• Prologue:

1 A.M. Location: Somewhere in the Konoha Forest

There was a crack of thunder, and the Hokage dropped to the ground, unable to defend himself anymore. Unable to bear the pressure of any further attack, his arms simply dangled along his sides, and his legs no longer had any strength; He was loosing blood.

The wind muffled his desperate breaths, the only faint light was the storm above, crackling like kindling to a fire.

Six masked figures emerged from the darkness of the forest, all wearing similar attire of an ANBU mask with a combat jacket of some sort, size varying. Faint whispers could be heard among them, though the wind muffled them. The Hokage, Soruto Uzumaki scanned for an escape, but there was none. His anxiety was hinted at more and more with each breath he took, knowing they very well would be his last.

The figure facing him directly stepped forward, revealing a completely bald man, with tattoos stretching around his head hiding beneath an ANBU mask covered in red waves. "You've grown weak Soruto" A deep, raspy, yet sinister voice echoed out of the mask.

The Hokage spit out blood onto the man. "So it seems." not breaking eye contact.

"What happens now?" Soruto asked, taking another moment to take in his surroundings. "What do you want with me, Hisoka?"

Before him, the figure quenched his fist after hearing that name. Taking a few steps forward, he thrashed the Hokage's head back into the ground with a kick. Soruto grunted, and his adversary walked overtop of him, grabbing a handful of his hair and pulling him so that the two were face to face.

"I don't care about you, or your damn family. Inu is all that remains now; Your dog Hisoka died long ago, all I'm after is what you're keeping in that vase you tucked away from the world."

Suddenly the Hokage's eyes widened, and a gasp escaped his mouth. "How do you know abou-"

"You're a coward and a traitor!" Inu yelled, ripping some kind of object off Soruto with a special seal sign. He then violently threw him to the ground, breathing heavily as he walked away.

"Red!" He heaved out to a hulking 7 foot tall individual. "Kill him. Akuma will take care of the rest."

8 A.M Location: Konoha Ninja Academy.

"Quiet down everyone, I have an urgent announcement." Kaito, the head Jonin of Konoha's shinobi ranks walked to the front and center of a very crowded classroom, filled only with Jonin from each and every village. Though his face may have not shown it, those who knew Kaito best could pick up the signs and see he was under a great amount of stress. The tone of the room quickly changed, and all were quiet and attentive to Kaito.

Just yesterday the most recent genin class graduated, all of these Jonin were here simply because they were going to pick up their assigned teams. This graduating class was very important, as they would be the first genin to begin a Shinobi career under this new national system. Teams were supposed to be given an hour ago, and with the tone of the building even the most oblivious of the Jonin knew something was up.

"I'm going to state this blunty: Hokage Soruto of Konoha has been assassinated."

A collection of gasps, and a thicker silence engulfed the room. Many of the leaf Shinobi were visibly stunned by the news.

"Intelligence has reported to me these details that they've discovered after hastily working all throughout the night."

"Last night around 1 AM Hokage Soruto Uzumaki was lured out of the village. The cause is unknown, but the detection field around Konoha sensed him leaving around that time without his ANBU body guards, and several eye witnesses can confirm it as well. Exactly what may have occurred in the next three hours we do not know, but intelligence believes this is when he was killed by multiple Shinobi, as evidence from his wounds."

His eyes glared into the eyes of each Shinobi, as if he were searching for something in each of them. "The story doesn't end there however. At exactly 4 AM our database show that Hokage Soruto entered a heavily secured section of our intelligence building, which contained highly classified information. However, the detection field has no record of the Hokage's chakra signature coming back into the village. In otherwords, an imposter entered the village. A perfect imposter that could pass through all the security measures of our facility. Three documents containing classified information were stolen, the exact contents I cannot tell you about though I am allowed to say it involved Jinchuriki. Then, two hours later at 6 AM the Hokage's corpse is discovered in his office. Intelligence confirms it is truly him and not a fake.

He took a breath and steadied himself for a moment, then continued. "Only one Chakra signature entered the village between 1 and 4 AM, and that is the imposter's signature. He or She has not left the village, and is still hidden somewhere, and right now Konoha is on a code 3 Alert. For all you foreigners, this means that a special form martial law has been implemented, in which ANBU are currently out hunting for the culprit. The Public has not been informed of the situation, as doing so could cause a crisis and would interfere in the man-hunt."

"With the current political situation none of our nations can harm come to our genin on Konoha soil. We must get them out of Konoha and away from any immediate danger. You are all to grab your assigned missions, meet your teams, and head out of the village to do them. Do not waste any time. Do not tell your students of what was happened until you are well and out of the village. And finally, do not return to Konoha until the situation has been officially cleared."

"As of current circumstances, according to the chain of command I am temporary Hokage, therefore this is an official order."

"Your team information is being handed out now. You are all scheduled to meet with your teams at 9 and have them out of the village by 10. Good luck, and stay safe."

    Mission 37A: The Objector

Rank: B (Has potential to rise or fall)

A new Hokage for the leaf must be found! Luckily, in these times of need there is a potential candidate. Atsushi Masuno is his name, and he no longer resides in the leaf. Being a conscientious objector, Atsushi has taken up a more nomadic lifestyle, and his last location is not known. However, he was last sighted in the land of Lightning, precisely why you have been assigned this mission. You know the lay of the land.

Your mission is to head into the Land of Lightning via train, and search for Atsushi. He could be anywhere, and even has the potential to not be in the land of Lightning. Kumogakure intelligence is currently collecting the details and will relay the information to you upon your time of arrival. Be on your guard, local bandit activity has skyrocketed the past few weeks in the area. Due to the importance a Chunin has been sent to assist your team, you are to show her the ropes of running a team.

Due to the importance of your mission, do not tell anyone outside of your team your mission. Atsushi may be an ally, but he has many enemies. If word leaks out it could jeopardize the mission.

    Good luck, and happy hunting.

Head Konoha Jonin and Temporary Hokage Kaito Sonkei

    Team 13's Mission:

    @Chayliel, @Gabriel Leko, @Pyosimros,

    Mission 45J: Find the informant!

Rank: B (Has potential to rise or fall)

As you may already know, last night the Hokage was assassinated. We do not know how, or why for that matter, however recent contact with a contact in the Hidden Mist reveals he might have some information on the matter. We will relay information about the informants details later, however due to your skill set Matsuda you are the most qualified for this mission.

Your mission is to take your team across the land of Fire and into the Hidden Mist, where you will locate the informant. Depending on what Intelligence relays to you from the Mist, you may or may not have to gain this information directly from the Mizukage. Suspicious activity has been reported from the Mist within the last week, be always on your guard.

You are to board a train to the nearest shipyard and begin your journey as soon as possible.

    Safe Sailing,

Head Konoha Jonin and temporary Hokage Kaito Sonkei

Note: The teams list has been posted around the village for the genin and other characters to see.

Kurai Nakamura

Kurai's journey through the village had been more or less exactly the way he'd expected it to be. Once people caught the gleam of his Kumogakure headband proudly displayed on his left bicep and then his rather striking features,it didn't take long for the rather nasty looks to come his way. He could taste the hate, the loathing the people of this village held for him and his actions.

Their hypocrisy was laughable.

Nonetheless with practiced ease he strode towards his destination. He wasn't in a rush and he wanted to take in the surroundings of a village that for so long he had struggled and sacrificed to get even half as close as he was right now. By the time he got to the classroom, the white haired Jonin was making multiple comparisons between it and Kumo. The classroom filled with Jonin was filed with the sound of general chatter. A few eyes turned his way when he entered but nothing overtly obvious as the treatment he;d been given by some of the other villagers before. For the first time in an actual while, he found himself being positively excited. He was getting an actual team, one of his very first goals as a shinobi that had only gained more meaning as time passed. The responsibility to pass down knowledge and make the world a better place for the next generation had always been on of his primary philosophies and was at times the sole reason he even fought anymore. In a perfect world, he and his Genin would continue the tradition of growing up and closer in relative peacetime. Like it had been before the war.

Alas, the World of Shinobi was everything but perfect.

"I'm going to state this bluntly: Hokage Soruto of Konoha has been assassinated."

