『Teamate』
A Tales of Snow & Ice
Ten years ago, Dotō Kazahane—younger brother to the then-Daimyo—assassinated his older brother, lord, and liege with the assistance of Shinobi Mercenaries. His actions were swift and brutally efficient, massacring all other members of the Kazahane Clan and removing any contenders for the throne. With his bloody work done, the Usurper installed himself as the new Despotic ruler of the icy tundra and so things have remained ever since.
When news reached the Great Nations there was shock—outrage! However, in the end, it was all a great sound and fury, signifying nothing. The Great Nations would not move; the news of the conflict had arrived too late and none were willing to risk their own Shinobi, shed their blood, and dedicate their resources, to avenge some nebulous 'justice' in distant lands. The sympathetic could do nothing, other than sigh and lament the unceasing nature of conflict.
The story should've ended like that; a great injustice carried out too quickly and too far beyond the hands of justice. And yet, that is not how this story ends—
Just last week, famous Actress Yukie Fujikaze released her magnum opus: Fūun-Hime no Monogatari, the Tales of Princess Gale. The movie was a smash hit, as one might expect from the premiere Primadonna, but its entertainment value paled in comparison to its political value. This was no mere movie, it was a message, a message to the Land of Snow, to the Five Great Nations, to anyone who would listen!
The curtains had closed on Yukie Fujikaze and had opened on Koyuki Kazahana—the heir to the throne, the rightful successor, the daughter of the previous Daimyo, and, apart from her treacherous Uncle, the last of her blood.
Within days the oppressed people of the Land of Snow erupted into civil war—their hope buoyed by the return of their princess, a legitimate ruler, someone who could save them from the Despotic Dotō.
Surely this had been scripted by some great screenwrite—the Famous Actress Yukie Fujikaze was, in actuality, heir to the Land of Snow, Koyuki Kazahana? Well, regardless, this was an opportunity none could pass up.
The Land of Snow had always been a strange place, always a step or two ahead of the world technologically. Machinery that was rarely—if ever—seen amongst the great nations was practically commonplace: Trains & Airships, Kunai Shooters, and...Chakra Armor. Even if the technological benefits were set aside, any nation that restored the princess (or perhaps puppet) to her throne, and thus had the ear of the future Daimyo of Snow, would be well-positioned to reap benefits both political and economic. Of course, some just sympathized—deeply touched by the princess' harrowing tale of survival and quest for justice, they merely wanted to support the famed actress in restoring her birthright.
Whatever the reasoning, it didn't matter. Shinobi from all walks of life were dispatched and their mission was clear: secure the princess at all costs!
The RP
I intend for this RP to take place in three phases/stages. If those go well, great! We can do another test of interest and see if we want to continue. However, I wanted clearly defined goals, objectives, and an end for us to work towards.
Phase 1: Secure the Princess!
The Princess is more clever than she looks! She didn't oust herself just to put a target on her back, she's also taking the opportunity to test your skills as a Shinobi—to see who has the best chances of taking her home back. Find her and prove that you are the best for the job!
Phase 2: Escort the Princess
Now that you've secured the princess, you must now escort her to the easternmost edge of the mainland and across the ocean to return her to the Land of Snow where you can prepare for Phase 3...
As for those whom the princess didn't choose? Well, you weren't just gonna give up, were you? Time to kidnap a princess!
Phase 3: A Snowy Rebellion!
This is the last leg of your mission, don't falter, and don't let your guard down! Defeat/Kill the Usurper Dotō Kazahana and see the princess ascendant! Beware threats to your escort, if the princess dies now your entire mission would've been for naught...
Rules
- As you might have noticed, this RP lends itself to quite a bit of PvP. So let's establish some ground rules.
- Chakra is not an unlimited resource; please be mindful of its usage.
- Ninja Tools are also not an unlimited resource.
- The substitution jutsu is not teleportation. It is an advanced application of the body flicker technique, not a get-out-of-jail-free card.
- OCs should be at the Chunin Level.
This means they are experienced Shinobi but they certainly aren't Jonin. This gives us a decent level of power to work with without getting into throwing around small mountains as Jonin are wont to do in Shippuden.
Don't know what a Chunin should be capable of? I've provided some examples!- What a Chunin can Do:

- These are all examples of what a Chunin should be able to do without much difficulty. It is by no means the upper limit, just a baseline.
- Where the upper limit of chunin lies is...questionable as Naruto is unfortunately rather inconsistent in its depiction of strength level.
However, prominent examples of Chunin-level combat range from most of the fights in the Chunin Exam, to the fights against the Sound Four.
As a rule of thumb, the Sound 4 in their Curse Mark Stage 2 states & Naruto & Sasuke in the first Valley of the End fight are all 'Chunin level', albeit they're on the higher end of chunin. If your OC is far exceeding those examples, then you've probably created something too strong.
-
- What a Chunin can Do:
- Jinchuriki/Tailed Beasts are allowed, but be warned—no Chunin would have mastery of their Tailed Beast and loss of control comes with catastrophic consequences up to and including the death of the individual—that is what happens when you let a Tailed Beast assume too much control over your body, after all.
- That is to say, the only benefits of being a Jinchuriki will be the passive ones.
Other Things of Note
- This will be somewhat of a free-for-all, with any diplomacy taking place on the field. To that end, please try to keep your OC origins varied, meaning from different villages and factions.
- The Tailed Beasts have been 'equalized'. They will all roughly be as strong as the 8 Tails.
- The time-period we're set in coincides with part 1.
- Some adjustments to the setting are acceptable if they are required for the creation of your OC. For example—
I want to create an OC of "X" Clan but, Oh No! Sorrow of sorrows, Tragedy of tragedies! They've all canonically been massacred/wiped out by this point in time!
(See Uchiha Clan, Kaguya Clan (Kimimaro), Yuki Clan (Ice Release), Kamizuru Clan (Bee User Rivals to the Aburame Clan), etc., etc.)
- Any adjustments to the base world will need to be discussed, preferably within the larger group so we can hash out any potential issues.
OC Creation
I'll be accepting 6-7 Ocs as well as someone to play the princess herself!
If all things go to plan then more OCs may be accepted for future arcs.

Ban List
AHEM—Every warning label exists because someone tried to do something stupid once.
So I will now introduce the Ban List; for now, it is empty.
I would like to assume that I don't need to spell out; but, ridiculous or impossible-to-obtain things such as—the Rinnegan, Using the Byakugan to death touch, absurdly powerful Genjutsu, Otsusuki Shenanigans, Particle Style, etc.—are implicitly disallowed and they will be explicitly disallowed if they need to be.
That's not to say things like the Byakugan & Sharingan are banned; they're perfectly reasonable for a chunin to possess, but certain things are 'feasible' in canon but will not make for a good RP experience and so must necessarily be banned.
Please do not make me fill out this list.
