Fantasy New World

AzamiRp

Real life cat girl researcher
"ean..." There's a sort of echo in the air. The air is heavy in this room.
"Sean" It's strange how quickly these things happen. No prep time, nothing. Just out of nowhere.
"Sean get down here, you're breakfast is gonna get cold!"

Sean lurched up in his bed, breathing heavily. His ears ringing from the gunshot that brought him here. He blinked repeatedly trying to clear his vision. Out of habit, he shouted "Im coming!", down the stairs.
Habit? He had never been here before. And yet it all felt so normal. Letting out a sigh, he flipped his legs over the bed and stared at his new body. The change from his older one to a younger child was startling. He stood up from his bed and looked for a dresser or something of the like.
"Clothes, gotta find some clothes."((sorry for taking so long))

The floorboards are old, not polished. It seems to be an older house. Even the wardrobe is like that. They appear sanded enough that splinters won't be a problem, but beyond that, it's... primitive. The wardrobe only houses a few outfits and has a wooden practice sword in it as well. The voice yells again
"You don't want to be late for you and Maki's ceremony, do you? I thought you've been wanting to adventure for years!"
((No problem at all XD))

"One Minute!"
Sean puts on a simple pair of pants and jerkin. The wooden sword seems kinda off, but its more than what he's got. Rubbing the fog from his eyes, he clumsily stepped down the old wooden stairs and entered what he could assume was the kitchen.
"Good Morning. Sorry for being late again."

The bigger woman crosses her arms
"Sean, Sean, Sean, when you're out there, you'll have to wake up on you're own. You can't expect your mother to do everything you know."
On the diner table, there's a plate with a slab of cooked meat, and a slice of bread.
"I'll go get you a glass of water. Are you all packed?"
((Should there be a consequence for you telling people about your previous life?))

((There generally is of some kind. Unless the entity decides they deserve it. But generally no one believes him so he doesn't bother.))
Sean quickly scarfed down his food.
Mouth full he grumbled "Yeah yeah I'm packed. But I'm not a kid anymore. You don't need to worry so much."
He accepted the water from her hands and emptied it just as fast as he cleared his plate.
"I know I just said im responsible. But where do I go again?"

She seems slightly disappointed. Just as she's about to open her mouth, your door slams open as an arm reaches in and grabs you, dragging you out.
"Are you an idiot! We're so late!"
The girl drags you quickly in a dead sprint.
"I'm not going without you, and I'm not... not going because of you!"
She takes you to a church where a small crowd of your classmates and teachers are gathered. The girl catches her breath quickly, perking up soon with a confident expression.

Sean followed the girl stumbling behind her as he tried to recollect his memories. Becoming jarred by the sudden stop. More people he should know. More that he doesn't. The fun never stops does it?
"Glad that you care so much." He chuckled to himself and decided to take a look at the young girl.

She seems excited. An older man walks towards her. Her father presumably.
"From this day forward, you are no longer stuck in this town. I know you've always dreamed of adventure. Maki, I lend you the family sword. Return it after your desires are filled."
This continues for some time before they move onto you.
"Your father passed away out there, so standing in is the one who's trained you." Your teacher steps up and bows to you.
"I'll allow you to grab any one weapon from the training area. Don't let my teachings go to fail."

Sean bows a little awkwardly in return.
"Thanks? I appreciate it Old Man. Ill try not to follow suit."
Straightening his posture, Sean not so subtly peered around for the training area. His eyes lit up when it came into view.
"Still not ready for this. To be honest." His face grew a little red and he rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
Sean scrunched his eyebrows and muttered under his breath. 'What am I saying? I have no idea what is even going on.'

Maki turns to you, shocked.
"Come on, we've been waiting forever to leave, no second thoughts now." She clenched a fist and attached the sword to her side.
After the ceremony ends, Maki walks with you, presumably to the training area. After arriving, she opens the door. It's a large open gym with practice dummies everywhere and weapons in racks along the wall.
"Hurry up and go grab a weapon before I punch you for taking too long."

He lightly smacked her arm, letting a grin spread across his face.
"So violent aren't you?"
Sean paces along the numerous weapon racks. Eyeing each blade with an unusual amount of detail. He eventually decided upon a Small, 7 inch knife which he clipped onto his belt with a satisfying 'click.'
"That's good. Should do me just fine."
He straightened his posture and marched towards the door.
"Come on slow poke!"

She crosses her arms and follows you "Really, a knife? That's so boring."
She sighs to add to her disappointment.
"I'll give you that they're easy to maintain, but if you run into a werewolf or a dragon, you stand no chance of penetrating their hide."
After saying that, she takes the lead, running ahead of you. "So you have the map right? Let's start off by going to Brimel. We should be able to find an affinity stone there."

"Well as the big strong swordsman you are, taking care of those should be a piece of cake right?"
Sean fumbled with his satchel, nearly dropping it while finding the map.
'What is with thus guy, no organization at all.'
"Ah here we go" Sean held the map full of seemingly nonsensical characters.
"Guess I'm following you then. Maps aren't really my thing."