Kurai's mouth opened slightly, the only sign of his surprise. The last time a Kage had been assassinated it was the previous Kazekage and everyone knew how that turned out. But the connotation was that the Hokage was not  poison but was killed in combat. Even if it was a group of people, Soruto Uzumaki was not weak by any means. A man that pushed the upper boundaries of S-rank was not only in murdered in close proximity to his village but it was done so silently and efficiently that they had more time to steal sensitive documents.

Documents that involved Jinchuuriki of all things. At that tidbit of information, the situation got even more dire. Kurai listened to the rest of the proceedings and merely nodded resolutely as it was concluded. 'This is the definition of fresh out the frying pan and into the fire..' He opened the folder he was given and arched an eyebrow at some of the information inside. 'Co-instructor?' Wasn't expecting that one. They all seemed fairly interesting, especially the one that was from an entirely different continent. With a pulse of chakra the folder was sealed into the matrix etched on to his arm. Right now he had a mission, and time was of the essence.

'Still can't believe I'm going back home so quickly. I just got here. Talk about a buzzkill eh?' The Nakamura head mused about the details of the mission. Personally, he would've preferred to see Atsushi as a Kage rather than Soruto. But the latter had the advantage of fame and power which greatly helped propel him to the seat. As soon as Kurai left the classroom his bodied vanished in a blur en route to the village train-station. Kurai reached the station not too long afterwards and sighed, he would probably be waiting for a while unless his genin had storage scrolls. He expected a bit more out of his co-instructor however.

With a puff of smoke the folder was in his hands once more as went to sit down on a bench. "Ma, Why can't life ever be simple?" The former ANBU said out loud lazily as he began to read more about his team, and the mission they were entrusted with.

Kirara's Home

Ki... ... s....

Kir... ...a...

"Kirara-San! Wake up already!"

Eyes slowly beginning to open, Kirara slowly began realizing the words being spoken angrily toward her.

"I said to wake up! Sheesh! How many times are you going to do this!?"

"Ah... Mor...ning... Blech..." Kirara mumbled.

"How many times do I have to tell you to not wake me up if I'm sleeping this late...?" Kirara said in a tired voice. "You should know by now that I rarely go to sleep until 8:30 in the morning, so just zip your lips and let me sleep..."

Eyes closing, and blanket being pulled overhead, Kirara began drifting back asleep until suddenly, she suddenly was flung up from her bed, spinning sideways a few times before landing flat against the ceiling, back hitting the little light that rested above her bed.

"You don't have time to be sleeping though! You've gotta get to your meet-up location in less than ten minutes, yet here you are, still in your pajamas acting like you've got nothing to do with the world!"

Falling face-first back on the bed after her moment up on the ceiling, held of course by her own Chakra, Kirara rolled off the bed and walked on over to the sink just across the room.

"If anyone's late for anything, it's you learning not to sneak into a girl's room while they sleep, Riku. And what meet-up location...? I don't recall signing up for any dates or lousy missions," Kirara said without a care in her voice for the fact she was probably about to be late for something.

"You seriously don't even... You even read the letter Sensei left you an hour ago! It's sitting open right next to your freakin' bed!"

"Ohhh.... That thing... I thought it was the invitation to Sachi's birthday party next week. She said she was going to leave the invitation here..."

Slamming his hand to his forehead, Riku sighed. "Just get ready... I don't know the details of whatever it is Sensei's sending you to do, but I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for telling Sensei that you, despite being the first of our year to become a Chunin, couldn't even make it to a meet-up with another team for a simple little mission."

"Alright then... Just know that if I can't function properly this mission because of the injury I just sustained to my back, you're being held responsible," Kirara stated, having gone from childish and sleepy to serious and dark in tone. "Now if you don't mind, I'd prefer not have a guy in my home while I change clothes," Kirara said as she quite literally kicked the guy out the only door the place had to offer.

Really though... Just what's going on here in Konoha...? I managed to get some of what the Jonin were discussing this morning, but all it did was leave me with even more questions than answers... Now all of a sudden, this mission with another team...

8:00 AM

Rooftop Near Ninja School

"... Urgent Announcement... ...Kage... Assassin... ...Last night... 1:00 am... Lured..."

I wonder what's going on...

"...Doesn't end... ...Database... ...Secured... Intelligence... Classified..."

Something was stolen...

"Imposter... Three documents... Contents... Cannot tell... ...Jinchuriki... Hokage's corpse..."

Jinchuriki are involved... Wait, the Hokage's dead...? Exactly what's going on right now?

Pausing a moment, Kirara closed her eyes and deactivated her Byakugan.

Things are about to get rather hectic around here... I should get going, before they find out that I was spying on them...

Leaning backwards, Kirara began falling from the top of the building in which she sat, close enough to the ninja school to see inside the classroom of their meeting with her Byakugan. Passing by a large wire, Kirara grabbed on momentarily, swinging herself around and leaping to a nearby building a little ways farther from the school, jumping straight through an open window and into her small little home.

8:50 AM

Two scrolls hanging on the right side of her waist, a straight-edged Katana in her left hand, and a tool-filled bag thrown over her back by her right hand, as well as a flat, round tool pouch on her left leg, Kirara walked casually across some of the lines and wires all over Konoha, as well as across numerous rooftops and windowsills to head toward her meet-up location. Arriving rather shortly to the location the letter from her Sensei had specified, as well as some minor details about the mission already in her head, the Chunin simply found a small and secluded space to sit inside of, away from where people would notice her while she made sure she had everything with her.

Sword... Scrolls... Wire pouch with extra wires inside... Inside the bag now, we have a plethora of Shuriken, three Fuma Shuriken, extra throwing needles in case the supply in my left sleeve runs out... Then Ninja Info Cards in both the secret pocket in my right sleeve as well as the secret pocket inside my shirt, left-side of my chest... Alright, all here...

"Now I wait for the rest of the team to show up so I can introduce myself to everybody at once, keep it a lot easier on me..."

~Santeru Ishumari~

Santeru stirred slightly from his slumber aboard the train inbound for the Hidden leaf, shadows ran rapidly over his face as the train rushed rapidly through the forest surrounding the village. Giving a light groan Santeru moved his head raising it up as his eyes adjusted to the dim first class cabin he was put in when initially boarding. His cloak lay adjacent from him on the bench the steel of the kunai lined cloth glinted with every ray of sunshine that slipped through the leaves and through the window. Running his fingers lightly through his hair and standing he attempted to stave off the drowsiness that clung to him form his nap, he felt warm and dazed almost enjoying the serenity but that was quickly interrupted as the train came to a slow halt inside the Hidden leaf's train station. A knock was heard at his cabin door to which Santeru opened casually, an ANBU stood patiently at attention nodding when Santeru opened the door. "Sir we've arrived." Santeru simply waved dismissing the ANBU who began walking down the hall after completing his task.

Grabbing his cloak and placing it over his shoulders Santeru exited the cabin making his way to the exit as other passengers disembarked from the train. Stepping of the train Santeru scanned the crowd carefully which primarily consisted of young tourists from neighboring countries coming to visit freely after the war. Fumbling around in his pockets he found a briefing note from the staff hear at the Hidden leaf telling him to urgently come and escort the up and coming class of genin to their first mission in the Land of Lightning. Santeru himself wasn't entirely keen on coming but showing cooperation in this still tense time was beneficial for both sides, he couldn't exactly complain as it meant he was able to leave the stuffy tower that he resided in while leading. Snapping out of his head Santeru's gaze settled on an individual he recognized but wasn't exactly thrilled to see, one of the war heroes and fiercest fighters produced in the Land of lightning Kurai. Studying the former ANBU closely Santeru realized that the Jonin leading this squad into the Land of Lightning was Kurai.

Approaching slowly Santeru gave an amused smile as he stood next to Kurai "It's been a little while hasn't it?" Santeru said calmly his baritone carrying out over nearby groups who only continued about their business "I doubt they needed to call me here with you leading these young genin into our land."

Matsuda

An awkward silence filled the room; Many didn't know what to make of it. Some Konoha shinobi were in grief, others simply just disbelief. Having gone through an entire war under Soruto's command, all Matsuda could do was just stare at the table in front of her. No tears left her eyes, no obvious signs of grief. Just a blank expression filled with disdain, and eyes that tentative bounced around with impatience. In her heart she was screaming to find out more of what happened, yet she knew there would be no point. Soruto was dead, and now they must move on. One of Kaito's Subordinates slid her a scroll containing her mission, and she knew it was time to go.

