Realistic or Modern Of Axes and Dragons

She frowned and pulled away a little. “Not like this. Not right now.” She told him quietly, placing a hand on his chest and took a step back, using the time in the shower to clean up and think about her day.

Ivar shrugged. “I don’t know. Didn’t think this far ahead… this is a business dealing. Wasn’t worried about the personal stuff.” He told her frowning. “I have to go up into the office today though. You could join me if you like. Go get dinner afterwards?” He suggested.

Daemon frowned deeply but stepped back. He washed himself quickly and got out without another word. He dried off and stormed to his study slamming the door shut. He tried, he thought maybe since their conversation thet could try to become closer. In his head though he was obviously wrong.

Max gave a small nod and smiled softly "Yeah...that sounds nice." She said softly before sipping her drink a bit "So what part of the business do you handle?"

She finished getting cleaned up and went to check in on the kids, getting the three of them up. “Two more days then back to school guys. You wanna do anything with the rest of your time off? Eliza isn’t working today. So you got me all day.” She told them, not allowing them to see her upset when they all sounded disappointed.

He shrugged a little. “Shipments of parts. Accounts.” He told her. “Not unlike what your cousin does. Only for our company. Not his.” He muttered.

Lana frowned softly as she looked at her mom "Could we go to the aquarium?" She asked softly running to hug her legs. She had been the accidental baby, not planned and definitely younger than her brothers.

Max nodded softly and frowned at the mention of her cousin "I see." She said softly before finishing her drink "Would you like anything to eat? I could make you breakfast." She offered wanting to stay on his good side.

He shook his head. “I’m good thank you. Help yourself to anything though… I want you to be comfortable here Maxine. I don’t know if we will ever love each other but o don’t want you uncomfortable in your own home. Which this is now “ he told her seriously.

She shrugged but nodded and pat her head. “If you go ask your father he might say yes to joining us.” She told her. It would only be up to her. If either of the boys asked it would be an instant no. “Once you guys finish breakfast go get dressed.”

Max gave a small nod and gave a faint smile "Thank you Ivar." She said softly before goijg through the fridge settling on some yogurt for herself. She went to get dressed after eating finding Ivar yelling loudly in his room. She bit her lip hard before going to the door and knocking "Ivar? Are you okay?"

Lana smiled happily and nodded before running off to get dressed. She knocked on her Dad's study once breakfast was done poking her head in "Daddy?"

Daemon perked his head up when he heard his little girl's voice "Hey there princess, come in, come in." He said motioning her to come to him

She rushed over to him and waited til he was lifting her to sit on his lap. “Mummy is going to take us to the aquarium. Are you coming with us?” She asked him quietly, a small mark on her cheek still from where her brother had hit her yesterday.

He had simply walked into doorway to his en-suite but he was sure he’d done a couple ribs by doing it. “You can come in!” He called to her, shuffling to sit down on his bed, holding his side

Daemon lifted her onto his lap and gave a small frown when he noticed the mark on her face "The aquarium? Well that sounds intriguing. Are you going to help me learn all the fish?" He said smiling as she giggled and nodded "Well, go tell you mother that I'll be down there to join you in 30 minutes okay? I need to finish some paperwork." He murmured before kissing her marked cheek gently "Tell your brother to come see me as well."

Max walked into his room and looked around for a moment before her eyes landed on him "I heard you yell, are you okay?" She asked him gently. She had no idea of his condition, only that he had a crutch which she assumed was from some kind of leg injury from the business.

She just nodded and got down to go back downstairs and give the messages, sending Havi up to see him

He frowned and walked up slowly, knowing he was going to be in trouble, finally making it to the study and stepped inside frowning some. At 12 years old he was finally old enough to be aware of his fathers dealings and definitely old enough to hate him for it.

He shook his head and sighed a little. “I walked into the doorframe. I don’t… my bones can break very easily and as you can imagine it is very painful.”

Daemon looked up from his paperwork when he heard another knock at the door. He sat up straighter as his second eldest walked into the room "Your mother tells me you layed a hand to your sister...by the welt on her face I can only presume its true." He said in a stern voice.

Max frowned softly but nodded as she moved to sit beside him "Brittle Bone Disease?" She asked softly watching him nod while taking deep breaths "Is there anything I can do right now to help? Any medication I can get you or someone I can call?" She asked seeing he was holding his rib area.

He shook his head “Some painkillers in the drawer. I will have my doctor tape them soon.” He told her quietly. “You are not didgusted?” He asked.

Havi frowned. “She came in here without permission. She was colouring papers on your desk. I only did what you would have.” He snapped.

Max frowned softly and got up getting his pain medication "Why would I be? Its a condition that cannot be helped. I am more curious as to why you are the only person in your family that has it. I've heard it is hereditary." She explained quietly handing him his medicine bottle giving him a small smile.

Daemon frowned deeply and shook his head some "I would not have smacked her across the face!" He bellowed before standing up from his chair "If you EVER lay a hand on another member in this family you will have worse consequences, do I make myself clear?" He said in an almost threatening tone.

He shrugged and dry swallowed a couple pills. “I don’t know. Drew the short straw.” He told her quietly.

