Realistic or Modern ~NYU~

"Hey." Olivia smiles and sits on her bed. "Uhm, there is a party going on tonight, just in case you wanted to go. I'm not really a party type so just passing the news to you." She says this information without knowing that Dakota had already been invited. "It's on the rooftop also, so that will be fun." She grabs a book and opens it to page 30, the last place she left off on, and began reading, but still listening in case Dakota had a reply.

Dakota sits up and hugs her knees, "I heard about the party too... I think Andrew was his name." Her eyes wandered around their room. Dakota looks back over at Olivia, "Are you going? I think I'm gonna go... I've never really experienced a party..." Dakota shrugs, "Not that thats really bad though. I just want to experience it..." @BasicallyMe

"Actually, I don't know. I mean, I have nothing to wear and also I'm not really.. I've been to a few. It's just scary for me, I don't like being around a lot of people." She sighs and turns to page 31. "You should really go though. You need to experience it, your situation is probably different than mine. You seem outgoing, so it shouldn't be hard to have fun." Olivia looks over to her with a reassuring smile. "Just have to be careful that you don't do anything stupid."

@XxKaraxX

"Bonjur." She smiled partially to show her delight at being roomed with such a sweetie. It wasn't her ideal roommate seeing as herself was more of a party animal than anything but the girl did remind her somewhat of Olivia, just much less awkward. Cris laughed inwardly at the thought and looked around the room. She would need to get her side decorated asap seeing how bland it currently was. Her attention went back to Zoe as her outstretched hand caught her eye. "I'm Crystal, but most just stick with Cris. Thanks." Turning after introducing herself, she goes to her bed and unzips her bag. She was definitely liking her roommate so far; complimenting her tats was definitely one way of improving the wild child's thoughts of someone.

The contents inside were mostly clothes and a separate pair of converse. Tossing them beneath her bed where she often kept her footwear out of the way, that was about the time when Zoe's question came out. "Hmm, lunch sounds nice. Sure, I'll go." She nodded her head and glanced toward the door. Zoe was already going to get it so she decided not to waste her time and quickly sat on the bed digging through the other contents within her duffle. "Found it!" Her outburst came just after she had apparently been being introduced to some guy who was standing there in the doorway. Her eyes scanned him a moment before registering who he must be. "Zoe's brother, yes? Nice to meet you." Her people skills needed serious help but at least she was being nice to both of them. Olivia would most certainly be proud when she found out. Pulling the small framed photo that she had been searching for from her bag and setting it on the stand beside her bed, the blonde stood and gave a kind of bow. "To lunch?" Straightening her Nirvana tank and leather vest, she headed for the door.

@JaneXJeff

Zoe smiled at her brother. "This is Crystal," she said before turning back to the blonde. Apparently she had found something. It wasn't until she saw the framed photo that she realized it was what she was looking for. "To lunch," she said happily as she pulled her Nick after her. After walking for a good bit, they finally entered the cafeteria, much to Zoe's happiness. "Food..." She whispered before grabbing herself a salad and sitting at an empty table.

Nick laughed a bit at Crystal finding a framed photo, though he didn't say anything about it. Hearing that she would go with them to lunch, he followed his sister and her new friend...if that's what they were. When they walked into the lunchroom, he looked around at the people, noting one guys eating along. Instead of socializing, he stuck to his little sister's side as if they were joined at the hip. After getting a burger and some fries, he sat down next to her, taking a bite of a fry as he looked at Cris. "So, anything you wanna tell us about yourself?" He asked politely as he tilted his head a bit and kept eating.

Andrew notices a group of kids just walk in as he was leaving, their presence making him come to a halt. More kids to spread the word. He fixes his shirt seeing as there were two girls and walks over confidently. "Heyy ladies and gentleman. There will be a welcoming party on the rooftop tonight, just thought I should let you know. It starts at 9 p.m. Oh, and also, it's mandatory." He winks to the ladies and nods into Nick's direction. "We'll have booze and boobs." Andrew grins and turns to walk away after he knows for sure that they were educated.