Collecting her things, Matsuda left the building, though on the way out her and Kaito exchanged glances. Kaito simply nodded to her, signalling that he knew what she was going through. She grinned back with a convincing smile, though both Kaito and her knew she wasn't actually happy. Soruto may not have been a textbook leader, but he still was a leader. Matsuda did not agree with everything he did, but she still obeyed and grew sentimental of her blonde-haired leader. Right now though she couldn't show her emotion, none of the jonin could, as it was still a secret to the rest of the village.

A brief stop at her home, and Matsuda packed her things. Her home was neat and tidy, much like she was. There were few pictures, and not a lot of clan symbolism. With her bag full of her needed gear, which was just an extra pair of clothes, some food, tools, and more relatively light things, she sat on her bed and stared at herself in the mirror. At the very corner was a small picture; out of place from the rest of the room. Who exactly the picture was of was hard to tell, no one recognizable to anyone but herself. Reaching out, she picked the picture off the mirror and wiped the dust away, before putting it to her chest and closed her eyes; There was tears building around them, and one even trailed down the side of her cheek, though she quickly wiped it away. Her breathing was a lot less steady.

Why were times so cruel?

Picking herself up, she grabbed her back, threw it over her shoulders, and locked up her home. In a world advancing as quick as this one, she couldn't afford to be stuck in the past. She headed over to the village gate, stationed herself next to the wall, and sat down. She patiently waited for her students with a smile.

Kita

Kita let out a large yawn as she tied her hair for the morning. Never one to be much of a morning person, getting moving was pretty difficult. She had to meet her new instructor, whoever that might be, right at 9. In otherwords, she didn't have much time to mope around. She slid open the door leading to the rest of the Hyuga compound, a very royal looking building, where most of the Hyuga resided. Extra emphasis on most, as there were some who were not grateful for their heritage and instead decided to parade around Konoha learning inferior techniques all because she wants to be rebellious. Yet never mind that, the cool morning hit Kita's fair skin, and slowly she began to wake up, immediately being greeted by servants, just the way she liked it.

"Good morning, Kita." Most would say as they passed her while she walked out of the compound.

Her journey to the Academy where the teams would be posted was short, and normal like usual. Some boy or two that she was beginning to know from the Academy would walk up beside her and start talking, and she would keep the conversation going in some manner.

"I hope we're in the same squad, Kita!" One of them joyfully explained.

Kita just flashed a grin, "Hopefully." She replied in a sly manner. Getting moving had nulled down the excitement, and now she felt an extreme focus toward their destination. At the moment she felt focused, and happy. She was finally heading off into the world, and showing her strengths as a hyuga. She was going to show them all once and for all just what she was capable of. Passing around the corner, she found her way to the Academy. Gently she nudged her way through the crowd, saying things like "Excuse me," or "Sorry!" until she saw the list.

Her eyes skimmed down the list through all the teams, until they locked onto where her name was and....

Co-Instructor: Kirara Hyuga

Students: Kita Hyuga

Kita's face dropped, eyes trembling with anguish "Co-Instructor?!" She muttered out in shock. "K-" She stumbled...

"What is it Kita?" One boy asked.

"Yeah your acting kinda weird!" A nearby girl asked.

"KIRARA?!!" She screamed in anger, making all those around her jump.

The crowd surrounding her all went quiet from the violent cries of the angered Hyuga. Kita bit down on her lip to contain herself, but it wasn't working very well. "Of all the teams..." She grunted out of her throat. "You ended up in mine...."

Clenching both fists, Kita turned herself around and stomped out of the crowd, which parted like the red sea. Even the boys that traveled with her didn't dare follow her at this moment as tons of incoherent ramblings and curses left her mouth about her sister. How did she even get to be a Chunin this early? I've seen middle aged woman at the grocery store move better than she does!

Her trip back home was a long one, filled with much pouting and cursing. When she arrived home she began to pack her bags, violently thrashing gear into a backpack as she tried to make sense of things. This wasn't right, just what even was a co-instructor? With a sigh, Kita bitterly put her bag over her shoulder, re-positioning her bow and her white hair in the process. Acting out like this wouldn't earn her any favors with her new instructor, just suck it up and get it over with. Maybe her sister would die on the mission or something like that, so it might not be a complete loss.

"Be careful out there now Kita." Her servant said as she opened the door for Kita.

Kita rolled her eyes "You too." she growled in a sarcastic tone, leaving for the train station.

The walk helped calm her down, and did give her some rational thoughts. At this point she wasn't yelling or pouting, but was just annoyed.

A few minutes passed, and Kita arrived to the train station. In front of her was what looked to be her sensei, a younger looking guy who was definitely an adult. First thing she spotted on him was his white hair, this cheered her up slightly and even made her grin slightly. Looks like she already had something in common with her sensei. She could tell Kirara was close, but she wasn't going to say anything. Kita wondered if she even noticed her, or was she too high on her personal throne?

"Why hello. I'm Kita!" She said in a slightly joyous tone.

But there was a man next to Sensei Kita didn't notice first. He was extremely tall, and pale. Very unnerving...who was he? Kita tried not to stare but...with an individual with such an odd appearance it was hard. Being a gifted sensory shinobi, Kita could sense an overwhelming amount of chakra coming off of him...probably the highest chakra level she had ever sensed. That feeling, just being in the presence of something like that made her forget everything around her, even Kirara. This individual...who was he?

And why was he SO damn creepy?!

"Uh. Hello to you too." She said in an unnerved tone to Santeru, not knowing who this was.

Kurai Nakamura

His ears perked when the sound of a train approaching the station made itself known. 'A bit early?....Wait...' It was coming into the statement from the north. Not the south, by the time the train was visible, he was certain it was coming from the Land of Lightning.Passengers both Shinobi and Civilians alike departed from the train and he was about to return his full attention back to his files when he noticed another individual coming off the train out of his peripherals.

'I didn't even entertain the thought that my day could get worse so why is this happening to me?' He resisted the urge to sigh loudly as the reigning Raikaige walked towards him.  "It's been a little while hasn't it?"  'I was actually hoping for a far longer while...'  "I doubt they needed to call me here with you leading these young genin into our land." At that, Kurai finally opened his mouth  to speak. "They? Konoha actually arranged for you to escort me and my team back to the Land of Lightning? And you agreed?" Despite the limited information it really did not take long to see the flow chart of things. His tone was one of incredulity. First off he felt slighted and even a bit offended. Now he didn't exactly know if who ever came up with the mission felt that his skills were not sufficient enough, but that was the implication he was feeling.

Those feelings passed as soon as they had came. There was no use in getting infuriated or annoyed over it. It can't be changed now. Before Jonin could make a comment to Santeru. He sensed a chakra signature similar to the one he had sensed a while ago walking towards him. She greeted him rather jovially, but following her eyes he could tell she was slightly put off by the male next to him. 'I wonder what she's thinking on the inside..' Most sensors or those blessed with eyes that can see chakra have interesting reactions to those with enormous chakra reserves. "Hello Kita, my name is Kurai Nakamura, your sensei. And the male next to me is Santeru Ishumari, the current Raikage of Kumogakure. He'll be accompanying us back to the Land of Lightning."

~Santeru Ishumari~

Santeru simply let his neutral smirk reside on his face masking his thoughts and emotions as Kurai spoke, the obvious and metallic taste of blood in Santeru's mouth reassured him that Kurai still hates him. This was as natural as water flowing down hill, both men despite never sitting down and having a serious conversation had disliked each other from the moment they first met side by side on the battlefield. Allowing Kurai to finish his statement about the Hidden Leaf's contact of himself Santeru chuckled shaking his head slightly side to side "To be fair, accompanying you is not my only reason for being here. Word is the Hokage was assassinated last night." With convenient timing a young genin began to approach allowing Santeru to quickly swipe that bit of information under the metaphorical rug as to avoid having to explain how he came across this but of information. But Kurai being a previous member of the ANBU and always critical of him, Santeru knew he wouldn't just let that go.

