Mysterious World of Fandom (Main Plot)

"True, but if something attacks us... I-" Kanji cuts Phi in mid-sentence. "I got this." Kanji was holding a baseball bat.

The Captain patted the holster at his right. "And I have this," he grinned, amused that it seemed that he was the strongest, at least in terms of physical weaponry. Glancing about his environment, the man asked, "So are we off, or are there more problems to be had?"

Satori gave the man an annoyingly pleasant little smile. "For an outsider, you certainly are capable. Mm...'mutual trust'...it is a concept foreign to you, is it not? I understand the intimate machinations of your heart, Kira, and I know you have no ulterior motives behind your offer yet...aside from the need for my protection, of course," the youkai girl stated matter-of-factly, almost smirking.

Yes, their presences were growing fainter by the second. Now was the time to end this charade. "However, therein lies the problem. I am sorry, Kira, but I truly have no reason to accompany you when better, safer alternatives are available. Perhaps in another life, we would have been partners. I wish you the best of fortune in your quest for survival," she said with somewhat actual genuineness.

"The question remains, now, 'Should I ease your pain and grant you peace from these last few moments?' Or...even possibly...perhaps you wouldn't wish to let go of the strangers you have met,"  she thought, gifting him a rather subtle offer.

Yoshikage Kira

Kira waved away her offer, the thought of bringing those kids back here sickening him slightly.  "I have no use for those children, they can do as they please as long as they don't interfere with my quiet life."  Kira smiled coyly at Satori, as he brushed his slicked hair back with his hands.  "It seems there's no convincing you, so I suppose I'll be taking my leave.  Feel free to do whatever you want, just don't get in my way."  Kira turned and began walking away from Satori, arms at his side like a businessman on his way to work.  Taking a coin out of his pocket, Kira began flipping it as he moved, the same coin that had nearly killed Leon in a mere second.

"Oh, right!" Penny nodded at Keeper's suggestion. It was indeed getting late, and it would be bad if they were out in the open for anyone else to find. Maybe she could settle this dispute of trust soon enough when they find a town. "Let us proceed, shall we, sir?" She offered with a smile, letting the group go forward. . .

Diego Brando

Diego was awestruck, this girl was completely oblivious to his advances!  Either that, or she had turned him down without a second thought.  He prayed that it was the prior, and that he was not just losing his touch."Oh, pardon me!  I had no idea how rude I was being up until now!  It's simply idiotic to ask someone for their name without first giving your own.  I am Diego Brando, London's greatest treasure in the horseracing scene!  Now, I suppose we should be on our way before it gets too dark."  Diego walked alongside Penny, eyeing her up and down to see if there was any noticeable traits about her.  Seeing none, Diego flicked the fingers on his left hand forward, a signal to Rohan to keep following him.  "Now, Miss Penny, would you like to hear one of my many exploits riding horses?  I assure you every one is more breathtaking than the last.

Hol Horse

Hol Horse trudged begrudgingly next to Keeper, who he noticed was aptly keeping an eye on Diego.  He turned his head to his new partner in crime to ask him a question.  "Hey, Keeper, I'm not the only one here who thinks this kid's suspicious right? Ever since I laid eyes on him I've been getting this strange feeling like he knows more than he'd like us to believe.  He gives me this weird sense of deja vu like I've met him somewhere before, but I'm sure I haven't."  He looked back at the two of them chatting, and then back to the big guy who was shuffling alongside him.  "What do you think, he kinda gives you the creeps, don't he?"

"Guess that's the signal?" Rohan muttered quietly to himself as the group passed by his tree and Diego gave a signal. As soon as the distance of 15 meters is in between him and the group, he followed quietly, pretending to be submerged in a comic he's reading, which was actually his in a manuscript. He kept an eye at the girl, Penny, who was actually more innocent than what he expected her to be. Was she used to flattery, he wondered. Making Rohan want to ask the question eagerly, yet their alliance was yet to be forged. Nevertheless, maybe Diego can actually get the answer Rohan needed. . .

"I would be honored." Penny replied, agreeing to listen to Diego's story as they walked side by side. It came to her surprise that the man was a great horse rider. Penny knew what horses are, thanks to the knowledge that her Father gave to her memory, but she hasn't seen one in real life and someone who had rode one for leisurely purposes. She thought that mere princes rode horses according to the fairy tales the General read to her. Penny couldn't help but wonder if this man was a prince, too. Diego's appearance and speech pattern was certainly prince-like, but his clothing was a bit...off. Maybe her knowledge was truly limited to a real girl's.