Carmen heard the shouting but just sighed and shook her head waiting tik they both came down and she glanced over at Daemon, shaking her head some. “Right. Car. We’ll take the big one.” She muttered, just sighing when Leif their eldest at 15 made a snarky remark about obviously if they were all going to fit

Max gave a small nod frowning when he swallowed the pills dry "Ya know its not good for you swallow pills without water." She said before sitting with him "I want you to know though...your disability doesn't phase me, and if you need help with it in any way I'll help you."

Daemon came down a few minutes later and picked up Lana when she asked. He frowned at Leif's remark "Watch your tongue boy, show your mother respect." He muttered as they got to the garage.

She frowned and just sent him a look before getting into the car and waiting for him to get in the drivers side. “It would be nice if we could have a day without arguments for once before you’re all back at school.” She muttered.

Ivar simply nodded. “Thank you. I will let you know.” He muttered, carrying on with his morning once the pain had gone down, finding her in the library once he was ready to go to the city for his meeting. “Would you still like to join me?” He asked her.

Daemon got in the driver's seat and gave a heavy sigh at her comment. When they finally arrived at the aquarium Lana was tugging his hand excitedly towards the door "Lana darling calm down. You'll yank my arm out of socket." He teased giving a small chuckle. He usually was very conservative in public, keeping a stoic face at all times. Again though, he did have a soft spot for his daughter.

Max found herself in the library later that morning looking over a book of their gods reading intently. It was quite similar to the faith she had grown up in, but there were a lot of differences as well. She looked up when she heard Ivar's voice and gave a small nod "Yes, let me get my shoes." She said giving him a soft smile.

He smiled seeing what she was reading. “Did you ever have discussions with carmen about the differences?” He asked her curiously, “between our gods that is.” He mumbled while he watched her get her shoes on.

Carmen watched them sighing a little while he laughed with their youngest. “After 20 years I still don’t understand your father.” She muttered to Havi. “What happened upstairs?” She asked him frowning

Max walked to get her shoes shaking her head some "A bit, but not much. Daemon didn't want her talking to me about it. He didn't much like me learning things outside of the family." She explained giving a small shrug "He wanted to try and keep me a pure Targaryen, stupid I know." She explained

Havi frowned deeply as he watched them "He got mad that I hit his little princess...he would have done the same to either of us if he had caught us coloring on papers in his office. Yet she gets off the hook."

She sighed and shook her head. “Havi you cannot go around hitting your sister. You have two options with her. Either treat her like your father has you and she will learn to despise you both. Or be grateful for her sake that he is not the same man he was while you both were small… I want you to look out for her. I know our family is far from conventional but it’s what we have.” She sighed a little.

Ivar nodded to her. “He was a mystery when he married my cousin 20 years ago and he remains that way now… hopefully working with him will prove useful.” He muttered and went to the car with her getting in the back with her and leaned against the seats. “Here are drinks in the side if you want. Our driver is Sven.”

Havi sighed heavily and shook his head some "Its not fair Mom! He still treats us like crap! You both do! You send us off to stupid school and never see us." He spat before walking ahead of her to catch up with his older brother.

Max got in the car with him and grabbed a soda from the side "He is....just don't under estimate or turn your back to him." She said before sipping at the drink.

She sighed heavily and rubbed at her face. She had never really wanted kids. It had just been expected of her but once each child was born she adored them only to have the family insist on them going to boarding school the moment they could, the same way every child in the family did. She knew a lot of their problems were her fault but she was still angry with Daemon for a lot of it as well. She caught up with the eventually and walked with Daemon, "Havi is certainly a teenager now. He's very angry at the world." She sighed a little.

Ivar nodded "Oh I'm aware. I don't know how much he is underestimating me though." He muttered and went quiet after that, just staring out of the window until they arrived, "Feel free to go where you like but please be back at this building by six pm. Then we will go for dinner." He told her, "If you need to be driven, call Sven, I have texted you his number. He is available fo ryou to use as you need unless I have specifiedx otherwise." He explained

Daemon looked at Carmen as she came by his side "I see that....we'll figure it out." He muttered watching as Leif held Lana's hand "At least Leif protects them." He murmured taking her hand in his for the first time in forever.

Max gave a small nod smiling softly at him "I'll be here at six on the dot." She said quietly before they pulled up to their offices. She helped him out just a bit and gave a small smile "I'll see you later."

She nodded and sighed a little, letting him sort the tickets as they arrived at the entrance then just followed everyone around, smiling a little as he took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. It was encouraging that he seemed to be working on them.

Ivar had his meetings and came out, smiling seeing her back there. Whether they would ever love each other was still up for debate but already he liked her and admired her. “I have a question that has been burning since we got married yesterday.” He told her

Daemon paid for them all to get in and followed the kids inside. He glanced over at his wife as she squeezed his hand giving the faintest of smiles before turning his attention back to the children. He watched intently around them marking anyone who looked suspicious mentally as they made their way through. He was definitely a targetted man, and every outing made him even more of one.

Max arrived at 6 on the dot like she had said. She gave Ivar a smile as he came out and waved slightly "Hello to you too." She said with a small laugh before opening the car door and helping him inside "What is your question?" She asked as she sat beside him letting Sven close the door for her.

She frowned and sighed a little. This was what drove her mad. The need he had to never be relaxed or calm. He was always on alert and she’d been sick of it for years.

“As a Targaryen…. Why is your hair black? It’s always been well documented that your whole family looks more Scandinavian than mine does.” He chuckled.
