Thankfully, the travel to lady Felinus' home would go without issues. (I'll take the liberty to say Marius takes the cat there to avoid needlessly delaying things.)

As a result, Edwin's group was able to bring the cat back to lady Felinus' house sooner rather than later. It was around the same time the smoke as dark as Edwin's heart arrived, along with the cat that the other group was luring along. Perhaps the only thing that was currently stopping them from just handing over the cat was the fact that a dirt-bike with a wildly smoking mine-cart attached to it and smoke-like cat fluttering around amidst that smoke was right in front of the door.

As they were closing in to the building, having already drawn lots of confused (and some concerned) eyes from the villagers, Amice would be asked something most difficult. “Smoke... if you'd put it in a Pocket, it'd come out of the Pocket in the house as well... so if it'd have to come out... near a window..? No, smoke goes up... UP! THE CHIME KNEE! Right? If we put this out and throw something smoking down the chime knee, wouldn't the smoke cat follow it down into the house?” She asked, feeling rather proud of that solution. Especially as she had learned what a chime knee was only a while ago.

They'd arrive around the same time as Edwin's group arrived with Luna. “Ehm... Hello again mister!” She gathered up all her bravery to wave Edwin 'hello' despite still thinking he was rather scary. He did tell her to be more brave and telling him 'hello' would surely help with that. “Oh, it seemed you and the other mister also got another cat!” She'd reply, as it seemed they were getting more and more of them. She'd also notice the pink-ish man was chasing a cat in the distance.

Fisher

“You're welcome, have a lovely date miss!” The fisher would call out after Aureliana as she headed off.

Aureliana would notice the smoke was, in fact, some weird magic looking dirt-bike driven by a small gnome, a short Elf and some doll-like person. They were heading for the same house as a black-armour clad knight on a large dark war-horse, followed by what seemed to be some type of squire, perhaps. It was, by all means, a very odd scene. Though two things would stand out. The smoke had a feline shape to it and the squire looking person in the group with the Dark Knight seemed to be bringing in a cat as well. Perhaps they were their colleagues or their competition?

As for Aureliana's own quest, she'd be able to catch up with Aniel soon enough, as he was playing his own games with one of the cats. One the optic of Aniel and his games with the cats...

Txl0DWX.jpeg

Meow? The cat meowed when Aniel was talking about 'fair'n'fun' as if to say 'really?' to him. Seeing how he landed near the cat, the cat would walk away a bit from him already. Just in case. Games were no fun if you gave you opponent too much of an advantage. Meow. The cat meowed after he explained the rules. Although it was unclear if the animal just wanted to continue playing or if it'd actually understood what Aniel had been saying all this time.

The moment Aniel started running, however, so did the cat (Fast F) take sprint into the opposite direction, then taking a hard left... in the opposite direction of lady Felinus' house. Although it did run closer to Aureliana and the marketplace she'd come from. The groups near lady Felinus' house might notice, in so far as they weren't too busy with their own endeavours.

The low gallop of the black destrier changed from the crunching of the grass, to the clopping against the cobbled stone, as the [Dark Knight] directed the animal towards the house of the client. “Come on, now, don’t tell me your stamina is faltering you…” The sarcastic ‘question’ was made with his helmet barely turning back to face Marius. “... that won’t do when you have Orcs chasing you with their massive swords, bandits looking for whatever coin you might have on you or necromancers eager to use your carcass in their macabre rituals! HAHAHAHAHAHA!” Every single word was delivered in a strangely joyous tone, despite the morbidity of them, Edwin’s cackle was like a rumbling thunder.

Maybe it was because of their success thus far, improving his mood, that when his eyes hidden behind the horned helmet saw that tiny little creature once more, there wasn’t any outward hostility in his stance. “Ahhhh, Amice Bellamy…” He called her out using her name, the amusement in his voice being hard to miss. “... I see that you and your little group also had success in chasing down our ‘dearest’ client’s pets. Outstanding.” Giving her a rare compliment, he leaned forward on his horse. “Tell me, any act of bravery you conducted during your hunt? Any moment in which you disregarded the fear gripping around your heart, threatening to suffocate it?” Leaning back, the blackened eyeslits kept their intensity. “Despite greeting me, of course.” A soft chuckle left the opening of his helmet.

Turning around, he pointed one clawed, gauntleted finger towards Marius. “That cat is our third one, as a matter of fact. We had one more in our group, but…” He waved his hand dismissively. “... they lost their nerve… while searching for CATS.” He would spend only a lingering glance towards Ul, Viole and finally the smokey-cat. “Seems like your group still have a few quirks to work it out before it can be delivered, mmm?” At least, that was what appeared.

The corrupted knight would begin to scan the surroundings, seeing something pink searching a cat. “Hah! Look how ridiculous that one looks like! Regardless, considering this job is only really over when every single one of these are delivered, I suppose I can be generous and lend a hand.”

“Keep up facing your fears, tiny one.”
Momentarily returning his attention to, he pulled the reigns of his warhorse, directing the animal towards the commotion at the distance, prodding the animal forward with a firm prod of his sabatons.

Shadow - Likes to hide in dark places.
Bella - Likes the attention.
Luna - Likes to watch thing roll around.

Tiger - Likes heights and climbing into or onto things.

Simba - Likes fish and bugs.

