This rp is set in a world of magic powers and super science, constant alien invasion and arcane mysteries. So of course this world has super heroes and super villians. In fact the world has way to many... For every legit hero like SlipSpeed or Topflight you have twenty D list wannabes getting in the way of everyday life trying to get noticed. That's without mentioning how many criminals could qualify as a super villain, the amount of accidents that happen in labs across the planet have resulted in plenty of animal themed mental cases and super powered freaks. It's not often the man who gets splashed with chemical X and gets transformed into living rock and magma continues going into work the next day.
Anyway...
Successful heroes are recognised and paid by the government, but being a successful hero is somewhat subjective in the eyes of the public. You could catch and beat fifty muggers, dragging all of them to the police station on the same night...
But that means nothing when five teenagers in matching costumes defeat some alien invasion with karate and laser guns the next day.
The hero game is a brutal one, but it attracts many players wanting money, fame or to fulfill a need to help people.
Should you choose to play you would be making a successful hero who is apart of a team.
Like other superheros your character realised regardless of the amount of people they help or thwart...
Its gonna be much easier saving the day and getting paid for it if their apart of a team, preferably one with a catchy name.
You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. For example take MightyMan, SlipSpeed, and Waranna.
Individually they have fought off at least five monster armies between themselves. But when they joined forces to fight the Tricertopians, the media dubbed them as the Big 3 and BANG suddenly Nike is paying Slip to be in ads, Waranna is getting her own merch and MightyMan is the official face of Nolicoke. Hollywood's made movies about them and they still live like kings even with the eventual oversaturation of hero teams taking the shine off the whole thing.
None got on the level of the big 3, but your team was damn close.
(Team name goes here) were on top of the hero world for a good eight months, you all lived the highs and lows that come from beating up criminals and killing monsters whilst getting paid stupid amounts of money for trivial shit unrelated to doing the right thing.
That is until the Neon Ninjas arrived. Seven ninja dressed in bright glowing colours, each with different powers and visually impressive fighting styles...
They have taken over the globe seemingly overnight. Neon Ninjas became the most popular heros in recent memory, the last decade even. You and the team are discarded like old fruit, despite being named the best newcomer team of 2023
(team name goes here) swiftly lose all that stupid money and recognition that was built up. Now you need to work twice as hard for maybe a quarter of what you was getting before.
Also, we have reason to believe these ninja are involved in criminal activity... "They have to be right? If not let's frame them"
===================
As said above if you want to play you'd make a character whose a hero on a team. This rp is about said team working as heroes trying to validate themselves once again. Those Neon Ninjas arrived to quickly and shot to fame in such a way that if they aren't criminals of some form it would be enough reason to retire or become their sidekicks.
But you'd need to uncover the truth yourselves in game, Like all my shit post requirements is two paragraphs or more twice a week.
Ask questions or show enthusiasm below, sorry for no pictures.
