'Chiaki-dono..., thank you. I understand why he did it. I may be strong but I'm fighting someone who outclasses me in everything. It is only logical that we work as a team.' Shinra turned to glance at Chiaki and gave him a brief nod (@QuirkyAngel ) and mouthed a thank you. Shinra grinned at Kenji who was pulling the last of the senbon from his legs while wincing in pain. He switched quickly to another taijutsu style in order to prevent Kenji from learning his movements. His parents' signature taijutsu was the White Tiger Fist. Pure strength, speed, and endurance. Shinra knew he could take whatever Kenji dished out if he stayed at his current level.

Shinra dipped out of sight before landing a chakra infused fist into Kenji's side. Shinra jumped back and shook his arm out as the Kenji he had punched was a lightning clone that exploded after the impact. Shinra had actually managed land a hit before the switch, which was evident in Kenji's pained look as he clenched his side, attempting to reinforce his injured side. "Enough, let me show you how outclassed you are boya!" shouted Kenji as a thick mist engulfed the field. Shinra kept calm as the chakra latent mist enveloped him. He heard the detached voice laugh at him before the former hunter ninja appeared with his wakizashi drawn. Shinra wrapped the blade in his chain and pulled in an attempt to jerk the blade from the man's grip but only succeeded in pulling the man to him. His eyes rolled back and his berserker bloodline deactivated as the wakizashi pierced his side. He fell to his knees and heard the concerned voices of his teammates as darkness overcame him.

Itsuki was still frustrated, but if there was to be serious training regardless of his protestations, he may as well be a part of it. Doing things non-lethally would require some creativity, but Itsuki figured he had that covered. He could not see what was happening in the mist, but he could sense both Suzuki and Shinra. He watched from the corner of his eye as Chiaki prepared to attempt to incapacitate Suzuki, and he had just opened one of his scrolls in preparation to begin his offensive, when he felt Shinra's chakra flare, then plummet to the ground. Oddly, all he could think was 'I told you so', but by that point he was already sprinting into the mist to extricate his idiot comrade.

Itsuki pounded forwards, dropping half a dozen flash tags to cover his way, and grabbed the limp body of Shinra with one hand while making hand seals with another. The hand seals completed, Itsuki propelled himself and the gripped Shira away and out of the mist with a powerful gust of wind, with the secondary hope of dispersing some of the mist. Landing on the other side of the clearing, Itsuki began treating Shinra's wound while watching what he could of the fight. He needed to get back in there and stop this farce before someone else was given a life-threatening wound. Shinra would not be at his full potential for weeks with this tear in his side. Itsuki would be talking to the council about Suzuki, that much he knew.

Junko sighed as Chiaki engaged Kenji.

"Chiaki-kun," she called to him, "That's not exactly what I had in min-"

Junko broke off as she saw Kenji stab Shinra, and the boy crumpled. Junko swore under her breath as Itsuki retrieved the fallen Shinobi in a blur.

"You fool, Shinra-kun."

Then Junko realised that the boys injury left Chiaki to handle the Sensei alone. Drawing her tanto from its sheath, she stepped forwards.

"I've got you back, Chiaki-kun." She murmured, before directing her voice at Kenji.

"Suzuki-sensei," She said, trying to keep her voice calm and level, her body tensed in case the older Shinobi made an abrupt attack. "Why don't we abandon this fight for now."

Junko held out a placatory hand, as she did so manoeuvring her body so that she stood between Kenji and Chiaki. If the Sensei made a move, she wanted to ensure that she could intercept.

"I don't think awe need anyone else hurt so close to the end of training."

Had any other ninja than Kenji been the one to injure one of her comrades, Junko would have been on top of them in a heart beat, even for the sake of foolish Shinra. However in the case of Suzuki-Sensei, she knew exactly what the ex Hunter-nin was capable of, and to be frank, it scared her as much as it demanded her respect.

@ookami @QuirkyAngel

Itsuki would only be gone for just over a minute: after ensuring Shinra was stabilized and not about to die, he ran as fast as he possibly could to the healers, at whose door he deposited the body, with rushed instructions to heal him. Itsuki, not waiting for confirmation, sprung back into the trees. Seconds were precious to ninja, a battle could be won or lost in just a few. Itsuki began tearing open scroll and collecting chakra in preparation, eventually landing on a tree at the edge of a clearing a few hundred meters away, laying down explosive tag traps and preparing a squash-head round, running through the math as best he could while still being ready to act at a moment's notice. He did not have time to read the wind, or take the pressure, but that would not matter at such close range. The mist was still obfuscating his vision, he prayed that it would clear enough for him to ascertain the position, but he still felt the pangs of frustration and longing for his old comrade Ren and his lovely Hyuuga bloodline.

