Name:Aly Lyndel

Age:16

Physical Characteristics: Black hair, grey eyes, Small and lean

Personality: Shy, sweet, calm,soft-spoken

The bell rang and everybody left class, Aly and her friend Carla rushed out of class with the crowd, Carla laughed "Oh man, that was hilarious, can you believe Mrs. Burgman is so deaf she didn't hear anyone yell 'penis'?" They both laughed hysterically, just then her boyfriend Brad came up "Oh see you later, Aly!" She walked off cuddling Brad. "B-bye" Aly said, sighing as she walked home alone.

Carla was a good friend and all, but she has tons of other friends, not to mention her boyfriend. It seemed everyone had tons of friends, or at least just their boyfriend. She just had Carla, but she didn't just have her, and as for boyfriends, she probably couldn't talk to a boy to save her life. The most awkward thing however, was Carla always talked about losing her virginity to Brad and sex with Brad, to which she had no idea at all about.

That friday night after school, she took a walk to a field of grass, it was far from the houses and away from just about everyone. She sat in the center of the field and laid on her back, she watched the stars twinkle, a scintillating blanket of beauty, led by the glowing disc of the moon. She sighed, for once she wished there was someone that she would be just as important to as they were to her.

Name: Laharl Dustbringer

Age: 16

Physical Characteristcs: dark red hair that goes down to shoulders, grey eyes, and a dark hoodie

Personality: he may look like a punk bad-boy, but he really is a calm, laid-back and sweet guy

Laharl tredded along the winded path to the field. He saw another person, not close enough to see who is was. He climbed to a tree above this girl, and waited a while. After about ten minutes, he finally spoke," Hey..." He mumbled. Laharl was sure he had surprised her. He was very quiet when he sat. He looked down, his hoodie shifting slightly from the wind.

Aly looked over to the person who had just appeared, "Oh..H-Hi" She muttered, wondering why he had appeared. Normally people don't come around here, it was her own private little world. But here this guy was, she wondered if he might be here to cause trouble, after all, why else would a guy like him be out here all alone.

She suddenly felt self conscious "Oh..I'm just out here doing...uh..." she couldn't think of a better reason why she would be out here. She felt that just telling the truth would sound kind of dumb.

"Nice reason," he muttered sarcastically, he leaped down with much grace. Laharl sat criss-crossed beside her. He took out a candy bar and chomped on it. Chocolate filled his mouth, then looked over to Aly and shuffled around in his pockets. Laharl then waved a candy bar infront of Aly and mumbled quietly," You want some?" He tried to be nice, given his scary appearance.

"I guess" she took the candy bar from himand took a bite. "So...what brings you here?" she asked. She studied him closely, he didn't seem too bad, she guessed, but there was something about the way he looked that made him seem a bit dangerous. "What school do you go to?" she blurted out also. That might've been a dumb question. She could feel her cheeks burn with awkwardness. She had never seen him at Lakeview high, he was probably a dropout. Not only that, it seemed a random question to ask right after her first one.

"online home schooled..." Laharl said vaguely. He didn't know why this girl was suddenly interested in him, but she seemed like an upright person. He lived miles away from his family, since they sent him far far away from them. He didn't know why. Not that he cared much. " Guess I got an exceptional education... but I don't get to meet anybody when I'm trapped at home like a rat," Laharl finished his candy bar and licked the corner of his lios, cleaning up some leftover chocolate. He licked like a poison viper who had finished it meal. "Came here to see the view," he whispered and murmured quietly," Scene's beautiful...gorgeus even," Laharl said. He flopped down next to her. "What's your name?" He felt like a creeper for asking," My name's Laharl Dustbringer," he laughed," Funny name, don't you agree?" Laharl laughed again, but quieter.

She laughed "Ha! That is pretty strange, but still, it's pretty cool!", she looked at him "My name's Aly, Aly Lyndel, although it's not quite as cool as Laharl", she looked to the sky, staring deeply into it. "Doesn't it make you want to just go up there, to reach to the stars and never come back" she looked longingly above her, "I wish I could just go away somewhere, run away and go somewhere exciting and new. Of course, too many cops catch runaways, so it's a buzzkill." she shrugged "Apparently they think it's much better to stay at some boring old school with some annoying clique girls talking about you behind your back" she shrugged "Must be nice not to have to go to school" she wondered. She realized how much more open she'd been, and that was weird for her. She blushed, sat up and pulled her knees to her chest and hugged them, "Well, I guess it's not quite the same for you" she whispered.

