Later when he was 6 1/2 his mom died of cancer and he was sent to live with his uncle and aunt. However his uncle was a drunk and was constantly beating both his nephew and his wife. Regardless, the young boy would desperately try to protect her, but was only beaten more harshly. Eventually his uncle and aunt died in a car crash and, having no other living relatives, he was placed in O'Donnelly's Home for Orphaned Children

How you ended up here/Backstory: Well, the thing is, Allen was never a long time patient. Allen, for most of his life, was a fairly normal kid with a slightly dysfunctional family. His father was a very abusive man, going so far as for his mother to divorce him and take full custody of Allen for their own livelihood and safety. Allen had been severely beaten by his father in the past, enough so that he and his mother had been sent to the hospital on a few occasions. His mother, after this whole experience was over, forced him to take self defense classes and martial arts. Allen is currently a second degree black belt in Ju Jitsu, and a gold tiger in Yang Family Tai Chi. He has thankfully never had to really use these skills outside of sparring our small tournaments, but he has them never the less (he is far from a ninja). His mother passed away of cancer as he turned eighteen, and his father's whereabouts are completely unknown. So he is a legal orphan. However, his mother had consented to his joining of the military at age seventeen (that is a thing, look it up). As he became a legal adult he was sent to the middle east by the military, successfully becoming a Navy Seal and has been sent off on tour. However, after a few firefights he took an assault rifle round to his leg which shattered his femur. He was sent back to the USA with a Purple Heart medal and got proper medical care, and is still currently recovering. It is currently unknown whether his leg will ever reach 100%, and if he is not, he will be honorably discharged. Due to his experience over seas, he has developed PTSD. His battle wound having caused a major emergency in his squad, along with him witnessing a few deaths and being the cause for many. He was sent to the Odonnelly's home for rehabilitation mentally, and as this enterprise continued his physical trauma came to the light as old childhood memories surface.

Despite his debilitating mental condition, Allen has chosen the route of appearing, acting, and simply taking the route of being a normal person. From his life experience if you act something (for example, confident) you BECOME confident. He applies this logic to his mind. He knows his limitations, but he believes if he acts strong and normal, than he'll be strong and normal. He tries to be funny and tries to be outgoing (He's a terrible flirt and it's quite funny to watch him try) and in a way, he is. He's an odd mixture of a person. From afar you will see him as someone you dont want to approach (a big muscular man with a shaved head that looks like he could beat up a bouncer) but ends up approaching you asking if you want to go fishing and if so would you like to go with him. Most of this is his fear of being alone. He wants to make friends he feels he can open up to about his mental state. He doesnt want to fight his internal battle alone. Therapy care is great and all, but only a friend or family member can offer a shoulder to cry on. And he lacks one of those entirely and wants to get the other.