Kenji / Ryuu

Kenji suddenly had an even more pissed of look plastered upon his face. He growled a little before looking towards Shinra who he had injured. "Sorry to tell you kid but your just not on my level yet, slap him awake will you" He said, but with in the moment Itsuki had already carried him off somewhere, jumping back a few feet to get a better look at the group. "See I haven't even said 'Go' or 'Start' yet and your already jumping at the opportunity to get your asses kicked... Okay so one or two people are still yet to get here, but that's fine, they will join in as soon as they do along with Shinra when he is awake again. Okay, lets be serious now. This is a training exercise that is usually used to graduate Genin from the academy, so this should be no problem for you brats" he said. He put on his hunter nin mask and started to from seals. "Water Clone Jutsu" he said as five clones of water formed with the same masks on. "You goal is to knock the masks off of me and my five clones, Once you do the training exercise is over and we depart" he said. "One more thing, come at me as if I'm a dark nin, as if your going to kill me. If you cannot do that here, you won't be able to do it when we leave on our mission, and I will also not hesitate to break every bone in your body or kill you like a dark nin would on a mission" he said. "Okay.... go" he said very simply before taking a stance.

Ryuu took his stance. He watched Kenji-senpai closely as him and all the clones stood there. Then Ryuu quickly pulled a dagger and fired it at one of the clones which the dagger went through. He smiled. "Space time ninjutsu" he said as he quickly flew through the air and caught the kunai where his mark was and turned around and tried to slice the clone but it dissipated into mist as he did. Little did Ryuu know but they were currently under the effects of genjutsu.

(@ookami please give me some indication when your going to use Kanji's character so I know what he will be doing at least)

Tsubaki Soshiki

(Five-Tailed Beast)

The sound of a horn sounding stirred Tsubaki from her restless slumber. Yawning softly as she flicked a lock of pin-straight red hair from her sweat-covered forehead, the young Jinchūriki arose from the comfort of the bed she'd been sleeping in. Blinking a few times as her eyes adjusted to the bright morning light, Tsubaki smiled slightly as she internally addressed the spirit, the beast she'd spoken to since birth, Kokuō. "Good morning, Kokuō." Slipping on a pair of bed-sandals, the girl paused for a moment, patiently waiting for her usually quiet friend to answer. "Well good morning to you too, Baki." came a soft response. A wider smile upturned Tsubaki's lips as she dressed quickly, selecting a random fruit from the basket on the kitchen's counter and pushing open the door. Exiting the hut, Tsubaki took a bite from the fruit, recognizing it to be an apple.

"How was your sleep, Baki?"

The smile faltered at the question. Shrugging unconsciously, a hand crept to her hair once more as she twisted a lock between two fingers. "Not very good," she responded in a low voice, ignoring the confused looks she received from the many passerbyers. "you know why." Clenching her teeth as she pushed through a small crowd of people that occupied the small village, Tsubaki took a bite out of the apple once more, finishing and disposing of it.

"Mmmm.... Nightmares again?"

She nodded hastily before answering. "Yes. Lots of them." she intoned softly. The nightmares weren't a topic she necessarily wanted to talk on, something she was hoping her friend would pick up on. There was a slight pause before she received a response.

"Hurry on, dear. You don't want to be late for your little training session."

As usual, he got it, and Tsubaki nodded hastily as she hurried towards the training field, pausing before the many familiar faces. Nodding a respectful greeting towards the others, Tsubaki hurriedly joined the group, melting into the setting easily. Glancing about herself hastily, Tsubaki was unsurprised to see many displays of power. Green eyes darted from face-to-face, before pausing on the instructors form.

"I wonder what you'll be doing today?"

"Hopefully something a little..." she pondered on the proper word for describing the desired training for today. "challenging."

"Now, don't get overconfident."

A soft chuckle bubbled from the ginger's lips at Kokuō's words.

"I'm not. I'm not."

Rin waited patently first the real training to begin as his comrades fought with their sensei. He refuses to allow himself to join in and risk getting hurt on their last of training. He needs to be at his full strength for the quest ahead of them. Though it seems he is one of few who thinks this. He sighed shaking his head as Shinra was hurt but not stepping forward to heal him. He had limited supplies and refused to use them while still in the camp. Regardless he did feel sympathy for him. That would hinder him for some time.

He straightened one of his hands going toward one of his hidden Kunai as Kenji finally decided to start training. He was disappointed when faced with such an easy task but could see the reasoning behind it. Letting go of the Kunai as Ryuu made the first move he made his decision. After releasing his water gorge, which he had heard was similar to the sand ninja gaaras sand gorge, from his sealing scroll he slipped it on and stepped further into the field.

Taking a deep breath he moved his chakra threw the gorge and controlling the water made it flow out out and into a ball in front of him. Setting it on the ground he froze it into a ball of ice before putting his hands hands together. He created the hand seals swiftly and the ball of ice broke apart forming multiple sparrows who then proceeded to race toward the water clones. The water clones should be dispersed and if he didn't react fast enough so will Kenji.

(Will someone else please control the clones as I need to go.)