Crystal's stomach grumbled unhappily as they entered the cafeteria. She hadn't eaten before she drove to this place so there was no wonder that she was so hungry. It didn't even faze her, however. Ignoring the growling, she followed the siblings thinking about how the rest of the semester would work out. Zoe and her brother seemed like pretty cool people she just hoped that her new roommate wouldn't become too annoyed by Cris', sometimes, overbearing personality. These concerns would never be voiced to the girl but it was a sign of Crystal's more laid-back self. To everyone she's ever met, other than Olivia, she is known as the chick who couldn't give two shits about someone's opinions of her. A sigh escaped her lips as she realized that she was next in line to get her food. It was a quick decision and soon enough she had paid and gone to sit at the same table with Zoe and Nick.

Sitting across from the two siblings, Cris started eating away at the chicken tenders which she had decided on. Taking a bite and chewing up the chicken, she looked at Nick when questioned. She swallowed down the chewed bite and shook her head with a blank expression. "No, not really." After a second she smirked and chuckled lightly. "Kidding..I'm just a twenty-two year old with a passion for tats and justice." Taking another bite and after swallowing again, she went on. "My middle name is Heather. My eyes change colors depending on my mood and I absolutely despise cabbage. Gross stuff, I believe...anyway, what about you both? You two are sure to be much more interesting." She shoved the rest of the tender into her mouth.

@JaneXJeff

Just as Cris had finished telling about herself they were disrupted by some kid. Crystal's icy blues moved to look at the boy and a half grin showed on her lips. "I do enjoy a good party. Just know, if this is a waste of my time I'll make sure to let the rest of the campus know." She raised a brow at the guy's ending comment and laughed a bit. "See you tonight then." She watched him walk away then looked back at Zoe and Nick. "Will you guys go?"

@JaneXJeff @BasicallyMe

Zoe took a bite of her chicken Caesar salad as she listened to little tidbits of information Cris gave her and her brother, nodding ever so slightly. "Well Heather is a pretty name and cabbage is disgusting," she said with a small laugh just before she was questioned. "Well I'm nineteen and my middle name is Jacqueline. I have a passion for music and our dad is actually a lawyer," she said proudly as she took another bite of salad, chewing it and swallowing it as she looked over at her brother. Just as she finished, a guy walked up to them, inviting them to a party, though the way he invited them didn't seem very appealing to her. "Fucking pervert," she mumbled angrily as she clenched her jaw.

Nick looked up at the guy inviting them to a party, obviously focusing his main attention on Cris and his sister. Before he could open his mouth to tell him to leave Zoe alone, she retorted with not so nice words, causing him to laugh. Looking back to Cris, he glanced over at his sister pouting and nodded. "We'll be there. And you'll have to forgive her. She's not too keen on guys that try to pressure her to do something. Bad experiences. Anyway! My middle name is Pierre and I'm 21. I love rock music and I'm here for photography," he said with a smile as he wrapped an arm around his sister. "Cheer up, Zo. If you don't want to deal with him, then just avoid him," he said with a smile as she nodded, still obviously unnerved by the guy's comment.

"All I know is I don't swing that way and there's no way in hell he's seeing mine."

Crystal was quick to pick up on how the guy's behavior had upset Zoe and slowly Cris gave a gentle smile, something she hardly ever does. Her eyes went to Zo's brother and she nodded her head before looking back at Zoe. "He doesn't mean any harm, just a mischievous college boy. There'll be ton of them so just ignore them..if any of these guys around here gives you trouble let me know." Tilting her head slightly to the side a loud pop was heard and then came the sound of her knuckles cracking. It was one thing to joke around but forcing someone to do something was strictly wrong. Her attention went back to everything she had heard Zoe tell about herself and a smirk rose. "Jacqueline is so much better than Heather and I'm happy that you agree about the cabbage." Her up-beat personality returned trying to get Zo's mind off the idiot.

Cris looked to Nick then when it was his turn and she grinned. "You, my good sir, have an awesome taste in music and photography sounds cool. I wouldn't be able to stay still long enough to actually snap a good shot though..oh! I do have a question for you both, though; why is it that you've come to America? Your father being a lawyer and all makes me think that you guys would have stayed back in France.." She trailed off thinking about how wondrous traveling another country must be.

@JaneXJeff

Rhett was finally finished with putting away his clothes and other things when he realized how odd it was that his roommate had yet to return. They hadn't even gotten the chance to meet yet but the other guy's stuff was still sitting on the other side of the room giving evidence of someone obviously rooming in there as well.

