Alarmed and Strangerous
This thread is where you can find a character skeleton to fill out and where you will eventually post your completed character sheets. Our CS is a little more complicated than some, so this thread also contains some guidelines and instructions to follow while creating your character. Be sure to read everything carefully and follow all the instructions.


Guidelines
  • Naruto: Altered takes place in an alternate timelines. While most canon clans and their abilities are available to be taken, you'll have to re imagine what that clan's place is in the world as it may be utterly different from their canon versions. Importantly the Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki and Hyuuga and their kekkei genkai, are all unavailable, their bloodlines having gone extinct long ago. You can find some more detail on the in universe explanation for this but it's a hard, non negotiable fact.

  • Custom techniques and even hiden or kekkei genkai are encouraged, but they will have to be evaluated for balance by GMs. Some techniques or powers might be too high level for your character to begin the RP with but might be acceptable as an unlock later down the road, others might need to just be reworked.

  • Do not post your CS to the the thread here right away. Once you have finished your CS, PM it to the GMs ( AtlannianSpy AtlannianSpy KageYuuki KageYuuki Orikanyo Orikanyo and InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum . We'll give you some feedback and outline any changes you might need to make. Once your CS has been accepted by us, then post it to the character thread.

  • Keep in mind that the character you're creating will be a genin. You're designing someone at the start of their journey not the end of it. Characters don't necessarily have to start with all the abilities and techniques that will set them apart later down the road. Likewise, in terms of their personality, they should have goals they are aiming for and personality flaws they'll be growing out of over time rather than perfect minds and a long history of achievements.

  • Post your character sheet in the format we've provided. There's a lot of information here and it's really helpful for us when everything is consistently formatted and we can quickly, easily find the data we need.

Filling out Your Skills & Attributes

While the rest of the CS is hopefully fairly self explanatory, the Skills and Attributes grid can be a little bit complex so we've provided a step by step guide to walk you through the process.

As you can see, the stat grid has three rows: attributes, skills and bonuses. The 15 points you start the RP with are only divided up among the categories in the first row, the skill row is filled out by averaging together different attributes and the bonuses row we will discuss further down.

Your first step when filling out a stat grid should be to allocate points to your basic attributes, your character's strength, agility, perception, intelligence and stamina. You can go to the mechanics page to learn more about what each of these attributes do but this guide will assume you have already done that. You'll observe that in this example table we've allocated all our points to basic attributes but when you fiill out your grid you might want to reserve some of your attribute points for Mastery, or specializations which we will cover further down.

Calculating your basic skills is as simple as averaging together the two attributes related to that skill, in fact the exact formulas are displayed within the grid if you are unsure. You can see our example character has a fairly balanced skill profile, with good taijutsu and tools scores and very average scores in their other categories.

Now you might find that the skills you end up with through this process don't quite suit the character you wanted. Maybe you wanted to specialize a little more, or you wanted to be really good at ninjutsu but terrible at genjutsu even though they are both partially derived from your intelligence score. This is where the two attribute categories we ignored earlier, Mastery and Ineptitude, come in.

Mastery is an attribute that allows us to raise any skill. Each attribute point invested in the mastery category allows us to add a bonus of +2 to any skill you want. These bonuses are marked in the third row, like so. Keep in mind that a character can only ever have 1/5th of their total attribute points invested in mastery. So with 15 points total to start with a new character can only have a maximum of 3 attribute points in it.

We've decided our example character here should be good at taijutsu, so we've spent an attribute point in mastery and added the +2 bonus there, raising our taijutsu score to 6. Now if you've been paying attention you might have notice a problem: that extra point we spent has brought us to 16, one over the 15 point limit. This is where Ineptitude comes in. Ineptitude is like a negative, or opposite version mastery, we can lower our ineptitude score below zero to free up attribute points to spend else where. However each point we take out of ineptitude like this confers a penalty of -2 to a skill of our choosing, just like an opposite version of the +2 bonus.

There we go, back to 15 points. Our genjutsu score was already very low so we've decided to neglect it completely and apply the penalty from our ineptitude there. This character is now very vulnerable to even basic genjutsu, but they have great taijutsu for a genin and lots of other options to fall back on as well. Now plenty of characters will be done at this stage. However anyone who wants to have particularly rare, or special techniques will have to deal with the specialization section of the Grid.

Specializations are described in greater detail on the mechanics page, so you should read that section if you intend to take one. But in short specializations are like extra skills. They cover unusual, or specialized techniques that not all shinobi will learn and utilize. Kekkei Genkai and Hiden techniques are two examples of specializations but there are some more common ones too: sensory ninjutsu or fuuinjutsu for example.

Each specialization has it's own score, just like the rest of your skills. Some specializations are derived from the same attributes as basic skills but many have their own, unique combinations. Some of the more common specializations have their attributes listed in the mechanics page, but for custom specializations or more obscure ones you will probably need to just ask a GM.

Taking a Specialization costs three attribute points, this cost isn't explicitly marked on the grid, it just lowers your total attribute score down to 12. Let's adjust our example character's grid so that he can take a specialization and then give him Nintaijutsu: a specialization derived from strength and intelligence that will take advantage of his best attribute.

All Done! Now all that's left is fill out the rest of the character skeleton. You'll observe that taking a specialization was rather costly, lowering our attributes and skills across the board. Our character was willing to make that sacrifice but it might not be the right choice for everyone. For many other characters, it might be a good idea to hold off on choosing a specialization, until we have more attribute points overall and the price of -3 is less of an issue. Even genetically inherited kekkei genkai can remain dormant for a while, if you'd like to choose one but not pay the attribute cost right away.

Stubborn, brash and overly confident, Tachi isn't much of an overthinker, preferring to throw himself wholeheartedly into whatever course of action appeals to his instincts. These instincts usually propel him towards a course of justice and fairness, he's a kindhearted boy with a strong sense of fairplay. That being said Tachi isn't necessarily the most popular person, many people find him to loud, annoying and a little dumb, but those who can put up with his overbearing attitude will find him to be a loyal, warm friend.

Biography
The Shogohara's are a non ninja family, as far back as anyone can remember they have been bakers, of modest means. Tachi had a happy, peaceful childhood, playing and helping out with his family's store. Tachi did have a tendency to get into fights however, he couldn't stand bullying and would often interven on behalf of smaller weaker children. Tachi didn't necessarily win all of his fights, he was small for his age and untrained.

One day Tachi tried to prevent a group of three children beating a dog only for them to turn out to be academy students. With their taijutsu training, the three gave Tachi the beating of his life but it was enough time for the dog to escape and it wasn't enough to break Tachi's spirit. instead it only gave him a new goal. Tachi became determined to become a shinobi himself and grow strong enough to make a fairer, kinder world.

Tachi's time in the academy was difficult. Although he was determined and physically fit, he proved to have no particular aptitude for the finer points of shinobihood such as Genjutsu or Ninjutsu and many of his classmates from more established clans or shinobi family disapproved of him being there, feeling that he was stepping above his station. Tachi never let such things get him down for long, all he had to do to prove them wrong was never give up and that was one thing he was good at.

Tachi's main strength is taijutsu, he isn't advanced enough to have a distinct style yet but he favors an aggressive approach, utilizing his nimbleness and basic competency with tool use to quickly close in on enemies and overwhelm them with a flurry of aggressive attacks. Personality
A quiet and studious girl, Shizuka takes her duties to her clan and village very seriously but would rather not be the center of attention while executing them. Shizuka keeps her opinions and her emotions to herself for the most part and would rather go along with someone else's idea than reveal her own thinking most of the tim. She's often surprised by the wider world and quietly enthusiastic about learning it's intricacies but she tends to be more comfortable observing than participating, especially in activities that are unfamiliar. It takes a long time for Shizuka to bond in any meaningful way and even with people she trusts she rarely elects to share her opinions but those capable of engaging her tend to describe her as thoughtful, even philosophical.

Biography
Shizuka is the youngest of the Mizune clan head's seven children. Due to the clan's unusual tradition of ultimogeniture, wherein the youngest direct descendant inherits the position of clan head this means Shizuka is currently set to inherit. Shizuka never received any special attention as a result of her position, the Mizune do not value favoritism and ceremony all that much and all of Shizuka's siblings were at one point in the same position. In fact most of the time Shizuka was subjected to a sort of benign neglect, she was able to come to her parents with any questions or problems and was given lessons and training, but other than that the young girl was mostly free to do what ever she wanted.

