turned off the sink. She walked quietly back to the bed and sat back down, waiting for someone to talk.

"That's not free, guys!" Kendall snapped. "We have to watch ourselves, now. You should know that." He folded his arms, but did notice how nice the room was. Still, he ached for his own bed. And besides - they weren't here for vacation. They were running from the law, for crying out loud. He shook his hair and sat down on the bed, then flopped on to his back, risking closing his eyes. Maybe if he closed them long enough, all of this would go away. Poof away in a cloud of smoke. But, then again, how often did that happen? "I'm dreaming! I'm dreaming!" He wished he could enjoy this the way his sisters were. At least they weren't in charge of two naive little girls.

(Finally - a decent post!

...Dude, they cant use their father's discount....)

Catarina suddenly felt a lump rising in her throat. She quickly got up, and walked into the bathroom. She turned the faucet on, and splashed her face with the cold, refreshing water. After she dried her face, she looked at her face in the mirror.

She looked horrid. She felt a lump rising in her throat again, and then realized there was no reason to hold back the tears. She began crying quietly, hoping that someone would hear her, to knock on the door and comfort her. But all she heard for a while was her tears.

She then turned on the shower, and began adjusting the water so hot, that when she stepped in the bath, the water practically burned her skin.

Sophie gazed around the room, if only she could enjoy it. At the time that was likeasking her to beleive pigs could fly. Sophies one desire at that moment was to run out side and curse at the sky, but she was far to tired and out of sorts to even move from her position. After an akward minute of listening to her frazled brother mumble to himself, she forced her self to lay down. Not caring to pull the blankets over her body she rest her head on one of the many lush pillows layed on the bed. She forced her eyes shut. A tear fell from her eye, followed by more. As she lay there her cry got louder, her face turned redder and her pillow got wetter. She couldn't dicide which was slowly ripping her apart faster, the fact that her father was gone forever or that her favorite person in the world will get ripped away from her any day now.

Kendall blinked. He never really was good at dealing with crying girls, but now his baby sister was in tears right in front of him, and he could hear Cat in the bathroom. Should he...Attempt to comfort them? Kendall wasn't good at comforting, but only because he had never really been comforted. What could he say, though? Everything will be okay, please stop crying. That was a lie, though. He had no idea if he'd be okay, and no idea if he would be arrested for a crime he didn't commit. If he were to be arrested, he didn't know what would happen to his sisters, or his father's company. Kendall squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head, all of the unknown swirling around his head, now, and driving him crazy. Voices rang in his mind. The police officer's voice, demanding Kendall's alibi. Niels's voice, the little snake over the phone the night before his father's death, asking about some computer chip. Sophie's voice, asking Kendall what would happen. His father's voice, telling him how the company would be good for him. No - his father's voice sounded evil now. Forbidden. How long would it be before he forgot it? Kendall opened his eyes, snapping himself out of his own twisted thoughts. Sophie was still on the bed, still in tears. Cat was still in the bathroom, probably still crying with the water running. Kendall released an unsteady breath. "K-keep it togethor, Sophie," he said shakily, putting a shy hand on Sohpie's shoulder. "I'll find something."

Sophie was suprised and a bit touched that Kendall came over to comfort her, but "Keep it together Sophie." Really? Is that the best her could do? Way to make an effort, Kendall. Sophie thought to herself. That was like the worst atempt to comprot someone Sophie had ever heard, but the meaning was sweet and she affreciated his effort. She wanted to talk, but when she tryed nothing came out. How could all of that happen so fast, how could someone do that to her father, and how could they think it was Kendall. He would never! Would he? No, never! What was Sophie thinking! She sighed and settled into the bed. She was dicusted at herself for even thinking for a split second that Kendall would ever do something so awfull.

Catarina ran her fingers over the plush robes stitching. She slipped the robe on, and immediately became comfortable. She tied its belt, and walked out of the bathroom. Sophie was bawling herself to sleep, and Kendall was trying to comfort her.

She found the washer, and drier in a small closet, and threw her cloths into the machine. She poured a bit of detergent into a small cup, and poured it into the washer. It had a high viscosity, and it took a while for it to flow into the washer. She slammed the washer shut, and pressed the button that started the machine.

She turned around, sick of Sophie bawling so loudly that she could not hear herself think. She asked angrily, "Could you stop bawling like a child?" She walked angrily out of the hotel rooms door, and slammed it shut. She felt a lump rising in her throat again.

She held it back, finding no reason to cry. She had already cried enough today. She began to think about what had happened all day. It was all to much to handle.