  • There was a clatter as Aniel threw his foot at the ground in a stomping fit. He didn't have time to mull over his morosis, rather he turned on the heel of his fancy shoes and ran after the cat. "Of course il gatto va velocissimo—what did I expect?!" The swainling ran as quick as he could on two feet, which was quite slow in comparison to a cat and mostly attributed to the fact that swainlings were meant to sit under the shade of a tree and look comely.

"Dar~ling, you went the wrong way!" Aniel cupped his mouth and shouted at the cat while running, his quick breaths an indication that he didn't do much sports in his previous life. Again, Aniel wanted to cry, rather, his heart was crying as it wasn't used to such a sudden sprint. It went badump-badump-badump incessantly in its cage of bones. "Oh... fuck..." He heaved in frustration as he ran through the same left the cat had taken, feet sliding across the floor as he turned and stumbled and ran after the thing.

Aniel had half a mind to open his wings and seize the sky once more, if not for that his flight was comparable to a leisurely stroll through an orchard of peach trees and if not for that flight was against the rules and would prompt the cat to begin teleporting again... most likely. Oh, how Aniel could go for a peach or an orange or maybe some lemons—a las, here he was, the loser in a game of catch with a cat. Love transcends o'er time and space, distances, universes and yet here we have a messenger of love's will failing to outrun a cat.

Love, as a deity, was a powerless fraud, a sham, a terrible joke played on almost all persons; thought Aniel as he began to run out of breath as he continued to hopelessly chase the cat, like how in love, one incessantly chases after things beyond reach. Unyielding in the face of its lofty goals, no matter how fruitless it proves to yield.

AURELIANA
[Norroburry Village] High Altitude Kittens Part 3 – An Ameowzing Job

“What…” Aureliana muttered, her expression laced with bewilderment as she watched the smoke barrel forth and away. She hadn’t realized the circus came to such a small village. It took her a couple of seconds to turn her attention away from the unusual scene, directing her focus back to the task at hand. She squinted as she caught sight of the troublesome cat being chased by the angelic man towards her direction. Looking left and right, she scrambled to think of an idea to catch the elusive feline.

Grasping at straws, Aureliana knelt down to place the two stingrays on the ground, centering them in the projected path of the cat. Rising back to full height, she quickly shuffled over to the side, not too far away but just out of the way. Removing her cloak, she did her best to conceal her presence in preparation to throw her cloak over the cat should it show interest in the fish.

Ul fell rather disappointed when they would come into contact once again with the wannabe Edgelord himself, sighing under her breath as she could barely hold any interest about his endeavours to help. That, and something felt oddly suspicious about the way he was acting, but she felt not in the mood to entertain such an idiot.
"Anyway, lets just get this cat back in the house... the chimney does sound like a good idea, I'll go light the fireplace and then we can put out the minecart. Should be simple enough. Then we can head on our way, or go check to see how getting the last cats are going, or something. This detour has gotten... a lot more nonsensical than I would've imagined it to be. Gods knows how you were supposed to do this on your own Amice, I must admit. The job must've been vacant solely on the amount of hassle it is... " Ul mentioned, feeling like there was no way some random lady should be wrangling the support of multiple people to chase down cats she couldn't contain.

Honestly, it felt like keeping an eye on that Pink Doll was a whole lot easier. She'd consider the doll's actual successful singer-friend, but not only did they run off for a while during their initial first time around eachother, but from background news she had heard travelling around... that'd probably be in very poor taste. That, and she was still secretly wearing the Fanclub pin under her scarf, she nad no interest but honoring the gone is only the right thing to do.

Distracted a little by her tangent, Amice did feel like quite similar to Zahrah... although one of them acted like a child, the other... well, it was debatable if they were even constructed with a brain at all. That'd probably explain their erratic nature. Wonder if dolls and constructs like them could have a custom brain fitted in to change their way of thinking, or talents? Maybe Viole worked like that... but anyway, she headed to the house and gave a polite knock.

She'd do her same-same classic [Animal Handling] to be careful of any abrupt escapee cats, closing the door to head to the fireplace in order to light it. Then, perhaps by Viole's help or that she'd do it herself, to extinguish the minecart fire.

Actions
1. Animal Handling (B) + Energized (B) for opening the door without letting out cats
2. 2. Marius picked Luna up, gently, as if he was cradling a child, making sure to keep the satchet near the feline's nose.

Very strangely, he felt refreshed, even after being pelted with small stones and buried. He wasn't quite sure whether the soreness in his limbs was real, or just pains induced by his thoughts.
Thoughts. He turned to Edwin and silently nodded along to his remark as he got up onto his feet with Luna in his hands. Yes, indeed, he was alive. But would he be able to live for long? He surely could've lost his life there, in the mountain of pebbles, had he not been blessed by Sprinkles' kindness. Marius slowly got out of the small pit and followed Edwin back to Lady Felinus' abode. Hopefully, the tea there will ease some of his worries.
His clothes, torn a little by the rocks, were covered in dirt. Marius felt that he could definitely use some new equipment, fit for travelling, fit for work. Who knows what this world holds for him? The realization that he was still breathing and still mortal would set in only now. Perhaps on a more conscious level he perfectly understood the fragility of his own life, but he truly realized it only now.
"Well," - he thought to himself with a sarcastic snicker, - "I died once already, what's wrong with dying twice?" He followed Edwin in silence, keeping the pace up. There was, indeed, something wrong with dying again, he thought. Even back then there were things that he left undone, things that he would've loved to do. And he was given a chance to find something new here, now. Can he really let go of that so easily?

