Realistic or Modern Of Axes and Dragons

She nodded and frowned. “It doesn’t feel real. He should’ve outlived both of us.” She muttered.

Ivar groaned quietly but by the time the help arrived he had blacked out and stopped breathing, Hvitserk arriving not long after that.

Daemon gave a small nod sighing heavily "I know my love, if I could take his place I would." He told her truthfully

Max looked at Hvitserk with a scared look "Hvitserk." She said quietly as the nurses came in to check him over.

She frowned and shook her head. “But then I would be without a husband and three resentful children. I want all of you not to swap you for each other.” She told him quietly, sitting down tiredly, looking up ehearing a very sleepy ‘mummy’ come from the hallway and she called that they were in the kitchen, looking up and seeing a very tired Lana shuffling in. “Hey baby, you okay?” She asked her.

Hvitserk frowned glaring at her, ignoring the nurses working on his brother for now. “You told Ivar to pull out of helping carmen? Fuck your cojsin, you pulled out of helping carmen and supporting them after they’ve lost our nephew?!” He questioned her.

Lana grumbled some and reached to be picked up "Mummy..." she grumbled softly nuzzling her face in Carmen's neck when she picked her up "Can I have juice?" She slurred barely even awake and soon asleep against her again.

Daemon chuckled quietly at his little girl and smiled pushing some hair from her face "She looks so much like you."

Max frowned deeply and stepped out of the room with him "I understand that they lost their son, we have given them protection but I know Daemon. If you give to him now, he will continue to take and take from your family."

She smiled a little and just kissed her head. “The best accident we’ve ever had.” She murmured tiredly, not minding that it was straining her bad shoulder to hold her. “She looks like my mother.” She told him quietly. “She was fierce and strong and loyal to the end. She promised that I would always have a piece of her with me and now o see her all the time in Lana.” She murmured. “I’m just glad the boys look like you and not my father.” She mumbled.

He grit his teeth and glared at her. “You are spoilt. You can dye your hair your entire life but you can never hide that you are a Targaryen. That selfish part of you that only comes out at the worst of times. I hope my brother never has to deal with that.” He spat at her feet then left again.

Daemon smiled softly and gave a small nod "Yes she is." He murmured before reaching for her while he listened to Carmen "It would have been nice to have one child with darker hair, stick out a little." He chuckled "Let me take her, so you don't hurt your arm."

Max glared at him shaking her head a bit. She went back into the room and sighed heavily. She looked at the nurse seeing Ivar stable "Is he okay? What happened?"

She nodded and gently passed her over, kissing his cheek and going to check on Leif, knocking before entering and sat down on his bed watching him playing video games. “Hey, what kind of pizza do you want?” She asked him quietly. “Your sister is asleep and me and your father don’t care so your pick this time.” She told him quietly.

He looked over at her exhausted as they had given him a new IV. ‘The new meds reacted badly with him. They’re working on what mixture is going to work best.’ She explained to her, doing one more set of checks then left them to privacy again.

Leif looked at his mother and frowned deeply his eyes red and puffy from crying on and off "Father says it was Aunt Alicent...why?! Why would she do such a thing?! He was only a child!"

Max gave a small nod and thanked his nurse before turning her attention to Ivar. "It looks as though I will be the black mark on your family as well. None of your brothers are happy with me asking you to back away."

She frowned and moved to hold him close as much as she could. “I don’t know sweetheart, she’s always been fuckin nuts but never dangerous… not til now.” She mumbled.

He frowned and watched her. “What are you talking about?” He mumbled, barely keeping his eyes open and still aching, just watching her confused.

Leif gave a small nod before taking a deep breath "Dad won't talk to me about his next plan of action. I need to know what he plans to do to make things right." He told her seriously looking exactly like Daemon in that moment.

Max gave a small frown but shook her head softly "Don't worry about it right now, rest love." She said quietly before kissing his forehead gently

He frowned and managed to give her hand a squeeze before passing out for the night.

She frowned and smoothed his hair back. “I don’t know that right now is the best time to get you into the business sweetheart. He’s worried about keeping you safe. At least until after the funeral.” She told him.

Leif gave a heavy sigh but nodded a bit "Alright then." He murmured before running a hand over his face "Could we can hawaiian pizza?"

She nodded and smiled a little at him, kissing his head and left him to it for now while she got the food ordered, sending one of their guys to go pick it up and just spent the rest of the evening keeping her family close.