Santeru's sinister grin quickly went to a puzzled and almost amused expression as the young Genin's own face went through so many different phases it was almost as though he saw all emotions in an instant. With a low chuckle Santeru bowed slightly before raising his head turning to face the young genin, he could feel her gaze rapid observe his chakra points and his aura with a soft tone Santeru spoke "You could at least try to hold back that look of shock, you're gonna make me blush." Rubbing the back of his neck Santeru actually felt a twinge of embarrassment "I can't be that creepy..." He said a false guise of shame in his voice as he hid behind his mask.  His sinister smile hidden behind his collar he thought he would play a game with Kita, he let loose just briefly the blood lust saved over from the war. The hair raising storm of chakra, the crackling fires of Matabi and the male-storm of lightning from his own chakra. In a sense for a brief tenth of a second Santeru's nature could be seen only by the sensory. Then with a warm and now exposed smile he bent down just a bit and looked the young girl in her eyes "Hello Kita, as Kurai said I am Santeru Ishumari current Raikage of Kumogakure. I'm sure we'll get along just fine." With that Santeru straightened up turning his gaze back to Kurai "So how many are accompanying us back?" he said curiously.

It was the same routine everyday. Whether or not he was waking up to a good day or a bad day, everyday he woke up at home it was the same procedure. Wake up, shower, and perform general hygiene. After that the male clad himself in a towel and walked over to a section of his room. On a platform were two pictures surrounded by lit candles. One of woman with cream colored skin, long dark hair and yellow eyes. And one of a man with short dark hair and bright white hues. Everyday for the past seven years he would come here at this exact time and lay himself before the motionless photos. He would never talk, just meditate and reflect in front of what was closest thing he could come to replicating his parents. It was the same routine everyday. "I'm finally going to become a shinobi. Aunt Hirakei thinks I should've graduated earlier but she also opposed the clan being pulled out the of war so what does she really know?" The words flowed from his mouth and he couldn't stop. What were normally crisp and precise pronunciations came out in awkward and hurried bunches. About the most random things too. From what he had for dinner four days ago, the time he burned twenty of his tenketsu,or when he decided to start learning medical ninjutsu. But when It became apparent what exactly the Hyuga was doing, he stopped abruptly in the middle of one of his tales and fell silent for many minutes before he spoke once more. "Mother....Father....I...I really wish you both were here right now."

And thus for the first time in seven years, Hachiro Hyuga wept.

It was around seven forty-five when he finally left the clan compound for the academy. When he reached the institution, many people were crowded along the walls. Forgoing all the nonsense, his byakugan was activated. Quickly finding and zooming on the team assignments, he narrowed his eyes before sighing. 'I just got here and now I have to go back home. Kami I hate backtracking....' Quickly making his way back to compound, he began to sift through his drawers and ponder his new teammates. 'I don't know who this Shunsui person is and his surname isn't familiar...' Hachiro pulled out a red scroll and unsealed it with a hand-sign and a pulse of chakra. 'Kaori Ueda however, I've seen her around. She's more than competent. Curious to see the famed bloodline with my Byakugan to be honest..' He did a check of all things that were in the scroll. From tenting equipment to sets of clothes. Once he was sure everything was in place, he sealed it again and secured it to his person. 'But for my sensei to be The Prodigy...' Talk about lucky. Well versed in all three of the major shinobi arts and then some? Plus she was a doujutsu user? Probably the best he could've hoped for. With a sigh he stood up, and proceeded to leave his home for the second time that day.

When he reached the village gate, he saw his teacher sitting and no one else in her near proximity. Walking over to her he gave a polite bow and a soft smile before speaking. "Hachiro Hyuga, reporting in."

There it was. The one goat he has Bern following since the break of dawn. This goat has been avoiding Shunsui for hours, escaping his grasp time after time. Crouching down behind a tree, the orange headed teen looked beyond the canopy of the trees, begging the sun to give him just an extra spurt of speed to catch this phantasmal goat.

Shunsui peeked from behind the tree for just a second, unintentionally making direct eye contact with the elderly goat just a few meters out, he was charged with catching. It's rectangular pupils pierced a hole straight through Shunsui's soul, leaving intense signs of murderous activities. Shunsui swallowed harder than he had ever swallowed before, believing it was him time. He adjusted his body so he was hugging the tree, assessing a perfect route so the goat would be able to be caught. Shunsui took a deep breath and finally broke eye contact, fear creating the false thoughts of the goat turning on him and devouring his brains.

He broke for a full sprint, coincidentally the instant the goat looked away, giving him the split second that would change his entire day. After a few dodges and a couple faces being broken by trees, a final leap of faith led the young man to victory, grabbing the old goat by his hind legs, pulling him towards his chest, securing his prey.

A few minutes later, Shunsui was back at his foster home, a farm in the village hidden in the leaf, a place he would feel useful in the advanced society the village had compared his own. The owner of the small farm, his foster father, greeted Shunsui with a grin, not able to believe that the teen was able to catch the runaway goat. A loud and amiable greeting could be heard from villages away, including laughter, and friendly insults. Shunsui's mentor broke their celebratory meeting with a more serious tone, "Your first mission has been sent. You're ready to be a man now, son."

"I was born ready, Sumi." Shunsui replied with a fake and over exaggerated laughter, followed with slamming his fists on his hips. Sumi let the genin prepare for his meeting with his team, handing him the scroll and leaving him be.

Moments later, the genin was already on his way, never hearing of his teammates, only his prodigal jonin leader. He was stopped by the doors of the farmhouse by his mentor. "Come back alive... or else I'll kill you, kid. You're good. Aaand you have plenty of work to do on the farm."

"Good thing I love doing farm work, only reason to live for me." Shunsui replied as a matter of factly. They shook forearms and parted for who knows how long. The genin had a small sack wrapped onto a sash across his torso, Shunsui was able to go for a while longer without food than a normal person. Being photosynthetic had it's perks.

Upon reaching the village gates, Shunsui saw a woman, Matsuda, he had seen her a few times in the village, but the other genin, he had never seen before. Shunsui pulled his hair into place, short, straight, and spiked to the left. He began to near his team and greeted them with a smile and a loud, "You must be my team! Shunsui Taiyo, reporting for duty." He saluted them, and nearly grabbed Hachiro's forearm and shook it firmly, forgetting his own strength. He moved immediately to Matsuda, bowed and repeated the gesture, smiling in the face of an idol. "Pleasure."

Matsuda

"Oh my!" She let out with a smile at the site of gifts and two bowing students. Each of these students were unique in their own manner. One a Hyuga, the other a Ueda, and another...from a much more interesting clan. According to his file his clan was solar powered in a sense, having great abilities during the day yet lacking them at night. That probably explained why he walked around with barely any clothes on; Or at least she hoped. He looked comfortable and having fun still though, but she wondered how long that would last once they arrived at the mist.

"All three of you kind and well mannered?"

She let out a chuckle as she picked up the pack of Chocolate. "Lovely. My name is Matsuda Uchiha, and I can assure you the pleasure is mine."

Throwing her pack around her shoulder and packing the chocolates inside, for a brief moment her eyes trailed over into Shinsui's "So long as you keep up the attitude, that is,".

Zipping up her pack, once again she slid them back over her shoulders, and walked closer to the three. She kneeling down on one knee to be eye level with her students, she gave each one a firm look over, taking note of things like actual height, estimated weight, cuts, anything not on the bio.

First was Harchiro. He looked to be roughly 5'10, and around 130-140 pounds. A lightweight in otherwords, but then again most Hyuga don't have much of a frame. Looking much like any ordinary Hyuga, with a very royal set of features, Matsuda didn't need to look him over that closely to get a good guess of his style. Probably very taijutsu focused like most Hyuga, then probably throwing something else in as a mix, though there really wasn't a good way to tell just what that was.

Next she turned to Kaori. At a glance it seemed she was the shortest of the group, being only about 5'6 and probably weighing around 110-125 pounds, she wasn't as built for brawling as the other two were. If she were to put her money on it, Kaori proably liked to focus on range more than anything else; Which is the smart way of fighting in most situations, but Matsuda could always be wrong about her fighting style.  "I do love your hair. It's very pretty," She added in during in her final seconds of examination.