Edwin's humorous jab brought him back to the current. "No, I feel just fine." Marius shook his thoughts away and replied. He decided to put a bit of bounce in his step as he continued: "I'm feeling great. Boulders or necromancers, I'll be fine either way with how I'm feeling right now." It wasn't particularly a lie - Sprinkles really did do its magic, and it did it well. His joints, bones, muscles, his entire body felt surprisingly refreshed, perhaps even stronger than before. Besides, it's important to keep a good mindset, is it not?

Something else that was important was the quest at hand - handing the cats back over to Lady Felinus. The quest took much more energy out of Marius than he himself expected, but at the very least the quest was nearing completion. He let himself start thinking about what he should do afterwards. Norroburry was certainly a nice place, - outside of the possible destruction caused by the noble's cats, - and he could possibly find himself a job here, but maybe other places held better opportunities for him. If the reward allows him to do so, Marius thought, he'd certainly love to buy something nice for himself. Having gotten to know some people was certainly great, as well. Perhaps he could ask Lady Felinus for advice?

He had to leave that idea for later as he saw the intimidatingly dark plume of smoke near Lady Felinus' home, which he failed to notice sooner. Thankfully, it didn't seem like a fire, or anything of that tragic sort. Having to save cats from a burning household would be a task too much for him.
Nevertheless, they arrived, together with the strange bike-cart contraption. Marius raised his eyebrow at the smoke, crunching his nose up a little at the smell. But he quickly turned his attention away from the burning in the cart and to the people near it. He nodded with a small smile. "Hello." Succinct, but friendly. His eyes shifted towards the... child? He wondered if it was safe keeping children around such feisty felines, or, for that matter, Edwin, as he saw him strike up a conversation. Marius gave her a friendly smile nonetheless.
He did feel a little bit relaxed, knowing that Edwin was leaving him alone. "Thank you for your help," he said to the large knight, and left it at that. It was nice having a person like that as an ally, yes, but certainly still disturbing, knowing that he had such strange, morbid tendencies. Nevertheless, he helped them with the cats, and that was reason enough to thank him.

Marius turned to the party with the smoking cart. One of them entered the house, leaving Marius together with Luna in his hands and with the other two people. A child and... a woman? "Are you here to help out with Lady Felinus' cats as well?" It wouldn't be out of the question. With how her cats have proven to be so extraordinary, plumes of smoke would surely follow them wherever they go.

Had Amice been brave? She thought for a bit, then nodded. “I got really close to the mines! Despite them reminding me... of... of when evil goblins... kidnapped me... and then cut off my toe and pinky...” She was even being brave in telling that story. Or so she believed. Oddly enough, Edwin's words to keep facing her fears were oddly inspiring. “I will!” She called out.

With Ul lighting the fireplace, assuming she'd add a few things to make it smokier than normal, then putting out the mine-cart, smokey soon floated up and over the roof, before diving into the chimney.

iLuzsou.jpeg

With that, only one cat remained. Tiger. Although when Ul told Amice that she might've not been able to do it alone, Amice would nod. “I think I'd have to go live here to try every day until I could do it all alone.” That might've been the only option.

As Ul was inside to bring in Smokey, she would get a compliment. “Oh my, it seems Smokey had been acting up more than I thought. Thank you on bringing him back. I'll make sure he won't leave again until he stops playing around so much.” She'd reassure. Otherwise the cat would just gloat back out of the chimney or underneath a door whenever.

Upon Marius greeting her, she'd stand to attention. “Hello! I am Amice Bellamy. I am a gnome. I am sixteen years old!” She'd introduce herself. “Oh, you also brought a cat! That means there should only be...” She tried her best to recall the numbers. “Three... two... only one left?” She asked. A bit unsure about how many other cats had been brought in overall. “Yes, we're bringing all the cats home!” She'd answer him next.

Meanwhile, Luna, in his hands, was starting to look pretty out of it with the sachet pressed against her nose. Perhaps the cat was getting a bit too much sniffed, as she was starting to drool a little as well whilst softly purring. It was a far cry form the earth-bending lethal weapon it'd been just moments ago.

Meanwhile, Tiger was making an absolute game out of playing with Aniel. Running ahead for a bit, until he'd almost catch up, before sprinting off again. Meow! The cat meowed in glee.

That's when the cat spotted Aureliana putting down some fish. At first, it wasn't appealing. After all, the cat might not even have the time or teeth to tear through the thick uncut skin of those fish. Yet... the Dark Knight approach the cat as well, sitting high on his high horse.

Eyeing its three pursuers, the cat came up with his ultimate plan. First, sprinting directly at Edwin and going underneath his War-Horse (Fast D), the cat made it over to Aureliana. There, he'd quickly bite into one of the fishes, before teleporting (Teleport C) back into the same roof they'd first found the cat on. Aureliana's cloak would end up landing on nothing other than soil, the cat having teleported out already and having found its place atop the roof of the large dormitory building near the centre of the town.

From there, it'd triumphantly mew across town. MEOW! Afterwards, it'd try see if it's teeth or claws were able to tear apart the fishes' skin well enough to start eating it atop the heights it'd stood on. Of course, it stood very close to the edge. What life was worth living if not living it on the edge, after all?

Perhaps they might try to seek some advice from the lady herself, or simply keep trying in the hope the cat would run out of energy sooner rather than later. Or perhaps they could try the same method used on one of the other more troublesome cats.