 Yuuka Kazami

A woman with gradient green hair found herself awake in an open field and gazing at a dimly lit sky. Why was she lying down? Had she actually slept for some particular reason? The last thing she remembered was her garden of sunflowers thriving in the morning light as she tended to their needs. Apathetically, she rose up from the ground, reaching for her parasol while doing so. She opened it and began to flourish it as she brought it to rest on her right shoulder, taking in her surroundings. She must have taken an unexpected nap in the field, which was something she wouldn't have particularly minded if it weren't for one thing that immediately stood out to her:

All of them were gone. Every last one of them.

At first, Yuuka Kazami stared with an absolutely dumbfounded look on her face.  What was once apathy became shock, and now something else entirely—rage.

"Where ARE they?!" she thought with dismay. She turned in a circle desperately only to find a nearby road and a very large forest nearby. Everything looked normal otherwise—she was still in Gensokyo, as far as she knew. No, there's no possible way her field was razed, and that was especially true of the nearby villagers. None of them were truly brave enough to actually try something like that. She was a youkai, after all—someone humans needed to be deathly afraid of.

Now flustered and on the verge of vengeful tears, the flower youkai began to think of all the ways her flowers could have been whisked away from her. "...Of course! This is one of the gap youkai's elaborate pranks," she concluded. She was unsure now of whether to feel angered or sorrowful, but she decided that she must find out about the truth of this disappearance. If this truly was the work of the gap youkai, this would be the start of a major incident in Gensokyo.

She decided to take this situation with grace now. Yuuka leaned over into the field, and a pink lily bloomed forth from the earth. She smiled faintly with her eyes closed—at least she could be happy about something now. She gently plucked the flower from the ground, and by her nurturing nature as a flower youkai, she continued to sustain its life as if it was still planted in the earth. She found a nice place to set it into her hair, and with another spin of her parasol, she strolled over to the dirt road nearby the large forest and began her journey to the human village.

Veronica looks around for a moment again, the man she followed wouldn't be that far away. She kept thinking of who he could've been, it would be strange if he was a Vault dweller, there was only one vault she knew of that wasn't empty or worse.

After some time she said "Hello? Anyone there?" a bit loud, knowing it would alert anyone nearby to her position. She kept her laser rifle in her hands, ready to fire at moment notice should she need it.

Diego Brando

"...And that's why I'll never race in Liverpool again!"  With the ending of Diego's story, he let out a short laugh, brushing the bangs out of his eyes.  While the joviality that came with Diego telling his stories lightened his mood, he was still bitter that he was stuck with these three when they should've been looking for this 'Game Master.'  Regardless, he had to entertain his 'hosts' for as long as he could.  "Miss Penny, I must admit I was charmed by your endearing personality and lovely image.  Correct me if I'm wrong but you must get many suitors back home, no?  I would honestly be surprised if you were to say no."  It's not that Diego was genuinely attracted to Penny, he was simple dumbfounded as to how she resisted his advances earlier.  Was it that she had someone back home waiting for her, or was there someone she held in a higher regard than the great Diego Brando?  Either way, he was hell-bent on finding out why.  Once he had found out, depending on her answer he was considering bothering the other two.

Hol Horse

Hol Horse took a cigarette from his pocket and used his Emperor to light it by shooting it with one of it's bullets.  Exhaling the smoke, his eyes wandered around the nearby scenery, on the lookout for any creatures like they one they had heard earlier.  "Yeah, I know what you mean.  I've been wanting to give him a piece of my mind for quite awhile now.  The minute Penny says he's up to no good,"  mimicking a gun with his index finger and thumb, he mock shot the air in front of him, making a little 'pew' noise.  Remembering what he said earlier, Hol Horse took nothing but offense from the comment.  "And I'm not greedy, and I definitely don't reek!  I bath at least once a day whenever I can!  If I were you I wouldn't talk about smelling, pal!"  He would say, plugging his noise teasingly.

"I get none, actually." Penny replied as Diego asked his question after finishing his story. It was quite hilarious, she couldn't resist chuckling a bit. "It's because I've only been staying under the General's care for almost my whole life . . .It was quite lonely." She recalled her times in Atlas, when she was finished being built and tests was being conducted on her. Mostly about her aura, but she wasn't ready to reveal it to them yet. "But the General has been like a father to me, and I really hope he's okay." She feigned her smile, as she's still wishes to know everyone's state...Even her good friend, Ruby...