Shaking his head to clear it, he sits on the edge of his bed and thinks things over. Firstly, he needed to find a safe place to keep his cigarettes. Secondly, he needed to find out what sort of person this guy was and lastly, he absolutely needed a smoke. Going to the window, he opened it up a bit and soon lit one of the toxic sticks and put it between his lips. Breathing in the smoke then exhaling the fumes, he smiled quietly. "Ah, this is the life.."

The journey had been dire. An endless nightmare that had made Clark wonder if it would ever end, luckily it did. Several traffic jams later and he was here, NYU. Following the mass of other students inside the building he waited in line to get his key to the dorm. He wondered who he'd be sharing with. Clark was allocated to room 318 and quickly headed up there. Arriving at the dorm he moved inside to find someone else's stuff already set up, he tried to get an idea of whoever it was he'd be sharing with from the assorted items they'd put out. Unpacking the majority of his things, Clark decided to head for something to eat as his stomach rumbled, stuffing his key and phone into his pocket he wondered down. Walking into the canteen alone he glanced about for a familiar face.

[ OOC: Don't know if any Juniors/Sophomores want to be Clark's friend from last year? He's buggable :) ]

Once he'd collected his key and dumped his belongings in his room, Alex considered unpacking and began rummaging through his bags. Pulling out book after book, he stacked them on his shelf above his bed. It took him some time but finally, he was unpacked. Glancing over his roommates space, he hoped they'd be interesting.. or maybe that he knew them. Grabbing a book to take with him Alex headed down to the canteen, getting in the long queue for food, he started reading his book.

Thankful that he'd left much earlier than he planned, Tate had already unpacked and taken his seat in the canteen to eat. He scanned the numerous students wandering to and fro, chatting and eating.

Dakota begins to play with her hair as Olivia are talking, "I guess I'll give it a try, I mean it seems fun and I really want to meet some more people." Dakota tilts her head, thinking for a moment, "What would be considered stupid at a college party?" Dakota laughs a bit, "You know, as I've said never been." @BasicallyMe

Zoe smiled softly at Nick before looking over at Cris who asked why they came to America. "Well our dad was on some kind of case-winning streak and the Americans in New York heard about it and wanted to hire him. I guess you could say we moved because of his job," she explained as she took another bite of her salad and began chewing it. When she finished eating, she stood up with a smile. "I'm gonna head back up to the room and get a shower. It can take me so long to get dressed," she said with a laugh, and with that, she left.

Nick watched his sister as she spoke before getting up and throwing her trash away before heading out. Looking over at Cris, he offered a small shrug as he pulled his beanie off. "She's not kidding about that," he said with a grin as he sat back. "So who's your favorite music artist?" He asked her with genuine interest.

@ShadedRose

Zoe was heading up to her room without a word, but as she passed one door, she couldn't help but overhear two voices talking. And they were female. Rather than going on her way, she saw a way to make new friends. Knocking on the door gently, she patiently waited for an answer.

Dakota looked over at the door once she heard the knock, "I suppose I'll get it since I'm closer." Dakota smiles and walks to the door. She takes a deep breathe and opens the door up, "Oh, hello, please come on in. I'm Dakota." She says kindly with a smile on her face as she widens the door to let her inside, "If it's okay with you Olivia we have a guest!" @BasicallyMe @JaneXJeff

Hearing the door open, Zoe focused her attention on the girl and smiled widely, showing her pearly whites. She had never seen the girl before, so she must have been a freshman. "Bonjour, Mademoiselle. I'm Zoe," she said happily as she walked in. "I couldn't help but hear as I was going up to my room. Are you two going to the party?" She asked curiously as she tilted her head, slipping her hands into her front pockets after running her fingers through her hair.

"Oh, you heard about the party," Dokota shrugged, "I'm pretty sure I'm going. It's my first college party and I really want to get the experience." Dakota smiled, "What about you," Dakota moved her hair to her side, "Are you going to the party?"

(If this looks short, sorry, I'm using rpnation on my phone)

"Oui," Zoe said nodding happily as she leaned against the wall. "My brother and I are both going," she stated before looking over at Dakota. "That is a very pretty name," she added genuinely. "And trust me, college parties are what you want them to be, depending on who you hang out with. If you're looking to get laid, then go hang out with a bunch of drunken guys. If you're just looking to have fun, stay close to your girls and don't trust any guy that says he doesn't want to get laid. That's the whole reason they're throwing it anyway. How did he put it? 'Booze and boobs'," she quoted with a shrug. "I don't even know his name. Seemed really flirty. I'm mean he was cute, but he acted way too much like a player," she said with a shrug. "But despite me not liking the way he invited us, I am going."