Finally there was Shunsui. Probably the oddball of the group if anything else, he stood average height for his age. But what was NOT average was his physique which he so proudly flaunted. It didn't take much for her to determine that this boy probably had very little problems with up close and personal fights. Confidence radiated off this boy just by the way he stood, and whether that was good or bad could be up for debate.

Finally she stood back up on both feet, and adjusted the hilt of her sword so that her backpack would not interfere.

"As you all probably know we're going to have to skip the traditional first-meeting sort of deal. We have a mission to do, and a train to catch. Please follow me!"

With that said the always charming Matsuda turned away from her squad and began to walk toward the very busy train station. It was only a minutes walk, as they were literally right outside of the village gates. It didn't take long for the group to enter the station.

In the distance a bell could be heard ringing, and an intercom shouting out:

"All aboard for Train 432; Now seating. Destination Sunset Bay."

"That's our train." Matsuda called out, only a peering over her shoulder as she stood in front of the train entrance "I'll tell you all what: while we're on the train I want you all to tell me something about yourself. I don't really care what, but I'm not sitting in silence over this long train ride."

With that said, Matsuda entered and took her seat, handing the conductor a special ticket signalling they were shinobi on a mission and were not to be bothered. Setting her bag down neatly next to her, Matsuda stretched her feet out across all adjacent seats and leaned her back against the window, resting both hands behind her back. Patiently she waited for her team to enter, debating what might be the best time to give them the news.

Hachiro Hyuga

His first impression of Shunsui was interesting to say the least.. The orange haired shinobi was pretty big and that was reflected in his grip strength. Hachiro found his arm having a slight stinging sensation after that pseudo-handshake. 'Such a seemigly serious mission already? Then again they told us to pack for a while for a reason...' That was odd to say the least. When they were all at the station, his eyes narrowed at the destination their train was heading for. 'Sunset Bay? That's near the eastern coast..' He remembered that much from his own mental map of the Land of Fire. They all boarded and Hachiro took a seat across the famed Kuinochi and up against the window before speaking out.

"I like pushing my limits and acquiring knowledge of any kind." Constant improvement was something he always preached. To stagnate as a shinobi was not only waste, but could also spell death. "Recently I've been working on medical ninjutsu, my mother was one and I'd like to think learning the skill both brings me a bit closer to her and also can help my team in the field. And it's also less embarrassing than constantly seeing my clan doctor for any screw ups when I train.." That last part of Hachiro's statement was said a bit more quietly and in a bashful tone as he recalled a more than respectable amount of times that particular scenario had occurred.

Yūbina stirred to life in her bed, letting out a satisfyed yawn as her eye's fluttered open to read the same motivational poster she'd hung on the ceiling so many months ago. Hang in there, ki- Wait... where was the poster? The girl shot up, a look of worry on her face. She hadn't moved it, had she? It was there, everyday, all day, no exceptions! Her gaze flew around the room, judging each object with an intense glare that seemed to ask 'you did it, didn't you?'First the rocking chair her mother had left behind, then her teddy bear, alarm clock ringing out an earsplitting screech, fridge- Alarm clock? Yūbina's facial features twisted and contorted to show fear as she flailed out of bed, not bothering to wrangle with the pain of hitting the floor. She was late! She'd slept right through her alarm clock, which had been set for 7:00AM, and now it was 7:45AM. Who could sleep through the constant ringing of an alarm clock and then not notice its presence even after waking up?

The girl snatched up her mission attire, sliding into the jumpsuit as she slid two pieces of bread in her toaster and ran to the bathroom, pants around her ankles. She combed her hair and fixed her toothbrush before rushijg out again. Forget a shower, she had to GO. She jammed her toast which she'd practically charred in her hurry and choked it down all the way to Amegakure's trainstop. She hadn't brought anything with her, but who  cared? Everything she needed nature would provide her with. At the trainstop, she double checked what little gear she'd brought along with her and nodded in triumph. No trinket, no matter how small and insignificant, had been left behind! Pebble's and dice and pencil's littered the inside of her pockets, aswell as a few other items. She even had a kitchen timer in the bottom most compartment. She kept her true weapons, however, in the pocket on her uppermost thigh. Inside were ten shuriken and a single kunai, just about all she could hold inside without causing the pocket to burst at the seams. Then there was her rapier, fastened to her left hip, alongside her specialized kunai.

When the train arrived, Yūbina dashed onto it before anyone else to secure her seat. The trains had little space to begin with and most were left standing. No such bad luck for Yūbina, who'd landed a window seat with an amazing view. Time seemed to fly and before she knew it the landscape had transitioned to that of Lightning country to Fire. Lush green plains and farmers hard at work, tilling their land. It was strange, seeing it all now. It was her very first time in a foerign country and she was enjoying it so far! Soon, the train pulled into the station at Konohagakure, shinobi and civilians alike flooding out with Yūbina among them. Stepping onto the platform, the girl took everything in as she searched for the Leaf headband symbol admist the sea of bodies. Looking up to the stations clock, Yūbina was shocked to see it was 9:00AM. Had it really taken such a long time to get to Konohagakure? Had her team already left? Stepping out of the crowd, Yūbina flashed her headband in an attempt to get her teams attention. She had no better idea and just hoped they were around.

Bad Moon

---

Unmarked Point Outside The Hidden Leaf

"There's a bad moon on the rise," mused a lone figure as it stared upward towards the full moon. The pitch black, eerie, and deathly silent forest was only disturbed by the cackling flames of a bonfire that lit the immediate surroundings in a blood-orange hue. All documentation, records, and reports that Konohagakure had gathered on the infamous assassin known only as the Wolf burned to smoldering ashes as the figure took the time to read through each paper and scroll before tossing them into the inferno. The assailant wasn't being paid for this endeavor, no, this was out of self preservation. The Wolf couldn't afford a village getting too close to learning more about his true intentions.

"I know I wasn't the only one," the figure, whose mask was casting a long, wolf-like shadow across the trees, appeared to be talking to himself. "There was another that broke into the Leaf's intelligence building. One that clearly doesn't have my level of experience evading the detection fields used by the Leaf."  At this revelation the sound of rustling and howling could be heard as the lone figure sitting cross legged in front of the bonfire resumed his silence.

The Wolf seemed to take his time pondering back on his experience of breaking into the intelligence building. Moreover, there was the feeling of dread taking over the figure as he looked up at the moon. Something was clearly off and the figure could sense it within his very bones. He suspected this would, however, likely be in his favor. If his guess was right then the last thing the Leaf would be focusing on come morning would be the missing files of an Assassin that vanished without a trace.

As the small fire died out there was no time to stay for the night. There were places to be.

Train Enroute to the East Coast

As sunlight filtered through the windows of the otherwise dark cargo-containing segment of the train the lone stowaway's thoughts drifted towards the Mist. His personal business had been taken care of and now it was time to take on another client. Word was that there was someone within the Mist looking for an assassin. There would always be people who paid for the demise of others. This client, however, was unique in that he was specifically trying to find the Wolf. This train would be the fastest way of reaching the coast so that a ship could be boarded towards Kirigakure. What Izaya discovered after that was up to him as to whether or not he takes the case.

Decim...

The lone figure shook his head at the mere thought.  It would be a long trip and he couldn't afford his mind getting clouded now.

"This is gonna be so fun!! how could I possibly lost this attitude! The whole team's here and we are going to save the world! I am pumped!" Shunsui said on their way to the train station. His attitude would not dampen on their mission. He enjoyed the sun on his face and couldn't wait to get in some action.

Once he heard their assignment for the train ride, Shunsui didn't know what to say, especially after Hachiro spoke. Shunsui didn't know anything too special, his humility slightly taking over. He didn't know any medical ninjutsu, nor was he a well known member of a well known clan like the Uchiha or the Hyuga. He sat next to Hachiro so the girls could sit next to each other, just a small polite gesture. "Well I'm good at farming, I guess. Oh and I guess I'm good in the sun. That's my clan's Kekkai Genkai. We are different than other shinobi. Fun stuff." Shunsui laughed nervously and tried to defer the conversation to the more reserved teammate, Kaori. "What about you?"