Ivar woke up early in the morning groaning to himself a little, already in a bad mood until he saw max sat there with a book. “I want to go home.” He mumbled.

Daemon woke up that next morning groaning softly. He'd had a little too much to drink with his dinner and while he was not one to have hangovers, his head was definitely pounding. He sighed softly seeing Carmen awake already looking like she had barely slept "How long did you sleep?"

Max looked over at Ivar the next morning and smiled softly seeing him awake. She placed her book down and took his hand in hers "Good morning to you too. They'll let us go once they know the medicine is working for you love."

She shrugged. “Not much. You were snoring pretty loud.” She told him quietly, moving to lay closer to him and rubbed his chest gently.

He nkdddd tiredly and pat the spot on the edge of the bed “come here. I want my wife.” He murmured

Daemon frowned gently wrapping his arms around her as she cuddled up to him "That the only thing that kept you awake?"

Max smiled softly and moved to sit next to him "Your eyes aren't as blue today." She said softly as she cupped his cheek looking at him with complete admiration.

She frowned a little and shook her head. “My shoulder hurts too, couldn’t get comfy…. Thinking about the kids… You think they’re done trying to get to us?” She asked him frowning. “Or will they keep trying to hurt our babies?”

He smiled and leaned into her touch. “Hopefully that means it’s working…. I think the years of painkillers is catching up to my body.” He mumbled, moving to place a hand on her tummy. “You really think we got a little one in there?” He asked her quietly.

Daemon frowned gently and gave a heavy sigh "I'm not sure my love, but I don't think so." He said softly kissing the top of her head gently

Max sighed heavily but kissed him gently "I know for a fact we do. They gave me the test results just a few hours ago." She said happily

He smiled and watched her, kissing her happily "At least my body can do one thing right." He chuckled but soon winced and stopped, holding her close, "I love you... So very much." He murmjured.

She frowned and just nodded, laying there with him for a while until she heard Leif and Lana chatting in the kitchen an she got up to go see them, heading down there and smiled seeing them making breakfast "You helping your brother?" She asked her youngest.

Max gave a small laugh but smiled happily at him "Careful....I love you too Ivar..so very very much." She said softly before kissing him gently again

Daemon followed her out and smiled happily seeing the two of them. He chuckled as Lana giggled and nodded at her mother "So what are you making?"

Leif shrugged looking over seeing his dad laying his hands on his moms waist and frowned some until Lana and carmen had gone to get some juice out the garage. “What’s going on? Are you and mom back together?” He asked him. Though they’d never officially separated things had been separate in their house for the past ten years at least.

He smiled and watched her. “I can hear her coming.” He told her quietly, the sounds of a worried voice carrying down the hall and then a much calmer deeper voice alongside it, until it got to outside his room and he looked over seeing his parents walking in just sighing a little.

Daemon gave a small nod and chuckled quietly "It's very complicated, but we are working on things." He explained quietly to his son. He sighed softly as he just rolled his eyes and went off as well. He went to set up their little breakfast table smiling as Lana came skipping in holding the juice carton.

Max gave a heavy sigh hearing his mother's voice echoing in the halls. She put a small smile on her face as they entered the room "Hello Aslaug....Ragnar." she said quietly

He frowned some as the sudden influx of stress wasn’t really doing him any good and he just kept pressing the button for painkillers, groaning when nothing was happening. “Mother. Father. What are you doing here?” He muttered.

Carmen came back in and got all the food onto the table going to collect Leif. “Hey, come sit down honey.” She coaxed, managing a smile as he suddenly hugged her tightly. “Hey, hey what’s wrong? You okay?” She asked him worried, “gods you’re getting tall.”

Aslaug frowned deeply sending a glare towards Maxine "Your brother was nice enough to call us and tell us you were in the hospital unlike someone..." she muttered

Leif looked at his mom and hugged her tightly "I love you mom....please don't let him hurt you again." He said quietly to her just keeping close for a minute.

She sighed a little and rubbed his back. “Look at me, it’s okay, I know you worry but I can promise you that your father is getting back to being the how he was when you were little… I think… the past couple weeks have put a lot of things into perspective for him.” She promised.

Ivar frowned and shook his head. “Then he’s an ass because I’ve told all of them not to.” He told her, gripping at maxs hand as a pain shot through his chest “really you don’t need to be here mother. I’m not a child… anymore.” He mutterss
