In order to assist in the apprehending of criminals, the NCPD, and most police forces around the world use a category system to classify parahumans. This power classification system generally denotes a type of power and how dangerous it is to the general public. The ratings of all PCs will range from 1-10, and PCs can have more than one classification if their power is flexible, or if they have several. A 1 denotes a power that places you just above the average human, and a 10 denotes that a specialized operation will probably be needed to take that Super down. For more information on how classifications work, please see the wiki. The power categories are as follows:

Mover - Enhanced movement
Shaker - Ability with an area of effect
Brute - Enhanced strength/durability
Breaker - Able to shift into another state (Breaker form)
Tinker - Creates futuristic /advanced technology
Blaster - Long-ranged offensive ability
Thinker - Ability focused on information gathering/manipulation
Striker - Melee / touch-oriented ability
Changer - Able to change form or appearance
Trump - Able to manipulate other powers
Master - Capable of controlling others or creating minions
Stranger - Stealth or infiltration-focused

Many Supers choose to register with an agency, though not all. Generally speaking, the funding, protection, and connections that various groups provide outweigh the drawbacks they may bring with them. The MegaCorporations in particular find Supers of valuable use, augmenting them with whatever cyber ware they can before sending them out as enforcers.

MegaCorps
The worldwide conglomerates that decide who lives and dies; most span the globe and are currently making their foray into the stars. Due to the presence of Tinkertech, the cybernetic advancements of many organizations grew by leaps and bounds, as did the power they exerted around the world. The national governments stood no chance. The United States eventually reformed into the New United States, but by then it was too late, they would never again run the world. The Corporations listed are by no means the only ones, simply the most prominent.

Arasaka - One of the most popular MegaCorps, their equipment is sought after throughout the galaxy. Beginning as a humble Yakuza front, the company quickly found they could press any Tinkers into their service through sheer force. It wasn't long before they established themselves as one of the most powerful organizations in the world. Today Arasaka is led by the head of the Yakuza Clan that spawned it, a ruthless man who is as feared as he is successful.

Lockheed Boeing - A massive corporate merger at the beginning of the First Corporate War resulted in Lockheed Martin buying out Boeing, and merging into the first MegaCorp. Their lobbyists were directly responsible for the dissolution of power the central government once held. The current CEO is toying with the idea of renaming the company "Militech," though investors fear it will distance them from the companies they used to be.

General Kellog's PepsiCo - The sole largest food manufacturer in the System. Realizing they held a near monopoly on all means of food production, several Pre-Collapse civilizations joined together and used their massive wealth to hire all the best Private Military Corporations. Enemies of Kellogs were starved out, and the few who managed to survive the Corpo-imposed famine were quickly mowed down by their armies.

TenCent - The premier Chinese MegaCorp, it became famous upon launching the first Lunar Habitat Module, establishing the Lunar colonies. It started as a Chinese holdings company, buying up everything it could in the wake of the corporation wars. Today it manufactures nearly everything, from anime to military-grade cybertech, along with being the de facto government of the Chinese Coalition.

Omnitech Solutions - An up-and-coming MegaCorp run by an enigmatic Tinker. The Corporation has been taking Night City by storm, despite their relatively small size. Having constructed the Orbital Elevator, Omnitech suddenly found itself at the center of all interstellar trade.

REO Meatwagon - The biggest corpse retrieval company in the NUSA. They also produce biotech, 3d print organs, and loan them out to people who can't afford to buy them outright. They also maintain a team of debt collectors who retrieve assets from customers who fall behind on their payments.

Mikoyan - The Soviet Defense Agency, controlling most of Russia, the Baltic States, and the Slavic States. A majority of the world's oil supply is controlled by this company, though they have been losing influence as the world moves towards alternative energy.

XetaWares - Specializing in alien tech, equipment from this corporation is exceedingly rare. It is generally assumed their base of operations is in the Pleiades System, as that is what the robotic vendors who make up its staff insist. Their first contact with humans was established in 2121 when a foreign spacecraft piloted by an advanced AI entered the Pavonis System, which was about twenty light years from Earth.

Weyland-Yutani - Formed in 2099 by the merger of Weyland Corps and Yutani Inc, the newly formed Weyland-Yutani took the world by storm. Specializing in synthetic life and organic weapons, they became a key player in the Second, Third, and Fourth Corporation Wars. Using their synthetic life, they spread to the stars, using androids to colonize systems that most would consider too far.