~Much earlier in the morning~

Four o'clock in the morning in nothing but his black tank top and green short shorts, while no alarm rang to wake up Saito from his sleep he had gotten up at this exact time and with the excitement of his very first mission as a 'Shinobi' and he was looking forward to witnessing the things Shinobi are exactly capable of. Flipping himself upside on his bed Saito repeated the same morning process he had grown use to for years, which was simply washing himself, brushing his teeth and getting ready for the day by adorning his green jacket and gathering all of the gear he could think he would need in his backpack before getting ready to lead out the door. While it was still early in the morning, and Saito intending on using his habits of waking up early as a means to train himself further - besides there was something Saito had been working on for a while and wanted to test it out on something inanimate first.  Before leaving though, Saito made sure to pick up the last thing he would be keeping on his person for the full extent of their mission; it was quite literally a fishing rod but not only that, it was also the very weapon of choice for Saito when it came to combat, slipping it into the side straps of his backpack and resting it there. Saito was ready to leave his apartment and start his day.

"I wonder what Old man Senshi is doing right now? Probably hoping I don't make him look bad.." his head hung low for a moment and he winced after a few flashbacks before lifting his chin yet again and shouting out to the early morning sky

"DON'T WORRY I WON'T LET YOU DO SENSHI-SAMA!!"

4613147-6610257955-tumbl.png

After shouting out aloud and probably waking up everyone else in the other apartments beside his own, Saito leaped off a railing and landing back down to the surface before running off into the distance of Konohagakure. Once making it to the Village main gate and leaving, Saito walked only twenty feet or so into the forest outskirts until reaching a small clearing and a few large boulders that Saito decided this place would be perfect for the time being. Taking off his backpack and dropping it to the floor with a loud thud, opening up the bag and taking out four stacks of weights and lifting them out with relative ease into the air with a slight smile on his face. Clearly impressed with what he was holding.

"Senshi-Senpai always comes up with the best ideas for training." he said under his breath as he rolled up his sleeves and took off his green laced boots, placing the weights on all four of his 'main limbs' and restricting his freedom of movement tenfold. However, since it was something he started doing for a few months already now - being given the training method from the head of his Clan Saito had already gone through the process of getting use to it. So when he finished strapping on the weights, rolling down his sleeves and putting his laced boots back on Saito began to stretch slightly before snapping into a fighting pose and activating what Saito and his peer Clan members would call 'ten', causing a layer of what seems to be flaring aura and coating his entire body - all before completely imbuing his right fist with this 'ten' or odd Chakra. And as his fist seemed to flare up for a moment, it had already died down again with Saito under clear physical strain. After trying this a few times and taking a breather, Saito continued his normal training - and practiced his taijutsu on the large boulders, hitting them with all of his might and continuously driving himself to go harder and faster, all while adapting to the weights strapped to each of his limbs.

~Back to the present, a few hours later~

After spending several hours on intense physical training, once he realized that he was already running late despite how early he was prepared. And all that was left from the boulders were shattered rocks covering the area blood stains accompanying them. The blood was dripping from Saito's knuckles and he stood in the one spot for some time panting, and calming his nerves before finding a nearby pond to wash off his bloodied hands. Now he gave himself time to take a breather, he was also given time to freak out about his situation of being late, and hurried his things together so fast that he completely forgot to remove the weights strapped to his limbs and instead ran off back into the direction of Konohagakure. After going through the main gate and taking a few turns, it didn't take long for Saito to arrive to the train station - with people buzzing around practically everywhere on the platform he struggled to find where he was supposed to be, but with a deep breath he stepped into the buzzing crowd and searching around for any clear signs or hints of where he had to go.

But if it was one thing, Saito's observational skills were on another level so finding what he was looking for didn't prove to be much of a challenge for Saito at all. Approaching a small gathering, the main thing attracting him most being the intense feeling of pressure he felt from one of the individuals there who dressed in long black attire and pale skin but unlike others around him, it didn't seem to really bother Saito and instead only raised his curiosity of the strange man, getting closer he also overheard talk from him asking if anyone else would be accompanying them; and it was there that Saito decided to interfere by barging in and introducing himself.

"Saito!! I'm going to be helping with the escort to the Land of Lightning. It's very nice meeting you all!" While he referred to those around them, with his stare focused on Santeru it would have been quite obvious to anyone with half a mind that Saito had a growing interest in Santeru and having a complete sense of ignorance when it came to the nature of Santeru. And after introducing himself Saito raised his hand towards Santeru as if looking to shake his hand.

Train Station

-- Get out of here...

-- You don't belong...

-- You're no Hyuga...

-- You're a monster...

-- Ungrateful little...

Eyes opening, Kirara had finished thinking deeply about the past, in particular when she left the Hyuga compound, becoming a Genin two full years before Kita. The real irony of it all though, is the fact that their roles were pretty opposite to what Kita believed them to be. Kirara was the one in charge. She was the one the Hyuga household saw as the heir of the clan. Kita was the one who was a monster in the eyes of the Hyuga because of that white hair. Yet at the same time, she wasn't treated like one. Kita was treated well, pampered as part of the Main Family. Kirara meanwhile sat there, ridiculed as a monster, someone who didn't belong... It was ironic; Kirara's abandoning of the Hyuga is potentially why Kita's the one treated so well. Every time Kirara thought about it, this was the conclusion she came to; if she hadn't left, then Kita would be the one treated as she was, meanwhile she would be pampered like Kita; a disgusting life it would be to Kirara.

Though I suppose I wouldn't ever actually know how that life would be... After all, the only clue I have toward what it would be like is Kita, but I'm not Kita... She was... easily molded from the start, where as I was not one to conform to petty ideas placed in my mind by those of a clan even more so...

Exiting her small space, all gear checked off in her head, she approached the three out of the four from the team she would be working alongside for the next mission. Of course, Kita was someone whom she ignored out of the three seeing as there was no need to pay attention to a girl who'd soon be spouting pathetic insults at her, but the Jonin, alongside their little guest of a Kage, though... Those two would be interesting, and most certainly far better to learn from than the white-haired genin of the team.

"Hello, Yubina-San. Saito-San. Kurai-Sensei. Raikage-Sama," Kirara said politely, bowing to each person as she stated their names, though never bowing or stating the name of Kita. "I am Kirara, and I will be the team's co-instructor for this mission."

Pausing for a moment, mainly to give a little bit of a glare to Kita, though also for a little bit of dramatic effect, Kirara cleared her throat before continuing to speak.

"Now then, I think we should be headed on out so Sensei can tell us the reason behind this little mission of ours," Kita said calmly all the while hinting really strongly that she knew why. "I'm not obliged to say myself, after all. That would be a bit too out of line even for me, to disclose information from a secret, Jonin-only meeting."

Kurai Nakamura

"Two more. And one of them is already here."  Kurai stated in response to the Raikage's query. And soon enough the two did show, Yubina who he had to motion over the group after spotting her in the crowd and Saito, the rather energetic genin who exhumed positivity. Kirara on the other hand finally decided to reveal herself when all were assembled. As she introduced herself it did not take a genius in the art of body language to decipher that she held some sort of contempt towards her sibling. Omitting other the white haired Hyuga from greetings and even going so far as to glare directly at the her. 'I'll leave this most likely childish grudge alone for now but as soon as it presents itself to be a problem...' It was getting nipped in the bud before it could develop further.

His gaze on Kirara turned bland at her last statement and he found himself resisting the urge to roll his eyes. "She's right. I'll inform you all in our compartment. Must say, wish my first mission was this interesting." He then turned towards Santeru and opened his mouth to speak once more. "Could you give me and my team a bit of alone time? I'd like to have a bit of a heart to heart with them after the debriefing,I'll get you when we're done. Thanks." In a slight sign of disrespect Kurai did not even wait for an answer before getting on the train, all four members of his team following suit.

It wasn't long before team twenty flooded into a compartment, when the final person walked in and the door was shut, Kurai spoke. "This may not personally affect all of you, given the different nationalities in this room but Hokage Soruto Uzumaki is dead. He appears to have died in combat in what was a very well planned assassination. As such a replacement Kage is needed and that's where we come in. Atsushi Masuno is the premier candidate for the position and he was last sighted in the Land of Lightning. We are to locate him, bring him back and we will also be working with Kumogakure intelligence so we at least have a fighting chance and aren't working with scraps .This is a B-ranked mission and as such the chances for combat are decently high. This being said, I will not handhold you. Each of you will be expected to do your part."