Mostly what Shizuka wanted was to read or write or do other quiet, contemplative things by herself. By the time she entered the academy Shizuka was well read and studious, but not terribly well socialized, she struggled to make friend and was even lightly bullied at points. Her parents and siblings would never have stood for this but they never knew, Shizuka preferred to keep her porblems to herself and deal with them her own way. Shizuka ignored her tormentors and simply buckled down and focused on her studies, every written test, every theoretical exam, including their final one before graduation, she scored top marks, leaving her detractors forced to concede defeat in at least one arena. Graduating top of her class in terms of academics, Shizuka is nevertheless a little apprehensive about life as a genin, there are still many areas where she needs to improve.

Shizuka isn't very strong, so she relies on keeping her distance from opponents and wearing down and confusing opponents with harassment from her controlled swarms of rats, if possible she would even prefer to remain undetected while this happens and is happy to use tactics like ambushes where possible, although her stealth skill is only average. Description
The hiden technique of the Mizune clan focuses on controlling verminous rodents, primarily rats and mice though other close relatives are responsive, via the use of high pitched whistles laced with yin chakra. The whistles are so high pitched that they are typically inaudible to humans, but vermin hear it and are attracted in large quantities to the user's location, where they can be commanded to harass or swarm the enemy.
Strengths
The primary advantage of this jutsu is the large number of rats that can be called, rats and mice exist in most common terrains, allowing the user to freely exploit their numbers with suicide attacks and other aggressive tactics. Rats and mice also make excellent scouts and spies.
Weaknesses
The vermin individually lack offensive power and are vulnerable to wide ranging attacks that destroy many of them at the same time. The sound method used to control the vermin also has some limitations, rats can only be called within a certain area so its possible to exhaust the local population over the course of the battle and control of the vermin can be disrupted by damaging their hearing or drowning out the whistles.

A soft hearted and loyal young man who does his best for his friends! There is nobody he loves more than his friends, friends make the world go round and his world is his friends! But his family? oh he loves his family to! Theres alotta love in this young man, and hes more than willing to share it with just about anybody who allows it, or gives him food.

Food is a key portion of friendship you know! Sharing food is exceedingly important! You can't eat food without sharing it!

Aside from his values on food and friendship, he is a rather... Excitable person, typically the first to greet somebody entering the household, even when he was a child he was easily a extremely friendly young boy and very easy to get along with. Though, progressing beyond friendship... Is a tricky up hill battle.

Biography
Born to the current kage, this young man was the target of much excitement, the son of such a powerful individual tends to draw many an eye. For the first while of his life, and continuing throughout most of his childhood he was abit of a... Media darling. His father is already rather popular, but to have such a charming and friendly kid made many a camera come out of hiding.

To some, this would spoil the child, however his father was a keen one, and seemingly made him into a model young man, despite his deficencies in understanding not everyone wants to be your friend and the constant reminders not to take candy from strangers. In truth, he may have became a child movie star had he not chosen to follow in his father's footsteps, his earnest smile and friendly demeanor shine through no matter rain nor shine.

Though, his tendency towards the physical side of things while his father showed great prowess in ninjutsu is uprising, none can debate he doesn't look like hes having fun doing it!

Emerie holds her head high, and strives to show herself as an image of strength. She prefers to speak with her actions rather than her words, and she only says what she needs to say. Her clan has always taught her that confidence is key, and that being a Sairento means she is one day destined to change the world. Emeries takes that lesson seriously, because she wants to one day make a change that’ll help everyone. However, in her efforts to be confident and strong, Emerie sometimes forgets to think things through. She’ll make mistakes, or completely forget vital details. She’ll even end up coming off as an uptight girl who thinks she’s the center of the world! Emerie can’t help but get distracted by those around her suffering and struggling. She tries to help them in small ways so it isn’t obvious she’s trying to help them. Just from observing the world around her, it was ingrained in Emerie that the strong didn’t have enough time to always help out the weak. Emerie tries her hardest to be strong.

In truth, Emerie is just trying too hard to cover up her insecurities about not being a good enough ninja. Hell, she barely made it out of the academy. That’s something Emerie wants everyone to forget, and to instead focus on her amazing tools. Break this girl down enough, and she’ll show you her true nervous and insecure nature. It’s this nature, however, that pushes her to be a better ninja.

Biography
The Sairento Clan first came to the Hidden Crowd as refugees looking for a new home after war destroyed their previous village. They stood out among other refugees, having such fair skin and snow white hair. They held themselves in high regard, seeing themselves as more deserving than the other typical refugees. Their first impression wasn’t positive, but that would all change soon.

It wasn’t long before the Sairento Clan’s genetic ability, Boil Release, became known. It was thought that this clan would possess and produce wonderful ninja with a marvelous new ability for the village. However, the Sairento did not support any form of violence for any reason, and prevented all of their children from growing up to be ninja. It was disappointing, the village thought, until the Sairento began to show off what the used their kekkei genkai for.

Inventions. The Sairento Clan made several little inventions to make life easier in the village. They opened their own metalworks shop. To forge the metal, they used their extremely hot steam! They helped the village continue the rise to power and are still an important part of supplying construction projects in the village. The clan now resides in a beautiful apartment complex within the village, not far from their own original shop.

Recently, the Sairento Clan has begun creating ninja tools for the village. Their pledge to peace having weakened at the hands of a woman named Haeline. She convinced the clan elders that it was their duty to help this village stay safe, and that time not in war was best spent preparing for it. The elders agreed, and weapons began to be made in secret, using hidden steam powered forges. Soon after this policy change, Emerie was born.

In the Sairento Clan, the whiter your hair, and the lighter your eyes, the more pure blooded you were. Emerie is the perfect definition of a pure blood Sairento. Her mother, Haeline, had brown hair. Emerie had been lucky enough to inherit all the right genes from her mother! Because of her perfection, Emerie was pampered and sheltered. She would become a beautiful figurehead of the clan, the elders decided. Haeline had different ideas. Inbetween the ‘Princess Training’, Haeline told Emerie tons of stories about ninja, and heros and the like, inspring the girl to want to become a ninja. Haeline took intiative and signed her up at the academy, igniting a blaze of angry Sairento.

The academy was hard for Emerie. She wasn’t takented at much. The only thing she could do was hit a target dead center with whatever they put in her hands. Other than that, Emerie barely scraped by. Having so many eyes on her, a member of a clan without ninja, gave Emerie so much anxiety that she considered giving up on becoming a ninja entirely. It was only her mother’s gift that kept her moving forward.

Haeline is a technut, and spends most of her time somewhere creating something new. Usually, the inventions are silly or dumb. Every now and then, they’re genius. What Haelin gave her daughter for her graduation exam, were a pair of kunai launchers strapped to her wrists. They required steam to function, so only a Sairento could make use of them. With something so cool to use from the only person in the clan that supported her, Emerie’s confidence skyrocketed. She passed the graduation exam, and became a full-fledged genin! Now, when she’s at home, she has the strength to not let the other clan members words try and pull her away from her ninja dream. Even without the three primary skills a ninja would focus on, Emerie intended to kick everyone’s ass. It didn’t matter if she had to being every single toy her clan had hidden away. With the right eauipment, Emerie would accomplish anything!

Fighting style
Emerie always prepares for her fights in advance. Even with only a short time to prepare, it can help her win. In Emerie’s mind, her plan doesn’t need to be very complicated to work, all it takes is one big flurry of effort, one little trick, and one mistake by the enemy to defeat absolutely anyone. And so, Emerie’s fights consist of her trying to disyract a foe and block their vision with thrown kunai and shuriken before blasting them with her wrist launchers. If need be, she’ll roll in her acidic steam bomb as well as a last resort.

Kaoru can come off as quiet and reserved, though that is normally because he is either reading, thinking about reading, or thinking of how to apply things he has read. His small stature and less than imposing physical capabilities have left him somewhat of a shrinking violet. He shies away from most confrontations he comes across in the village. However the one thing he always stands up to is the assumption he can't and won't be a worthy ninja. His books and those precious few real life heroes he looks up to have inspired him, and he will let it be known he is prepared to fight for his village. He has an absolute adoration for ninjutsu and, to a lesser degree, tools and seals. He perks up at any chance to learn anything about chakra, natures, ninjutsu and their applications, anything of the sort! He knows that he should probably shore up his weaknesses so he won't be useless in any one regard to his village. Yet he finds that he is not so afraid of being the absolute best at one thing and terrible at the rest. His goal in life is to learn all five nature transformations and be a hero to his village, whatever form that takes!

