Welcome everyone to Dragon's Revenge, an RP created for the purpose of immersing ourselves in a new fantasy based world where the Dragons have had their ability to take to Dragon form stolen from them by powerful and wicked magic. The entire Dragon race is now trapped in human forms, forced now to walk the land without ever tasting the freedom of the skies unless they can recover their stolen birthright. But who or what has stolen it, how did it happen, and why?
This RP currently has room for one more Dragon character. This open Dragon spot is not first come first served, and one person has submitted a profile already but I'm waiting to see if anyone else interested comes along to also make a spot and try for the role.
So if you want to portray a Dragon, which is an immensely overpowered role in the RP, then this is your chance but you have to move fast. Come January 3, 2015, the role will go to whomever has the best profile and if that means that only this one individual has opted for it then they receive it by default.
If you try to turn in an application after January 3 for the Dragon character and I've already named the winning applicant in the OOC, your submission will not be counted and turned away and you'll have to remake the character as human by removing all of the Dragon parts from it and making some changes to the bio to suit the new human origin.
Otherwise you're free to portray a human character if portraying a Dragon doesn't appeal to you in the first place.
Now I know what a lot of people might be thinking: What's so great about being a Dragon if you can't even use your Dragon form? Let me answer that with the following points:
Even in human form, Dragons are much more powerful than mere mortals could ever be. In human form they can lift over 4,000 pounds in weight (2 tons), run a mile in about a minute and a half, easily wall jump between buildings over fifty feet apart, leap massive gaps in excess of 100 feet from a standstill, and have heightened senses which let them see in the dark, detect and single out a single scent among hundreds for up to a mile, hear even the faintest whisper from over on hundred yards away, taste the very air to know when the weather is changing or when something dangerous is on the prowl, and feel the vibrations beneath their feet to know exactly where an opponent is within up to about one hundred feet.
Overpowered? A little, but that's why there are only two available Dragon positions in the RP. Even in human form the Dragons are beyond mortal capacity or understanding, and in order to make sure that everyone in the RP feels important and like they're part of the actions as opposed to just being there to make the Dragons look good, I have chosen to moderate how many people can portray a Dragon. So hopefully you'll bear with me on that one.
Anyway!
Here are the RP's primary points of attraction for your viewing pleasure:
* 90 species of Dragons exist in this RP's world which you can view here in the RP's Lore page. All of them will make an appearance throughout the RP at some point or another, sometimes as friends, other times as enemies.
* A rich timeline stretching back 500,000 years to the dawn of humanity, also viewable on the above Lore page.
* A system of Magic designed by yours truly which resembles but does not directly copy from previously established lore in any video games or television shows/movies, viewable here on the Mechanics page.
* Realistic aspects of human life including currency, the days/months of the year, what life is like at home or out in the world as a wandering warrior, all viewable in the Mechanics page.
* An armor and weapon crafting system designed based off of the Elder Scrolls mechanics where existing pieces or sets of armor pr weapons can be enchanted with magic to be made stronger and more dangerous. Again, viewable at the Mechanics page.
* Numerous forms of religion, the names of the Gods/Goddesses also borrowed from Elder Scrolls lore though some of their functions and religious context is altered for the sake of the RP. Viewable at the Mechanics page.
* 12 Nations, all of whom are politically and socially different from one another with their own cultures, sub-cultures, and social/political norms. Details are found in the Settings/Locations page. Further details are also viewable in the Mechanics page.
* A list of Cults, some of which we will be facing off against throughout the course of the RP, viewable in the Mechanics page.
* Details on what life is like as a Dragon, viewable in the Mechanics page at the bottom.