He paused for a brief moment and amber hues swept over each of the individual genin. "You are now all shinobi and this mission is just about most fitting situation of being thrown into the fire outside of the chuunin exams or all out war a rookie genin can have." A small smile made it's way on to Kurai's visage and when he spoke next, it was in softer tones with a hint of amusement. "But at the same time, be proud that you got to this point in first place. I'm sure each of you have worked hard to get to this stage and it is because of that I'll be rewarding you." His index finger was held up to all of those gathered. "We're about to do official introductions where I want your full name, place of origin, and motivation to becoming a shinobi. Along with that you each get to ask me one question and I swear to answer honestly and to the fullest extent-unless I can't answer your question due to classified reasons. Choose wisely and if you have a question about the mission, which obviously doesn't count, hold it until your own turn at the end. Now, why don't you start us off Yubina?"

~Santeru Ishumari~

Santeru's mind simply raced away in thought, every extricating second of waiting for a response felt like a century. He could feel the electricity in his bones as it seemed event's were moving quickly and the last thing he wished to do was be stuck here with formalities, as much as he loved to express his own class this left the iron taste of blood in his mouth. He soon snapped back to reality as event's began to unfold one after another, first and foremost a young lad had approached him. Instead of a fear or anxiety filled paranoia the boy had curiosity burning in his eyes and racing through his synapses, smiling he grasped the boy's hand his hand connected and his significantly larger fingers wrapped around the whole of Saito's. The first thing he noticed was the impressive grip but secondly the very flames of will that emitted from him sparked Santeru's own curiosity "Interesting.." but he didn't have time to ponder his next move as Kurai rushed off his squad for a gathering, disappointed Santeru sighed as he was left standing amidst the bustling crowd of the train station. A soft a barely audible chuckle to himself gently escaped his throat realizing the intense amount of chakra and bloodlust he let off even if for a second opened up a glimpse to Kita of his very character and he was interested to find out her reaction but was patient.

But here Santeru was alone in the crowd observing the occaisonal disgusted glance which he only met back with a smirk, time froze once again just for a moment as Santeru's various scars up his torso burned intently. Sensing the slight change in wind pressure behind his head Santeru's right arm snapped up in response to catch whatever object was about to strike him, but alas he simply stopped himself smirking as a glass bottle struck the side of his head. Small cuts opened up pouring out blood down Santeru's cheek and head causing his jet black hair to wetly cling to his face "Damn head wounds bleed alot..." turning his gaze it settled on what appeared to be a wounded hidden leaf veteran standing defiantly in the crowd staring down the Raikage though obviously nervous. With an amused smirk Santeru's voice came out smooth and unwavering "Well old man, it make you feel better? Did it stop the pain?" he asked calmly watching the veteran begin a response and soon stopping himself he shook his head looking down at the ground. Santeur smiled rubbing the side of his head "I take it I dealt that injury? Killed your comrades? Burned your homestead? Trust me you're not the first person to come to me with that look. Want me to give whatever it is back? Because we both know that doesn't just happen, what's done is done and we have to live with that." As he was saying this he approached the man looking down at him as he trembled, Santeru's gaze was almost sadistic the intense killing gaze that he perfected over years of hardened combat. However he softened watching a young brother and sister come up to their father and stand in front of him, holding back tears they extended their arms in front of him attempting to block Santeru. Looking at them both Santeru sighed feeling the gaze of the now surrounding crowd he gave the man a handshake pulling him close for a half hug but this was not for sincere reasons, as he pulled the surprised man closer the Kunai lined cloth of his cloak could be felt pushing against the man, he swallowed heavily as Santeru pushed him away with a friendly smile before walking back towards the train.

Taking out a cigarette and using a basic fire jutsu Santeru took a deep drag holding the cancerous smoke before releasing it into the breeze watching it waft off into oblivion. The feel of the air rushing over his skin was nice but the serenity seemed false... something was coming.

@Anyone I may have missed

Kita

Kita did not choose to respond to the Raikage's remarks, as her palms became sweaty just being around him, and an uneasiness would settle in her stomach. Something about was just...off. His chakra levels were absolutely off the chart yet that wasn't it. It's as if he were hiding something but he wanted people to find it out. Maybe that's why he was confronting this team? Did he want something?

She boarded the train as instructed, and listened to what her sensei had to say.

A moment of silence overcame Kita as her new sensei broke the news. Hokage Soruto was dead? Assassinated? Who could do such a thing...and who even had the power to do so? Just thinking of these things made Kita's hand tighten to the cushion of her seat, and for a moment or two she became increasingly weary of the presence of the Raikage. None of her clan members liked Soruto especially, yet... she was still told to always respect him and that his word was law.

Furthermore, Kita couldn't help but feel troubled by the presence of her estrange sibling. Every now and then Kita would shoot her a glance or two, then quickly looking away. It had been roughly two years since she had last seen her, and it was like she was looking at a grey-eyed stranger. All she could feel in her heart was disdain for her twin, and only negative thoughts cycled through her mind. Right now she could hear everything her clan had said about Kirara in her head.

"Your sister is a traitor, Kita."

"She's not deserving of the Hyuga lineage."

"It's a shame a traitor is lined up to inherit the clan."

Just then she looked up and stared at her sister intently. Why does she inherit father's position? She's abandoned us, and made our name folly. She has no honor.

She looked away and at her sensei, masking her ill-feelings with a convincing smile as she listened to what else he had to say. The mission, that's right! She had almost forgotten about it completely thanks to the Raikage drama and the presence of her ungrateful sibling. From the sounds of it, they were actually looking for the replacement Hokage. Well, one thing was for certain. She'd never ever pictured her first mission being this interesting.

"My name is Kita Hyuga. I was born here in the Leaf, to the Hyuga clan."

She glared over to Kirara for a second, the smile on her face growing in a taunting manner. Then she looked each of her comrades in the eyes.

"My motivation for being a Shinobi is to bring honor to my clan's name all while doing the same for my village. I want to help people, and maybe one day I could inherit a position of power of some sorts so I may teach others to do the same."

"Now my question is not for you sensei, but rather for Saito. Are you native to Konoha? I don't mean this in a disrespectful way, but I don't believe I've ever heard of your clan before."

My legs... I can't... move... my legs...

"Somewhere around here... There it is!"

Bang!

"They're here!"

"They found us already!? Hurry up, let's go!"

"Hurry, before they show up!"

"Come on Misae, we have to go!"

"Idiot! Just leave her! She's dead anyway!"

"Hurry up and kill her then! We can't leave her there for them to interrogate!"

WHOOSH!

9:00 am

Kazekage Residence

"Kazekage-Sama! Kazekage-Sama! I've urgent news to report!"

Opening her eyes from the memory that had played through her head at least a hundred times in the past month, Misae sighed as yet another person had come to her office to annoy her with news of some sort. Just when she thought she could take a rest, she had to do even more work, having yet to even sleep the night before.

"Kazekage-Sama! Are you in there!?"

"Yes, I'm here, so come on in now!"

The Suna Ninja opening the door and walking in, he started rushing to the front of her desk all the while talking the whole way there.

"Kazekage-Sama! The Hokage! He's-"

Suddenly, Misae leaped from her desk, appearing swiftly behind the Ninja, right arm reaching back and holding him from the front of the neck.

"I know, I know... He's dead... "You" were just in here ten minutes ago with this very same news..."

Fingernails forming into claws, Misae swiftly pulled around, swinging him a full 180 to throw him out the office window as well as rip his throat to shreds before landing smoothly on the floor. With the Ninja dead mid-flight out the office, he was thrown out of his transformation to be revealed not as a Ninja of Suna, but an assassin dressed in all black, bearing a black rose tattoo on the right side of his neck as well as on his right sleeve.

rose-tribal-tattoo-photo-tribal-rose-tattoos-tribal-rose-tattoo-11134.jpg

So they're coming after me again... But those they're sending are... No, it's not unusual for them to send their strongest assassins... I used to be their strongest assassin, and currently I'm Kazekage... It makes sense they would send the strongest of the strong.

