New Orleans.
Once a place of magic and intrigue, where people would come from far and wide just to experience the magic there. But as of late, New Orleans has become a shadow of its former self. To the naked eye, everything appears as it once was. There are still occult shops, hexes, and a certain mystique in the air that you can’t really explain.
But to the supernatural world, things have changed. A group of vampires has taken over, forbidding witches from practicing any type of magic. A curse has also been placed on the werewolves. Banished to live only in the bayou, they are now unable to turn to their wolf form at all, rendering them basically human. This group of vampires has been in charge for a while now and they have no intention of giving up their status.
The key to breaking the curse and getting rid of the vampires once and for all is the moonstone. The only problem is, the moonstone was lost centuries ago, and no one knows where it is. Still, everyone is after it for different reasons. If they can find it, would the curse finally be broken?
Will there ever be harmony among the supernatural again?

Vampires: They feed and survive on the blood of the living, typically on that of humans though they can survive on animal blood. Any human who has consumed vampire blood in some way and has died with the blood in their system will be resurrected but in order to complete the transition into a vampire, they must consume human blood within the next twenty-four hours. If they don't do so then they will die. Vampires can only feed on human blood in order to complete their transformation—animal blood or vampire blood is not sufficient for this transformation.
Werewolves: The werewolf gene must be triggered by taking the life of a human, either intentionally or by accident. They are typically cursed to transform into a wolf on the night of every full moon although they can obtain "moonshine rings" made by witches to control the transformation and do so at their own will or choose to not transform at all. Either way, they are more powerful in their wolf form and/or during a full moon. Additionally, Werewolves cannot be compelled by Vampires.
Witches: Many witches are the self-proclaimed "keepers of the balance," other witches have been known to use their power for personal gain or use dark magic. Basic abilities are spell casting, channeling, and potion brewing. Other abilities can include pain infliction, element control, telekinesis, illusions, and resurrection (rare & difficult). Witches are unable to be created. They are born with their powers and can grow stronger with practice and focus. Some are more powerful than others. They are typically more powerful than both Werewolves and Vampires but there are exceptions to this.
Compulsion: This is can be done only by vampires but they must look into the eyes of their target. Compulsion can be broke by the vampire who compelled the target's death, them breaking it themselves or in other ways yet to be determined.
Wolf Bite: It takes 24 hours before the poison from this bite works through the system so if left untreated then it can/will kill the vampire who was bitten. The only cure for this is either blood of another wolf (has to come from a wolf of same pack like the one who did the biting) or sometimes witches can counter this with a special remedy (requires certain, hard to find, ingredients).
Daylight Jewelry: This allows vampires to walk in the daytime without being burned by the sun. It is enchanted by witches and they are the only ones who can craft such jewelry.
Moonlight Jewelry: This allows werewolves to control their transformation. These are also created and enchanted by witches only.
Vervain: A toxic herb and a vampire's most well-known weakness. If a vampire makes physical contact with this in any way, it will burn them. If a vampire ingests vervain, the vampire's throat burned and they can also become extremely weak. If a human ingests or holds vervain in hand, pocket, or even jewelry then they are protected from vampire compulsion. It can also be used to weaken and/or wound vampires enough to be easily captured or killed.
Wolfsbane: This herb has the same effects on the werewolves that vervain has on vampires. It's also surprisingly commonly-used by werewolves to drink as a tea on the night of full moons since even with their jewelry they were still cursed to turn unwillingly on these nights. Ingesting it prior to their transformations can weaken them enough to reduce the chances of breaking free from their restraints and hurting someone while they're changed.
Moonstone: This is said to be the only thing that can break the curse placed on the wolves. It has been lost for centuries. In order to use this stone, you would need a werewolf, vampire blood, and a witch to do the spell. It is out there somewhere and everyone wants it.

1. Please be respectful. We love to see IC drama but we don't need or want any OOC drama. If you have a problem or are uncomfortable then handle it like adults or come to one of the GM's so we can try to resolve the issue.
2. Be active! I am not expecting a ton of rapid-fire replies but 1-2 a week would be nice so we can keep this from dying. At the same time, please don't rush anyone for posts because let's face facts...it's annoying.
3. We are fans of quality over quantity so we aren't expecting 10 paragraphs per post but we would like 2-3 at least. NO ONE-LINERS.
4. Romance isn't a must, but it's encouraged/enjoyed by most. With that said, don't break RPN's rules. Fade-to-black if needed!
5. You can make your character(s) vamp, witch, wolf or even human (though we don't want too many humans). I will be setting the limit at 2 per person for now.
6. Once accepted then we will invite you to the discord, which is mandatory so that you can join in our OOC chat & plotting.