As Tiger began scurrying underneath Edwin's warhorse, the corrupted knight pulled and yanked the animal reigns.

EVIL Horse
Edwin's horse.jpg
The destrier began neighing loudly, bearing its teeth, as all the four legs began stomping against the ground, the metallic horseshoes under its hooves hitting against dirt and cobbled stone. It would likely be clear what Edwin just attempted to do: trample the feline to death under the massive weight of the animal.

"Furred vermin!" The corrupted knight bellowed, as the feline had successfully managed to avoid death and its capture.

The baronet's horned helmet turned towards the dormitory in which the cat now stayed upon, eyes narrowing dangerously as the abyss-like eye slits gazed upon the tiny being with malicious intent. All the while, the gauntlet which held the three-pronged lance closed firmly around its shaft, plate groaning with the strength being exerted upon the material.

"I should blast that pest to smithereens!" His rumbling, furious tone left no doubt of the killing intent further escalating.

Turning his headgear to both the pink one and the woman, he asked without delay. "What other skills have you two witnessed that mangy cat posses?" No greetings, no pleasantries and straight to the point. "We MIGHT be able to recover that beast alive, if we make use of the sachet which Lady Felinus have. It was enough to pacify the cat which tried to bury me alive with boulders." From his voice, he probably had cooled down one or two pegs.

  • When the cat had seemingly stopped just before racing toward the mounted metal-clad person, Aniel had skipped and lunged himself at the cat, "Gotcha!" He'd yell, only to hurl himself into the ground as the cat swiftly made haste toward the new figure. "AuUGHgh!" Aniel groaned and grit his teeth, both as a result of hurling himself into the ground as well as scraping his knees. "No fair you feline fiend!" Aniel shouted aimlessly, before pulling himself up. He dusted his capelet and decided he would leave disinfecting his petty wounds later; that is if the medieval era had the means to do so.

He blankly stared, folding his arms and kicking the air before musing, "I ought to get a pocket mirror." Aniel was too busy lamenting his own misfortunes to have witnessed Edwin's attempt of the cat's life. He flinched when the knight adressed him, "Is your name perchance Orlando?" Aniel winced as he'd look up at the imposing figure of the far from gallant knight, "I mean, what did that adorable little cutie-pie do to you to deserve such an ugly pseudonym?" Aniel inquired on a whim, his foot tapping the floor. "Not that I care~♡" Aniel stepped back, distancing himself from Mister Sir Without The Courtesy To Introduce Himself. His armour was scary, his tone of voice was cold and his horse, in all its scurastro majesty, seemed like it would trample anything in its path.

Aniel liked the colour black; in fact, he loved it. Yet, as of late, it scared him a bit. He forced a smile. "Seems you have volumes to regale Sir Orlando, a las, we have the time to revise but a few pages," Aniel decided on referring to the guy as Orlando. "Anywhatsoever, our little kitty-cat is quite fast (as expected of cats...) and can teleport! Oh, and his SO adorable that I could just DIE." The swainling explained, clapping to further emphasize the cat's cuteness. Aniel processed the man's words for a moment, before his expression warped into a disgusted scowl.

"And what do you mean might?! We are not going to murder Cathy's belovèd cat—Cathy inherently has C. A. T. in her name, if we commit such an atrocity she'd die of an ailing heart! Well, I mean, I would die of an ailing heart, dunno about Cathy—I met her for like 10 minutes and parted ways, but like her cats are SO adorbalicious and like, people with lots and lots of lotta cats must indeedearly adore their little cutie kitty cats—if I knew I hired folks to find my cats and indirectly caused my cats their death because of said freaks I would bawl for days and weeks and months and years until I drown in an ocean of my own tears..." Aniel rambled aimlessly, stopping and then staring blankly into empty space for a second. "Point: if you can pacify the cutie then ya' needn't put it down, you stupid rock." The swainling snarled with an empty smile on his face.

"So! I will get the cat down from the roof again while you and Mister Sir Orlando make a lure, yea?" Aniel clapped his hand together as he arrogantly decided on what the two would do, his wings opening behind him and flouncing out his capelet as he slowly ascended into the sky, waving at Edwin and Aureliana. "Grazie~♡ ciao cari!" He floated away from the too, leaving Aureliana to deal with the knight's angst.

Meanwhile, once Aniel made it to the cat once more, he forbore from pointing and shouting and calling out the cat for being a cheating bastard. In love, one must be as honest as they must be deceitful. At first, the one your pursue must only bear witness to your most beautiful self. "Kittykitty~!♡" The putto called out, "Can I help you with that? It seems you're struggling, yea? I can cut it up in pieces so that you can eat it up nice and easy if you want♡" Aniel was attempting persuade the cat into letting him get closer. [Persuasion F] If Aniel could befriend the cat by helping him eat or something, then maybe it would listen and just teleport back to Cathy's house.

Viole nodded upon hearing Ul's plan totally ignoring the very existence of the edgy MC Edgeface. He readied himself over the minecart with his hand near it already gathering water-aspected mana on his hand to create water as soon as he would see even whiffs of smoke coming out of the chimney of the house.

"You were brave Amice. For bravery is not feeling no fear, it is acting despite feeling fear." Viole said as soon as the edgy MC Edgeface left. Seeing Amice so happy after counting down the cats down he decided to give her a few head pats. "Indeed we are here to help with the cat situation. Us three already helped catch two of them with the third being the reason for our smokey contraption. As I see you are also here for this matter." Viole said to Marius, his voice as always was soft and androgynous making Marius have an even harder time figuring out Viole's gender.
"Lady Ul. What is your decision coming forth?" He turned to Ul and asked her as she came out of the house.