Biography
Kaoru was born dangerously prematurely, leading to the first few months of his life being spent in a hospital on life support. Thankfully, and in the doctor's opinion miraculously, he survived. His parents got to take their baby boy home, and boy was he a handful. While he was remarkably quiet, hardly even crying out when he needed something, he was also a curious baby. He would grab onto and play with anything he could get his hands on to the frequent distress of his parents. Thankfully he would always be found in plain sight with whatever he'd gotten a hold on this time. This trait of getting into things and playing with them only ceased when they successfully taught him to read at a shockingly young age of two. As librarians they couldn't have been happier with this.

He grew up to discover that his parents were not just librarians. But they were the front for the library and information center of the shinobi village of Gunshugakure. This sparked much curiosity and interest in him, and he would talk to anyone who would listen who entered the secret sections of the library. Many ignored him, but the few kind enough to talk to and answer his large variety of questions inspired his desire to become a shinobi himself. His parents were understandably unsure about it at first, due to his relatively small stature and seeming inability to hide under any circumstance. They eventually acquiesced anyways, unable to be another source of pain for their son and his feelings of inadequacy over his size. They secretly nurtured hopes that he would not succeed and would accept his size for what it is. Perhaps become librarians/information brokers like themselves.

He went on to attend the Gunshugakure ninja academy, where he had... mixed results. His natural strength and agility were rather average despite his undersized nature, yet his taijutsu ability was completely nonexistent. He once successfully knocked himself unconscious.... against a training dummy. Improvement since then has been minimal. His senses are not.... good. He doesn't always seem to pick up on obvious traps or people hiding even relatively poorly. He has been trying to work on this and swears people just need to give him time. His understanding of genjutsu and stealth techniques are abysmal, but then again if he were to be honest he didn't try overly hard in these subjects. For all his faults there are places he shines.

His accuracy with and effective use of tools impressed some instructors, and they suggested he keep working on it so the talent grows. But where his true abilities lie in his stamina reserves, raw intelligence in and out of combat, and his compatibility for ninjutsu. He learned his chakra nature on his own accidentally before any lesson on the subject had even been given. Reports say he was just trying to figure out new ways to apply his chakra! One literal shock to his father made him realize what his strength truly was. Since he hasn't stopped consuming every piece of ninjutsu based literature or lecture. If he was going to be weak in so many areas he wanted to show he could be the strongest of his class in the one he was good at. After relentless training and reading, and to the secret disappointment of his parents, he managed to graduate to genin. The bullies may have had their laughs at his expense along the way, and he sunk further into his introverted shell as a result, but they couldn't take this from him!

Fighting Style
Kaoru can't punch his way through the basics, but he more than makes up for it with raw ninjutsu power! His preference is electrical based jutsu, alongside thrown weapons such as kunai and senbon. He also mixes the two by applying electricity to his weapons before they are thrown.

Bright and bubbly, Kohaku tends to come off more like the child she actually is than a graduated genin. If doing something she doesn't want to, her attention span is laughably short and her ability to remain still vanishes. She'd much rather be off playing than readings through books and scrolls or sitting through a lecture. Likely her only saving grace during the academy was that she considered working with her puppets a form of play.

Having been left home alone more often than not, the puppets and toys tended to be some of Kohaku's companionship. But that's okay, she got to make friends at the academy and genin teams are friends for life!

Despite her beaming smiles and bright outlook, Kohaku has a bad habit of bottling up her emotions. If she was strong and didn't cry anymore, no one would have to worry about her.

Biography
Born into a family of puppetmasters, becoming a shinobi seemed like the obvious path for Kohaku. Even from a young age, she was playing with various (unarmed) puppets designed by her parents and older brother. They may have been little more than dolls at the time, but working on them was how she spent time with her parents. It was playtime, family time, and Kohaku loved nearly every minute of it. Her father often used puppets she helped make when telling stories, manipulating the crudely made dolls with practiced finesse.

Both of Kohaku's parents had achieved the rank of jounin during their careers and were away on missions more often than not. She missed them when they were working, but it was just a part of life. Same with her brother Hikaru, though being a genin he wasn't gone for as long as their parents usually were. Sadly, the life of a shinobi is rarely a long one and a particularly dangerous mission claimed the lives of her parents not long after Kohaku entered the academy.

The loss of their parents hit both siblings hard, both reacting in different ways. Hikaru channeled his energy in caring for his sister and in his work as a shinobi. Kohaku bounced back surprisingly quickly, all things considered, burying the pain behind a grin so her brother wouldn't have to worry. She continued at the academy so he wouldn't have to worry about her so much, only making him worry more in process.

Somehow, she was going to make it as a kunoichi.

There are few more dangerous combinations as curious, and unstoppable. Or in Mibu's case, curious and undetectable. Not having parents, Mibu knows she's awkward, and she really doesn't understand people. So she tries to fix this solution by watching the people around her constantly. And following them home. And hiding in their shadows. Funnily enough, they get mad when they catch her, so Mibu's solution has been to get better at stealth.

Of course, it'd be rude to take lessons from people and not pay them back, so Mibu does as many favors from the shadows as she can. Repairing broken things around the house, leaving candy, moving lost keys to more favorable positions, anything to help.

Mibu was also told to be protective of those important to her, so she is. She regularly makes sure they are adhering to their schedules, and likes to guess where they are at any point in the day. If she sees something she doesn't like on her patrols, Mibu is quick to rectify the situation.

Despite her quirks, at least it can be said Mibu's always thinking of others...


Biography
Another orphan on the streets, taken in by the village and given housing, that's Mibu. She was just sorta expected to be a ninja, and trained half-heartedly for it at the start of the academy. What was expected, she would do. She had great use of yin chakra, but often failed genjutsu, being told she was 'unimaginative'. Her grades were sub-average, and she was threatened to be evicted if she failed. She still couldn't figure out why though. Why was she supposed to care? What did ninja's protect? Why were people always going on and on about love, and protecting, and bonds? Mibu had no one, and couldn't understand those who did. She was quiet, and elusive, not wanting to interact with others.

However, her emo life started to turn around when a new neighbor moved in across the street. He was in the nicer apartments than hers, but he still noticed her after helping Mibu carry groceries home. A friendly man named Hibiki, he took an interest in his mini-neighbor and took her to his trainings sometimes. What he might have failed to mention was he was in ANBU, and his trainings were more than a little harsh. She took to it like a fish to water. She was already behind in the academy, but his side trainings gave her a major boost in grades. Having someone, anyone put an interest in her life made Mibu go from apathetic to curious. Her questions were no longer negations, but actual inquiries. Why was she supposed to care? What did ninja's protect? Why were people always going on and on about love, and protecting, and bonds? Mibu started to observe those around her.

And that was the first dozen police arrests. Her neighbor used his connections to get her out of trouble, and tried to explain to Mibu about her questions, and to get her to stop stalking people. He was shocked when she agreed, and was a good girl for a month. However, one thing he failed to notice was Mibu was far too bright, and was enjoying the additional trainings a little more than normal. He found her hiding in his shadow two days later. Not only had she not stopped, he'd given her the tools to become nearly unstoppable...

Well, he at least tried to instill values into her about thinking about others, and protecting that which was important. It rung with her question of bonds. She quickly agreed and took this to heart.

Supportfrom the shadows - Catching Mibu is problematic at the best of time. In combat, she hides where she's least expected, and uses a variety of support jutsu to aide her allies and throw off her enemies. She's not too good in a direct fight, but that's why she never takes them.

Shizuo can be a little offputting at first, he generally has some variation of a scowl on his face and he seems like a bit of a killjoy, rarely wanting to do anything fun or finding jokes amusing. Shizuo is responsible and hardworking, prioritizing his training and helping out his family over slacking off; his mother raised Shizuo to believe in reaping the effort you sow. But scratch Shizuo's grumpy exterior and you will reveal a bit of a softy. Shizuo's mother also raised him to never ignore someone in need of help and he believes that too, he steps in to help old ladies across the street, to get cats out of trees, to help classmates study. Shizuo may act grumpy or put upon but he finds it almost impossible to say no to them and anyone who knows him well can usually tell he's in a good mood after doing these things.