@billthesomething

Genuine shock was all that could be used to describe Diego's face.  This girl who had never been courted before dared to dismiss his advances!?  Most girls back in London would be honored to even be in his presence, let alone spoken to.  He was just about ready to call in Rohan, if he could even do anything, when Penny started talking again.  She talked about a general, someone who had treated her like his own child, someone she cared about.  This made Diego think back to his own childhood.  It brought back memories of his mother, which brought nothing but pain to his heart and hatred to his soul.

"Actually, I think I have one more story to tell you.  This is the story of how I came to be a jockey, so I ask that you listen well."  A cloud formed from his mouth every time he exhaled, the temperature had dropped and the sun was starting to set.  Diego felt no need to keep his helmet on with the night approaching, so he took it off and held it at his side.  "When I was young, I lived in poverty with my mother.  We made the stables of a farm our home, where my mother and I would work for petty change tending to the horses and fields.  It was five years after my birth when I discovered I was horse taming prodigy, even the most wild of horses allowed me to handle them.  It was about ten years later that I learned that the man who arranged for my mother's employment had demanded sexual favors from her six years before her death."

Diego spat on the ground at the mentioning of that man, he had made their lives a living hell ever since then and was probably still tending to that farm to this day.  "My mother was a very proud woman, so she refused of course.  The bastard was so mad that he had cut holes into the bottoms of our cups, which we had used to drink soup out of when it finally came time to eat.  We couldn't eat without those cups, and we both knew it.  I had asked my mother if we could pour the soup into our shoes and eat it out of them, which earned me a slap across the face from her."  As he said this, his right hand instinctively went to his cheek, as if he could still feel the sting.  "She told me that no matter how poor we were, we could not forget our dignity.  She told me this with her hands full of soup, she had them poured into her hands for me to eat from."  His eyes began to twitch and his bottom lip quivered, but he quickly used all of his will to stop them.

"I ate from her hands everyday, three times a day, for a month.  Her hands were scarred from having the soup poured into them so much, and a year later she died from a disease tetanus."  Behind closed lips, he grinded his teeth like he often did when the the image of his dying mother lying on her bed crossed his mind.  The pain in her eyes and the bandages on her hands would often haunt him in his dreams.  "Before taking her last breath, she told me to start riding horses once I had grown older, she said it was 'my talent.'"  He had never laid his eyes on Penny throughout the whole time he had been telling the story, he had almost completely forgotten she was there.  With clenched fists, he gazed into the distance as he could feel every footstep bringing him closer to power.  Bringing him one step closer to having his revenge on all those who had forsaken him and his mother.  "That, is how I came to be a horse jockey.  If she had still been alive to this day, I may have been something different.  However, I think even if she was alive she'd still want me to ride horses."

His story was followed by a long silence, a gust of wind blew against his face, and that was when he saw it.  The cowboy that was walking in front of him, a gun had appeared out of thin air and into his hand!  There was no doubt about it, he was definitely a stand user!  He had to tell Rohan, meaning he had to get away from these three.  "Oi, everyone!  I have to use the bathroom, wait here for me until I come back, OK?"  Diego turned around and ran into the forest where Rohan was hiding.  When he had found him, he was running slightly out of breath with his hands on his knees.  "We might have a problem, a big problem.."

The mere story that Diego told Penny was simply depressing and lonesome; His childhood was filled with nothing but pain and sorrow, his mother suffered dearly because of a cruel man which led to her death. 'How horrible...' She thought to herself as she listened to his story, She recalled the citizens who lived in poverty in Vale, children who had rarely any glimpse of joy working jobs. Is this what Diego felt the same way as those children felt? His actions whilst telling the tale looked as if it brought him nothing but rage for the man. Was this grief? Was this anger? She didn't really know for sure. But if sorrow is what brought him inspiration, does that mean that inspiration brought him joy in the field of racing? Penny wanted to ask him, but he said that he'll go to the bathroom first.  and in the forest, probably  searching for a place to do his...'business', as Ironwood would call it.

"Is this what they call...Pity?" She muttered to herself, as if the first time feeling that sort of emotion. She 'pitied' the man for his tragic past, She 'pitied' Diego's mother for going through such hard times. She was genuinely worried about Diego's emotional health now...It was quite unstable, as she noted from the story.