AURELIANA
[Norroburry Village] High Altitude Kittens Part 3 – An Ameowzing Job
“Ah…” Aureliana let out a huff of disappointment as she watched her cloak flatten out on the ground, a clear indication that her attempt to catch the feline was unsuccessful. She made her march of defeat to retrieve her cloak and the fish that was underneath. “Hm?” Throwing her cloak over her shoulders, she realized there was only one fish left but she strictly remembered buying two. The elusive feline must have nabbed one before it made its escape! Picking up the last stingray, she made her way over to Aniel and the man who had tried to stomp out the cat with his horse moments ago. His blackened armor was a tad bit intimidating but she couldn't help but imagine the wonderful contrast the dark metal would have if it were engulfed in flames.

The thought lingered only a moment longer as the angelic man began to bark out orders for the two of them, insisting on a new plan of action. Watching him take to the skies for a second, she turned her attention back to the dark knight, holding up a stingray by the tail. “The feline had taken a liking to the second one I bought. Perhaps we can use this final one to create a lure? Although the first attempt at luring the creature that way was unsuccessful…” She muttered, slowly lowering the fish back down to her side. “Unfortunately, my skills are within the realm of setting any and everything ablaze — which will not do well in capturing the noble woman's cat alive.”

Succesfully returning Smokey, Ul gave a small nod to Lady Felinus.
"Tis' nothing much, you can give thanks to Amice for being so committed and hardworking" Ul nodded, whilst improving her reputation in the region of Ryke and beyond, there were very clearly others who needed some priority assistance with their future. Heading back outside to chrck up on the other two, the elf gave a brief glance to Marius, before directing her gaze in the direction of chaos. Considering they had a few people that weren't hard to pick out of a crowd, and such a show-off cat being the centre of attention atop the town, it wasn't tricky to miss. Hearing Viole ask about what they were doing next, she'd hesitate for a second.

"I was gonna get to that, but they all look like they're making complete fools of themselves... we should probably help them wrangle the last cat just in case they're here all day... and that idiot on horseback starts proving a new problem" Ul answered, wondering how one would manage to catch such an energetic and evasive cat. Then, the obvious hit her.

"Viole, back in the mine, you mentioned noticing catnip around here you wish you picked up? Lets go collect some of that, it'll help draw its' attention and we can just take it back home. No point chasing it around" Ul suggested, it couldn't have been that far or difficult to find.

With Viole and perhaps Amice's assistance, Ul would choose to search for the supposed catnip her servant had prior mentioned about in order to utilise it. Assuming she'd find it, she'd make sure to plentifully rub it onto her hands and clothes to give her a scent that would lure it, and to take extra for baiting it back home. She'd perhaps give it some pets and attention to win its' love.

If she got everything, she'd put two fingers in her mouths to whistle loudly to get the cat's attention. Literally 'Cat-calling'.

Actions
1. Go find and collect the catnip Viole mentioned earlier
2. Apply to self and keep some for baiting
3. Use Animal Handling [F] to call and bring cat back home, with pets and catnip

"S-Sixteen years old, huh?" Marius gave Amice another smile, almost apologetic for having assumed that she was a child. Were all gnomes like this? He had no idea either way; Marius had practically not traveled anywhere. He was once again reminded of the new, vast world that awaited him, and how small he was before it.

He looked over at the androgynous person, with a short 'I see' escaping him. It seems that this cat debacle has summoned more people than he had initially thought. Marius turned around to glance at how the other group's faring against the last of the felines. No wonder, he thought to himself as he saw the slapstick comedy play out, so many people jumped on this quest. This had proven to be much more difficult than he had assumed. But, hopefully, the rewards will be worth the trouble.

He returned the short glance to the person who returned from Lady Felinus' home. Her speech and the glint in her eyes certainly made her look quite arrogant, but, possibly, not much worse than Edwin. At the very least, it seemed to Marius that these three can do their jobs, a fact that was, on its own, soothing.

"Well, I wish you good luck," Marius said as he entered Lady Felinus' abode with Luna in his hands, not noticing the drool of the cat slowly getting all over his sleeve until he had to return it.
"Uh, I apologize for having brought Luna back in... such a dazed state," Marius said with a short bow, putting Luna gently on the floor, as he didn't know what else he should do, and wiping his sleeve and dusting his clothes off. "And I would like to thank Sprinkles for its support," - he said with a smile, glancing at his right hand, - "Luna was a little too rowdy."
He avoided mentioning the fact that he could've possibly died there, which was still disturbing him on an unconscious level. Marius wondered if he could sit catching the last cat out, as it seemed that practically the entire village was on its tail. He did feel a little sorry for his inability to do better, but he did try his best, didn't he?

She looked at Viole as a happy, proud, smile started to adorn her face upon being called brave. “Thank you! I am glad I was brave enough!” She'd beam at Viole in return. “I can't wait to tell Asuka and Tahmuras!”

She'd gladly accept the head-pats with a continuing smile. Listening to what Ul said, she got a little excited. “So we're all going to work together to get the last cat, like one big team?” Her eyes had widened at the thought. “I think that would be really cool!”