Biography
Shizuo's mother Kuroki was, in her time, a renowned member of Gunshugakure's regular forces, completing many dangerous missions for the good of the village. During the previous war however Kuroki suddenly resigned her position and left the country, only to return some years later with a sword and two babies: Shizuo and his sister Yuuka. Kuroki never returned to active duty as a shinobi, taking a low paying job that would allow her to actually raise her children

Life for the small Murata family was challenging. Shizuo was a rambunctious and energetic child but Yuuka was weak and sickly, doctors were never able to narrow down what her illness was except that it was genetic and the constant medical bills were a drain on Kuroki's finances, forcing her to work long hours. Still things could have been worse, despite not having any family, Kuroki was well liked by the other residents in their apartment buildings and a family here or an elderly couple there was always available to look after the twins when Kuroki had to work. Kuroki taught Shizuo to be grateful for this kindness and almost as soon as he was old enough he began to pay them back by running errands or performing chores, some people might have looked at this as a burden but Shizuo always felt good helping people out and it did help him develop his muscles.

Whenever Kuroki was free to spend time with her children she entertained them with stories from her time as a shinobi. Shizuo already admired his mother for working so hard to take care of them, but he came to idolize her through these stories. To Shizuo it seemed incredible that someone so gentle and caring could also fight to protect people. As he got older these stories also made Shizuo a little guilty, it seemed a shame his mother had had to leave a career she was so good at, and could help so many people. Eventually Shizuo decided that if he became a shinobi her legacy could live on to an extent through him and there was another pressing reason for Shizuo to enter the academy, his sister. Yuuka's illness had never improved much throughout her life, she tired easily and struggled to spend more than a few hours out of bed and had to make frequent trips to the hospital. The extra money Shizuo could bring in as a genin would be of great help to the family. Not only that, but Yuuka's illness originated from their Father's genes, if Shizuo took the sword the man had left with Kuroki into battle there was a chance, however slight that he would eventually run into someone who knew about him and about the genetic illlness afflicting her.

Left to his own devices Shizuo would probably adopt a fairly straightforward style, rushing in to protect his allies and shoulder any attacks himself. His mother tried to curb this instinct when she started to training him but it never really worked, so she settled for at least teaching him a few dirty tricks and genjutsu, making sure he understood it was okay to use them to protect people even if they might seem like cheating to the fair minded boy. Now when Shizuo rushes into melee he has a few surprises up his sleeve that allow him to take heat off his teammates and still fight the battle on his terms. However Shizuo does have some notable blindspots, he lacks any talent for ninjutsu and he absolutely refuses to use or carry any weapons apart from his sword, making tool use a total non starter for him. Shizuo has no ranged options to speak of in effect.

A strong shield , a kind man that shines with each smile and holds great strength in his body and mind, his power of will stands triumphant against all foes as he tosses each of their strikes away like the fists of a child desperate to lay but a single blow. But outside the battlefield, he is an exceedingly worried and somewhat coddling fatherly figure. He worries constantly about young genin, always ready to patch up any of their booboos.

As a white rabbit, he stands as a great medic nin and one who specializes in protection of target areas or people.

Biography
A protector and a healer, that is what Kazou always was, he has hurt people before yes but he has always, always put the safety and protection of others before destroying an enemy. When it came to the wars, he couldn't face the fact so many were left to die, no mercy was given even for those caught in the crossfire.

This sense of mercy, this desire to aid others, made him become a white rabbit, utilizing his strength and defensive prowess he was able to prevent many lives lost from the cross fire even at expense of himself. His strength is the reason many are alive today and he stood as a pillar of strength for those who could not deal with the crushing weight of the world coming down all around them.

He adopted a child who was orphaned from those days Lyn, a young girl whom he somewhat coddles and melts when she asks him for anything, but he remains as a good father nonetheless. He now takes up the mantle of sensei, to help pay the bills and provide young boys and girls with the wisdom he has gained throughout the years.

Plus, he finds a kindred spirit in the kage.

Despite exemplifying his clan's namesake with his reputation as a prankster Shinichi's playfulness takes a lot of the sting out of them, at least for the first few offences. Not one for elaborate planning only his most devious schemes have any setup instead acting almost exclusively on impulse. Having received a lot of attention throughout his early childhood (translation: slightly spoiled) he is only too happy to take centre stage and anyone who ignores him becomes a priority target for pranking.

Biography
Originally hailing from the Land of Patience the Kabuso clan once played a pivotal role in Funegakure's tactics with their more direct fighting style allowing them to act as a vanguard or stalling enemies to buy time for their comrades to prepare their famed traps, naturally this made them more likely than most to suffer casualties while also fostering something of a reputation among their allies as being less intelligent than their allies. As the Great War intensified the clan was killed in such great numbers that slaying one of their partner animals became an unofficial rite of passage among Kemono ninja reducing them from hundreds to just a couple of dozen along with Shinichi's parents who were the leaders of the clan at the time, feeling that they had been used as cannon fodder they abandoned Funegakure shortly after the war ended and we accepted into the Land of Harmony.

Having lost his parents shortly after he was born Shinichi was raised collectively by his remaining relatives to eventually take up the role of clan head. Held up by his clan as a symbol of their new start and presented to the village as a showcase of what they could contribute his tendency to muck around caused a fair amount of consternation though he suffered little of it under the doting of his relatives many of which had lost children of their own to the war.

Shinjiro isn't the type to grab the spotlight, nor is he someone that desires to do so. He is far more comfortable being a face in the crowd, to be among the 'normal' people of society. As a child Shinjiro never did let the wealth of the Kaede clan get to his head nor did he develop that snobbish personality that his siblings did. Whilst his older brother and sister were normally pampered by their households retainers, Shinjiro was more inclined to spending time with his Uncle; a man cemented in the old tradition. In truth, Shinjiro is heavily influenced by his uncles upbringing, seeing the man as more of a father figure then his own dad. Like his uncle, Shinjiro appreciates the finer things in life and is more aware of how the world works unlike his pampered siblings. Shinjiro unlike his siblings is unafraid to put the hard work in, to get his hands dirty and accomplish something he sets his mind on, if anything he abhores having someone else do something for him, especially trivial things such as cleaning his room.

The ever humble black sheep son of the Kaede clan, his friendliness towards the household retainers as well as to the villagers under the protection of the Kaede clan was often a point of ridicule from his older siblings as well as an embarrassment to his father as he often proclaimed such acts as being attempts to undermine his authority, not that that ever stopped him from venturing down into the village.

Nowadays it takes quite a lot to get Shinjiro to show his anger; having developed a 'thick skin' from enduring the taunts his siblings often threw at him. He rarely lets the opinions of others affect him, much less change him; instead laughing it off as a simple misunderstanding. He is happy and satisfied with his decisions in life and is not ashamed of being different and the black sheep of the Kaede Clan.

An open and honest individual, Shinjiro is someone who you can trust, a man who would take your secret to the grave if it was required to do so and as such he expects as much from those he would call his friends. His honesty however can often times lead to conflict as he is not the type to hold back his opinion on certain subjects even at the cost of 'hurting' your feelings. He says it how he see's it and would prefer if others did the same to him. His uncle often said that "The harsh truth can hurt, but it can also nurture, it can set the foundations needed in order to grow into a respectable man, but only if you choose to heed its warnings"

By no means a risk taker, he will patiently wait and try to assess a situation beforehand before deciding on what to do. Whether or not he makes the right decision however is still up to chance. He doesn't find it too difficult to make new friends, however he isn't going to over exert himself to befriend someone whose personality clashes with his. If overtime, those clashing personalities do relent and they can come to an understanding, he is more then willing to let bygones be bygones. He would prefer to have more friends than enemies thus he tries his best at finding a common ground between himself and another and use that as a foundation to grow the relationship.

Lastly, Shinjiro despises oppression. He despised how his family ruled the small village they looked after, he despised how his siblings treated their retainers and he despised how the villagers finally snapped under their rule and revolted. Oppression and misuse of power are two things he can not stand and he uses his experience of witnessing both to fuel his maturity into a man who can wield power enough to change it.​


Biography
Formerly the 3rd child of the Kaede Clan's Head and then a wandering nomad and street performer, Shinjiro has experienced living the life of Wealth and luxury as well as the life of a simple man forced to trudge along day by day to earn a meagre living and in truth it was in the latter experience that he truly felt alive and happy. His experience on both sides of the coin that separates the rich and the poor have largely influenced his decision and goals in time thus when the time came to pass that he was old enough and capable enough to set out on his own did he decide to enrol in the Gunshugakure Academy of shinobi.