Chiaki

Chiaki was grateful for Junko-san’s assistance, as he didn’t think he could handle Suzuki-san alone. Even with his senbon support, Shinra-kun had been quickly disabled by Suzuki-san—proving that their instructor was indeed quite formidable. Though Chiaki was worried for the boy who Itsuki-san carried away, he knew he couldn’t afford to let down his guard while facing the former Hunter-nin. The heavy mist in the air also meant that an attack could come from anywhere.

Fortunately, Suzuki-san leapt back after beating Shinra-kun to observe the group. It would seem the actual training was about to begin. Chiaki briefly flicked his gaze to the trees as he listened to Suzuki-san explain the rules, wondering if the people he sensed watching them would help or hinder them.

Shrugging, Chiaki leapt back as one of the water clones emerged from the mist and came at him. Being a genjutsu user, Chiaki immediately felt that something was off. His suspicions were confirmed when he caught sight of Ryuu-kun hitting empty mist. Chiaki narrowed his eyes.

When had their instructor found time to cast the genjutsu?

Grabbing his Shamisen and fishing a steel plectrum from his pocket, Chiaki straddled the instrument and began to play, releasing his chakra with each note played. The sound would disrupt the abnormal flow of chakra and dispel Suzuki-san’s genjutsu. Now…if only he could do something about the mist, Chiaki thought as he narrowly avoided an attack from one of Suzuki-san’s water clones.

Fortunately, the clone came to him.

Blocking the water clone’s kunai with his Shamisen, Chiaki twisted the tuning pegs and drew his hidden weapon. With blinding speed, Chiaki slashed off one of the water clone masks.

Five more to go.

Itsuki figured he would have to play along to convince Kenji to stop. After dispelling the genjutsu, Itsuki took a few seconds to listen carefully, and thought he knew where his allies were. He may well have been off a few meters: his ninja senses were nothing incredible, but they were good enough for average target acquisition at a few hundred meters. Thankfully, he could afford to miss by a few meters. He needed to draw clones out of the mist to fire upon in the open stretch of land between the mist and the treeline, so he unsealed a pair of airburst shells. They were cones of thin steel fifteen centimeters at their base, filled with a timed fuse of paper charges with dozens of small balls of lead in a compartment at the tip, which would explode outwards with the explosion, dealing large amounts of soft tissue damage. Itsuki would fire the shells with no elevation correction: they would be in the air for less than half a second, moving at almost twice the speed of sound, and he keyed the fuse with his chakra to detonate a dozen or so meters from where he thought the clones not currently engaged in close combat were. He hated shooting into the fog, but after making double sure his allies were not in the large cone of shrapnel, he levitated them in front of him and muttered to himself "Ninja Art: Magnet Acceleration Jutsu". The sonic boom hurt his ears despite the ear protecting jutsu he had muttered the second before, and he silently thanked the medi-nin who learned how to cure tinnitus.

He hoped his aim would hit at least one water clone, but he prepared to engage all the water clones not currently engaging his allies, checking his traps visually and preparing small arms fire to meet attackers.

Shinra found himself in a dark room that smelled of iron and stank of burning flesh. He looked to see a singular man dressed in black wielding a bloody katana. A malicious grin spread across his face as he dropped the body of his father next to the bloodied body of his mother. 'You were weak, boy. You think you are strong enough to defeat a force that is unstoppable? You are just an ant that can be crushed whenever. You would not stand a chance.' The scene changed to the old monk and the doctor who died for his sake. The same man who killed his family manifested. He grinned again as the deaths of the old monk and the doctor flashed before the male Tenshima's eyes. 'You will never be strong enough to kill me, young Tenshima.' The scene faded as he found himself laying in a bed, medical gauze wrapped around his wound. He cursed himself for being stupid and rushing a man who was a level he could not reach even if he trained extensively.

He climbed out of bed and snuck out into the wilderness. He spotted a waterfall and made his way over. His family used meditation to calm their nerves and to confront their darkest fears. He found a flat rock behind the torrent of water to sit and assumed lotus position underneath the falls to meditate. He had allowed the darkness within his heart to take control of his actions. He caused the death of his precious because he was hasty. He promised himself he would never do that again and yet he had allowed it to happen again. The water rushed over him as he sat still allowing the water's loud current to block out any sounds outside of his own breathing and heartbeat.

He remembered the voice of his comrade as he lost consciousness from before. 'Shinra-kun, you fool.' He was indeed a fool to allow such things to cloud his mind. He allowed his cockiness to cause the deaths of the only people he called his family after his actual clan perished. He had learned much but never actually looked beyond the surface. He remembered the words of one of the elders when he was younger. 'Young Shinra, you possess great potential. You absorb knowledge quickly but you squander all that knowledge just as quickly. You've learned the clan's five taijutsu styles yet you have mastered none of them. You are the clan's prodigy but you only see the surface. If you learn to harness your strengths with your weaknesses, you will truly be the prodigy of the Tenshima clan.' The elder was right in what he had said. He had learned Suiken, the white tiger fist, iron palm, the flying sparrow, and the thunder kicks. Each style focused on an aspect of every martial arts. His eyes widened and closed again as water stung his eyes. The riddle of the elder was the answer. Harness both the strengths and weaknesses of each style.