She seems a little off-put, but not too bad. "That's weird. I thought you wanted to make them. Oh well. I guess I'll help you this time, but only this time."
She grabs the map and points at the road ahead. It should be this way then.
"Not too far away." She starts trotting ahead, obviously excited to start this adventure.

"Making maps? Really? God I'm lame. Thanks by the way"
As he ran, a voice whispered to him, barely audible to anyone else.
" Don't let them die this time... "
Sean's sighed and turned to Mika. Trying to drive it from his mind.
"So, as the totally uneducated man I am. What does an affinity stone even do? I slept through that. Ehe."

"Wow, for a nerd you do slack a lot. Affinity stone let you know what kind of magic you use. You won't be able to figure out any of your null spells until later though."
She keeps walking down the path. "I hope I get void magic, then I could summon a fluffy dog!"
She holds up her fingers "There are 8 primary magic types, fire, water, sky, ground, light, void, nature, and null."

"Right right. And that's all there is to it? I hope I don't get some b.s. new type like that one hero from the 'lost fables' !"
Sean said this quite loudly announcing it to the world in almost an accusatory manner.
"Now that that's taken care of, so void magic makes you somewhat of a summoner then? What about null? Just, normal spells I guess?"
Sean pulled out a small book and started taking notes, looking up every few words to look for tripping items.

"Yeah, null spells are kinda weird. They're unique to each person. It's really rare for one person to possess someone else's null spells. Well..." She looks sideways at you "Your dad was an exception, right? He was one of the few null users."
She yawns and keeps walking. The trail starts to turn less into a road, and more like a long strip where there just isn't grass.
"Did you miss anything else in class?"

"Not that i can think of. Mostly because I slept through it all!"
He laughed loudly at his own joke, but quieted down just as fast. Diving back into thought. Listening to the rythmic crunching on the pebbles from his boots. He pulled up his sleeve, and then lifted his shirt a little. Each time muttering to himself, perhaps disappointed, maybe something else. Not very clear in his actions. He held himself straight up, each movement almost robotic. Similar to the way soldiers walked in the capital.

Maki is the opposite in how she walks. Energetic, yet still with dreadful posture. After a solid hour of walking, the next town is in sight. "There she is. The beautiful town of Brimel."
She picks up her pace to a jog, excited to finally get there. Immediately when you two reach the gates, you're stopped for a toll. 3 silver, that's pretty high for entering a city.
Maki looks annoyed by this as she starts going through her bag for her coin pouch.

Sean pulls up his own three silver and hands it to the guards. More than a bit peeved. It was just money, but regardless he was certain a good portion would be going into the guards own pockets. He stepped into the vibrant city and returned his purse to his bag.
"Hurry up slow face! You tell me not to take forever and here you are now." he teased at her subtly eyeing the waist of the guards for anything valuable. Though nothing really peaked his interest.

Maki reluctantly got out the money and handed it to the guards before entering the city. "That's annoying." She stomped into the city angry, but after a few steps lit up again. "It's so much bigger than Arlose!" The city was pretty big in the eyes of someone who lived in a town with only 60 people. Still, this town only had a maximum of 400.
Maki looked around frantically before grabbing your wrist and running in the direction of a large pool with a path leading to a huge boulder that sat in the pool.

"Its not that big. But yeah its pretty big." Sean followed her towards the rock, still silently wondering to himself about his element.
Sean glanced around the town square as they passed, eyeing merchants and the like. The smiths shop, filled with decent armour but surely at a high price. The travelers depot, a collection of small items that would be helpful such as small health potions or antidotes. The last shop he saw before they both got much closer to the pool was a small man with an oversized backpack. Yelling out about his wide selection of goods from across the nation. Sean chuckled at this man, his oversized bag making him look something like a snail. Pulling his hand out of Mika's grasp he tried to keep up himself. Looking up in awe at the monolith in front of them.
"Any ideas what element you could be?" He asked, eyes not straying from their fancy.

She looks a little scared now that she's up close. "I dunno. We won't know until we try though. There are some I'm hoping for, but I can deal with anything. Fingers crossed I get a reaction."
She turns to you, looking at your eyes. "You don't know about the actions, right? Slept through that class as well?"
She just assumes your laziness and goes on with her speech, facing the boulder.
"If you put both your hands on the affinity stone for a few minutes, something will happen to the water below that corresponds to your affinity."
She goes on to hold up fingers corresponding to the number of magic types there are. "If it starts boiling, it's fire, if the water makes waves its water, if bubbles come up its sky, if the amount of water shrinks down into the ground its ground, the color gets dark for void and whiter for light, if nothing happens, taste it, if it tastes different then water, you got nature."
She looks a little distraught announcing the next one. "If there's nothing, you aren't gonna be able to learn any of those magic types. You're either nothing or a null wizard. No way of knowing until you cast a null spell."
