Everything written above remains true, but there's a little more political and military unrest than in the story above. I won't have it written in the CS thread when it goes up, but it'll be out soon hopefully. I work the next four days straight, so unlucky me.

Also, I've linked the character and lore threads together for ease of travel. Please don't post in the lore thread, as it will only contain moments from the roleplay that are of importance to the lore. However, I highly recommend watching that thread so you get a notification when I add something to it! As the roleplay goes along, I'll be posting there as a recap of what's happened so far and everything the characters have uncovered.

If you have any questions regarding the new lore, especially as it pertains to your characters, feel free to ask here or PM me. Once we've got some characters created and we're ready to start, I'll make an OOC thread.

Declaring a release just means that’s the type of jutsu your character can harness their chakra into. Beyond that, your character would have to learn the individual jutsu within that release.

Two characters that both have Water release could theoretically not have any jutsu in common.

Working on my character now! I'm making him the sole survivor of a lesser Uchiha clan slaughtered during the war. He focuses mostly on Lightning Release, to the point that he's considered a rare genius in it, but he knows a few Fire Release Jutsu. Not many, just a few. He relies mostly on speed and cunning rather than raw power, and prefers to utilize a Kusanagi sword as well. I'm trying to make him formidable, to show why he would be a Jounin, but not so unbelievably overpowered that everything is a joke to him.

Also, are these stats okay? I'm honestly paranoid about making him overpowered, hehe.

Sounds pretty similar to my character. He was part of a smaller clan, but he was the only one not killed by the Uchiha. He was only spared because he was protected by another clan, a Hyuuga descendant, who was backed by the Hyuuga. He also employs lightning release, but he has water release and uses a modified form of the Hyuuga clan’s gentle fist technique.

...i love how three different characters, so far are using lighting release for their main one.

Also Shadowborn Omen are these stats OK for Chunin or should I reduce some of them?:

I honestly think there's nothing more awesome than Chidori in terms of Jutsu. I just absolutely adore it.

Personally I like the idea of having some control of motherfucking lightning

I used to prefer the Rasengan, but then I realized that a Chidori/Lightning Blade is way deadlier. A Rasengan might hurt you badly, but it probably won't kill you. A good hit from a Chidori will absolutely kill you, unless you're some kind of God of not dying.

Personally I've always liked the idea of using Lightning jutsus for surveillance and trickery. Like making almost invisible strands of electricity around an area and when people touch them the user can tell someone is coming or turning into a bolt of lightning and only able to change direction by bouncing off something
