Nah, Jefferson, we're just busy with life. But I'm really trying to think up of a new, exciting character. One that will partially explain William's hidden religious fervor that contrasts with his love of magic. There is a deep history between William and the Archbishop. And the Archbishop has a history with the heretic bishop.

The knight bishop... haven't thought much about him. He was forced into the office of Bishop because he was part of the royal family that held a stake on the throne of Mercia. So when he was appointed as bishop, his claims to the throne were effectively neutralized. Maybe he's acting like a fool that drinks and whores his way to happiness because he lost the throne. Maybe he sacrificed a lot to get far in life only to have everything snatched away from him. Poor bastard.

I like the sound of that. We need more religious figures than just the Grand Father.

it makes sense for people to find comfort in their faith considering what's going on.

To the far west, where the Kingdom of Mercia lies, there's a collection of many empires that are fighting each other for dominance. Emperors who head their vast empires send their armies to fight their rebellious kings. Kings who have their kingdoms send their armies to fight their rebellious earls and dukes. Earls and dukes that have their earldoms and dukedoms send their armies to fight against their rebellious lords.

Well, basically, everybody is at each other's throats. It's pure chaos. Even when you don't go into secular politics there's some religious warfare going on in the kingdoms. There are magic-users who are viewed as persons of mass destruction, so most normal people just want to kill them. The church encourages this behavior, saying that magic is against the will of god. And even within the church, sometimes priests and monks fight among themselves due to differences in their beliefs.

Since there is so much war going on, violent men like Earl William are needed by everyone. The heads of state battle are constantly engaging in war against their adversaries from the outside, the rebels in the inside, and the threat of magic all at once. Ironically, it was with the invasion of the demons that everybody stopped killing each other and banded together against this new threat. The demons came to kill all of mankind but instead saved them from killing themselves.

Ah, the irony of it all.

Well, that's a glimpse into Mercian politics.

I NEEED TO POST FOR MARX

BUT I AM SO LAZY AND PROCRASTINATEY

AHHHHHHHHH

Holy shit I actually did the post. xD

I can now wait until I have to do the next one yaaaaaaay! >XD

*Heisenberg places a wall of text in OOC chat*

Ok, where is everybody? Damn, it looks like I've going to have to switch the Point of View to other characters at this point. That's so I can get this roleplay up and running again. I was hoping that I would only get to control Earl William because controlling multiple characters at once and giving them their own POV might be a pain in the ass. But it looks like I don't have a choice.

Currently, Mason is still in the forest of demons and maybe he can do the one-on-one for William. He's not as young as William, but he's quite the fighter. Just don't kill him though, he's a main character. @Destructus Kloud

Mason's Past

In the past, Mason was your typical mercenary that nearly met his end when some of his own buddies robbed him and left him for dead in the streets. So here he was, lying against the wall of a nearby house, bleeding to death. The young William was accompanying his father so he could see how a lord dealt with the peasants in the village.

William, by chance, saw the mercenary Mason with blood gushing at his side. So, in a moment of compassion, William ordered his servants to take Mason in and heal his wounds. William's father, the brutal Earl Regan, thought that this was a futile effort. Mason had already lost a lot of blood, and it looked like he was going to die soon. But this was one tough son of a bitch we're talking about and he was stubbornly clinging on to life even if he was bleeding like a pig. Not a lot of people had that willpower. So the Earl Regan decided to take Mason in to show William how a real man faces death.

After a long grueling trek back to their castle, the man was still alive, and he still had a lot of blood in him. They managed to slow the bleeding down, but they were only delaying the inevitable. One of the servants suggested putting Mason out of his misery, since keeping him alive would only prolong the pain. The late Earl Regan punched that servant, and ordered him to be given ten lashings. He said that if nobody has the right to tell a man how he lives, nobody should have the right to tell a man how he dies.

The servant asked why should he be given lashings. Earl Regan responded that pain is the greatest teacher. And the greatest pain that exists is the pain that leaves a mark on you forever.

