New to the site, not to the writing!

Hey all,


I've gone by the name Davion for a long time, first roleplayed when I was 13 and very active at it. Been 11 years and I still try to keep up with it a fair amount, though my tastes have evolved over the years.


I work in a form of biological research, taking graduate classes towards a masters. That all tends to keep me busy (in addition to the video games, there's alllllllllways video games..) I left my last site because the community started feeling stagnant; it was hard to keep feeling connected to the often nonsensical chaos.


My interests usually lean towards high fantasy, medieval, science fiction, or anything of the sort. Things like romance I usually find are better as a flavoring, not the main goal. Well, unless I rather like you.


D&D and tabletops are great, I've run and participated in about ~10 campaigns, though none last as long as I'd hope. Always interested in those.


Anyway, don't desire to rant. Any questions? Hit me up, I'm pretty open about all things. Wouldn't object to knowing some people on here.

Hello and welcome, Davion. I'm glad you found us and hope you'll make yourself at home. I doubt you'll feel stagnant here - we have a huge member base and we're always humming with RPs. I share many of your likes (high fantasy, medieval, scifi, etc) and I've found lots of places to join here. I'm sure you will, too.


A couple of tips I usually share with newcomers: Start by checking out the rules if you haven't already. Then I recommend checking out the list of active Role Plays as well as the Role Play Recruitment and Role Play Ideas areas. Those are the best places to find a group RP to join or find a writing partner. All of those are available from the main ("forums") view of the site.


If you have any other questions as you're getting oriented to the site, feel free to PM me or contact one of our amazing moderators or admins. You may also want to pop by the shout box (also available from the main or "forums" view) for real-time chat with members. We're all friendly.

Thanks a bunch, Erica! Props for the Nathan Fillion signature. The site seems pretty user friendly and easy to navigate so far, so I'm not too worried about orientation. I'll be spending a bit of time getting my profile and resume in shape while lurking the waters.