"What is it?" Rohan asked, shifting into the back of the tree as Diego arrived. He was merely 20 meters away from the group, enough distance to hear and observe the trio. He also heard Diego's story, which comfirms what he had read from his memories earlier. He also saw a gun come out of the cowboy's hand...Was it a stand user? He kept his cool, knowing that it wouldn't do a thing if he suddenly used Heaven's Door on one of them. Plus, their backs were turned, meaning he couldn't immobilize them.

Sparklez rolled his icy blue-gray eyes with a sigh. Is this what he felt like to people sometimes? If so, then he really needed to get his act together. Trying to be the only serious one, the Captain resisted a jokingly made comment. Of course, he couldn't help but use it. "If anyone's the shorty here, it's 25-year-old me," he said, referring to his abnormally small stature of five-foot-seven. A minuscule pause followed, trailed by an actually serious statement. "If we're going to set off in order to see if we can find anyone," the man in sunglasses claimed, "I suggest we set off immediately. They could be getting farther away by the second."

Diego Brando

"That man, the cowboy, I've just discovered that he has some sort of power!"  Diego unzipped his pants and began to..  'leak the lizard,' so to speak.  "I don't have much time, those country yanks think I'm out here to take a leak.  If I take too long, they might begin to think something's up."  Diego looked back to see if they were watching him, if they were he'd find it quite weird to be honest.  "While I was talking to the girl, I saw the cowboy light his cigarette with his gun.  At first, I thought it was a normal gun, but I saw it appear and disappear out of thin air.  As far as I can tell, there's nothing special about it, but the fact that he can make a pistol out of thin air is worrying by itself."  What he just told Rohan might not have made sense to him, and that's initially what he thought, but..  "Hey, Rohan.  You saw it too, right?  I don't sound crazy for saying his gun appeared out of nowhere, do I?"  If Rohan had seen that gun, it would confirm a few suspicions Diego had about him, the main one being that he was a stand user as well.

"Trust me...A gun that appears out of nowhere is not the most bizarre thing I've seen." Rohan admitted, for he closing his manuscript. "That thing's called a 'Stand', if I recall correctly. Guess even in other worlds,Users do attract one another." He sighed, staring at the idle group behind a tree. "If I can get them to look this way, I can immobilize them. And from there, you strike." He planned, preparing his pen to summon his stand.

Sparklez advanced behind the two, eyes darting about in pursuit of anything out of the ordinary. Nothing dangerous had reared its head yet, thankfully, but it was worrying that the forest seemed completely barren of life, spare the woodland animals. He listened as closely as he could, hoping to pick up on the sound of at least vaguely human speech. The relative silence was unnerving.

@anyone

Homura was still cautious but she approved of Leon's use of his powers. She silently commended him for thinking of it though for all she knew he used this method all the time. However, her gun remained in hand. Homura was forever cautious.

A moment passed in a pregnant silence after Leon's corpse went in. It seemed to take a few minutes until a crash sounded. Homura glanced at Leon as it was his magic, his jurisdiction. But, to her ears, it didn't sound like it stemmed from a battle and the corpse's groans sounded as annoyed as ever instead of violent. "Are you going to send in another one?" She asked, leaving the alternative of the two of them going in after it. After all, one corpse might be Leon's limit.

@Ammy

(sorry about the shortness but I figured you'd waited long enough XD)

Leon D.S. Geeste

After the corpse began to survey the building Leon knelt down onto one kneed, shutting his eyes as he waited for his minion to return. Surely its body could tell them everything they needed to know. Seconds passed, turning to minutes. Every now and then his head bobbed forward suddenly before jerking back into place as he refused the urge to collapse. His ears twitched in response to the crash, causing him to slowly rise back to both feet. Even with his senses weakened the mage's heightened sense of hearing allowed him to pick up upon it.

"No, I think we'll have everything we need now," he answered, his back turned to Homura as his glazed eyes remained fixated on the building. Slowly making his way to the now open door the creature's continuous groaning became louder. Upon reaching the entrance the boy peeked inside, slowly scanning their temporary haven from all of the chaos this new world had thrown them into. Everything was just as decrepit as he assumed it would be from the outside. A lingering smell of mold filled the air, and several books of varying natures were scattered throughout the room, all rotted away from the collective effort of time and weather. Small pieces of scattered glass, tile, and support beams lay across the floor from the damage to the structure's foundation. At the center of it all lay the zombie that Leon had summoned underneath a freshly made 'window' to the upstairs. Surrounded by debris and a newly disturbed cloud of dust, the tip of its now dismembered left foot could be seen just out of the monster's reach.

