Heyo. The names BackSet. How goes it?
I can't RP with you (way to busy for that) but I can tell you a little bit about this forum and how it works.
So, there are two main different types of RPs: 1x1 and Group.
Now, these are each exactly what they say on the tin. 1x1 is two people RPing together. The most common 1x1 rps are romance rps but that's not always the case (oh, and before you try to get into romance rps: We have a no erotic rping rule).
Group RPs are rps with large groups. Usually 5 (or 4 if you're really having trouble) or more people. Group rps are seperated into subtypes based off of genre: Fantasy, Futuristic, Realistic/Modern, Fandom, Dice, Nation Building, Questing, and colosseum. The last 4 are a but complicated for a newbie given that they use different mechanics (which is impressive since normal roleplays usually don't have mechanics outside of the ocassional mana reserve) so let's just stick with the first four.
Fandom is obvious: any fandom you might like can be roleplayed there (lots of harry potter and anime over there, let me tell you). Fantasy is also obvious: Knights and dragons and elves and all that good, D&D/Tolkein/whatever stuff. Realistic/modern is basically anything that takes place with in a modern and/or realistic setting. So that ranges from urban fantasy to high school rps. And Futuristic is Sci-fi. Star wars type stuff. Or star trek. Or 1984 or cyberpunk 2020 (and/or chberpunk 2077). Or shadowrun.
Now, there are also three rp writing styles. Sinple, casual, and complex.
Simple is literally anything. One liners and all that.
Casual isn't strict but it generally sticks to the guidelines of "stay within a paragraph or you're out" and complex is basically "you need to write [number of paragraphs] per post or you're out."
And that's what you need to know.
