Powers I Dont Want:

Anything that's useless in combat situations.

Is this your actual list? This can be a list way longer than 25 given the situation but also way shorter than 25 if you're creative/smart enough.

Seriously. Unless your sheet is unfinished, this section might as well have been called Schrodinger's Power List.

Hey, is our memories still wiped like the last Roleplay? If so, why do we have Likes/Dislikes since we have no memory whatsoever? Without any memories, our characters don't particularly have any preferences to anything since well, the character do not have the memories to support their likes and dislikes.

I would've, but the list I made before, and by before I mean the original RP, was good enough already, to be honest, and I don't feel like doing it again since all the powers lack a proper description now. I don't have the time to look them all up either since exams are coming up.

i guess your right. i should try to give descriptions to each power, although that would take forever

Ahh. I see. Well, at least you liked your old list. Exams are pretty time consuming. But to lend a hand:

- Aesthetic Alteration

- Amplify

- Auto Motion Control

- Balance Manipulation

- Friction Manipulation

- Language Conundrum

- Microwave Manipulation

- Paradox Inducement

- Pheromone Manipulation

- Power Sense

- Soma

- Viral Duplication

Hope this helps.

I kinda wanted players to have a more extensive view on what powers they could acually get

So Akio, you didn't answer my question so here it is again:

Oh yea, sorry. Yes your memories are wiped, but your likes and dislikes stay the same. You just don't know it. It's mainly for me to get a better perspective on your characters personality

I feel like the old power list was good and left things a bit more open to interpretation. When you are given a specific slice like that, it's really limiting. It takes the story from being an action narrative driven by the creativity of the powers to "I'm strong because ____."

Lets say that you rolled mimicry. But instead of being open to copying what you see or certain actions within reason, now you can just be a fish. That's not helpful and makes mimicry seem a bit bullshit.

Can you explain a bit more on how the powers are going to be assigned?

I'd really hate for this to be a straightforward and unimaginative "my power level is higher" kind of roleplay.

im making it so that you will start out with what i call a "basic ability". this assign you the field of what your abilities are. like if your a mind type, you will start out with something like telepathy and eventually get more abilities that tailor to the mind like empathy or astro projection, although you do upgrade your powers as the rp goes on. do ta get what i mean?

@Akio Chikara  I think the original power list was good enough as it gave us more options to be more creative with our own characters and helped flesh them out. Although I say this with the experience of actually picking our powers and building off them. Your new power list, although is quite the work, is sort of redundant in some ways. Animal morphing is cool, but then there's mimicking animals? Giraffe mimicry? Shark mimicry? A lot of these need more "meat and potatoes" to it, or just merged back into its general topic. The original power list was general, yet specific enough to give us enough room for our characters and is practically an all-around good power list to use in most roleplays. This list is lengthy, sure, but it actually says less about its powers than the original.

Not being able to pick my own powers is one thing, but using the current power list is the main thing that personally detaches me from joining the roleplay again. So, I'm basically saying that the original power list should come back, and I would join the Rise of the Alphas again for sure if it does.

edit: Plus, how would upgrading "Sand Mimicry" work?

@ShinJix

"We need help, Joey. Fuck!" A random teammate of his yelled as they were all being overpowered by some strong entity that's strong because strong.

"NOWS MY CHANCE!" Joey thought as he slowly reached his hand forward and walked sideways. If only he could break into a legion of granules, his impersonation would be spot on. Damn, I'm useful.

Regardless of Byatis's humorous example, I think that the list is almost too simplified to the point where it's hilariously limiting and honestly boring to the players having powers. Perhaps is there a way to pull the power list into something more expansive than putting similar powers into categories of typical stature?

While I think having specifying classes of powers can be a good way to organize the gigantic list from the past, the way it's organized now is most people have said, obtuse and limiting.
