To address Petal's question - all players need to make a new thread in HERE where they will copy/paste and fill out the template found HERE.
Tempest I know it's not mentioned, but there is the possibility to make your own race, like one of the players has done already. In this case, please make sure to create it exactly like I did with the template races. I need to know a few details about them so I can define the racial bonuses and logically insert them into the story, since only the three predefined races are of the Alliance. Everyone else needs a good explanation how they got into a covert Alliance operation. But it's perfectly possible.
I picked the Mass Effect races simply because there's a ton of fan art people can use to illustrate their characters

We're still waiting for Keiro and Grem to complete their sheets. Keiro needs to finish up on the points, and Grem hasn't been heard from in a while, but I think he'll be back soon. If we have to, we'll start without him. And of course, more players might join up as the game progresses.

A note to players
Since I didn't enforce a color system for character speech, meaning you are all writing in black text unlike most RPGs out there, there are a few things we should straighten out regarding formatting that will ensure maximum readability.
Spoken words should be bolded and in quotes: "Everyone was dead. The end."
Thoughts should be bolded, in italic, without quotes: Shite. Did I just press the button that killed everyone?
If you have the need to quote someone who spoke before you, do it like your character is thinking it. Since it's all the same color it's not a good idea to write it as if it's being spoken again. Alternatively, sometimes you can avoid quoting altogether and write something like: "...she said, replying to the commander."

A heads up concerning mission preparations:
Your characters are supposed to go down to the armory to stock up. You have two options for handling this. You can either make a shorter post without great detail and PM me the list of weapons, armor and utilities you're taking - or alternatively you can compose the list in-character, literally describing the process of your character stocking up on stuff. Your choice.
The technology catalog is available HERE. Right now you are limited to the A.T.W.A. manufacturer, which is the usual provider for Alliance Military. It stands for Alliance Tactical Weapons and Armor, in case anyone wants to know.
Keep in mind that there are reasonable restrictions, for example you can't carry two assault rifles or take two sets of armor etc. Briefly, some ground rules:
- You can only have 1 knife.
- You can have a maximum of 2 main weapons, but not duplicates (assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles)
- If you choose 2 pistols, you can only have 1 main weapon.
- If you choose 2 main weapons, you can only carry 1 pack of grenades.
- It is advisable, but not mandatory, to carry a First Aid Kit.
There might be exceptions or other disallowed combinations, but I can't think of any and don't want to complicate matters further so I'll deal with them when and if they show up.
On another note, some players are still inactive even thought their profiles have been approved. I have no idea why, but it would be best if they got to posting before the mission starts. I'll delay a bit, but not indefinitely because of the other players who are actually playing.

Also, to state: The plot will not continue until all active players submit their lists of chosen weapon/armor/utility. Once your lists are in - no confirmation is required, but I will act if there is something unacceptable - you should proceed into the cargo bay to meet up with everyone else.
As for the inactive players, I'll send the PMs, but if they really don't show up then we're starting without them, and I may just have the first victims. Someone has to die to make this a realistic game > : )

I'm now open for requests for character banners. I'll take practically any specifications as long as you give me the image resources i'll need. Let me know if you want something specific, or if i should just wing it.
Here is the one i made for stop. It's simple and took me like 15 mins, with no extra drafts or anything. I'd put more time into it, but it's not super needed.

Seeing your banner made me wish I had found a picture for my character. I'll go search the web again, it would be awesome if you made one for me. If I find it I'll be sure to send you the link. You really hit the style, looks nice.

Players Zekaire and KeiroD are not answering my attempts to contact them, so I've marked them Inactive for now. We'll play without them, and if they come back I can easily add them to the story.
As for the rest of you lot, I've updated your inventories like you requested. I've had a few minor issues, but it's ok, namely:
- Aril has been allowed to carry 2 first aid kits since she didn't take alot of equipment and she's the most skilled healer, so this is one decision you'll all be glad I made
- No armor has been specified by Falchion for Shawn, so I wrote down Light Armor, seeing as he specialized in it. Just a question, Falchion: Are you really sure you don't want a handgun? Having just a knife and a sniper rifle might be somewhat inadvisable, but it's your call and I suppose you can pick up more weapons later ingame. That's fine.
Moving on...
You were all supposed to head down to the cargo bay after stocking up. I guess commander Tyder will have to remind you, before the ship is blown to pieces by hostile planetary defenses. Sheesh.

Just to mention: You are all allowed to have character banners (picture or just text), as well as quoting colors, like TWIF's Stop. I have to admit I completely forgot about those things until TWIF joined up :eek:
It would actually probably be better if you used some kind of banners, at least character names in enlarged text at the start of your each post. It helps knowing who is who and also to remember the names

I'll make banners for everyone just as long as you give me a few nice images to work with. As it sits i'd make one for Lareo but the image is a little to small to work with. If maybe you could find a higher rez one or a totally new one.... or even just something you'd like as a background, i can make it happen.

I'm still trying to find a picture. Whenever I'm looking for a picture to match an existing character, I rarely ever succeed. Failing everything else, I'll have you make me a name on a random background. Better than nothing.

I find that certain types of music, give me inspiration and make it easier for me to put my mind into a situation and think as my character. The problem with thinking as or like my character while posting though, is that too often they end up thinking like me. ><
