Hi there,


I'm new, to RpNation anyway, but not to roleplaying. I've been roleplaying since I was 15 and I'd rather not say just how very long ago that was . . . Anyway, enough about that. I've joined this lovely site with the hopes of relocating/restarting a game I had on another site in the hopes of getting some wonderful new players. Fresh blood is always so reviving in these sorts of matters.

As it happens, I have several questions. the first being key to how I want to make this game. I noticed several Rps have four "taps" for "in game," "ooc," etc. Can I make another "in game" tab or is it set to only have the four? My idea is to have two teams and I would rather give them separate places to post.


 
Another question, anyone have any data on the sucess rate of games here? The average life expectancy for games on my previous site was roughly a year. Both of mine lived for several years, but had only a few of the original players still present. How long do games tend to last here?

Yes, you can request an additional in character tab.


I don't know if there's a maximum number that you can have, but I've seen people with three tabs before.


That also really depends.


I'm assuming since you're saying games, you're referring to dice role plays, in which case I have no idea.


As for descriptive role plays, a lot of people here seem to have commitment issues, to put it bluntly.


Some people won't stick around for more than a week, but there are also a few role plays I know are still running from months ago.


I have yet to find any role plays that have been running for a year, but maybe I'm just looking in the wrong spots.
 
I am tragically used to players with commitment issues. Generally I set up a rule in my games that states if you aren't active for a set time I take over and kill the character. I find this keeps things real, rolling and a spot more thrilling. Is that cool here?
 
Yeah, I've done things like that.


granted the plots i work with usually don't get to the point where i can freely kill people off


BUT I think that's a good strategy.

Excellent. I am finishing up the game's back story. Should be up by the end of the week or, at latest, beginning of the next.

I would maybe look into it, but I have so many role plays going on right now, I shouldn't tempt myself with another. orz
 
Alas, it's a very . . . particular sort of game. I am expecting to be looking for players for at least two weeks before it starts moving.


Should you swing by later on, please let me know if there is anything you think I can do to improve it.