It'd take them a bit to return to where they spotted the catnip and even longer to pick it. Seeing how it was 'fresh' it wasn't all that strong in scent, but rubbing in enough would surely leave a notable scent regardless. That said, they'd not be able to make it back in time (in this post) before the others could act. Besides, they'd have to try get close enough to the cat first, so that it could actually smell them.

Meanwhile, Amice was confused by Marius reaction. “Yes! Sixteen. Almost... sixteen and one... Seventeen!” She'd state, after double-checking on her fingers.

Upon seeing Marius bring in Luna, she would look relieved. “It seemed she got a bit too much catnip with the sachet tearing up, but it'll wear off before long.” She'd nod at the mention of Sprinkles. “Sometimes I wonder if Sprinkles can predict the future, she does seem to know when to heal someone before they even get hurt sometimes.”

Upon hearing Luna was rowdy, she sighed. “My apologies, it seems Luna is still struggling the most with our retirement.” She'd pick up the tea pot and a cup. “Would you like a cup, before you continue?”

Tiger, having made a game out of not being trampled to death by an Edgeknight and his utmost dashingly evil horse, would leave the latter behind with ease. Edwin, meanwhile, would likely need to go inside to reclaim the sachet from Marius (or worse, from Luna) or request for a new one from lady Felnius. Or he would need to sent one of the peasants to go fetch it, of course. That said, whilst he may have cooled down now, Tiger had not. Should he look up towards the roof the cat had teleported onto, the cat would give him a teasing Meow! from above. It seemed this cat wasn't afraid to walk on the edge when it came down to it.

As Aureliana was the second person suggestion to just burn the cats, things seemed to be getting heated. Perhaps pyromania was the solution to everything after all? That said, Aniel seemed to tone them down again. Make flames of love, not flames of war. Something like that, perhaps.

After his speech on the catology of cathy's name, Aniel had slowly and steadily flown up to the roof. Thankfully, not so slow that it'd allow the cat to ear through the fish to go eat it in the meantime. Oddly enough, it seemed to work. The cat backed away from his fish, allow Aniel to cut it up for him. That said, he'd backed away. So the only thing Aniel had gotten close to was the fish. Not the cat. The cat did look at him expectantly though, clearly hoping to get some fresh sashimi out of this arrangement.

There was little time, if any, for him to say anything to the pink-shrimp, before he simply flew away, wings and all, after the cat. If he were without his helmet, the puzzlement currently crossing through his mind would have been evident for all. With that, his attention was directed to the woman who was left.

"Mmm? Another pyromaniac?" The dark knight asked, looking at her through the abyss-like holes of his helmet. "Well, then why not simply burn the animal just enough for it to not be able to concentrate?" He chuckled under his breath as those cruel words took shape. "What that pink fool doesn't know is that neither death nor wounds are obstacles for someone such as I. Of course, the thought of someone conquering these barriers would never cross the mind of the weak and meek." The pride in his own capabilities were total and unwavering.

"Just make sure to not turn the pest into ashes. That would be a tad too much, even for someone of my capabilities..." A wide vile and cruel grin would take shape under his helmet, hidden under its protection. "... and if you do, well, it will just be a tad more hilarious."

Suddenly, a meow had caught his attention. Edwin looked upwards, seeing the cat meowing towards him, most likely gloating how it had escaped the deadly trampling. "..." For a moment, there was no sound, not a single word that came from the baronet. His breathing could barely be heard. That was unnatural, odd, so much so that even his dastardly evil horse looked distressed, shaking its head left and right.

"I shall procure some of that sachet we used previously." With a flat tone, he turned his animal around, making way towards the client's house.

“Ah — I wouldn’t use the term pyromaniac...” Aureliana shook her head, refusing to take up the title. Such a term would insinuate she has no clear motives other than an uncontrollable urge to set things ablaze. She very much had her reasons and possessed clear control over her own flames — which is why the village was not currently burning. “Er… yes, of course.” A raised eyebrow was offered his way, clearly not convinced by his confident words of himself. As intimidating as the knight may be, she had yet to see him perform any feats that would convince her to trust him on words alone.

“Do not worry. I will not burn the cat.” As she did not want to incur the wrath of a noblewoman. Her attention followed up towards the roof where the orange cat meowed back down at them, almost tauntingly. While she was unbothered by the sound, she couldn’t help but look over to the knight who remained unnervingly still for a brief moment. “Hmm…” Her lips curled into a small smile, amused. Neither death nor wounds are obstacles for someone such as the knight before her yet a teasing meow from a mere cat is enough to strike a nerve.

“Very well. I will be here… waiting to see if the angelic man fumbles the feline once again.”

Please let the power of love win in the end. :(
  • Aniel smiled seeing that the cat trusted him enough to believe that he'd keep his word and, Aniel fully intended to keep his word. He fluttered down from the air, balancing alongst the edge of the rooftop as he squatted near by to the fish.

From his satchel, he pulled out his letter-opener, which found itself more used as a utility knife than a letter-opener. Aniel paused as he stared at the fish, it looked kind of like a stingray, he thought. He stared at it for a while. The problem arose in the fact that Aniel excelled at ruining every recipe and was thus never allowed to cook in the kitchen, let alone hold a knife to cut up fish. Notwithstanding, Aniel did his best with the little skill he had, attempting to cut off the tough skin of the fish and removing any... gross looking bits.