The Kaede Clan was formerly a clan that presided over a small village of 100+ villagers in the northernmost point of the land of Kindness,though despite the name of the land they resided in, the Kaede clan's ruling family and their downfall was anything but kind. Originally however, the Kaede clan originated from the Land of Justice and it was their clans former head, Yamato Kaede; father to Samuru Kaede and Chikao Kaede as well as the grandfather to Shinjiro who brought the family over sea's to the nearby Land of Kindness whilst the branch family remained in the Land of Justice. Samuru Kaede was a man who ruled with fear and oppression, enlisting the most beautiful and handsome of the villagers children into becoming retainers for their household, tasked with fulfilling duties demanded of them by members of the family; the worst of which came from Shinjiro's older siblings, Hideo Kaede and Asuka Kaede.

The clan rose topower through smuggling. Using their branch Family left behind in the land of Justice to garner rare earthen metals through the clan's Kekkei Genkai 'Magnet Release'. They would ship the rare minerals and occasional gem's to the clans main branch in the land of kindness where they would be sold off to the bustling economy. Many merchants and traders found themselves working exclusively for the Kaede Clan, travelling across the country to sell their illegal goods to countless other villages. Needless to say, the Kaede clan profited greatly from this illegal trade and soon came to power, ruling over the small village they watched over with oppression and fear. Those that tried to whistleblow to the Hidden village of Hanagakure often found themselves dead.

Ruling with an iron fist however could only last so long and it was merely a matter of time before revolt arose; a planned attack that took a year and a half of preparation before coming to fruition. Wild blossoms cultivated to release spores and scents that naturally permeate genjutsu enhancing properties were planted near the outskirts of the village, their flower petals once in bloom gathered by the village folk and grounded into a thin powder. This powder was then ironically smuggled into the household by their own retainers and added to the Kaede clans food and drink. Shinjiro was the only member spared, his tampered food thrown away by one of the retainers; unable to punish the youngest and most importantly innocent son for the crimes of his family. He had been the only member to have ever shown them kindness. Despite Chikao's respectful nature, the village had seen him as a man capable of stopping Samuru and his decision not to was instead seen as a sin that had to be punished as well.

Hallucinating, the Kaede clan could not defend themselves properly as hordes of angry villagers stormed the grounds of their home, let in by the retainers that had poisoned their food. The Kaede clan soon perished, either succumbing to the overwhelming numbers and inability to properly fight, or simply fighting one another under the influence of the genjutsu enhancing herbs.

Only Chikao and Shinjiro managed to escape into the dead of night; though Chikao was soon paralysed from the waist down as they fled albeit not before killing the five pursuers.

Shinjiro alongside his ageing uncle eventually became apart of a group of travelling merchants and street performers that frequented several villages as they attempted to sell their wares to customers as well as put on a performance to earn a quick buck. These merchants were largely made up of normal villagers, however there were a few among their group that were considered to be former shinobi; haunted by the sight of war and disillusioned they turned their backs towards the duty of a Ninja. Instead they used their abilities to put on shows, low level ninjutsu that were used to entertain the village children along their travels. Shinjiro and his uncle were found by them wandering the side of a beaten old road, emaciated and on the verge of succumbing to dehydration, Shinjiro was found dragging his uncle upon his own back. Without hesitation the merchants quickly took them into their care, nursing and feeding them, though the result of combat had left his Uncle permanently hurt, a shuriken stuck in his spinal column had stolen his ability to walk.

For 2 years, they stayed with this group of merchants and performers, encountering dangerous bandits along the roads, visiting villages along their route to pawn off their wares or to perform shows to the villagers in order to make a quick buck here and there; Shinjiro often participating in these shows with the other performers whilst his uncle put his hands to good use in crafting small tools to be sold off. During the times between the villages, Shinjiro would practice Taijutsu and Ninjutsu; initially as a means of helping the former shinobi to defend their carts from bandit attacks but also as a way to preserve their clans Kekkei Genkai, The Magnet Release.

Eventually however the time came when his Uncle could not hold out much longer. Old age being the enemy of everyone, his time soon came to pass as he succumbed to deaths invitation during his slumber. For days, Shinjiro had isolated himself from everyone; the man who he viewed as more of a father figure than his own dad as well as his last known surviving relative had passed on. His death brought sadness but also reminded Shinjiro of the horrors he faced all those years ago as his family succumbed to the villages revolt; though instead of spiralling further into depression, Shinjiro instead chose to act upon it.

Decision made and with the acceptance of his adopted merchant family, Shinjiro was dropped off at the next village; Gunshugakure. The money he had earned along his travels with the merchants acting as his funds for the first few months as he bartered his way into the academy.

A close to mid range fighter, Shinjiro naturally excels in the art of Taijutsu utilising the fighting style 'Arhat Fist' as his primary fighting style. This style of combat focuses on simple physical attacks such as palm strikes, shoulder thrusts, knee strikes, and punches. When Taijutsu is not ideal, Shinjiro can fall back onto a more ranged form of combat, utilising his Clans Kekkei Genkai in conjunction with his tools.

Asami is a logician by nature, her mind always works and plans several steps ahead, always expecting the unimaginable and willing to divert and build again at a moments notice. She has a natural poker face which often makes her come off as unfriendly or disinterested in others.

She’s quiet by choice and usually prefers to observe before acting, and judging whether or not something is worth getting herself involved in. And by logical thinking this has often led to her turning a blind eye to those who genuinely needed help; however, this isn’t to say she’s completely heartless just looking out for herself before others as an act of self-preservation rather than playing the hero. Asami's sense of justice as a ninja is also linked with her outlook on life itself, that being said a thief in her eyes could be deemed innocent if his means are to provide for his family.

Asami is also very slow to anger, managing her emotions or hiding them very well as a means of getting her way or simply getting into the mind of her opponents. She is level-headed and able to focus clearly in even the most stressful situations, but one can only take so much mentally before exploding in either fit of rage or sorrow which Asami is prone to after a while.

She also tends to avoid awkward or tense situations, removing herself abruptly or silently fading into the background unnoticed.

She is however unforgiving and often cruel to those who have done her wrong or to those who act as if they are untouchable or above others. Asami is quick to take matters into her own hands and doesn’t fear getting her hands dirty in the process.

Biography
The Kurayami clan originally hails from the land of kindness, advancing as a rather well-known clan for their Genjutsu tactics used in the war of tariffs against the lands of Justice and Wisdom. Born from her father a well-respected shinobi of this clan and her mother a simple botanist was Asami, not too long after the last war had ended and refugees were pouring in from hidden villages all over seeking to start a new life. Asami's family decided to move on as well from a life of war and into the new age of peace and prosperity by moving to the land of Harmony where their new life truly began; her father joining the police force with his impressive background in Taijutsu and Bukijutsu, while her mother went on to be a florist, while still tending to a few plant samples she brought from Hanagakure.

Asami at a young age underwent training through her father, being the first born she held a great responsibility of living up to his great deeds and carrying on the Kurayami name with pride even in this foreign land. She showed no real promise at taijutsu and was just barely passable with a kunai much to her father's disappointment. She did, however, have an affinity for genjutsu and could mold chakra fairly quickly as well as guiding it with some proficiency which was believed to have come from her mother's side of the family which Asami took kindly to due to her mother's passive nature and continued on that path almost in spite of her father.

Life at the ninja academy wasn't the easiest thing Asami had come to face, due to her socially awkward behavior she was quickly labeled as 'weird.' and was often picked on. This often ate away at her ambitions to become a ninja and with her father's disapproval of her "Flashy tactics." she would have grown more depressed and closed off from the world around her, had it not been for her mother's encouragement. Asami pushed forward and made a goal to become the ideal shinobi for her clan, stomping her father's traditions and replacing them with her own. She aims to one day change the world so that one day there will no longer be a need for Shinobi.
Combat Information
fighting style

Asami prefers to avoid close quarters combat at all cost unless her opponent is stunned or recovering from genjutsu. She uses her lightning nature to augment her speed and strength up beyond its usual limitations to either deal a piercing strike or a quick sneak attack. Starting off a fight with a preset genjutsu to throw off her opponents while she builds chakra is usually her go-to strategy; however, her smaller frame and lack of raw power usually render her useless in a close-range battle. Using ninja tools infused with her lightning chakra is another way she keeps the fight flowing at her pace by either stunning or handicapping her opponents.

Haru is the toughest boy around! Sure, he may flip out when toast pops up, or jump whenever someone approaches him from behind, or tear up if a person so much as raises their voice...

So tough.

All in all, Haru is a fairly quiet and timid boy. Always doubting and second-guessing himself, he'd much rather keep to himself and remain in the background. Everyone else is way stronger than him anyway! It's perhaps thanks to this complete lack of self-confidence that he clings to whatever friends he can make. People that he can only hope aren't going to foist their high expectations on him as everyone else has over the years. Despite his cowardice, Haru will take on even the most terrifying of opponents if it means protecting the people precious to him.


