WHOLE WORLD BLIND
It was true that he wasn't exactly tall, while he didn't show it much on the outside, his height was something of a slight insecurity of his own. Yet even then, he had never expected to be used quite literally as a stepping stone, more than the weight or the push, the boy was caught off guard by the sudden cold of Yukito's snowy cushions, he let out a little yelp as his fellow phoenix gained more elevation.
As pluto gave a quick word of warning, Charlie prepared to catch the heavy metal grate. The square lump of ice-covered metal ended up safely landing atop his hands. Or so he thought, as the ice started to slightly melt upon being in contact with his warm fingers. The grate slipped, time froze completely in the boys mind, his eyes widening in panic as he saw the object fall. He had to do something, there was too much at stake. The loud crashing sound could alert the tigers, making the operation more difficult.
But even worse, he might end up making himself look like a clumsy buffoon in front of Phoenix royalty...AGAIN.
He threw his arms forward, his left palm intercepting the grate, only to use a bit too much force, bouncing the object out of his reach. He lunged again, this time his right, but same result. He continued this unintentionally comical juggling a few more times, until he ultimately grabbed it for good, his grip on it so tight and secure that it was indenting the iron. A sigh of relief came out of him, safely laying the grate against the nearby wall. He turned back, facing Hector, trying his best to appear unbothered by what just happened.
"Well, off he goes it seems, we're taking the stairs, correct?"