When Sophie heard Cat, she sucked in some air, in order to calm herself down and quiet down a bit. She slowly lifted herself from her position and sat up. Her face wet and red, yet still emotionless. Reaching over to the pillow her head was laying on, she got a good grip and in a quick move threw it in Cat's direction, hitting her right in the face. I men really "Could you stop bawling like a child?" she was worse at comforting than Kendall was. How could someone be so cruel and heartless to tell someone who father was just murdered and brother was framed for it!? Sophie did a quick smile and placed herself into the position she was in before, pulling another pillow to lay her head on.

After Catarina regained herself, she walked into the hotel room, only to be hit in the face by a hard pillow, made of foam. She picked the pillow up, and placed it on ''Sophie's" bed. She then leapt onto the bed, pushing Sophie over so far that she fell onto the floor. She heard a 'thud', and smiled with satisfaction.

She leapt to her feet, and checked the washer. The cycle had finished. She opened the washer, and drier, stuffed the wet clothing into the drier, and pressed the button that started the machine.

"Cat!" Kendall snapped as his sister left again. "Really?" He rolled his eyes and looked at Sophie on the floor. She was a big mess. "Sophe, get up. Don't let her bully you," he told his sister, trying not to break down and scream. WHy did things have to be so.....Random?

(*pumps air into muse's body* Live, darn you!)

There was a loude thud when Sophie hit the ground. Leaving Cat with the satisfactory of a quiet "Ew!", Sophie rose herself up, back onto the soft bed. As she lay back down the bed seemed to morf to her body. Her sadness had now turned to angry, yet she was still crying, it was impossible for her to stop. Kendall's voice went in one ear and out the other, which tended to happen alot. "I hate Cat! I hate her!" Sophie half screamed. And at that she closed her eyes and tryed to sleep. Trying to think about everything happy in her live, but that was hard to think about, because that day all the happiness had been taken away in one swift move.

(Forgive my spelling errors, I was in a hurry.)

Catarina snatched her clean laundry up. It was now stiff, and wet. She threw it into the dryer, and started the machine. Sophie was still crying, screaming that she hated her sister.

Catarina walked towards the door, and as she was walking out, she started, "I am going to get something
decent to eat. I am starving." She paused. "Anyone wanna come?"

Sophie got up and pushed past Cat aggressivly. She wasn't going to let her foul thoughts about Cat, get in the way of her eating something that didn;t come from a gas station. As she approched the door of the elavator, she took a deep breath and brushed away her tears, fixing her face a bit. She pushed the button and sttod in front of the doors to wait. After a minute of waiting, the doors slid open, Sophie stepped in and pushed the button for the first floor, where the reasturant was located.

(Sorry, sucky post! I used all my muse in Insanity and Fear.)

Catarina sighed as her sister pushed aggressively passed her. She was very aggravated with Sophie. She stormed out of the fancy hotel room, and walked down the stairs to the cafeteria. She arrived just seconds after one of the hotel's chefs laid out the last morsel of the buffet. She snatched up a still-warm plate, and searched through the buffet for what she wanted to eat. She saw bacon, and wrinkled her nose. She immediately excluded any meat, as she was a vegetarian.

She paused and stopped in her tracks. Bacon? Why would they have bacon at dinner time? She glanced at her watch, and her jaw dropped. It was 5:51 o' clock in the morning. She shook her thoughts away, and began serving herself. She scooped some eggs and potato onto her first plate, and then plopped two pancakes onto her second.

She hated having her food mixed together. She sat down at a table, and began slowly choking down her food.

Kendall stalked out of the hotel room and rushed to catch up with Sophie. When he caught up with her though, the elevator doors were already closing. "Okay, really?" he said out loud, not caring who heard him. He slammed on the button and waited for a minute. Ding! the doors chimed, inviting him to step in. The lanky, exhausted-looking boy stepped in and punched a button with a shaky finger, just as another person rushed in as the doors closed. The man reached across Kendall and pushed the button for the lobby, his eyes flicking over the exhausted boy next to him. Kendall forced a hollow smile and nodded a lazy hello.

"Good morning," the man said, nodding back. Kendall assumed he was making the ride less awkward, at least for himself.

Whoa, wait..Morning? Kendall blinked, his eye brows creased. "Er, yes, good morning..." he said, his voice surprising him. He almost sounded like his throat was sore. "Um...Do you have the time?'

The man checked his blackberry. "I have five fifty three...Are you in a hurry?"

Kendall searched for an excuse. Unable to come up with a better one, he said, before he could stop himself, "Meeting my girlfriend."

Crap. That was an awful excuse. Then again, it might work - this man was going to the lobby. But, still....One had to be consistent when lying. Crap.