Biography
Having lived in Gunshugakure since near its founding, the Mori clan have always been fairly unremarkable. The first members that initially moved in showed incredible prowess with their mastery of Storm Release, leading to high hopes for the line as a whole. The generations to follow, however, were completely incapable of using the kekkei genkai.

Until Haru was born.

As fate would have it, the youth with no interest in a shinobi's lifestyle would be the first gifted with the kekkei genkai since the clan's arrival. He would be the one to bring the clan back into the limelight. He had to be. The pressure was on as Haru was foisted into the academy. The clan's eyes were on him and the boy knew it. His every action was judged and every mistake judged heavily.

It didn't take long for the bright and bubbly child to crack under everyone's expectations. His grades weren't at the levels everyone had hoped and as he began questioning every single one of his actions, they only dropped further. Perhaps it was only by dumb luck he managed to scrape his way by and earn the rank of genin.

Because of this, the clan continues to wait and hope that he brings fame to them once again.

Aaaaahhhhhh!! Haru isn't really much of a fighter, having barely scraped through the academy. What techniques he does have don't really pack much of a punch either... This squishy boy usually ends up running away from combat. If push comes to shove, and his friends are in danger, he'll use what few tricks are at his disposal to bring down his opponent.

Bluntly Miyako could be described as immature. She rarely seems to take things serious, frequently neglects her duties in favor passing inclinations or childish obsessions and seems to base most of her decisions on what would be the most "cool". It might be accurate to say that Miyako is still working through a rebellious teen phase, pushing back against the rigid strictures of a clan she never felt suited for. Nevertheless underneath Miyako's childish exterior is a calculating and insightful intellect, capable of uncannily accurate predictions and surprising strategies. Whenever Miyako is so inclined of course. The truth about Miyako might just be that she understands the value- and power- of passion, of having a dream or even just an aesthetic and pursuing it regardless of what anyone else says.

Biography
The Fujihara occupy an important niche within Gunshugakure, being the village's foremost expert in fuinjutsu and sensory jutsu. Most of the larger villages have specialized formations or squadrons devoted to these skills, priceless as they are in terms of logistics and intelligence gathering, but Gunshugakure being a slightly smaller village, they rely primarily on the Fujihara. Despite being a rather small clan in terms of numbers and raw power, the Fujihara wield quite a bit of influence due to this skillset. The Fujihara guard their position jealously by strictly training up each generation of new shinobi to inherit their knowledge.

When Miyako Fujihara was born into the clan it was obvious to the clan elders they had a naturally gifted student, with a natural sensitivity and insight into the basics of sealing, she seemed perfectly suited to taking up the mantle of the clan's specialized techniques. There was one slight problem however, Miyako hated her clan techniques. Perhaps because she was so naturally suited for them, Miyako found both fuinjutsu and sensory jutsu unbearably dull. Detecting people or scribbling some symbols on paper, there was no dram to it! No Style! Miyako was much more a fan of taijutsu, the passionate exchange of blows! The blending of form and function into elegant but powerful movements! What could be cooler?

Miyako was ill suited to taijutsu, being a rather scrawny and weak child, but she was constantly neglecting her other studies or staying up at night to practice martial arts, gleaning whatever knowledge she could by observing older shinobi from other clans. Despite her lack of natural ability, Miyako's endless practice paid off and her taijutsu skills started to shine, unorthodox as they were.

Miyako's conflict with her clan elders came to a head at the end of her chunin exams, which she passed using only taijutsu. Miyako's own Father dragged her away from the awards ceremony and the pair became embroiled in an hours long argument that ended with Miyako being all but disowned from the clan. Shortly after that, Miyako and a number of other Gunshugakure shinobi left the village for reasons that are now classified. These shinobi returned some years later, at the end of the War of Minor States and most of them seemed changed by the experience. For her part Miyako decided to finally study her clan's specialties, saying only that "they would have been able to save lives" when questioned about her decision.

Now a jonin, Miyako has been asked to lead a team of newly graduated genin. Though some might have doubts about whether the excitable young woman is suitable for such a position, she sure has wisdom of... some kind to impart to her new students.

Once someone is trapped inside the scroll forcing an escape is extremely difficult unless the seal is tampered with on the outside, although the user can voluntarily release someone. If a person remains trapped inside the scroll for long it will gradually start to drain their chakra, using it to reinforce its sealing formulas and produce more skeletal limbs to trap future victims even more effectively.

Kojiro is, to the surprise of most, rather expressive even without Mental Snippet. His emotions and physical gestures are very clear in most cases, sometimes even when he's trying to hide them! Rather gentle by nature in casual settings, he loves simply sharing time with those he likes or cares about. He is an avid lover of nature and animals, especially small, cute animals and plants that look/smell nice. Inquisitive, he openly shows his curiosity in most things he doesn't understand. His tendency to be completely genuine and honest in his thoughts and reactions is at odds with his proficiency in Genjutsu. He doesn't personally have much issue with it, but others disinclination to believe him at times because of it saddens him greatly. He greatly despises being mistrusted or looked down upon.

Biography
The Zanki family are an old family that's progenitor was among the first amongst the Hidden Flower Village's inhabitants. They are highly proficient genjutsu users across the board, and that hasn't stopped since they migrated to Chowagakure a few decades ago. They were not relatively active at first, trying to keep a low profile. But a family with a "curse" of being born unable to speak, with proficiency in genjutsu and Ice Release didn't stay low key for long. The village requested any possible volunteers for shinobi, and eventually they did get what they asked for in Kojiro. While his parents were not themselves shinobi, his grandparents were back in the Hidden Flower Village. They saw in Kojiro the potential to do great things and convinced his parents to put forth his name for the academy.

He was rather excited to go to school and become a shinobi, having idolized his grandparents thanks to all their old shinobi day stories. He found himself proficient in genjutsu, which was a shock to absolutely no one in his family. However, he also ended up being more prolific in ninjutsu than most members of his family had been at his age(much to his grandpa's delight). While he showed early use of wind release, any form of water or manifestation of ice has yet to come to him. His grandparents assure him he has naught to worry about, that he was sure to come into it with more time and training. He was a bit down and doubtful about it though. Something else that left him doubtful of himself was his lackluster stealth skills and ability with tools. While he initially started off moderately passable in both categories, a small growth spurt has made dexterous actions.... tedious. However he has been assured that will pass as he adjusts to his new body size. Thankfully his new found reach and strength lent him solid taijutsu ability.

He couldn't believe it when he learned he was actually ready to graduate the academy. Though he had his doubts about how ready he was, his excitement overrode any such anxieties. He was gonna do right by his family for sure. However his grandparents and parents both stressed that what was really important for him was to find a reason and goal of his own to put his energy towards. He spent weeks trying to figure one out before finally deciding that he'd find it in time. Getting his own team and sensei, as well as starting shinobi work, was sure to help lead him to whatever dream he would dedicate his energy to. For now he's just training, eating, and living life to the best of his ability.

He does this via a rather fluid taijutsu style, a mix of genjutsu trickery to set his opponents to his preferred pace, and striking with the best available weapon when their is a clear opening(whether that's a punch, a shuriken, or a wind blast depends).

An odd and reclusive fellow, Tatsuya Minazuki is widely recognized as one of the finest medical nins in Gunshugakure and yet he always seems to be unwell. Walking with a limp, Coughing fits, pale, clammy skin, Tatsuya evinces all these symptoms although curiously they seem elevated whenever someone he dislikes attempts to talk to him. That being said most people would prefer not to speak to Tatsuya on their own accord, he tends to be blunt and factual to the point of rudeness, caring not at all for ceremony or rank he speaks to everyone with more or less equal contempt.

Though appearing for all the world to be an unrepentant misanthrope, Tatsuya does spend most of his free time overseeing a small clinic in the impoverished Chosen Vale district, where he provides top notch medical care to the locals for a fraction of its true cost. Tatsuya brushes aside any accusations of charity when the topic is brought up, grimly referring to the patrons of his clinic as guinea pigs in his endless quest to refine and keep sharp his medical knowledge. Still the locals are extremely fond of Tatsuya despite his appalling bedside manner so he may not be entirely honest on this point.

Biography

Tatsuya was born into poverty in the outer districts of Chowaku to a single mother. Though very loving, his mother was terminally ill with a disease whose treatment was well out of their reach. The only brightside in Tatsuya's childhood was his natural intelligence and scholarly curiosity, Gunshugakure's administration, at the instruction of the kage, sponsored his entry into the Gunshugakure academy where he first learned about medical ninjutsu and vowed to master it and find a cure for his mother.

