They're a little more out there, but Micachu & The Shapes is also an amazing band.


If you're into more chill ambient stuff, I highly recommend Little People, Tycho, and XXYYXX.


If you're looking for "girl power fuck yeah" music then listen to Boyfriend. She's rad.

Not certain if Death Grips is still non-mainstream or not. They have become quite popular!
Either way, Death Grips are great!

I adore Death Grips. The Money Story and Exmilitary are awesome albums.

I was just listening to Crybaby, what a great album! I love Soap, Dollhouse, and Alphabet Boy.

Caravan Palace and Two Door Cinema Club are great. Aviators for fandom related music, though I'm not too keen on the MLP songs. Sim Gretina is also great. They're all great.

The Gaslight Anthem is an amazingly underrated alternative rock band. If you like metal, Dethklok (or anything by frontman Brendon Small) is probably going to blow you away. Legitimately. The show Metalocalypse is goofy and all that, but there's seriously palpable artistic talent behind it.
