Idea New Fantasy/Post Apocalyptic/Sci Fi sort of rp world idea

I had an idea for a world with similarities and inspiration from Horizon Zero Dawn, Ark Survival Evolved, Power Rangers RPM (the post-apocalyptic vibes), and more. It's a world with sentient prehistoric machines that are corrupted and violent and have taken over the majority of the planet. It would have a major survival aspect with the vibes of a zombie apocalypse, such as limited access to resources like food and protection. This is all I got for it rn but its something I really would love to develop in time.

That sounds amazing. I don't own any new game systems (beyond original Xbox and PS2), but I've seen walkthroughs of Horizon, and it looked pretty interesting. The future sounds like a better time if the machines are supposed to be ancient. That's just my take!

It does sound like a better idea! My take if it was to be in the future would be that after failing to clone and produce the extinct creatures of the prehistoric era they'd take on another path to mechanically creating them instead as it was easier. They were originally meant to inhibit the exact behaviour of the dinosaurs they were made out of and similarly to Jurassic World they were to be enclosed and shown within parks for both educational and viewing purposes. But, as did jurassic world, they would fall and they would escape when their technology would become sentient.

I voted for the 16th century. Mostly because I'm a sucker for that historical time period but I also think it'd be kind of fun to see the clash between a historical setting like that and advanced technology like giant robots.
