Uh, are you asking if you need to be in a specific clan to have the kekkei genkai? Yes and no. If it's very specific, such as the byakugan or sharingan, you need to be directed related to the respective clans. Maybe not a pure member, with a different surname, but you still need that. For elemental KKG's, not exactly. Lava release was shown by Kurotsuchi of Iwagakure, Dodai of Kumogakure, and Mei Terumi of Kirigakure. All the same KKG, but spread over the entire continent. I'd say that there will be clans that practice these abilities, but they aren't limited to the clans. You can take magnet release as another example, with the Third Kazekage and a shinobi from Kumogakure both having it yet there is no established clan.
TlR - If it's something incredibly unique and special like eye powers, yes. If it's an element, most likely no. There may be some exceptions, but none come to mind. Unless Huntrey would rather have it be the other way, in which case disregard the entire post.

From what I understand using canon clans is fine. Though TAC or Hunt will probably clarify also.

Name: Hy?ga Shinado (Shen-a-doh)


Alias: Shin (pronounced Shen), no others (subject to change)


Age: 18


Height: 175 Centimeters


Weight: 53.9 Kilograms


Physical Description: Shinado is tall and slender, coinciding with his roots as a Hy?ga. He has a smooth complexion that doesn't hide a muscular build. His eyes are also fogged over. His black hair is one inch long and spikes directly upwards.


Personality: Shinado is known for being friendly, even to those who have harmed him. Some have claimed this is because he already feels above everyone, so he doesn't want to make them feel bad about it, while others think he just genuinely enjoys those around him. He's a social bug, and almost seems to need someone to talk to in order to keep his energy up. He does, however, take training seriously and when he's 'in the zone' he doesn't like to be interrupted (he will not react violently if someone tries, though). He's always willing to lend a helping hand, even if not asked. Words that are often used to explain Shinado's personality are: dedicated, helpful, and friendly.

Kekkei Genkai: Byakugan, the All Seeing White Eye


Specialist: Taijutsu and his Byakugan are Shinado's two specialties.


Preferred battle style: Shinado prefers to fight in close proximity to his opponent, though he can effectively fight at medium ranges. His skill level at long-range matchups is low, though he is working to improve.


Chakra Level: Medium-High(ish) - I'm a little iffy on this one. If there's a point in-RP that you think he should be reacting to overuse of chakra or should be completely exhausted from it, let me know.


Chakra control: High? Again this one I'm iffy on. He's likely to have high chakra control if you're talking about it the way I think you are, but let me know on this as well.


Jutsu: I'm not quite sure how in-depth you want this, and I'm not finished with all the jutsu he has. I'll probably need help on this in some way because I'm not good with jutsu names or any of that jazz, but here's a list of some of the ones he's obtained from the Hy?ga clan:






So, from top to bottom these are most important to least important for my character. I'm not sure where the power levels are going to be in this RP, so this is definitely going to change. There's probably a severe lack in jutsu here but I'm just putting some of the easier ones for me to remember, and they're all Hyuga-specific... The others I'll add later once I have time to collaborate and hopefully with help from you guys. Again, I'm bad with jutsu and shit so this is going to be pitiful, but here it is:

• Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty Eight Palms (and Sixty-Four Palms) ... (I'm not sure if 361 Style is allowed in this role play... If it is, I may include it)

I'll add more jutsu as time progresses and I understand more about the depth needed here.


Summons: None (Subject to change, I might have Ninken summon like Kakashi but that's up for debate).


Weapons:






Shinado has a couple of unique weapon specs. For one, all of his normal shuriken are three-bladed instead of four. As an academy student, he made a smartass comment to his team leader saying "A true man can always do more with less!" and tried to prove it by using three-bladed shuriken for an entire exercise. While these three-bladed shuriken don't actually have much of a disadvantage from four-bladed shuriken, he's been using them since to prove to his old team leader he's still a 'true man'.

Shinado also carries around swordez (These are actually mine )

Character History: Shinado was born as a part of the Hy?ga clan's Branch House. His father passed down the Hy?ga customs as Shinado became older. Shinado graduated from the Academy first in his class (This isn't necessary. If someone else wants to be the first of Shinado's class or TAC/Hunt wants that to change it, is able to change). Shindo seemed to be on the good side of most of the Shinobi he worked with and trained against, as well as the towns people of Konohagakure. Though some believed he only acted friendly because he felt superior, so there were the few who disliked him. (I'll work on it more later, I gotta have time to think about it.)

So I usually go without, putting myself at a disadvantage with the many people who decide to make one, or make my character part of the Yamanaka clan. Because seriously, their hiden technique is awesome. Even if it isn't as unique as a Kekkei Genkai.


Would it be ok if I pm you something secret I'd like to do? Just to see if it's acceptable.

If you need help brainstorming, I could elude a little to the plot to you so you can make an interesting character. If not about the plot, I wouldn't mind just talking about it with you. It's probably my favorite thing, making the characters.

A medic-nin's always an important dynamic to a team, especially one that'll of the size for this RP. But then again so is Genjutsu. . I'd say whatever plays better to your characters personality.
