Jung In was adopted at a young age by wealthy parents from the United States. He's grown up in the US for as long as he can remember. He doesn't know much about his heritage but he knows his mother gave him up for good reason. She knew she couldn't take care of him in a way that would be beneficial to him so she gave him up for adoption when he was just a baby. Eventually, he learned that his mother was a "lady of the night". He was never upset with her for giving him up, but he does hope to meet her one day.

He grew up in a very lavish environment, but never got arrogant. He understood that he came from wealth and tried to use it to bring smiles to other people. He uses his "allowance" to fund charities and spoil his friends who don't have as much as he does. He usually tries to spend as much of his allowance as possible as he doesn't like the fact that he has so much while others don't. He tends to budget his expenses to a few hundred dollars instead of just spending as much as he pleases.

As he grew older, he became distant from his parents after the loss of his Grandfather (whom he was very close with). His parents had never had a great relationship with his dad's father but Jung In did. They bonded through music and sang many songs together throughout his childhood. When his mother made a passing comment about it being good that his Grandfather finally passed, Jung In became enraged. He couldn't believe that his parents, who had only ever shown him love, could be so heartless towards his Grandfather.

He packed up his stuff and officially moved into the college's apartment. He was smart enough to receive full tuition from scholarships to his university. There he met his roommate who got him into Digimon. He started to pour most of his free time into Digimon and music, and even won the title of Champion Tamer at the Digimon World Tournament. Yet, he suddenly disappeared after the ceremony. With few friends and his estranged relationship with his parents, many thought that he just skipped town or, even worse, died. Although, those who knew his parents say that they only wish for their son's safe return.

Keith was born in Sapporo, a bustling city in northern Japan. At the age of three, his family moved overseas and settled in Manchester– his father's hometown. His father introduced him to the wonders of a traditional English breakfast. His mother made an effort to include traditional Japanese cuisine in his diet. Growing up, Keith became bilingual.

He was more proficient in English than Japanese, but he was fluent in both. In addition, his mother taught him sign language. His father taught him Morse code.

After his tenth birthday, Keith lost his father in a car accident. While he survived the crash, his father died on impact. It left a permanent scar (a gash over his left eyebrow, splitting it in half) on his face. Once he recovered from the accident, his mother packed their belongings and moved back to Sapporo.

The first friend he made in Japan introduced him to Digimon. The game reminded him of his late father. His father used to be a huge nerd and got him into video games. Feeling nostalgic, Keith poured his heart and soul into the game. Once he grew older, he participated in tournaments.

One year ago, a mysterious accident claimed his mother's life. The police deemed it faulty cables. However, Keith suspected foul play.

How can an elevator with no history of poor maintenance fall down and crash?

It reminded him of the car accident that claimed his father. Both incidents were suspicious. Unfortunately, the police dismissed his conspiracies as grief. Despite the devastating loss, Keith moved forward and entered his second year in college.

At some point, Keith entered the Digimon World Tournament and made it to the finals. Since his mother's favorite animal was a fox, Keith honored her memory and chose to compete with the Renamon evolution line.

Everything changed when he stepped on stage and waited for the announcer to declare the winner...