XxKaraxX

Olivia nods in approval of their new guest and listens as they talk. "I agree with Zoe, thats what I meant by doing something stupid. Hanging with drunken guys. There are lots of drug incidents wether you want to believe it or not." She shuts her book and lays it neaty next to others on her bed head shelf. "I've had experience. My friend Crystal always get me into trouble." She grins to herself thinking about her and wondering if she had settled in yet.

@XxKaraxX @JaneXJeff

Andrew finally makes his way back to the dorm. "Hey buddy that'll kill you." He jokes and closes the door shut incase a supervisor was nearby. "I'm having a party tonight on the rooftop. You should come. I'm andrew by the way."

@ShadedRose

"Crystal? That's your friend?" Zoe asked curiously as she tilted her head and smiled a bit. "She's my roommate," she said happily as she looked to the girl. "I'm sorry, I don't think I got your name," she added curiously.

"Oh that's cool, how you and your brother are going to the same school." Dakota shrugs, "All of my brothers are in college, out of college or married with children." Dakota smiled and laughed a bit, "I don't think I'm going to get laid even if I tried. I think I'm just going to try to find a good crowd." Dakota said as she started playing with her hair again, "Hopefully I'll see you there." Dakota looks over at Olivia, "I've hear stories about the college parties and drugs. I'll just try to be safe as possible." Dakota looked confused at both of them, "Who's Crystal?"

@BasicallyMe @JaneXJeff

Kyle had walked into the canteen and looked around for someone to sit with. He didn't bother to grab any food, as if he'd eat it anyways. He'd find a seat, mostly alone and pull out his phone. He'd browse the internet using his data while waiting for the time to pass. He just wanted to go to class already and go back to his dorm. He put his phone down for just a second before scanning the crowd of hungry individuals and smiling lightly. There were so many people on this campus, much more than in his old High School. He'd of course return to his phone and scroll through countless apps until it was time for class.

Airo is walking students to his class his books in his arms and a few pens and pad in his pocket thinking my first day i'm thinking it would be fun to make an advanced wind boat project to test their know how about circuits

Crystal listened to the explanation and dipped her head in understanding. It made perfect sense. "Sounds like fun." Still thinking about the idea of traveling, she did not say anything else until hearing Zoe's declaration of going up to their dorm to shower. She looked up as she stood and showed a half-smile as she normally does. "Well, I'll see you later then." Standing, Cris watches Nick go dump Zo's trash then the girl leaving. She had a feeling that this year would work out all right.

Happy with their first meeting, Cris planned on just wandering around and possibly looking for some more people to socialize with. Nick, however, catches her eye as he was waiting. Going over and standing next to him she tilts her head. His question stumped her momentarily but within the same second she answered. "Five Finger Death Punch, all the way." It wasn't extremely popular among most crowds but Cris wasn't interested in the 'popular' shit anyway. "There are so many more though...Nirvana is another of my favorites." She said while pointing to the top. "What about you?"

@JaneXJeff

Rhett choked a bit on the smoke lingering in his throat and immediately looked over his shoulder. It was a relief that it was only some guy and the comment made the corners of his lips pull upward in a small grin. "A party?" His brow raised knowing that it was only the first day of school and yet this guy, Andrew, was throwing the first party. "Rhett and it sounds cool." He said this as the cigarette burned out. Dumping it into a small ashtray on the sill, he moves back to his bed and sits. He wasn't much into parties due to the vast amount of people and socializing involved. Don't get him wrong, he loves to meet people but the smell of alcohol on practically everyone's breath was not appealing to him. "I think I'll pass but thanks anyway."

@BasicallyMe

Kyle stuffed his phone in his pocket and took a look around the canteen one last time before getting up and walking out of the place. He'd decide to spend a few minutes in his dorm before class started, if he'd walk fast he'd be able to get a few online games in. He walked into his dorm and swiftly closed the door behind him, he half expected to see his new room mate there; but he didn't pay much attention to his surrondings.
