Fantasy Necromancer's Moon

Ambush
Sedrel fell back on the ground from the pure shock of what he had just found, his heart thumping hard in his chest, ready to burst and break out of its fleshy cage. He sat back on his knees, getting closer. “Emile….Bradyn..no” was all he could mutter as he put his hands to his face in shock. He had worked with bodies, bones and other manner of things that could be considered unsavory or gross, after all he was a Necromancer’s student, but finding the young students...like this here, it was awful. He forced down his gag reaction and attempted to investigate the bodies, turning them around.

The least he could do now was at least figure out what happened. Looking over their cold, lifeless figures, it didn’t take long to come to a conclusion. Deep cuts could be seen all across their torsos and parts of their heads. Upon closer examination, it became evident that holy energy was still emanating from these wounds...they were smited.

Sedrel’s stomach filled with dread. Only one order utilized holy magic to smite, and that was paladins...but what were they doing here? Paladins were an order dedicated to destroying the evil in the world. Magic users have worked along their side for years. Even necromancy, though frowned upon by their ranks, was still safe from their wrath.

His thoughts were, without warning, interrupted. From behind one of the nearby tombs, there was a distinct rustling noise, followed by a fanatical shout.

“By the will of the gods, the heretics will be slain! Death to the magic users!”

The distinct sounds of metal being drawn out quickly filled the room, and before Sedrel knew it he was surrounded by three sword-wielding men. They had on fine chainmail that glistened in the torchlight, adorned with golden amulets and trinkets. These were paladins, there could be no mistake about it.

“You’re not Shayla the Whisper!” One of them shouted out in frustration. “It’s just another damn apprentice!”

“Where’s your forsaken master, boy?” Another questioned loudly.

[ ] Fight.
[ ] Attempt to run.
[ ] Tell them where Master Shayla is.
[ ] Lie about where Master Shayla is.

[x] Lie about where Master Shayla is.

If we fight, I honestly think we're going to get our head smashed in. Better to just give the master and then escape later.

[x] Lie about where Master Shayla is.

Really should've seen this coming, but things like this make it interesting

[X] Tell them where Master Shayla is.

They might make us take them to her, so unless we have a good plan, I don't think lying is going to work so well. Better hope that the master is equipped to deal with the three paladins once we get there.