William, Mason, and the late Earl Regan arrived at the castle and they put Mason in a room. Everybody drove themselves mad trying to heal Mason. One of the healers specialized in herbal medicines, and put a few leaves on Mason's wound and that seemed to work a little. That bought them a little more time. Another healer suggested that dung be placed on the wound. At this suggestion, Earl Regan drew his sword and sliced the doctor's head off. The late Earl Regan had his own suggestion, try using the blood of that stupid healer to compensate for Mason's own blood loss.

(Ok, now we know where William got his violence from. That's from his father.)

Everyone, including Mason himself, was baffled at this suggestion.

Mason protested, saying that if he used the blood of that idiot healer as a substitute, there was a good chance he might become an idiot as well. The late Earl Regan didn't see a problem in living as an idiot, but Mason protested again, saying he'd rather die than get the blood of that idiot healer. Oh, and Mason wasn't some goddamned vampire.

And so since nobody in the castle really studied medicine, and all they had were quacks, everybody came up with outrageous methods to heal Mason. Several maids tried to heal Mason with the power of their kisses, and while that succeeded in arousing Mason, that didn't had any direct effect on the wound. Still, Mason said they were welcome to try some more. They say that laughter is the best medicine, so they sent in a jester to try to get Mason to laugh. The jester's first move was to throw pie in Earl Regan's face. Earl Regan with his superior understanding of slapstick comedy, drew his sword and cut the jester's head off.

Mason requested that Earl Regan stop beheading people already. Besides, he was supposed to save a life today, so why was he so hell-bent on killing people?

Earl Regan made no reply.

Several more attempts were made, which included spitting at his wound (which disgusted Mason), playing music (which Mason enjoyed), and finally Earl Regan beheading one last person.

(Damn, William's father, the late Earl Regan had his own title, the Decapitator or the Guillotine.)

Finally, the servant who was lashed just hours ago came into the room. He was exhausted and he could barely stand, but he came to suggest one last thing. He said that they must bandage Mason up and let the wounds heal by itself. Earl Regan protested, saying that they have to try one last time. The servant responded that time heals all wounds.

Earl Regan was impressed. He gave the servant he lashed ten hours ago some land for himself. And some money of course. The late Earl Regan had a reputation for having mood swings, he could easily get mad and then he could just as easily switch from anger to happiness to sadness. He was unpredictable. Everyone had to put up with that. William himself was often confused when his father would smack him and then apologize a few moments later. It was... scary. You never knew if he was going to kill you or if he was going to reward you.

Oh, and he had a thing for slicing people's heads off.

Back on topic, Mason was bandaged and then put in a room where he was left to die... or heal... nobody knew. Everybody expected him to die the next day, and it really looked like he was going to die the next few hours. But everyone was praying for a miracle, that Mason would be healed. Earl Regan told the priest of this, and the priest told everyone in the church to pray for Mason. And so everybody prayed for Mason's wounds to heal.

That night, one of William's heretic friends, a girl of great magic power sneaked inside the castle and entered the room where this Mason character was in. The bastard was still alive and there was some hope. The girl cast a healing spell on Mason and hoped that would do the trick. She left the room and left the castle.

Mason's Story Ending

There are two versions to how this story ends I don't know which one is better or more plausible so I'll ask you which one is better.

The first is simple and it makes sense. Mason did say that he was always loyal to the Regan family in his character sheet. I might go with this one. This does not break off from Mason's character at all. It fits the bill. I can explain more of the first ending if you want but I've been thinking of an alternative ending to Mason's story.

1.) Mason recovers. Everybody is overjoyed that they have witnessed a miracle and that Mason's wounds not only healed but Mason has never felt so lively before. The Earl Regan takes Mason as William's personal servant. And Mason has been William's personal servant ever since.

