Not much has occurred yet. The main group was in a jail cell, but they've just broken out of the cell. It's controlled by the Cultists, and you'd have to read everything in the Settings/Locations tab as well as the Neutral Characters tab.

Could i maybe make a barbarian for hire? Like, somebody who took a contract to get them out, but just takes out the people at the front and comes up to the heros and is like "I've got a job to do. There's a group of people whose fate is intwined in the land, and you punks are in the way" I think since i missed the beginning action that would be a good intro.

In all technicality you could still take part in the beginning, and that doesn't fit with the story plot set up.