"To think they'd come straight into my office though, in broad daylight too... I'd best get down there, clear up any confusion as to why a guy just flew out my window all of a sudden. Although it's not like this is the first time, I suppose," Misae said as she scratched her neck.

Maeno,  Yūbina

The girl beamed having had her instructor notice her, the man waving to signal to her. Rushing over to the group with her excitement practically radiating off of her like an existing force, the girl took in their faces and pushed herself to remember their names. At her own academy, there'd been the information board set up that every newly promoted Genin had gone to for a transcript their teams. She had gone the day before the actual assignment, when the information board was still being raised, not wanting to get stuck in the horde of Genin and possibly miss her train. Despite this, she'd still been late and managed to be the last of her team to show up. Kurai Nakamura, Kirara Hyuga, Kita Hyuga, and Saito Hamada, the names popping into her mind as she came closer to them and began to notice their features. The first she person she noticed, the tan male with stark white hair, who'd been waving to her in the first place, was not only her instructor but the Land of Lightning's famous war 'hero', Kurai 'Death Dealer' Nakamura, the man who supposedly held the highest kill count of anyone in the Fifth Shinobi War.

She had one of the most fierce-some Kumogakure shinobi on her squad. Not many could make a statement like that!

After coming within a decent distance from the group, her sprint began a goofy stride accompanied by a widespread grin. Sensory ninja in the area would be able to feel an immense spiritual pressure coming from the unknowing girl as she came closer, most likely dwarfing their own many times over, although it seemed uncontrolled and ran rampant throughout her body. Compared to Santeru's power, however, it was just a minuscule marker on a large map. Still, to be able to be compared to his at all was impressive for a child that had no apparent markings or signs to tell they were a  jinchūriki. Having finally reached the group, the girl's attention was immediately turned to  Santeru and the massive pressure he exhibited, but fear forced her attention the other way. There weren't many things in this world that could truly scare her, but there was something unnerving and unreal about this man... Looking back to Kurai,  Yūbina simply nodded to the man before giving every a once over. At that point, the group was already being led into their private compartment on the train, where they were briefed on their mission and Konohagakure's current situation. The girl attempted to show compassion for the member's of her squad that came from Konoha, but she just couldn't. How did you feel sorry for the death of someone you never knew about?

Standing to her feet after being called out by Kurai, the girl coughed into her fist, butterflies filling her stomach. What to say, what to say... "Hello, everyone! My name is Yūbina and I hail from the Maeno clan of Amegakure. Er... I'm the only person in my clan, so... That's a thing. Anyways, my motivation for becoming a shinobi is that I thought being a ninja was really cooooool!" Saying these words out loud sounded  strange, but it was the best she could manage. She herself had no idea why she wanted to be a shinobi. In truth, she didn't even remember her days in the academy. Every memory of the past seemed so fuzzy when she thought about it, some a bit easier to determine than others. Listening to Kita's brief introduction of herself, the young girl puffed her cheeks out at the last bit, her mind filling with vile thoughts. Now more than ever she found herself wondering what had happened in her past to have made it so that she was the only living member. All these people with their busy clan houses and living people and loved one's to pass on their techniques... For a brief moment, she felt somewhat envious of the girl, but instead sat down and stared out the window, trying to drown the feeling out with other thoughts.

It didn't work.

Room For One More?

The Wolf

---

Cargo Containing Segment of Train 432

The countryside continued to pass by in a blur as Izaya lost himself in looking out the window. However, he was never one to let his guard down especially while stowing away on a train departing from a village he had just robbed information from. By the time the panel door was starting to move Izaya had long since known that a cargo inspector was on his or her way momentarily. It shouldn't be a problem of any extent.

Whistling ensued as the blonde cargo inspector quickly opened and closed the panel doors between rail cars and began her inspection. She couldn't of been more than twenty and it showed in how she tried to rush through the checklist she was writing off. As she combed through the various luggage and other materials being transported to Sunset Bay she finally stopped when she came upon a more bizarre item.

"You're not on the cargo list," the inspector muttered as she looked in absolute confusion towards what was sitting before her.

A wolf whose fur was entirely pitch black sat obediently right before the cargo instructor. The beast, even while kneeling, was still tall enough that its head was above the standing girl's waist. As the inspector questioned the creature's legitimacy the wolf rose its head in a noble manner showing a collar around its neck. There was clearly a marker of a service animal but the symbol was too faded to tell which of the Five Great Nations the animal belonged to.

"Not on the list," the girl spoke flatly after watching the wolf's display. The animal seemed to be clearly annoyed by such a response but the inspector went further. "If your owner doesn't take responsibility for you, then you're getting kicked off this train you mangy mutt."

There was a moment as the wolf seemed to raise up from its sitting position to consider something of a much darker intent. Then, instead, the animal rushed past the inspector at a speed much faster than what a beast that size had any right performing. The animal ran from train car to train car opening the panel doors with ease as it looked for something. It wasn't until one of the very last rail cars that the animal found what it was looking for.

There was what appeared to be a team of three Genin with a clear instructor overlooking them. More importantly, as the wolf burst into the train car there seemed to be friendly enough faces among them. Taking advantage of the opportunity the wolf approached either man he would claim as his owner and all but jumped in the seat right between Hachiro Hyuga and Shunsui Taiyo. The wolf's tail seemed to wag rather happily as the animal licked both of its new acquaintances.

Moments later the same female inspector, winded and out of breath ran in.

"Is that.. Is that your service animal? If not I'm going to enjoy kicking it off this train." she asked as she looked between the two Genin.

The dark figure looked to have just snapped out of some dream, and once he did proceeded to handshake Saito - the Raikage's hand being a considerably larger size than his own as the proceeded to shake hands, even for only a second Saito stared the man directly in his eyes as the thoughts passing his mind 'He is as strong as Senshi-Senpai..Err then again I can't really tell when it comes to that level..' a sudden urge to ask for a spar came over him, but was shut down by the news of events which had unfolded in the past weeks - one of those things being the hokage dying which is why this mission was presented with in the beginning. The best candidate for the position was last located in the Land of Lightning, a place which he became somewhat familiar with; all but Kumogakure which had been avoided by everyone within the Hamada Clan by the word of it's Head, Senshi Hamada who is also widely considered within the Clan itself as their most powerful member despite having grown old in age. ((Am currently writing his CS))

The Jonin leading the mission, after giving out information on their mission ended with asking people to introduce themselves. Starting with another genin whose name was Yūbina, but before she could say anything the last genin on the team who announced her name was Kita Hyuuga who was already showing a harsh attitude towards the Jonin of the same Clan, it was at this moment he realized a strange resemblance between the two. However all to his surprise, after introducing herself Kita turned her attention towards Saito directly and asking where he came from; realizing almost as soon as she noticed him in the room as someone outside from Konohagakure. Of course, the question she really wanted to ask was 'where are you from at all?' as he guessed someone eventually might. He sat quiet for a second, staring blankly at her for a few moments. Deciding that he wasn't going to be the second person to interrupt Yūbina with her introduction and waited - which wasn't for long as she done her best but ultimately; failed in the eyes of Saito who wondered how far 'wanting to be cool' could take someone. Now it was his turn from his guess, the other genin seemed to have introduced themselves leaving only Saito left, and after taking a deep breath he done the best he could to introduce himself appropriately on behalf of his Clan. Both answering the questions Kita had for him as well as following directions of their 'mission mentor' as he saw it.

"My name is Saito Hamada..I am not from the Land of Shinobi but I have lived here for three years and spent most of my time in the Land of Lightning & Fire. My motivation for becoming a Shinobi is pretty long..." Scratching the back of his head and looking down to his feet, he thought about the day he left and the last conversation he had with his Grandfather who was in turn also the Head of the Hamada Clan and the promises which he laid down. "My Clan aren't well known, and that is because they don't want to be. The majority of my Clan do not fully understand your culture yet, and while many of us have already seen you use strange techniques which seem to work similar to ours we wonder if your power is for honor or not." His tone became slightly serious over the span of talking about this, mostly because this subject was one of the most discussed in his Clan and brought much controversy and from there he decided to stop. "And that's why I am here! Because I was the only one willing to take up the task." and after concluding that, he gave a generous smile at the end.