He mentally combined the five styles. The swaying of a drunkard, the claws of the tiger, piercing palm, the swift punches, and the power of chain kicks. The combination of the five styles was his clan's greatest secret. He never realized the truth beyond the elder's words until now. He stood up and walked into the waist deep water. He moved against the water's current as his body moved instinctively to this new style. He continued practicing this new style. This was the last day of training but who said it was the last time he would learn something? That what his clan emphasized: everyday brought a new lesson. He grinned as he continued with the new forms; he had some brushing up to do before he could take on even the weakest of the Kage's men. He had learned a good lesson today: whose who underestimate their enemies will always lose.

(@Kanra23 sorry man. I'll make sure to next time.)

Katsumi and Ichiro were glad that group training had finally begun. It was painful to watch and Katsumi started to regret not stepping in after witnessing one of her group get badly injured by their instructor. She held back a growl as he seemed to rub it in with his "you're just not on my level yet" remark. There was no time to be distracted by anger as Kenji started to explain their training. Katsumi and Ichiro stood in a ready stance before Kenji said "Go." Once the water clones appeared they attacked.

Neither of them where aware of the genjutsu until another ninja in their group dispelled it. They didn't have long to react to the change of the water clones' location; as they began to change strategies, they heard the ear splitting sonic boom. They weren't close enough for it to damage their ears, but their ears rang due to their animalistic sense of hearing. They both covered their ears. The pain was almost crippling. Katsumi went down onto one knee while Ichiro went down on both knees; Torayuri and Ookami didn't fare much better.

Katsumi recovered faster than Ichiro did. As Katsumi stood back up, she noticed a clone heading toward Ichiro. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the orange and black striped form of Torayuri stand up. Katsumi smiled before uttering her jujitsu. "Claw Passing Claw!" Katsumi and Torayuri rabidly spun their bodies as they headed at the clone like a drill. After the clone had been dealt with, she turned to see Ichiro stating to stand. "You OK?" she asked him as she helped him up. "Ya," the young Ichiro replied. "Warn me next time before you do that again," he said to Itsuki, assuming his jujitsu was the cause of the sonic boom.

Shirokko

(One-Tailed)

"Why, hello Itsuki." Nodding in greeting, the woman snapped out of her lull. "Glad to see you are well. And no need for apologies, at least you're here now. Let's do our best okay? I want to end this war, friend." The ninja grinned and beamed like a demon; he was ones one of the ones she liked. He was nice, respectful, and through spending much time with Shukaku, Shirokko could tell he had a magnet release too.

However, it wasn't long before another voice stole the attention. Chiaki. Her glance lingered long on the boy (girl?), before she finally gave a response. "Good morning to you too Chi-a-ki." Whether she should hug or ruffle his (or her?) hair, she didn't know, but one thing was certain, whatever he (or she?) was, he (or she?) was adorable.

It was then all the other ninja started to enter. First came Agako and his two-tailed, then Katsumi-Ichiro with their animal pets, and then there was Raze Kurai.

Raze Kurai; the same one who's clan helped destroy their village.

shukaku_eye_by_sicnesse_d5j4kxa.jpg

Her right eye instantly turned black with the mark of Shukaku.

"Look at him. He's not even looking at you. It's like he doesn't even care! His family slaughtered yours! Now is the perfect chance to get your revenge. Kill him Sand ninja. Kill him n-"

"Shut up Raccoon. I will kill him how, and when I want."

Before anything more on the matter could be discussed, Kenji the instructor began to harass another student. The general aggression out in the area began to make her antsy. From the incoming Junko, to Rin, to Shinra trying to dodge, Shirokko had an incurable urge to murder them all. It wasn't until Akago said a few words, that she was able to remain calm.

"Always," she muttered, looking square in his eyes. "He doesn't give me anything. No knowledge, no jutsu, no advice, no chakra. Just nightmares and a bunch of useless sand. I kind of wish we could trade. You and your cat seem absolutely fine."

It was at those words that everything went side-ways. Fives clones of Kenji appeared, and the field was covered with thick mist. Shinra, who'd had been hurt was spirited away as Rin began his attack.

Shirokko, about to move, was stopped by her demon's inner voice.

"Genjutsu, you fool."

What? This stopped her dead in her tracks. Music came from Chiaki's instrument and blew it away, but the only problem wasn't that. There were pieces of metal spinning in the air. Instinctively, her sand reached out to grab the bits, saving her and Akago from certain harm.

"Metal? What the heck?" The Kunoichi growled with audible shock, knowing exactly who its was. Itsuki the idiot! What did he think he was doing? How could he even see anything through all the mist? Using such a dangerous skill, in conditions like this? Exploding bullets at that! What was he thinking?

"Wind Release: Turbulent Palm." Clenching fists, she gently punched in each direction, with blasts of air cutting the mist down.

Junko watched as her team mates engaged the water clones, wincing and clutching a hand to one of her ears as the sonic boom of Itsuki's attack passed over her.

