So, the Firm is actually evil, then? I had been under the impression that they were supposed to be morally vague opportunists who made money off heroism, but still enabled heroes to better help people. If they're actually hiring villains to attack people, that clears up any ambiguity in favor of The Firm Is Evil, And Should Be Stopped Once We Find Out.
From my understanding from Wizard. They aren't per say evil as they are morally vague. This is because the villains while evil and basically allowed to do what they like also prevent crime by basically making the villains/evil-dorers compete for resources, territory and rankings. This competition makes it so even organized crimes or gangs unrelated to the show have a harder time making their own established operations. This may cause some groups to become hired by the super villains and put on a show rather than just working in the criminal underworld or making profit without the corporations being involved. Control the whole thing and keeping the peace all with a money operation behind it.

That being said, Wizard did say something about how there is still genuine criminals and super villains who don't work for the firm at all. In those cases then, the firms use heroism to profit.

Well, I am planning on a 'boyfriend complication' who decided that the criminal underworld pays better, and gives better benefits - like free blow and chicks. I figure that some of the corps support the underworld making the drugs and such, or at least the materials to make them. But for a guy wanting a nice car, cool clothes, access to clubs, and all the blow and speed you can huff, the. Criminal underworld would be a good place to set yourself up.
The underworld needs heroes too. Morally ambiguous and greedy hedonists should apply.
He sounds... Pleasant.

My character's complications are that she hears the whispers of an imprisoned being from beyond space and time in her head, and that she's asexual. >_>

@solyrflair That's some oddly specific sexuality there. ;)
Well, it's part of a backstory that I hope to write up tonite and maybe finish the character sheet. I wanted a storyline where an old friend of hers, who would likely show up at some point, and drag her back into a friends with benefits relationship. Anyone Lil meets who looks similar will be evaluated against her friend. I may go back and re-edit to be bisexual, since her focus is blondes, being either male or female.

Oh, sorry, did I pick your character. Let me look.... Nope. Shaggy blonde, probably not. Not sure you want to RPs where our characters are flirty.

Hey all, just giving some time for characters to be completed before I start the game.

Given the capitalist nature of heroes, this song is definitely what I consider to be the theme for all of us.

The Firm(s) are capitalist. Heroes are much more varied, and are able to be actual good guys with altruistic motives. Edward wants to help people. While he's glad to have a steady income from it, he's the Good Guy first.

Heather does it for the rush, but is a general good person. Doesn't mean that stardom is a world where heroism calls home.

Now, the capitalist world is not for the faint of heart and profits come first and often gets in the way of doing the right thing. When you get down to it, you gotta do what your boss tells you to or you get canned.

Yeah- I am asking if I can be paid to be a Villain. That is, be hired to be, a villain. Likely change name from Merlin to something more sinister if that's the case.
No.

The difference between @Miz is that he isn't evil, hes just does what hes told to do because he has no other option. No genuinely evil characters.
That was sort of my concept with Lurk, tbh. Not as a villain, necessarily, but as a punch clock Gritty Antihero . Her sponsors want to evoke a certain image, and she's got to play the game in order to generate sufficient worship for her old god patron.
Thats fine, thats not a villain. In your process to good things, you just happen to be gaining warship for your god patron.

Aight. I can still be a /dick/ right? I wasn't even thinking someone /actually/ evil if I was a villain, but someone whose powers looked to fucking creepy for him to be paid to be a hero, but I'll just eliminate hte creepy factor and be a straight up Merlinesque Wizard. Wish I could find an Editable PDF to post..

I wouldn't mind some help with Stats... M@M Is a Strange, Strange system to me, and last I played was 2nd Edition.

I'm honestly waiting until we get the info on our sponsors or this weekend when I'll have a few hours spare.
Alright I'll post that up soon then!
Would anyone like help from me to finish their characters?
I finished the character last night. Now I just need an editable PDF to load it onto. Anyone have a link to a good one? Otherwise I'll just rip one into Pages and post a PDF that I make myself.