He hoped that this little favour to the cat would make it more amiable toward him. "You know, I bet this would taste much better if you fry it at home and eat it with your family," He said, his hand almost slipping and cutting himself as a result. "You have lots and lots of brothers and sisters, don'tcha? I'm sure your owner, Cathy, misses you a WHOLE lot too." Slicing away at the meat before shredding it and removing the sharp bones with his hands. "I always found that, when I'm eating with people that I love, the food tastes the best. Everything here tastes bland since its so hard to make any close friends." Aniel smiled in spite of the momentary quiver in his voice. He placed the shredded fish meat a bit closer to the cat before scooting away himself away.

"So why don't you go on and use that ability of yours to go straight back home after your done eating? That hot chick had another one of this which I'm sure she could cook up for you and your family. You get to have seconds and you wouldn't hafta tell anyone you already ate! I won't say nothin', I promise." Again, Aniel hoped that his [Persuasion] would pull through again. "So just go on home after yer done, yeah?♡" He smiled, repeating himself.

Having went to collect catnip just in case the others couldn't manage to catch the last cat, Ul would finish gathering it and begin heading back to see if the others had managed to do so yet. The day had been quite long, the elf was hoping they'd have it figured out by the time they got back so her and Viole could see to whatever was left, and begin taking their leave in order to get busy in important work. There was a point of interest in the See of Fae she wanted to check out, though it might've needed a little more prep before she went there.

Either way, the elf was pretty convinced that wrangling the last cat would be over and done with soon.

Edwin would be able to procure the sachet from lady Felinus without too much issue. Although with the scent still being far from Tiger, it was difficult to lure the cat with it. (Unlikely odds 1/50, dice rolled 15.) He'd have to try get it a lot closer to Tiger before it would start to have any effect.

Seeing how Aureliana decided to observe, all she got was a questioning Meow? from the rooftops, as is to ask why she wasn't playing along with the cat's games.

The cat carefully observed Aniel butchering the fish (and throwing away some of the tastiest bits for some reason) as the latter talked. Whilst the cat seemed to consider his words and actions, it remained at a distance. Aniel would get a questioning Meow? instead. Only when Aniel scooted away did the cat slowly come close to quickly snag a piece of fish to gobble up. The extend at which the cat truly understood him or not remained a mystery. He'd still get the occasional glare to see if he wasn't getting too close again as the cat was munching on the fish.

As Ul would approach, carrying the catnip and covered in the scent of having gathered it, she ended up facing the same issue as Edwin. She'd need to get the scent closer to the cat for it to really have a good shot at working.

Meanwhile, Amice didn't really have any ideas of her own either. The best she could come up with was to approach the area and call out. “Here, here, kitty kitty!” Who knows, perhaps the cat just needed to be called? Needlessly to say, it didn't really help out either.

While waiting for the knight to return, Aureliana watched Aniel’s attempts to persuade the cat. She raised her eyebrow, wondering if the cat could even understand their language. It was unlikely but with the occasional meows they were given, it made her wonder.

Once Edwin returned, she looked between the sachet and the cat, hoping that would be enough to lure it away from the rooftop. However, it would seem the cat held no interest considering how far away they were from it. “We will need to bring it closer.” She stated, turning her attention back to the pair on the roof. “Angelic man!” Aureliana called out. “Come retrieve this!” She gestured towards the sachet while she decided to ignite a flame within her open palm, holding her remaining fish over it to toast it.

“You there!” Her piercing gaze snapped over to a nearby woman who seemed to be carrying some sort of herb. Aureliana remembered the fisherman’s advice to season the fish with light herbs. “Is that dill? Ah, no matter. Bring it here — we are trying to lure that feline creature.” She turned the fish on its other side, warming it up with her fire while she waited to see if Ul would be generous enough to spare some catnip to season the fish with. Once the fish was prepared, she would hand it off to Aniel to bring back up to the rooftop.

Viole having gathered a fair amount of catnip along with some other herbs, he followed his lady and Amice. Seeing them approach the other group and the cat with Amice going off to distract the cat Viole would bring the catnip and a few herbs to the woman who called out his ladyship. Though as he was passing her the catnip he said.
"Please don't go Hey there often, people have names and they prefer to be called by them, though I do understand not calling us as such since we did not greet each other."
As Viole was saying that he was giving the catnip and herbs a quick bath to clean them from filth by using his water magic and control environment at once to do it quickly before passing it to the women who appeared to be wanting to use the grilled and seasoned with catnip fish to lure the cat.

As he came back with the sachet, Edwin would gallop towards Aureliana, who seemed to have a plan. With the damned cat not taking the bait from that distance, it appeared that it needed to be brought closer to the animal. "Very well, I will allow for one more peaceful approach. If it doesn't work, I'm killing the cat and bringing its fetid corpse back to lady Fellinus." This time around, there was no mocking laughter, no chuckle that accompanied his words. Only its dry, killing intent.

And, after proclaiming the possible fate of the cat, he would open the sachet slightly, seasoning the toasted fish. "This should do it." And, also holding out the opened bag to hand it over, his helmet slowly turned towards Aniel. "GET DOWN HERE, YOU PINK IMBECILE AND TAKE THESE TO THAT INSUFFERABLE SCOURGE!" He bellowed, his patience having already come to an end.