Tatsuya proved to be an excellent student of medical ninjutsu, driven and naturally talented he mastered everything put before him with a speed that was unprecedented in the village. Sadly even at this pace Tatsuya wasn't fast enough, his mother finally passed away from her illness not long after he passed his chunin exams. Although he had expressly forbidden it, she had secretly traveled to watch him compete and the exertion likely hastened her death.


Tatsuya was emotionally shattered and buried himself in work to avoid confronting his loss. Barely able to stand being in the village, he applied for a position in the anbu that would necessitate long months away from the village. Once more driven towards his work, Tatsuya excelled in anbu, he continued his study of medical ninjutsu but without the goal of saving his mother turned that knowledge towards darker purposes, developing poisons, genjutsu and other techniques that exploited all the hidden weaknesses and foibles of the human body.

About six years ago, for reasons unknown Tatsuya suddenly resigned from Anbu and returned to the village's standard forces, he also used the earnings he had hoarded from his anbu days, having had little to spend them on, to open a small medical clinic in an impoverished district. Tatsuya came to spend most of his free time assisting at the clinic and it seemed to buy him a small measure of peace. However Tatsuya was still misanthropic recluse by ordinary standards and the Kage spent months badgering him into accepting a jonin instructor position, hoping having some bright eyed youngsters would bring the man out of his shell a little.

Coldly, brutally efficient. Tatsuya uses a combination of genjutsu, poison and fearsome, medically based techniques to strip away his opponents strengths one by one as if dissecting them. Tatsuya can also use his medical knowledge to keep his teammates operating at peak efficiency during a fight, making him an invaluable ally in a support role as well.

    Description: Forming a chakra scalpel the user makes a precise slash through their targets chest cavity, severing a number of vital blood vessels near the heart. Unless the victim avoids or somehow blocs the strike they are likely to die within minutes, however because the cut made is so clean it can be easily healed with medical ninjutsu. If the user is an experience medic they can usually use this knowledge to negotiate a surrender or interrogate the victim, making this a technique that both literally and figuratively places the opponent's heart in the hands of the user.

Paranoid would be putting it loosely. Okuni is a conspiracist, who is sadly gullible, AND intelligent... She will believe anything you tell her, and then put together the facts after the fact. She believes the collapse of the government is inevitable, yet the safest place to be would be trained by them. If she can get the skills needed to survive the oncoming apocalypse, she and her family will be fine.

She tends to freak out fairly easily, believing the Chowakage being onto her being onto him. She runs quickly from most jonin, and is, at the very least, distrustful of anyone of a higher rank than her. Or those of a lower rank. Or the same rank. Anyone could be onto her. Its only a matter of time!

Despite this, Okuni at least does her job... and only her job. She'll finish anything in record time, fear of displeasing those in power running through her at all times. She won't, however, report a job a lone. She has to report with her team. Afterall, people go missing in closed conference conversations!

Biography
Unsurprisingly for her personality, at a young age, Okuni was involved in a government conspiracy. Her father was a high ranking member of the Chowakage's inner council six years ago. He tried to use his position and fame to crush a long time rival, and forged documents to make his rival seem like a traitor. However, a keen eye caught the forgery, and her father was found guilty of treason. Her mother explained what had happened to a young Okuni, however, all Okuni got otu of that was 'government conspiracy', and became terrified. She hated her father! What if they all turned out to be like that ? What if everyone above her was only looking out for their own good?

And so she studied government. Studying on her own gave her weird ideas and a weird detraction from reality. She had the perfect dream though. A utopia. She shared her vision with others! And was promptly laughed at. Mostly because she was at the time a ten year old girl going on about government, and being wrong half the time on her fact in the first place.


Fine, then a utopia required strength. No utopia had ever been built by loft ideas. And so Okuni would be the strongest, so others would follow her. However, she was no idiot, by the time she was ready for a utopia, the government would fall! She needed the toolset to survive this, then she could conquer others after the impending doom!

But first she has to not be caught by 'the man'

Fighting Style
Okuni likes to pretend to be weak while luring an opponent in close, before surprising them with her durability and strength. If that doesn't work, Okui will simply try to outlast an opponent, either blunting their blades with her combs and armor, running out of items, or having them run out of chakra.

This style has a few weaknesses, such as not being very effective against taijutsu experts who can simply grapple her, or AoE attacks that surround the user..

In addition, because cleaning blood is a pain, the clothes absorb it, grouping it together so it looks as if it naturally fades into the fabric, and is part of the design, such as fading from white to red from top to bottom, or darkening at the sides. A sufficiently strong blow against them will release some of the built-up blood in the fabric, so a slash against it will cover an opponents blade with blood. The blood inside the fabric doesn't dry.

It also is still flexible, meaning blunt force still affects the user under it.

Makoto isn't one to take the role of shinobi lightly. Not only is it a dangerous life, but they have a duty to protect their village and those that can't protect themselves. Something he can only hope to ingrain in his students. Despite his strict tendency as a sensei, he does genuinely care for his students and can only hope they grow up in a more peaceful era.

Off duty, however, Makoto is far more laid back. He has a bad habit of second guessing all of his decisions, always wondering if he's made the right choice. All he wants is for his students not to make the same mistakes he made when he was their age.

Biography
Born to a shinobi family, Makoto never gave much thought to following any path except the same one his parents walked. Becoming a ninja made sense to him, he'd be able to protect others like his father or aid them like his mother. Though it quickly became apparent the boy lacked any natural talent. His ninjutsu fizzled out, taijutsu lacked any kind of power, and his genjutsu? What genjutsu? He eventually graduated at the bottom of the class.

Makoto found himself paired with Teinnosuke Mori and Iyona Yamashita and placed under the tutelage of Toru Hisegawa. He got along great with his teammates, playing jokes on sensei with Teinnosuke, flirting with Iyona, and inevitably getting yelled at by sensei.

More often than not he was getting yelled at by sensei.

The years that flew by were good, Makoto would tell you they were the happiest years of his life. Sure, he wasn't gifted like his teammates were, but his constant hard work was beginning to pay off. With help from his sensei, Makoto had created the nintaijutsu style he's known for to this day. The once hopeless academy student was growing into a respected chuunin. Shortly after his promotion, he'd even managed to convince Iyona to go on a date with him, and several more after that.

Makoto, his teammates, and several other Gunshugakure shinobi vanished from the village during the height of the War of Minor Villages, the reasons for which long since becoming classified. He returned following the end of the war with several new scars and far fewer friends. He never spoke about what happened, though had noticeably picked up Iyona's bad habit.

Now in charge of a trio of genin, Makoto can only hope he can prevent them from making the same mistakes he did.

He dominates in a close range with his Phoenix Strike nintaijutsu style and can chase opponents down with Fire Release: Emergence from Ame no Iwato. However, it's his ability to revitalize allies with his fire that earned him the title of Phoenix.

Sadistic in every sense of the word, Sakura takes great joy in her work as a shinobi. At least when it comes to missions involving combat or assassination. She's well known for her tendency to toy with her opponents and draw out fights. There's nothing more thrilling than breaking her opponent mentally, physically, or both time permitting.

Not that her allies are safe from her taunting and teasing. She's quick to intimidate or attempt to get a rise out of them. And should they dare betray the village, Sakura will be among the first to turn her blade on them.

Just how did such a wonderful kunoichi end up named sensei?

Biography
Most of Sakura's past prior to entering the academy is difficult to dig up. Born to shinobi parents, what befell them was long since marked classified leading many to assume they had died on some A or even S Rank mission. Despite her cold and distant attitude, Sakura graduated near the top of her class and was placed under then jounin Ryohei Sakurai.

Under the jounin's tutelage, Sakura quickly proved to be a genius, quickly picking up or just understanding the mechanics of jutsu placed in front of her. Though her teamwork was always... lacking. Paired with Kazou Yamamoto and Kuroki Murata, personalities clashed. Their conflict coming to a head when her teammates vanished with dozens of others one night.

Furious and feeling betrayed, Sakura threw herself more into her work, soon joining the ANBU. With so many shinobi disappearing, there was even more work for those left. The ongoing war also led to a near constant stream of refugees, some were even shinobi that abandoned their villages and posts. Rooting them out and taking their heads became a common mission for the ANBU.