Laharl looked away," I guess, but it gets kinda lonely," he said quietly," There's no one to talk to, no school buddies, or even anything like that," Laharl stared into the sky and chuckled," Hm, it feels like we're jeolous of eachother," he sighed, putting his arms on the back of his head," It's ironic, really," he whispered," People these days are too absorbed in the little things," Laharl looked at Aly, curious to see the comment he had just made," It's rare to see anyone this interested in the real stuff," he paused," Like the stars in the sky," Laharl' He then held a melancholy look on his face," If anyone's talking behind your back, then you should talk to someone,"

She shrugged "It's not that easy, who do you talk to about someone like that?" she gazed at the sky. It was getting late, this was usually when she would return home, but she didn't actually want to leave Laharl as if she disliked being there with him, she figured she could stay awhile longer. Besides, back home she only had her dog Rocco for company, and if she was lucky, Carla would pick up her phone. Her stepfather wasn't really the type to care about her, and he was always busy with tons of work. She shook her head, why did it matter if she was here or not. She stood up "I should get back home now" she said "Nice meeting you, Laharl", she waved a farewell and turned away. She wondered if she was being overly formal with a kid her age, she might as well have asked him for a handshake while she was at it.

She turned around to look at him one last time before going home.

The next day at school was as eventful as ever, she and Carla had some good times but she was always left in the cold eventually. The reason she felt closer to Carla was she had known her since kindergarten, but she soon became as materialistic, vain, and mean as a lot of the other girls here at this school. It was break, so ignoring the snickers of the other girls around her, she went to her locker to grab a few books.

Laharl waved a goodbya to Aly. She seemed like a nice person, as he picked up his backpack, Laharl walked back home. No use staying if there isn't anyone to talk to. His.dark red hair covered his face as he walked.home. Laharl finally came to a small apartment, small but clean. He flopped his 'pack onto his bed as he stared at the ceiling. Guilt quickly swept over him. He had lied and told her he did online learning. Truth was, he didn't know anything past 6th grade. Heck, he didn't even have internet. Then Laharl had an idea. Maybe he would give this Aly girl a visit at school.

Laharl leaped to the window of the school and snuck in. Even if the building was higher than one story, he could easily clear it if there were any trees. He quickly spotted Aly and snuck up on her. After a little while, Laharl blew into her ear, hoping for a surprise.

(LOl cool pic)

Aly's eyes widened with shock "You! What are you doing here?" She feigned surprise and anger but couldn't help but grin. "Shouldn't you be at home or something?" She slammed her locker door and began to walk down the hallway for lunch. Watching the strange boy warily and wondering how he could possibly have got into the school.

Laharl grinned and followed Aly, ignoring strange glances from other students. He personally loved the attention, but never paid it to any mind. He caught up to her," Whaaat? Can't I visit cha?" Laharl said, his hands in his hoodie pockets. He saw people look at his red hair, which made him kind of uncomfortable. Hesitating, he pulled his hood over his head to hide the strange red hair that now was hidden. "Well, I can be at home, or here!" He admired all the people, teachers, and crowded hallways. Besides, Aly even told him where she went to school, so Laharl couldn't resist. At home, there was only him. Here, there were so many people!

She rolled her eyes, but was secretly glad he'd followed her "If you wanna be here so bad why not sign up for school?" She shrugged, she noticed all the people that turned to look at Laharl and she felt uncomfortable. She found the attention rather strange, would people label her as weird too if she allowed Laharl to stay by her, she already had a bad reputation, for being...her. She shrugged, maybe it was time she stopped worrying about that sort of stuff. She looked to see Laharl pull his hood up, curious she asked "Why would you dye your hair red if you don't want people to stare?"

Laharl put his hand on his chest as if he was accused," Well, for your information, it's natural," he grinned. He'd always loved acting, for he as dramatic on the inside. He noticed some people staring at him very intently, and that got on his nerves. He loved the attention as if he were some sort of superhuman, but he hated it when people saw him as a freak. Laharl flashed some staring students an intimidating glare. Laharl sighed," I just wanna see you, geez," he said rather loudly. He then twitched and realized he just sounded like some sort of creeper and laughed to himself.

Lya raised an eyebrow "You're kidding, thats natural?" She laughed at his theatrical behavior. This was one quirky guy. "Well fine, if that's how it is, lets go to lunch, I'm hungry" she said, as she continued her way to the crowded cafeteria, with the populae kids tables bustling with activity and a few other near empty tables for outcasts. She said to Laharl "and by the way, real or not, I like your hair" She grinned.

Laharl felt his face get warm with blush. This was the first time anyone said they liked his hair. Feeling better, Laharl let down his hood and gave her a half smile. He noticed some other girls looking at him. Ignoring them, he kept following Aly slightly quicker. These glances made him feel wonky. Laharl went up to a vending machine and inserted a dollar. Seconds later, a little soda can popped out. Laharl grabbed the bottle, and sat down with Aly, gulping down an orange-flavored fizzy.

Aly smiled when he took the hood off, she wasn't sure but she think she might've seen him blushing. It was weird to think something she said about him was a big deal. She left him for a moment, grabbing a hamburger and some fries. Seconds later, Laharl joined her. "So..." She made an attempt at conversation, which was new to her since Carla and her airhead girl clique would blather about everything under the sun and never let her get a word in edgewise. "What do you do normally...besides online school stuff" She took a bite of the sandwich and gave him some fries "Want some?"