The man nodded, clearly buying it. "Say...you look an wful lot like James Garner's son." Oh,
crap! "What was his name again...Oh...Casey? Kyle? No..."

Kyle? Really?

The man snapped his fingers and looked at him. "Kendall. You look like Kendall Garner."

Oh, for the love of...Come
on! He was on the run for sixteen hours, and some one already recoginzed him. Disguising his panic, Kendall thought fast on his toes..Ah, what to tell him...

"Who?"

Catarina left her plate on the table, knowing that a waiter would soon clean the tables. She sighed, and pushed out of her chair, which made an obnoxiously loud sound. She walked to the elevators, and angrily poked the button. The door rang, and she strolled forward, into the cramped but fancy elevator. She pushed the button that led to the highest floor, the eighth floor; and sighed as the elevator glided past each floor, dinging. Catarina waltzed out of the elevator as it reached her room's floor, keeping her head down. She blinked as she ran into someone.

Her head shot up, and she blinked again as she realized she had ran into Kendall. She looked around. A man looked at her, and her gaze nervously shot back to Kendall. Had she interrupted something? Had her brother already been recognized after only a few hours of being on the run? She shot Kendall a look that clearly said, "What are you doing!?"

Sophie looked down at her feet as Kendall stormed into the small elevator. As the elevator opened and a man stepped in, she shifted her body to the right, giving the large man more room. She did not dare talk, as Kendall made the awful excuse of going to see his ‘girlfriend’. As If, Kendall! She rolled her eyes, deciding that the man was an idiot to believe that he was meeting his girlfriend at five thirty in the morning. What was that man even doing up at this time? Though she could not believe the time, she did not let her thoughts linger on figuring out what they had been doing all day, she was too busy trying to find out how to get Kendall out of his situation. Whipping away any tears that could have still been on her face, she hoped the man would turn around and talk to her. She jumped a bit as Cat ran into Kendall. Crap! She thought to herself, either the man will think that that was Kendall’s girlfriend or will recognize her too.

(Wouldn't Sophie had already been dropped off at the....XP)

"You've never heard of him?" the man asked, eye brows knit. "That's a kid who's famous for being famous! Come on, you must even be about the same age."

Kendall pursed his lips and shook his head. "Nope, never heard of him. Should I have?"

"Yes! This kid's dad owns a popular computer franchise. His kids are all over the tabloids. My sister's kids keep up with this family like they're the Kardashians."

Well,
that wasn't weird at all.

"Poor Kendall," the man added. "I heard he snapped and killed James."

Yup. There it was.

The average American man eating up every thing he heard on the news. Or, in some magazine. Great...

"His sisters must be devastated," the man pressed. "Poor girls. Their brother's a whack job."

Kendall couldn't take much more of this. "Y'know, I've never heard of these people, so I don't know what you're talking about," he said, letting his annoyance in to his voice. "But, why would this kid - Oof!" He blinked and stepped back as a petite body ran in to him. "Watch where you're going," he told his sister, his eyes flicking over to the man next to him. In a stupid attempt to let Cat catch on, he thought,
Dude knows who I am, make up some name, hoping it would show on his face and she would catch on.

Cat immediately knew what Kendall wanted her to do by the look on his face. She wanted to comment about 'her whack job brother', but knew she had to keep up the act, or else they would be caught. “Kendall… Garner?” Cat asked innocently. “Who’s that?” she questioned, turning to her ‘brother’. She looked very confused, and innocent. Good. Keep up the act.

"I-I've never heard of 'im..."

Kendall glared at his sister, wishing she would hold her tongue. He looked at the man who was getting way too pushy. "Guess this Garner guy isn't that big after all," he suggested, mentally slapping him self as each word left his mouth. He was basically denying his own worth. Pretty much telling this man that he wasn't all his nieces and nephews thought that he was cracked up to be. Kendall didn't like doing that. Sure, all the cameras being shoved in to his face and the prying in to his social and love life get pretty freaking annoying, but a little attention never hurt any one. Besides - the whole charade was a bit unrealistic. Kendall's father was almost as famous as Steve Jobs. Every one had heard of Steve Jobs. Their lie had no leg to stand on, it was completely hollow....Didn't feel great either.

The man narrowed his eyes in to slits. "You've got to be kidding me - even your girlfriend's never heard of him? My girlfriend would laugh at me until she couldn't breathe..."

This comment was irritating. How dare he? Sure, they were lying, but....This guy had no idea who he was dealing with. Which....Was sort of the point. But still. Jerk. "Yeah, I know...We live under a freaking rock.
Do you mind?"

He blinked and put his hands up in surrender just as the elevator doors dinged and clicked open. Kendall grabbed Sophie and Cat's wrists and rushed them out of the elevator, leaving the crazy dude scratching his head as the doors closed.

