I would presume it's a given.

[QUOTE="Commissar Darman]my god that char sheet took way longer than it should....im blaming the navy.

Good stuff.

I cleaned up a few sections for you, so everything is in order and good to go. You can post whenever you have time to do so.

thanks, now we wait for the other brother, but he should be done with his soon.... if he ever gets off work.

@Kyero Just as a reference .... Are you picking our squadron assignments or are we coming up with something ourselves?

If you would like to be in a Squadron with other players, let those players know.

Otherwise you are free to choose your own squadron. We will all end up together in one squadron eventually, but for now you have free reign of the RP.

When it's time to congregate, I'll let you all know.

Sure, Me Darman and lict are going carrier based, But im sure they'll be glad to have you too.

your welcome to come along.( we all hang out on a teamspeak sever. If you want to come chill with us.)

@HammerTroll That might be an option. My character would flip though as he's never practiced on a carrier given how far inland his base is. Plus I don't think the f-16 is carrier based. So we'll see. ):

Anyone got any cool squadron names picked out? I put some together that I think are pretty awesome.

the only difference between carrier based and land based aircraft is landing gear and arrester hook. IF we ask the GM maby he could have the ground crew modifiy your F-16. also IDK about the Ace Combat world but with the US Navy new pilots practice touch and go sorties on acutall full airfields with a section of it set up with chatch cabels and painted outline of the flight deck. if you want IC hammer could show AJ how to do it?

Also havent came up with a squadron name yet but i was gonna run this by dar and lict and if you join us your say too. but here it is. VFA-109th Fighter wing "Paladins" stationed abord the OFS Condor.

@HammerTroll I was under the impression the F-16C is too flimsy to withstand carrier launches and landings outside of just having problems with the gear. I mean, I might could have him be ordered by the brass to change aircraft to an F-4E though to fill in (or be one of your co-pilots to start out with). I'll see how it goes though and how the others feel about it before making my decision. I really like the name though and it might be interesting to have him confronted with his first issue right off the bat. xD

The F-16N is the Navy Variant of the F-16, but I'm not too sure if it's carrier capable or not.

Also I am still in this, just been really busy the past few days.

The U.S. Navy acquired 22 modified Block 30 F-16Cs for use as adversary assets for dissimilar air combat training (DACT); four of these were TF-16N two-seaters. These aircraft were delivered in 1987–1988. Fighter Squadron 126 (VF-126) and the Navy Fighter Weapons School (NFWS) (or TOPGUN) operated them at NAS Miramar, California on the West Coast; East Coast adversary training squadrons were Fighter Squadron 43 (VF-43) at NAS Oceana, Virginia and Fighter Squadron 45 (VF-45) at NAS Key West, Florida. Each squadron had five F-16N and one TF-16N, with the exception of TOPGUN which had six and one, respectively. Due to the high stress of constant combat training, the wings of these aircraft began to crack and the Navy announced their retirement in 1994. By 1995, all but one of these aircraft had been sent to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) for preservation and storage; one F-16N was sent to the National Museum of Naval Aviation at NAS Pensacola, Florida as a museum article. As adversary aircraft, the Navy's F-16Ns were notable for their colorful appearance. Most Navy F-16N aircraft were painted in a three-tone blue-gray "ghost" scheme. TOPGUN had some of the more colorful ones: a three-color desert scheme, a light blue one and a green splinter camouflage version with Marine Corps markings. VF-126 also had a unique blue example.

In 2002, the Navy began to receive 14 F-16A and B models from the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) that were originally intended for Pakistan before being embargoed. These aircraft (which are not designated F-16N/TF-16N) are operated by the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC) / (TOPGUN) for adversary training and like their F-16N predecessors are painted in exotic schemes.

TF-16N=two seater/F-16N one seater

the flimsiness wasn't the issue it was the roll they played in the naval aviation traing regime. so considering a set combat schedule and proper maintenance it would be feasible to have a F-16N variant in strangeral, but that should be left to the GM to decide. but if we can i might change planes

I checked. The navy has f-16s but none of them are carrier capable. The only attempt to try to make a carrier variant was rejected because apparently it couldnt be launched either and it didn't have two engines. xD

@Shyla Nesthorn

But I was planning to eventually upgrade to an F-18 eventually so I can have him join in with an F-4E if I'm allowed to. I'll see what people say though so I can get an idea of where people are going.

@HammerTroll The f-16N is an option, but the problem still remains is that it isn't carrier based. I dunno. I'd have to either do a complete flight change to the F-4E and training in order to adapt to the circumstances as he was trained as an airforce pilot instead of a naval one. I don't think that would work out so well unless he came on as a co-pilot or something, and I'd prefer to be with my own plane. So I think I'm going to decline for now after thinking about it some. Maybe we can do something in the future when he retrains into the f-18? Sorry, man.

10-4 buddy. in the RP im goning to try to get everyone out to the bar graduation night maby we can do some Friendship building IC

@HammerTroll

Indeed. I'll put together a squadron in the meantime I guess to have something to post and people can join it if they want to. I mean, we're all going to end up together down the line anyways so.

7th Air Division, 175th Tactical Fighter Squadron - Talon

I don't have a pretty design like the Paladins though. :P

And I'm looking forward to that bar scene if we don't end up fighting.

Well, you get a choice of at least 2 (Talon (AF)/ Paladins(Naval)) thus far unless you want to make your own.

@too much idea

I am open to variants and IC upgrades/redesigns, but your character will have to have the funds to support it.

The currency system in this RP is fairly straightforward. Every time you sortie, you get a fixed pay based on how dangerous the mission is perceived to be by Command.

You can bolster your funds received by the following methods:

(The following must all be confirmed either by visual confirmation from at least two allied units, or a video confirmation as some ground and aerial units will have cameras built into their vehicles to record the battle transmitting the feed back to Command)

* Damage enemy forces (meaning they are damaged but not destroyed) (+.5% for each damaged unit)

* Shoot down enemy planes (+2% for each downed enemy)

* Destroy enemy ships (+3% for each destroyed plane)

* Destroy enemy ground forces (+1.5% for each destroyed unit/group)

* Effectively and efficiently providing ECM for your allies against the enemy (+.5% for every five minutes of confirmed and effectively utilized support)

Doing any/all of these will bolster your pay by the specified amount relative to the base pay. So that percentage is multiplied by the base pay and then added to the base pay as a total.

Say your base pay is $5,800. You damage 2 planes ($58), 1 enemy ground convoy ($29), shoot down one plane (+$116), and destroy two ships ($348)... The total pay would become $6,351.

Make sense?

That's how our currency will function in this RP. I will specify base pay IC in big bold text at the top of each Battle Introduction Posting.

You guys are free to determine a base finance for your characters, but the amount given cannot exceed $50,000 in savings. Planes in this game will cost us significantly less than they do in real life because what our characters will be paying for is not the plane, but the right to fly it. Very expensive, but that's how it will work in the RP since Strangereal never explains why the planes are so cheap.

For example, the right to fly an F-22 Raptor in the RP might only cost your character a total of $1,200,000 (this price is subject to change). In real life, those planes are $412 million as of 2012 to manufacture per plane.

I will update the plane list to include the price to fly in the coming days. I need to do some research on the Ace Combat pricing and update them to fit the RP's purposes.

Probably will go with Talon

Also i'm free this weekend so i'll try to make a pretty emblem for Talons

Talon, strike fast @Whisker

Something like this yea, probably going to fix the thunder