Its a good jutsu, but I wish he'd watch the noise...

Lowering her hand, Junko surveyed the battlefield. It was only out of the corner of her eye that she noticed the second clone descending on Chiaki from the side. As the boy dispatched his clone, Junko darted past the pair to intercept the flanking masked figure.

"Water release: Water Whip!" She shouted, forming her chakra into a coil of water in her left hand, flicking it towards the clone with a twitch of her wrist. The rope caught the incoming attacker, wrapping itself around him, and with a jerk Junko pulled the man closer.

Got you! she thought.

As the man stumbled forwards and Junko readied her tanto, she spotted the glint of a kunai concealed in his hand. With a flash, the masked ninja slashed through the rope, severing it, before lunging at Junko. The Kunoichi, taken by surprise, staggered back and raised her tanto to parry the blow. With a ring of metal-on-metal the weapons connected. The two shinobi were still for a moment, Junko's face so close to the man's mask that her nose was almost touching it.

Are you the real Kenji?" she thought, or just a clone?

Driving forwards with her shoulder Junko forced her opponent back. She took advantage of the brief respite by clasping her hands together and shouting,

"Water prison jutsu!"

In an instant, the figure was engulfed in a sphere of water. For a moment, Junko relaxed. Then the prison broke, water spilled to the ground and the attacking was driving forwards with his kunai. Junko swore, deflecting the attack, spinning and slashing woth her tanto only to find her own strike parried by the masked figure, thier weapons spitting sparks as they grated against each other.

I suppose I should have expected as much. She thought. It would be near impossible for me to capture a hunter-nin with water based techniques, considering their mastery over that chakra form.

She adjusted her grip on the tanto, holding it across her body in readiness, watching her opponent.

I suppose I'll have to beat Kenji at close quarters then. She grimaced at the prospect. Unless...

"Hey, Chiaki-kun?" She called over her shoulder. "If you're done with your clone, care to lend a hand?" She kept her eyes fixed on her own masked attacker. "My jutsu aren't of much use against Suzuki-sensei, and I don't fancy my chances with only a tanto and senbon."

At that moment, her opponent launched himself at her, now with a kunai held in either hand. The blades flashed like quicksilver, almost faster than Junko's eyes could follow them. Her tanto flickered as Junko was pushed back, defending for all she was worth against the barrage of strikes. Then a kunai broke through, tossed underhand through Junko's defense to skim her shoulder. The kunoichi winced, feeling the cloth of her shirt parting as it was sliced open, sensing the blood trickling from her upper shoulder.

Junko leapt backwards, maintaining a slight distance from the masked man. Clasping her hands together she murmured, "Water clone jutsu", and suddenly there were three Junko's on the battlefield. All three grimaced, checked their grips on their tantos, before calling;

"Chiaki-kun, any help anytime soon would be appreciated."

Tsubaki Soshiki

(Five-Tailed Beast)

Looking over the water clones skeptically, Tsubaki internally addressed Kokuō.

'Doesn't seem to hard.'

"No, it doesn't but do remember this is an advanced shinobi," he responded. "keep a wary eye."

The girl nodded before inhaling, slowly her and the beasts chakra's together as she prepared to combat the enemy and its many clones -

"Don't use that one, its too uncontrolled."

Frowning, Tsubaki released her hold on the beasts chakra, instead beginning to contort her fingers into the symbol needed for the intended jutsu - Metal ripped through the air, nearly hitting Tsubaki. Ducking out of the way, a scowl quickly down-turned the girls lips as she glared at the direction the attack had come from.

"What fool fires metal through mist-"

"Focus. Focus."

T
he beast sounded more amused then upset, which quickly calmed Tsubaki down.

"Right, right."

"Water release: Water Bullet!"

Tsubaki gathered saliva in her mouth, molding chakra into it as she formed it into balls spitting it through the now dispersed mist towards each clone. She continued with the method, molding spitting, molding spitting.

The clones merely disappeared into mist, informing Tsubaki that a genjutsu technique was being used.

"Didn't I tell you too keep a wary eye?"

"I know, I know."

Dispelling the genjutsu, Tsubaki gathered chakra-influenced oil in her mouth, before spitting it out, igniting the oil with chakra. Fire spilled from her lips into one blaze, hitting the nearest clone with the oil-influenced fire.

Akago flinched as Shirokko caught the bullets. "Damn the hell was that for?! Nice catch Shirokko." He said as she started to disperse the mist. "Seems like a good plan, let me give you a hand." Forming the ram seal he gathered together his chakra and yelled "Wind Release: Divine Wind!" Sending out a single swirling vortex the wind tore away the mist revealing Junko facing down Kenji while calling out to Chiaki.

Turning to face Shirokko he said. "I'm going to go help Junko." Tossing one of his marked kunai down in front of the Kunoichi's feet he continued. "Hold on to that, if Kenji comes after you or Shukakku gets out of hand just shout a I'll be over...in a flash."