Catarina

Cat clapped her hand over her mouth. Ha! Kendall was literally

denying his own worth. The man's arrogant comment snapped

her out of her amusing thoughts. Cat narrowed her eyes back at

the irritating man. Who did he think he was, criticizing them for

no knowing who someone was.
Arrogant, little... Cat grumbled in

her mind. Setting her jaw, she snapped, "Are you criticizing me for

not knowing who someone is!? Exaggerating, much..." Before Cat

could continue her rant, Kendall gripped her wrist tightly, and pulled

her out of the elevator. She pulled her wrist away from Kendall, and

just lost it. Staggering to the wall, she sunk to the dirty carpet, and

hugged her knees closely to her chest. She screamed silently into her

knee, and opened her eyes fiercely as the image of her father's blood

and the coffee mingled together. She shook her head between sobs,

and blocked the outside world completely out of her mind. Only her

thoughts could be taken into consideration now.

Sophie watched the conversation in silence, while sweat dripped down her face in concern for her brother. She quickly decided the man was just an idiot, she hated how people talked about things they had no idea about, it wasn't even there business. As Kendall grabbed her hand she stumbled forward nearly raming into the idiot husky man. She prayed her hand out of Kendall's death grip when she new they were out of the elavator and rubbed her wrist trying to ease the pain his tight grip inflicted on her. Jerking her head towards the sound of muffled screaming to see her sister on the ground. Sophie tried putting on a sympathetic face, but she honestly did not care on bit. She thought Cat deserved it after everything she had done, all the things she said.

Looks like Karma nipped her in the butt.....

She thought to herself as she leaned her back against the wall, not knowing what to do or say. Running her figures through her unkempt blonde hair, she looked at Kendall for guidance though in other circumstances he would be the last one she would look to.

ahead of them.

Kendall realized he probably squeezed his sisters too hard, but that man was about to get a fist stuffed in to his mouth. That alone could get him arrested. With an exasperated sigh, he knocked his hand against the wall. It immediatley burst in to pain, and he knew it would bruise immediately as he threw it, but he didn't care. His sister had crumpled on to the ground in to a fit of tears. He released another shaky breath and slid down the wall next to her, wordlessly slipping his arm around her shoulder. He didn't use his right arm - the one he just maimed, but his left arm would do the same job. Kendall avoided talking, hoping his gesture would be enough to comfort Cat, at least a little bit. Besides - where had his talking gotten him with Sophie? His eyes squinted in thought, he looked at Cat's tear-streaked face, then at Sophie, who seemed tencaious and quixotic, but not nearly as tortured as Cat.

ON THE RUN...

Catarina groaned inwardly as Kendall draped his arm over her shoulder. She knew that Kendall was just trying to comfort her, but she really couldn't stand his weak attempt. She stood up and streched briskly, then wiped her sleeve over her watery, red eyes. She walked into their hotel room, and stared at the mess that she and Sophie had made when they had been bickering. This sight brought back the irritating memory, and she quickly rubbed her eyes again. She didn't want to apologize to Sophie for what she had done-more less, she didn't want to allow Sophie to feel that she had been the victor of their fight. Cat didn't realize how immature she was acting-worse, she thought Sophie was being the brattiest of the pair.

She knelt down, and opened the mini-fridge, which greeted her with an amusing cold blast of air. She closed her eyes, and sighed with relief.
Finally, some cool air. I really need to turn on the air conditioning in here. She took a baggie of purple grapes from the fridge, them slammed it shut. She ripped open the plastic bag, and popped a grape into her mouth. She belly-flopped onto the bed, then snatched the telivision remote from the nightstand, and turned on the news. As soon as they began naming the acussed-Kendall, Catarina, and Sophie Garner-she immediatly switched the channel to a cooking show.

Well, at least this was better than the news report of the falsly accused Kendall Garner who went ballistic and supposedly killed his father.

Sophie watched as Cat stormed into the hotel room. She shrugged and turned to Kendall "What happened to getting breakfast?" she asked before tagging behind Cat and sliding into their room. Looking at the TV her eyes narrowed at what Cat had decided on, but realized Cat was not in the mood to be questioned. She sunk onto the bed and picked up the phone on the nightstand. Pressing a number, she was quickly connected to a man to take her order. She simply ordered two cheese burgers and a salad for Cat, while being slightly annoyed by the man's politeness. Within minutes there was a knock at their door. A man entered and set down their food and left. Sophie picked up Cat's food and placed it in front of her without a word and curled up in the bed and mutely gorged down her food.

(Bad post! Sorry!)