When Gunshugakure's runaways returned, Sakura and several other ANBU were poised to slay the obvious traitors. To their shock, the Chowakage pardoned them. Despite their crimes being forgiving, the ANBU continued to observe their movements for several years. Sakura remains vigilant for their eventual betrayal, never budging on her opinion that they need to be punished for their crime.

Much to her shock - and likely every jounin in the village - Sakura found herself pulled from ANBU and dubbed a sensei. This had to be some kind of cruel joke from her former sensei, right? Well, if not, then she may as well be sure to dye them with her colors.

Sakura enjoys toying with her opponents, taking advantage of her stealth and genjutsu to catch them off guard before cutting them down. When actually taking a battle seriously, she'll coldly take down her target by any means necessary.
Whether she's focused or just playing around, all of Sakura's movements are rhythmic, almost dance-like.

Description: A famed pair of obsidian black jian, it's said the swords were been imbued with lightning when forged, granting enhanced cutting power in a manner similar to the high-frequency vibrations of lightning-based chakra flow. It is this capability that has resulted in these "Fangs" being claimed as the sharpest swords in existence. Even without lightning, they are very dangerous in battle, able to be used in combination with agile spinning movements, sweeping through the targets while the user also rotates.

Shion is a serious girl, who isn't afraid to speak her mind and doesn't have time to waste with the feelings of others. Although she has a few sharp edges, Shion is a responsible and dependable girl, willing to do what is needed of her, for her teammates and superiors. She's vocal about what's on her mind and will often be the first to insult you, but also the first to compliment you.

Although quite small she's never afraid to fight against those larger than her, whether the fight is physical or verbal. She often comes across as callous, but her criticism comes from how she was raised. Her father's constant ideology of "failure is not a option", "keep going till you improve or leave my home" and "lies will not help you improve." When interacting with her superiors she takes a respectful tone, holding her tongue and listening intently to their every word. She keeps up a stern appearance and abrasive personality for most of the time, there are a few weaknesses that crack that persona and reveal her innocent nature.

Delicious food and adorable children are her absolute weakness. Interacting with either her stern face melts to softer features and her eyes sparkle with absolute adoration, even her voice softens. Showering compliments and kindness and even showing bashfulness and a childlike wonder.

Her deepest value is in family and home. As she didn't have a real one of her own, finding a home and a family to settle down with Shion feels at ease and is willing to do whatever she can to protect both.

Biography
Shion was raised to a master swordsman hailing from the land of Wisdom. In the deep winter, the master swordsman returned home with a small child in toe. He named the girl Shion and raised her in his home. Though the master swordsman was young, he chose not to remarry after the death of his first wife. He was a tall, athletic, and broad man. Even though his view of the world was cynical, he was viewed with the utmost respect and had the attention of many members of the village of the marshes.

Shion's origins were never revealed to her or anyone else. Her father never spoke of where he found the babe and never gave her the family name. Heavily sheltered within their home, Shion was not allowed to interact with anyone other than the house staff.

At a very young age, the master swordsman chose to instruct Shion in everything he knew, writing, mathematics, history, and the martial arts. Her father was a relentless teacher, beating the lesson's into Shion with a fury that only a man who'd risked his life on a battlefield could withstand. These were training sessions where the slightest misstep could spell certain death for anyone involved. Though Shion was no ordinary child, her aptitude for learning was incredible. This continued till she was 12. Until one day, out of nowhere, Shion was thrown out of the only home she knew. Unsure of where to go or what to do she decided to travel. Needing to find a new place to keep learning. Following a group of travelers hoping for a new life, Shion found herself in Gunshugaku, living with a family she watched over during their travels.

Her new family were bakers who opened a restaurant in Gunshugaku, with a strange theme of serving women in monochromatic clothing calling their patrons master. Unsure of the theme, Shion supported them and helped prepare the restaurant. Wanting to help more with the settling in, her new family instead pushed her to transfer into Gunshugakure Academy. They believed that she'd do well training as a ninja than working at a Maid Cafe. It took some pull, but Shion transferred in and had quite a bit of catching up to do during her time there. Realizing how many holes her father's education left her with she studied and graduated with a greater desire to learn from this village and those around her. She is far from experienced and is ready to learn more with some hands on experience.

Combat Information.

Fighting style
Focusing mainly in Taijutsu, she uses her blade as a extension of herself. Shion starts with a swift attack, then focuses on defense if her attack fails. Maneuvering in a series of patterns and counters with strong kicks, her goal is to off kilter the attacks of her enemy. Shion focuses on a single take down attack. Any other movement is solely made to assure her attack to be successful. For a samurai this style is adequate, but is difficult during prolonged battles. Her point of attack can be discovered over time and with skill, leaving Shion on the defensive until she changes tactics. Shion's weakness is she lacks versatility and a aggressive nature. In her mindset every battle is a duel. Practicing in Genjutsu and Ninjutsu will help open up her versatility however, she's still learning.

Personality
Kichiga is filled with anxiety through most of his day. He fears death, he fears failure, he fears not being a good enough ninja. This fear has in many ways defined him he has chosen his skills and tactics based on his fear. He deals with others ruled by this fear. He avoids long conversations or saying to much. He fears he will make a fool of himself. This makes him come off as shy but the truth is deeper than that. When he does choose to interact with others it is often premeditated, something he put a lot of thought into to over come his fear. This makes him seem very kind and considerate, and maybe he is as a side effect of his fear. He is anxious and afraid but never cruel or mean.

He has very normal desires and wants in friends and seeming cool, like any child. However he has just repressed them because of his training and the very old school ninja values impressed upon him. He would react quite strongly to offers of friend ship or people finding his skills "Cool" because he finds genjutsu to be a neccasary skill but kind of a boring one.

Biography
Kichiga was raised by his grandfather, he never knew his father and his mother died when he was young. She was a jounin and died in the line of duty. His grandfather retried shortly after making chunin due to injuries. So he was raised knowing he came from a long line of ninja and knowing that he trained underneath his grandfather from a very young age. His grandfather was never a high ranking ninja or one with powerful special techniques and his families blood contained no hidden power. So he was taught the basics, in particular the old schools basics. He was taught to avoid a direct fight and to avoid getting hit. A fair fight is one where you have a 50% chance of dying, why would you want that?

His grandfather helped him learn chakra control, and genjutsu teaching him how to survive as a ninja. Which all of this training may be where his fear and anxiety come from, from a very young age he was taught that his life would be constantly at risk and that he could easily die. In the academy he kept his distance from others. His peers seemed to take the training less seriously than his grandfather would have accepted and he was already ahead of them in many ways. He was an outsider among his peers. He focused on ranged weaponry because his anxiety made him preform poorly in close combat and his training left a distaste in his mouth for big flashy ninjutsu. In time his academy instructor suggested that if he was going to focus on ranged combat, he should pick something to master that does it very well rather than the standard ninja tools. Eventually he settled on the bow as the king of ranged weapons if an odd choice among weapons.


Combat Information
fighting style
Kichiga will always avoid a direct fight. His skills are best suited to stealth and assassination style fighting than brute force. Even if discovered and in an open fight his ninjutsu and genjutsu skills allow him to keep his skirmisher/ranged combat style an option. Using genjutsu clones and ninjutsu mist to hide himself in multiple ways as he shoots arrows or throws the occasionally kunai.

He has two great weaknesses. The first is his stamina using ninjutsu or genjutsu or both this way while running around and shooting a heavy draw bow can be quite tiring, if he doesn't get a lethal arrow hit relatively soon he is likely to lose.

The second is close combat, if someone ever grapples him, or keeps themselves close enough that he can't use his jutsu or bows he is unlikely to have any chance at victory.

Slightly Claustrophobic:
A learned condition he doesn't feel comfortable anymore in an area he can't escape from. He dislikes small rooms because if things became violent his skills are so poorly suited for the fight he would feel helpless.
Privately quite impressed with himself: While he would never publicly show off because anything he can do a jounin can do better, and he would never show off in combat because it goes against everything he has been taught but on his own he tends to showboat, Shooting his own arrows in half, shooting one arrow in an arc then shooting it out of the air. Throwing a shuriken and pinning it to the target with an arrow. Shooting the target while looking away and reading a book held up by a rope. These are the types of things he does because he is still a kid and wants to be cool. He just would never risk his life, or embarrassment to do them in public. Though it is likely team-mates will come across this.

Embarrassing music choice: He loves female pop songs about break ups. They just tend to be incredibly empowering and emotional in a way that resonates him. They often have quite the message of "You don't need anyone your great on your own" which he like with a nice bit of rock.



Favorite Food
Ramen with all of the extra fixings possible, double beef, shrimp, egg add it all.
