The year is 2037. A virus had begun to spread - of which was called the Noctis Agita - and was estimated to eradicate half of the planet’s population. When the death toll greatly succeeded their predictions, the CDC - the Center for Disease Control - released an anti-pathogen in attempts to save what remained of the world’s population. Unfortunately, though, only 10% of the general populace survived the apocalypse.
Whilst they were working on the anti-pathogen to save humanity, the CDC discovered an innate gene that triggered a certain factor in which they did not have time to test. To do further studies on this mystery gene that they’d discovered, they’d taken 2000 test subjects, and cryo-froze them, setting their awakening year to 2057, which was 20 years in the future.
After 20 years had passed, the world had been thrown into disarray; plant life was nearly extinct, as were animals. Along with that, the majority of the already scarce water supply throughout the land was contaminated.
The entire world was a wasteland, and the only way the humans could survive was if they banded together. As has always been the way of the world, though, there were many people that had conflicting ideas. This lead to the remaining population to split into ‘factions.’ Now, the world must fight against the impending destruction of their planet as they fight against each other.
While they worked to adjust to their new lifestyle, the 200 unfrozen survivors took up residence in the bunker, awaiting the day they’d venture out and join the battle against the impending death of the planet, and the ever-going battle between each other.
Supplies are running short, equipment is scarce, and the only communications being received are repeated distress calls -- from the CDC. Most of the world has already laid down and died… will you join them, or instead take the fight to the outside world?
- Every character will start off as the frozen test subjects that are now unfrozen.
- You can decide to make your own little group, join a faction, or just be a lone wolf.
- You cannot make factions, but as I said, you can make your own little group, name it, and team up with other survivors.
- If you did not already know, this takes place in 2057. The virus took place in 2037.
- Bandits
- The bandits are the portion of the population that feel as though the wasteland should be an ‘every man for themselves’ world. Bandits form together to raid people and wasted buildings that may have something in them. They share the loot they find. They are generally found alone though, and rarely do they team up. Only when doing large-scale raids or scavenges will they join forces.
- Death Cult
- Their wish is to die with the rest of the world’s population in the name of Christ. At the pinnacle of their goals, they will joint suicide, blessing Christ’s name as they do so. Death Cult recruits members, but they sometimes slaughter recruits if not fit. Before their joint suicide; the rest of the world’s population must be dead.
- Ghouls
- They eat bones of the dead when they cannot find survivors, and work with bandits in exchange for corpses. They believe they survived the apocalypse from eating other people (which may partly be true considering the “immortality gene” -- and think/know eating flesh of other survivors makes them stronger (which may or may not be true).
- Iron 'Berg
- A blob of ships gathered around an offshore oil rig, they believe the land is contaminated and resolve to build new land by clumping more and more ships together.
- Hivers
- A bee preservation commune which when their leader died, elected the bees as their leader. See the purity and disinfecting properties of honey as what saved them, they strive to be a hive-mind and wear “stingers” -- bombs that kill them when they strike out at threats to the hive.
- Rollerville
- Chains of buses and trucks bristling with broadside weaponry, they sustain themselves moving from fuel depot to fuel depot, and trade in safe passage of goods and people around the known sectors.
- The Dammed
- Fatalists by nature, their name is also in reference to their base being a giant hydroelectric dam. Having access to near endless reserves of water and power, and the dam being naturally defensible, they are a strong holdfast of civilization. The common idea is that their luck won’t last, but they’re living for today.
- Intra-Terrestrials
- They went below ground and are NOT immune, and interact with the surface via hover-drones and robots of varied complexity. They often send robots out on "quests" for the strangest of things (Rare wines, art, next-gen tech) to take back to base. They are terrified of actual contact with people and are generally germaphobes. They refer to the common survivor as "walking shit containers".
- Pit Crew
- They are mechanics and nobody attacks them because they stay neutral and repair/upgrade vehicles for everyone who can pay them. They also establish "pits" - safe enclaves where they run their garages.
- Gangsters
- Lots of people pay them "protection" and their territory consists of settlements that pay not to be burned down by them. If you pay your taxes, they increase your rate. If you can't, they hurt you really bad. So people in the ganglands are very desperate and prey on strangers.

- So, there's Quarantine. If you have any suggestions or questions, just post. Once we get enough interests, we'll post the Main Thread, CS, and OOC.