Laharl warily took sone fries and ate them, feeling the potato-taste fill his mouth. He figited, feeling slightly guilty again but replied," I do skateboarding," he chewed and gulped down the fries. "sometimes when the park is empty I like to go down there." Laharl felt kind of happy talking to Aly. He scratches his leg. Laharl had tons of bandages all around him, giving him the bad-boy or bully look. He especially had bandages on his legs, which he never dared to go out in public in shorts. Two were on hus face, one on his left cheek and another on his nose. Laharl grabbed another fry and dipped it in sone ketchup.

Aly perked up. Skateboarding was one of those things she would be interested in doing. She remembered long ago she had asked her stepfather if she could try it, but he had told her skateboarding was for boys so it didn't matter. "Cool! I've always thought it would be kinda fun to try that" she smiled, "My stepfather won't let me try anything exciting because it could be the least bit dangerous. So I just mostly read and draw" She shrugged "It's alright, but not always the type of hobby that you can brag about". She noticed the bandages again, this time giving it more thought, "Is that what these are from?" She reached out a hand to touch them, but then she pulled back quickly and thought otherwise, deciding against it, What am I doing? she thought

Laharl paused for a moment. He felt uncomfortable talking about his bandages. "Ahh...these aren't from skateboarding..no," he scratched his leg again. "I'm actually very careful with skateboarding," Laharl gave an anxious laugh. He stopped to think if he would tell her," Ah, let's save the secrets for later," he said mysteriously, then decided he wanted to change the subject. "So, Aly, could you show me some of your drawings?" he was interested in art himself, but at every attempt, he failed miserably.

She crossed her arms and pouted "Well, I'm not really a person who likes surprises", she played dissapointed and angry even though she didn't mean it, but she left it at that, she'd let him have his space, it probably wasn't a big deal anyways.

She blinked when he'd ask to see her drawings. "Uh...sure" She whirled her backpack off her back, she shuffled through it and found her sketchbook, she leafed through the pages "Here's a drawing of my dog" It depicted Rocco flopped on his side legs sticking off the small dog bed. She laughed, she had drawn in his sleeping position "Rocco never actually liked getting a new bed, he'd sleep in his same old puppy bed." She went through more pages; she had drawings of dragons, wizards, knights, princesses, and a number of fantasy creatures. She also did drawings of wolves or big cats prowling. Sometimes she did realistic drawings of a pond, or a person, or a lake, with striking detail. She flipped to the last page. It was an old drawing of her mom. Her eyes darkened looking at it, then she slammed the book shut. "Well, that's it" she said, returning the book to her backpack and pushing the sad memories out of her mind so it didn't show in her face.

Laharl put his hand on his cheek, leaning against it. He then leaned closer and asked," Hey, who was that woman on the last page?" His dark eyes blinked," She looked very baeutiful," Laharl shuffled again, then thinking about it," If you don't wanna talk about it, then it's cool with me," Laharl then laughed quietly and said," We all have secrets, now don't we?" He grinned, his teeth gleaming proudly and his hair shifted slightly.

"Hey, who was that woman on the last page" his dark eyes blinked. "She looked very beautiful", Aly stuttered "Oh..she's my..." her voice grew somber. He then replied "It's cool if you don't wanna talk about it with me" She looked back at him "We all have secrets, now don't we?" He flashed a devilish grin and she couldn't help but mimic his grin. "I guess so" she said "Some other time perhaps?" She smiled. Just then the bell rang, "C'mon let's go"

They began to walk out of the cafeteria. Just then Carla showed up, along with one of her blonde friend. "Hey Aly, we missed you at lunch" she noticed the boy next to her and frowned "Who's this your boyfriend?" The girl behind her snickered. Aly blushed "No! No! It's not like that, he's...a friend of mine" she blushed deeply and she couldn't look at Laharl at this moment. She wished she had a hood at that moment, to hide from everyone like he had before. "Carla...this is Laharl" she attempted an introduction. Carla looked at the boy and she said "Oh hey...La...harl, what's up with the hair?" she crinkled her brow. "Well whatever, see ya guys later I guess" Carla left, but Aly heard the blond girl giggle and mutter 'Lahurl' under her breath.

Aly sighed and walked to class "Sorry about that, she's not exactly...the greatest", it'll get better I guess. Her embarrasment slowly started to fade. She reached her class "Well, this is it, unless you can find a way into here to" She smiled, "If not, I'll be same place after school today" She implied the field where she first met him.

When Carla mentioned him being Aly's boyfriend, his face flushed a deep red. He thought in the back of his head, ' she would never be into me...' And pushed it to the back of his mind. He twitched slightly when he heard the blonde girl say something, but thought it was his imagination. He followed Aly to her next class and nodded. Laharl laughed and snickered," I'll find a way," and paused. He sounded like a creeper again and sighed.

(wait, which class ish it? Dependz on class for him to sneak in xD )