Dashing towards Junko he felt Matatabi chuckle. "That line was awful."

"Shut up."

Chiaki

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Chiaki was startled by the noise and would have probably missed the clone descending on his side, if not for Junko-san. He was grateful Shirokko-san and another red haired shinobi managed to clear the mist that had enveloped them. While diligent training had given Chiaki an acute sense of danger and limited ability to sense chakra, Chiaki was not able to fight as well as he could have with his vision impaired. There was only so much he could do with just his ears alone.

The mist also made it difficult to assess their current situation—as well as the status of his allies. Chiaki had no idea how many clones were defeated until the mist had cleared.

Clang!

Clang!

The sound of his blade clashing with the water clone’s echoed softly, a pale comparison to the sonic booms from Itsuki-san’s jutsu. Swiftly blocking the kunai that was thrust towards him, Chiaki forced the clone’s blade upward, creating an opening. Then before the clone could respond, Chiaki smashed his open side with the sheath in his left hand(Shamisen). There was a sickening crunch before the clone that he had un-masked previously dispersed into water. The style that Chiaki’s master had taught him was one that utilized both the sword and the sheath.

Chiaki knew that he would not have been able to defeat his opponent so easily if it hadn’t been a water clone. The hard part was un-masking Suzuki-san.

Chiaki turned when he heard his name being called. Three Junko-sans, as well as the red-haired shinobi that had helped Shirokko-san clear the mist, were facing against a water clone. Judging from the fact that Junko-san had a hard time, it likely meant that it was the real Suzuki-san. Sheathing his blade back into his Shamisen, Chiaki hardly paid attention as the strings re-strung themselves and immediately began strumming his instrument.

“Shamisen art: Ballad of 1000 chains,” Chiaki murmured, casting the genjutsu at Suzuki-san.

It would appear to Suzuki-san as if chains had erupted from the ground, mentally binding the Hunter-nin in place. He could only hope that would hold Suzuki-san long enough for his allies to tear off the mask.

Rin scrowled shaking his head as the fog began to disperse and allowed him to see better. It had actually been a little relaxing though he doubted his allies thought so. Looking up he found his swallows had done their job and dispersed of some of his clones, and that a fellow Allie had chained up the real hunter-nin. Or who seemed to be. He nodded to chiaki thankfully assuming he was responsible. Then slowly began the examine best way to finish this.

He knew the others may have abilities he did not that would accomplish the task in their own ways. However he would try his own before Turning to them. It should not do any harm. Walking toward the group he stopped about twenty feet from the chained hunter nin. He would not allow himself to get any closer.

Controlling a tendril of water he formed three bo shurkien and grasping them threw them toward the hunter nin. They turned to water before they could hit his face and grasped to the edge of the mask. Clenching his fist he began dragging the water toward him and hopefully along with the mask. This is a special move he has been working on though still finds shaky.

Kenji / Ryuu :

Kenji grinned. He was really going to have a tough time with this group, one clone was already down and one suffered a claw over claw attack from Katsumi, which knocked him back a few feet (@shadowdude505 ). Other clones were fighting their battles. Then he watch Chiaki cast his genjutsu although he did not seem to bother it. When Rin began to pull his mask off using the water he couldn't help but to laugh. "You fools, I'm known at the shark sage, and you just gave me the perfect advantage" he said as his neck changed slightly opening gill that could be used in water, is eyes would also get smaller and turn pitch black with a blue-ish hue around them, but this was impossible to see from inside the mask. Kenji began to move little by little, he bit his tongue and spat blood out onto his hand and began to slowly form seals. "Summoning jutsu" he said as he summoned three sharks that traveled through the water rin had been using to pull off his mask, one of which jumped from the water and flew towards Chiaki, causing enough of a distraction to allow him to break free of Chiaki's binds. Kenji seemed to finally get completely serious, "I've decided I'm not going to allow you to leave here alive today" he said as he formed a rat seal. he built up his chakra before crouching low and getting ready to charge. As he began to charge at them his hand started to glow and sparks began to shoot from it making the sound of a thousand chirping birds. "Chidori" he says as he heads in a straight line towards Chiaki with rapid speed. (@kira blackthorn @QuirkyAngel )

While this was happening Ryuu had been released from the genjutsu by Chiaki's music. He looked around for his target, which he could not find because of the thick mist. He looked around until eventually some one cleared the mist. He found at target and threw a kunai at it. "Space time Ninjutsu" he said as the kunai just passed by the clone. With that he reached over and garbed the mask off the clone and the clone instantly turned to water upon having his mask pulled off. Also with in the mist one of the metal petals that were being fired by Itsuki skimmed across a clones mask, exploding as it did and shattering the mask. This clone also turned back into water. (Only two clones, the one by Katsumi, and the one in front of Akago @IG42 , and then there's Kenji who will probably be the last one left, as he made the clones weaker but he is also tiring out from the clones Fatigue, This arc will be ending very soon and we will be officially starting the main portion of this roleplay)

Junko swore as Kenji rushed at Chiaki, his hands engulfed in the Chidori. Kenji's command over water chakra ruled out all of her jutsu, but there was no way she was allowing the Sensei to hit Chiaki, not after she had involved him with this fight. As the hunter-nin charged, Junko lunged forwards, swinging her tanto in a vicious arc and attempting to intercept the Shinobi. She kept an eye on the Chidori, desperately ducking and weaving, trying to avoid its tendrils of crackling lightning as she did all she could to slow Kenji down.

