So I think I have it. What if Zero's step father is really working with Kumi's father? The coup is actually to wipe out the Uchiha clan, not to just fight it out. The step father did the experiments to strengthen Zero so they could kill him and take his parts and use them to experiment more on Kumi, to make her the ultimate fighter.