It took everything within me not to purposefully ignore Edwin out of in-character spite.
  • Watching the cat meow and glare at him made Aniel scoot a bit further away from the cat. Aniel scratched his head. "I do not at all understand," He sighed, "You have a big cute family, a loving owner who adores you and the ability to come and go as you please and yet you would rather stay up here and eat all alone even though you clearly do not like me at all." The swainling sulked, his head sinking down into a slump. "Is being loved not enough for you? Why are you so stubborn?" Aniel asked the cat in a soft tone subtly laced with irritation. He was a bit too busy sulking to hear Aureliana call out to him.

"Oh whatever, be your stupid lonely and stubborn self, will ya? One day, you'll go back and have nothing to greet you—" Edwin yelling interrupted Aniel's vitriol. He flinched and his entire body tensed. The soft curls of his hair would've shot up in spikes if this was a cartoon, instead; his wings opened up wide and with all his feathers ruffled, like a bird ready to fly away at the sound of a slight step. He turned his gaze down to the group who all looked like tiny ants from where he was perched.

Aniel stood, stretching his arms. He was tempted to just stand there, stick out his tongue and curse the knight for shouting at him so rudely, but Aniel didn't have any proof that the knight could not so accurately throw his lance like a javelin and have Aniel's prettiest face look like a spiedino. He jumped off the roof to quicken his descent, gliding down in a more than timely fashion with loose feathers following behind him in a scarce scatter of blush pink.

He floated leisurely to Aureliana, taking the fish with a smile. "Grazie♡ This will taste much, much better than my poorly diced sashimi." The swainling said before fluttering up to Edwin to grab the bag. Aniel pointed at Edwin and without a smile or his overbearingly friendly tone, said: "You have no redeeming qualities." Which was his way of saying, I don't like you at all. With his opinion made clear, Aniel floated up to the cat for round 2 of go fish.

"Ciao, mio amico! Now that you have finished that disgusting appetizer, I present to you this utterly decadent dish of divine delicacy and utter tenderness which is sure to be to your fine feline taste~♡" Aniel presented the fish, placing it somewhere beside the other fish before scooting away from both the cat and the fish once again and crouching down. "Truly, please do enjoy it... or whatever... I am sure you'll like it." He smiled, laying his head onto his arms folded atop his knees. If the plan went according to plan, Aniel would bring down the cat to Lady Catherine.

Having made it back with Viole, it appeared as if... nope, they hadn't managed do it yet. A soft sigh, she found herself and her construct companion soon enough asked by another working on the same goal for the catnip they possessed.
"Sure, anything that wraps this up, since you're all already struggling from what it looks like... " Ul would mention, muttering the last part under her breath as she looked to Viole who was already handing it over. Stretching as she watched the slightly organised chaos going on, the elf decided to take a step back and let the others figure it out, they'd surely have it done right this time.

"Hopefully that's over with that, I'm honestly starting to get a wee bit sick of this town now, and it felt so quaint when we showed up. Maybe we can go take a break in the city or something, I got plans but I'd imagine wanting a break and change of pace first. Maybe it'd give you the time to work on something, like with that silk you'd gotten elsewhere" Ul answered to Viole, seeing as the small bit of off-time could be put to good use to let the construct expand their skillset. She was sure there was a lot of usefulness she could put that time to as well.

Tea had something quite interesting about it.

Something strangely soothing about how seemingly simple the drink is. Marius didn't know a lot about tea, not at all. In fact, he much preferred coffee. But this cup of tea was phenomenal. He was not at all sure whether this was because of its quality - after all, it's a retired noble's house - or because it was akin to a slight, simple bit of respite after his troubles. He forgot to keep track of time, to keep track of his task. Until, of course, he heard the baronet's loud bark of an order.

He completely forgot that the knight even came back. Marius did notice him, but he was a little too lost in thought. What would've happened had a rock actually hit his forehead? Magic, surely, heals brain damage, and Sprinkles had so far done nothing but bring much confidence. But Luna, as high off of catnip as she is right now, unintentionally reminded Marius of his own mortality, his own ability to meet an end. He wasn't quite sure whether he was in an existential crisis or tired, but whatever it was, it made him feel gloomier than usual.

Edwin was successful in reminding Marius of his task, no matter how much the knight did not mean to, no matter how much the knight did not care to. "I truly am sorry," Marius said to Lady Felinus in a hurry, feeling a little guilty for having emptied dozens of teacups with not a care in the world. "I might've overstayed my welcome. Excuse me, then." He walked off, towards the sound of the racket that signaled a continuing fight with the feline menace.

As he reached the battlefield, Marius raised a single eyebrow. There were more people here. In fact, far more than he expected. Out of everyone, he recognized only Edwin and the smoking bicycle group, with the elf and androgynous fellow seemingly staying back to observe. Two new, unknown to Marius warriors seemed to have entered the fray: a pink, winged, adorned fabulously in overly decadent attire person, and a somehow fiery woman, strangely beautiful to Marius because of that.
Some might call this a freak show, or see it as a travelling circus. But to Marius, this brought him back to a previous giddiness - yes, he was in a different world, and this might as well be his first adventure.

But this ordeal seemed to be slowly meeting its end. Marius gazed at the roof with the cat, trying to ignore the strong smell of the catnip, standing by idly. He wondered, for just a moment, if this is the only adventure he'll ever have in this world, for no reason in particular. At the same time, he felt excited at the prospect of traveling around, doing even more side jobs.
He should, ideally, be focused on the matter at hand. But seeing how everyone has already set everything in place, it seemed that there was not much for him to do either way. And so he was simply on standby.
