['Neath Shattered Skies and Scattered Stars] Sundering Stars

Upon seeing the attempted abduction, O-Ren leaps into action. Not normally one to get involved, when a child is in the mix, things change. She jumps up from her seat and moves to block the path of the offending man.

Lance has been thoroughly engrossed with tickling Solistrae to the point where he only notices the jumping man two seconds before he leaps onto the table. His little daughter is on his lap, but he transfers her swiftly to his free hand before putting his other between the interloper and Fortune.

The Dragon-Blooded woman yelps in surprise, as she is woken from thoughts of a family of her own.

That's what I get for playing Red Faction 2 all night!

All right, Lance's Perception and JB rolls: 7 and 4 successes.

Fortune's Perception and JB rolls: 2 and 1 successes

She will throw up With One Mind for her and Lance as her first action and then wonder what the hell is going on.

Those watching her can see quite a difference as the kidnapper takes off with little Cy'Diran! Her eyes narrow, her naturally warm appearance cools severely, she turns swiftly and of course takes chase. No one kidnaps her children, no one! Well okay maybe they can, but they most certainly are going to regret it. Perhaps it was time to split herself up to provide for babysitting or daycare... Either way she had to save her son, and of course punish the human severely.

Lana turns at the tables, setting the loud racket and sees the source of the problem. If only she could help by shooting her bow. But sadly, too many people are in the way, and turning into a polar bear cub is just pointless.

"What are you waiting for, Lana? New prey is beside you and you turn away?" Her mind yelling at her, making her eye twitch. She looks again and unsheathes her bow, nocking an arrow, and concentrates hard at the alleged kidnappers head and shoots. ((This is a four D ten right? Or a three D ten?))

The kidnapper shoves his way to the door, narrowly dodging Lana's arrow and diving out into the street. His rags seem to distort his passage, throwing up strange yellow distortions into the air with every movement. With his free hand he makes a strange gesture, and a fine, damp mist begins to pour from his mouth. A slimy, disturbingly vacant voice escapes alongside the fog, molesting the ears of all who hear it.

"The Crimson King sends his regards, Shards-That-Were."

WHITE BREATH IN THE COLD - 20 yards of poor visibility, covering half of the bar floor and spilling into the street.

Combat order:

Kidnapper

Sherwood

Silent Wayfarer

Kiwi

SephirothSage

Myllinnia

Fortune (Silent Wayfarer)

O-Ren raises up an eyebrow at the sudden mist. Ah! An Essence user! But still, he is abducting the child. Must stop him before he gets away. With that thought committing her to action, she suddenly extends her finger out towards him, and from her hand a nearly invisible string comes shooting out, aiming for the kidnapper's legs.

Spending 6m of Personal Essence on Rain of Unseen Threads to perform a grapple on his legs and bring him crashing down into a heap. It uses my full Dex + Martial Arts pool for the grab.

"Who's this Crimson King fellow?" Lance asks, before he notices O-Ren point at the kidnapper. His eyes pick up a faint line of condensation in the air where the mist clings to the invisible strand O-Ren is projecting. At least she's helping, he thinks.

"Hey - don't hurt the kid!" he says to O-Ren as he calls Tiger's Claw to his hand and channels Essence into his eyes and legs, so he can see and move better. That done, he leaps forward and past the kidnapper, seeking to cut off one direction of retreat so the others can hem him in.

Meanwhile, Solistrae has slithered up to her father's neck and is grinning happily as she goes on the wild ride.

Activating Monkey Leap Technique (3m), Panoptic Fusion Discipline (3m) and using Call The Blade (1m) as reflexive actions, then jumping after the kidnapper to cut him off. Using Personal Essence for both.

Lana growled as the fog shrouded the entire tavern. She noticed the others trying to stop this fiend, and she decides to jump by their side and help. She runs to the serpent dancer's right side and nocks an arrow swiftly in her bow, and aims, channeling her essence in the shot, focusing her shot on only one target.

(Activating wind wing carry techniques, which is strength and archery,)

As the Kidnapper steps out the door he stumbles beneath the innumerable unseen threads that ensnare his limbs, falling to a knee. His fall is all that saves him from being impaled by Lana's arrow, the shaft instead lancing through his free arm. His hostage squirms in the grip of his undamaged limb, but the steady flow of sallow ichor that flows from his palm seems to have no effect on the efficiency of his grasp. If anything, the fulvous liquid seems to be numbing the little Lamia like chloroform.

Lance's leap places him at the doorway, a few steps behind the gaunt criminal. It turns towards the Solar, hollow eyes boring holes into Lance's soul.

"Yes, yes, follow. Do you hear the voices too?"

As the Kidnapper runs, and Lance leaps- Laertes darts forwards- and from his form, a ... scroll? Unwravels- he gestures with his arm, as if throwing a punch- and it rips forwards with a sickening sound. It is a skin-tone scroll covered in arcane seeming runes of every color that arcs forwards- aiming for the figures chest, away from the Lamia child, as it hardens it's edge and is shaped as if in to some drill, seeking to shred the mans flesh.

Lance is vaguely disturbed by Laertes' body extension thing, but decides not to bring it up - now wasn't the time, after all.

"Yes, yes, follow. Do you hear the voices too?"
"The hells are you talking about?" he asks, moving to free the lamia-ling from her kidnapper's grasp. "Let the kid go and maybe I'll listen."

Meanwhile, Fortune is coated in playful lamia kids as she ponders whether or not she should be plunging into the opaque fog, especially since Lana is already firing into it and Laertes and Syrenica and the others are already moving up. She decides instead to give Syrenica a thumbs up and show her the other kids are safe before staying well out of the line of fire.

O-Ren moves closer to the downed man but keeps her senses alert for other sources of trouble.

Syrenica notes with a smile as those who helped to catch the criminal that took her child, she would have to find a way to repay those people she did not know. Syrenica gives Lance a warm smile and gives Good Fortune a thankful look, and then turns her unhappy attentions on the man. While Laertes strikes Syrenica races to Lances' side and attempts to slam her tail against the kidnapper's side. "Yes, let my child go and we shall listen to your explanation."

Unseen by those who do not know how to see them Syrenica sends a mental signal to Xai'Tairi who was likely lazing about in the room drinking to her demonic heart's content, to ambush the man should he get to far from the front of the tavern. Syrenica resists a smirk as Xai'Tairi responds sleepily and silently.

Lana smiled in satisfaction at the worth the Exalts have done, and saw that the child was safe. She was sad that she could not kill the man who took the child, but it was for questioning. Her stomach growled again, but she ignored it, looking down at the injured perpetrator, and toying with her rabbit charm