If I can just keep him occupied and away from Chiaki, then we might have a chance...

"Chiaki," she called behind her, "Get behind him, now's our chance. Go for his mask!"

Itsuki was irritated that Kenji was trying to stab his comrades with something appropriately named an 'S-Ranked Assassination Technique', but he had given up thinking about that. Kenji was engaged in melee with Junko, and he could hear even from 200 meters away that she was coordinating an attack with Chiaki. Itsuki couldn't fire the vast majority of his arsenal at Kenji, not wanting to test the durability of the hunter-nin to any great degree. Fortunately, Itsuki had one of his sillier creations sealed into the scroll in his left hand. He unfurled more of the scroll at a blistering speed, skipping past dozens of different armaments as fast as he could, muttering a minor vision-enhancing jutsu to give him some leeway with his aim. He found it, and unsealed it as quickly as he could, the projectile looking the same as the ones fired before, albeit with a different-colored band at the base of the cone. Made on a whim and not quite through testing yet, it was another airbust round, fired at subsonic speeds, that burst into a quick-drying epoxy, that hopefully would slow down or completely incapacitate targets hit, while only doing small amounts of physical damage to the target [it would sting, sure, but in the end it was two cups of liquid going just over two hundred meters per second: nothing dangerous to a ninja]. As he levitated the round and prepared to fire it, he corrected the airburst time and deactivated some of the paper charges within, reducing the explosive spread of the epoxy, almost guaranteeing only Kenji would be hit. After taking aim, the whole process taking just over a second, he repeated "Ninja Art: Magnet Acceleration Jutsu", and the round flew off almost silently. His ears thanked Kami for the lack of damage as he watched the shell fly towards Kenji, his aim looking just about perfect, hoping the round would work as intended. After a just under a second, he saw the dark pink burst spread out slightly, moving quickly towards the still-engaged Shark Sage...

Chiaki (owner of Nuibari)

Chiaki’s feet just barely touched the ground—a result of having to dodge Suzuki-san's shark summoning—when he saw their instructor charge at him with a hand that crackled with electricity.

Fast!

Having landed on the balls of his feet, Chiaki’s muscles tensed as he prepared to pivot out of the way, narrowly dodging Suzuki-san’s assault. However before the attack could even reach him, Junko-san intercepted Suzuki-san, swinging her blade in a vicious arc that forced Suzuki-san to stop and avoid her attack. Chiaki’s only response was to blink in surprise as Junko-san stood protectively over him and did her best to keep Suzuki-san occupied. Despite his surprise, Chiaki was quick to react.

Moving as soon as Junko-san spoke, Chiaki got behind Suzuki-san just as Itsuki-san fired a barrage of airburst shots at Kenji, which seemed to explode into some sort of sticky substance.

It was rare that Chiaki got angry. He was normally very passive and often let things that would normally get people angry slide off him like water. However, upon seeing Junko-san between Suzuki-san’s jutsu…chidori…Chiaki had been reminded of when he saw his parents’ death. Though the young fifteen year old didn’t know about much about 'chidori'—he only knew the name because he had heard Suzuki-san say it—Chiaki could easily sense the power behind the jutsu. It was undoubtedly a killing move that their “instructor” had chosen to use. The thought of Junko-san dying while trying to protect Chiaki from such a jutsu caused a feeling of cold fury to erupt from his gut.

Using the distraction that Isuki-san and Junko-san provided, Chiaki slung his Shamisen back onto his back and undid his butterfly seal, causing the legendary Nuibari to appear in his hand. Chiaki hadn’t planned on using the Nuibari, least of all on a training test. However, he knew he couldn’t end this absurdly dangerous test unless he gave it his all…and unless he gave it his all, Junko-san's life might be in danger.

Chiaki could only trust that the rest of his allies would take care of the remaining water clones.

Silently, while Suzuki-san was still distracted by Junko-san and Itsuki-san, Chiaki performed his own water clone jutsu causing three other clones of himself to appear around Suzuki-san—each of the clones maneuvering in a way to keep the Shark-sage trapped between them. Then, with the dexterity and blinding speed that came with many hours of practice, Chiaki passed the sewing-needle sword back and forth between him and the two clones, effectively creating a mesh of wires that trapped Suzuki-san.

“Longsword Ninja Art: Tri-pronged web,” Chiaki said as he pulled the wires taut with his left hand, his right hand gripping Nuibari. Nuibari's wire was sharp enough to bite flesh. Soon after Chiaki tightened the wires, the third clone, that had hidden behind Chiaki, leapt onto the wire mesh and dashed towards the bound Suzuki-san, whose arms and legs were imobilized. It drew its kunai and brought the weapon down in a vertical arc, intending to slice off Suzuki’s mask.