The second one? I'm not sure if real people can act this way. So I'm asking you if this could work. Can a person exhibit true loyalty after having betrayed you before so many times? Also, I'm kind of getting tired of William always entering into dangerous situations. This guy... seriously... needs a break. There are also too many coincidences. William just somehow keeps bumping into Mason for no fucking reason other than being plot driven. Or maybe I can get something out of this ending, I just have to remove the parts that don't make sense.

2.) Mason recovers and kidnaps William for ransom. William was only ten years old at the time but he was still significantly badass. But Mason was no slouch either so he managed to get William under control. So Mason ties William to a tree and sends the Regan family a note demanding payment in exchange for their son. Earl Regan, having no money, offers to pay him by giving him the teeth of his slain enemies, and he even proposes that he could make teeth necklaces out of them.

The negotiations get nowhere and in the meantime, William is kidnapped again while Mason and Earl Regan aren't looking. This time, it was by criminals who run some slave trading gig. But then they sold William to a cult that loved human sacrifices. Mason could have abandoned William to his fate, but he felt guilty that he was turning his back on the same person who saved his life. So he set out to rescue William from those madmen by traveling all over Mercia to find his whereabouts. Earl Regan heard the same thing and set out to find William.

When Mason found William, he was about to be offered to Dogar and Kazon, some gods of blood. There were dozens of these bastards all over the place, and Mason was about to give it all up until he noticed William break free from his ties, grab a knife and slaughter several cultists. God, he knew this was no ordinary boy. The cultists were pleased that someone had the nerve to offer more sacrifices to the blood gods, but they still had to make a child sacrifice to make the ritual complete.

William fought them off like a rabid dog, but they eventually surrounded him and it was all over. One of the cultists is about to stab William in the back when Mason jumps in and cuts the cultist down with his sword. Mason quickly grabs William and they run deep into the woods. The cultists lose them and William is safe for now.

And so... there are many many misadventures that William and Mason experience on their way back to Regan castle. But they make it and they part ways.

At this stage, Mason is in his twenties and he is more of a scoundrel than the loyal servant he became years later. William and Mason are always bickering about something, and it's surprising that their relationship ended up being what it is now. A servant-master relationship.

Mason and William meet up years later when William is disowned by his father for heresy. An unforgiveable sin. This is because he was found to have sheltered a woman that could use magic. He has also slain the Church's Executioners, the people who hunt down mages, but William has also slain some mages in an attempt to show that he is not a heretic. It failed. Well, William is now officially an outcast, a pariah. Everybody hates him. The church hates him for sheltering heretics and killing their best men. And the heretics hate him for killing some of their own people and some of their mages.

So William is disowned and hated by all... He wanders inside a village where he finds Mason fighting with several other men. These men turned out to be Mason's mercenary buddies who nearly killed him so many years back. William joins in the fight, saves Mason's ass, and kills all the mercenaries.

William demands that Mason serve him as compensation for saving his life. Mason tells him to kiss his ass and leaves.

Months later, William and Mason find themselves serving under the same commander, Earl Richard. And so begins the many adventures that will eventually make William the master and Mason the servant...

God, so much story. I'm glad this is all over. All right, well, ask your questions.

I'm a little tired right now so I decided to not read the wall of text, but i read the first part concerning me.

I'm fine with doing a 1v1 with Mason, just do a post in which you stumble across me and we can do battle. : D

Marx is about to reach village number something. Forest demons are in the forest with William's army. William, the titan, the dead demon titan, Aegon, the princess, a general, the grand father and basically most people are outside the west gates of Goldenview after the battle that just happened. You're running through the six with your woes, and some girl, towards Goldenview. Kharn is in Hell, so is Gemwise, Shani, Aegon's father and The Great Dark One. There you go have fun bye xD

Also.....Why the hell can't we make any more hosted projects now.........This makes me really mad now.

Hmmmmm, Where is everyone?

Maybe they got eaten by demons.

Huh, you're right. That Wolfenstein guy has no chance against all of us put together.