Shinra made his way back to the plains and unsealed a naginata. He wasn't going to be as reckless this time. He brought some aces to use. "Ryuu, Itsuki, I'm back. I'll cover you. Just take him down." (@Kanra23 ,@Pentagon ). "Tenshima Style: Slicing Waves!" shouted Shinra as chakra waves flew in the direction of the real Kenji. The chakra waves sliced through the water and left a few shallow cuts on his torso. Kenji sent his sharks toward Shinra who cleaved through them with his naginata. "Tenshima style: Whirlwind Strikes!" Shinra charged Kenji as Chiaki leapt to slice the mask of the Shark sage. The strikes successfully blocked the strikes Kenji was going counter Chiaki's water clone with. (@QuirkyAngel ).

"I may be a fool and may be too weak to face you head on, Kenji but as a team, we will defeat you!" shouted Shinra. He hit Kenji with the flat of his blade as the clone sliced the mask in two with the legendary Nuibari. Quickly sealing his naginata, Shinra pulled out a sealing array tag he had worked on and slapped it on the downed hunternin. "Fuinjutsu: Chakra Draining Seal!" The seal glowed with Shinra's chakra and began to siphon what remained of the hunternin's chakra at a slow rate. If he tried to form any jutsu, the array would immediately absorb the chaka. They had beat a powerful sage.

Akago glanced over at Kenji and saw him downed by Shinra. "Looks like it's just the three of us." he said addressing the clone in front of him. "Time to clear up, Matatabi! I'm going to need some of your chakra."

"Fine, but if you waste it I'll see you don't sleep for a week."

Grinning Akago drew Hokuchi and charged toward the clone as it did the same. Grabbing three kunai in his right hand he checked for the red band he used to identify his marked kunai before throwing all three at the clone simultaneously which it quickly sidestepped. As the flying blades zipped past the fake Kenji Akago formed his free hand into the Seal of Confrontation. "Flying Raijin Technique."

Instantly teleporting to the still airborne kunai a few meters behind the water clone he called out. "Samurai Sabre Technique" Pouring Matatabi's chakra into Hokuchi the sword became wreathed in blue flame like chakra extending several times the length of the blade, As the clone stopped and began to turn Akago swung the chakra blade in a horizontal arc catching the clone just above the waist and cleaving through it's body leaving a steaming gap as it dissolved.

Junko's shoulders rose and fell rapidly as she panted, holding her tanto loosely at her side. It had been a close call, she knew that. Suzuki-sensei's chidori had been no joke, and the effort of simply keeping the jutsu away from her had taken everything she had. As her breathing slowed, she turned to glance between Itsuki, Shinra, and Chiaki.

"Thanks guys," she slid her tanto back into its sheath at her hip. "That was too close."

Junko glanced over at Chiaki.

"You okay?" She asked. "Nice swordwork by the way, Chiaki-kun. You've improved since I last saw you use Nuibari." She then threw a look over at Shinra.

"You too, Shinra-kun. Seems you work better in a team then you do alone." Junko cracked a grin, before slumping down to a her knees, arms aching from handling her sword, glancing around at the other Shinobi on the field before looking down at Kenji.

"I think we won, Suzuki-sensei." Junko savored the words as she said them. "And even you can't deny that I've improved since we last fought."

As she looked about her, she spotted Itsuki standing a short distance away. Junko directed a tired nod at the elder ninja.

"Thanks, Itsuki-san."

Itsuki was happy that the training was apparently over. He walked over to the rest of the ninja, covering the few hundred meters at a relatively slow pace, reaching the group as they were settling down to rest. He felt slightly guilty still being so fresh, only having used two techniques with very low chakra requirements, but he knew he did his fair share. He did not look forward to restocking the few hundred paper tags he had used, but at least he could use clones to speed things up. His clones' caligraphy was not as precise as his own, but the day he managed to get them to work was one of the happiest in his life. Hanoka was a great help too, though she would not be happy with him having to work the night before he was off on a mission.

He nodded at Junko's comment. "My pleasure, Junko. We did pretty well, I'd say. You all handled yourself excellently, no complaints from me. Sorry I wasn't able to coordinate better, but at least Shinra's looking fine now". He had no idea how the medics managed to heal him so fast: he'd have to ask them about it later. Rapid healing like that would be a serious boon to a team, if Itsuki could figure out who did it.

He looked quizzically at the prone form of Kenji. The man looked defeated, and it did not seem to be a clone, but Itsuki could imagine Kenji being the kind of teacher to fake defeat then attack, shouting about "always being on your guard". Itsuki doubted such a thing would happen, but he kept his right hand closed around half a dozen smaller bullets, just in case, and kept one of his teammates between himself and Kenji.

"So. Anyone know what this mission we're going on entails? I was never told, and Hanoka's getting nervous."