"I suppose the upper level is off limits," Leon suggested, taking no pity toward his minion's suffering. With an almost bored expression on his face he opened his book once again and activated the circle on the page in front of him. The monster's groaning quickly turned into an excruciating shriek of pain for a brief moment before it melted away, any hint of its physical body fading in a black mist before dissipating entirely. "I think we're safe from an attacker at the very least."

(It's all good. Take as long as you need. In this for the long term anyway.)

She gave the thing a dispassionate glance when it cried out in pain. What exactly was that thing, Homura wondered briefly and absently. It didn't matter, of course, but curiosity was a strange thing. Was it made from an existing person? Or was it something else? If it was a person, then did it used to be Leon's enemy? How useful power that would be. Homura didn't ask her companion any of this but instead stepped forward onto the rickety floorboards, avoiding the sunken in and cracked places. Her purple orbs roamed over the wreckage carefully, already picking out the spots to steer clear of and the possible places to set up camp.

Several feet in front of them was the stairs, which were surprisingly still intact enough to climb up. It was the railing that was missing for the most part. To the left was an open space save for a few items here and there but a lot of the walls were broken down. The right was more broken, stemming from the upstairs being introduced to the downstairs. In all honesty, the damage didn't seem to be done naturally and from the elements. Instead, it seemed as if a fight had taken place. A fight that had been long ago, from how nature had taken over.

At Leon's comment, Homura agreed silently until she thought she heard a small creak coming from the upper level. She glanced up, but brushed it off as her imagination.

Diego Brando

"You know about stands?  Never mind, that doesn't matter now, what matters is those three."  Diego looked back and examined them with his raptor's eye.  The cowboy, Hol Horse, was the stand user among them.  If his stand was a gun, then he'd probably want to attack from a distance.  Then there's the big one, I doubt he has a stand too, but something that ugly has to have something up it's sleeve.  And then there was Penny.  As far as he could tell she was a normal girl, but he knew better than to judge books by their covers.  If it came to it, he'd have to use Scary Monsters on her as well.  "Alright, I'm going back to them now.  If you can immobilize them like you said you could, then you can leave the rest to me."  Diego zipped up his trousers and made his way back to the group, rubbing the back of his neck and laughing.  "Sorry I took so long, I was just having some zipper troubles."

Rohan nodded as Diego decided to return to the group, submerging into the sea of trees once more as he made sure no one would spot him from afar thanks to his distance. Rohan soon started walking slowly, making sure that he didn't make a sound while closing off his distance from the group.

15 meters. . .10 meters. . .5 meters. . .

He was nearly behind Diego, hiding behind a tree as he opened his manuscript once more. Heaven's Door can be activated in two ways; one of them is summoning the stand by drawing on thin air, while the other is to use something which he drew on; mainly manuscripts.

"Shall we-" Penny soon noticed a piece of paper with drawings on it 5 meters behind Diego, and what happened next surprised her. She couldn't take her eyes off the piece of paper, and her body began to feel numb and weak. "What is...?" Before she could finish her sentence, she felt two rips on her face, causing her to be knocked unconscious, causing her to fall on the floor face first. Pages seem to open out of the rips. Penny had turned into a book.

"Heaven's Door. Turn them into books." He muttered, as he made sure that everyone who noticed the manuscript felt the rips on their skins rip and turn into books. Since it was 5 meters behind Diego, he doubted it would miss their attention.

Leon D.S. Geeste

Once again Leon's ears twitched at the sound of the creaking, but he placed no focus on the incident. This building was literally falling apart so something like that wasn't a particularly strange thing to happen. Approaching the smashed remains of a desk he sat beside it, setting his tome down in front of him. This was hardly ideal but between all of the wreckage and openings within the building, he was willing to accept this as a place to rest.

"I've heard him before. That 'Gamemaster'," Leon stated, his voice now soft as he was embarrassed to admit this fact. If nothing else this would be his way of thanking Homura for helping him, finding himself unable to bring himself to bring about the words. "I just can't remember where. I want to say he might be an enemy of mine. I knew them as Wise Men, because apparently these clowns just can't come up with a name that doesn't stroke their own egos."

Shutting his eyes, he could feel a throbbing pain throughout his skull as he tried to remember exactly, the lingering effects of both Killer Queen's explosion and Bites the Dust as well as their captor distorting his ability to differentiate events in his past. Everything from the last several hours had blended together to a degree, causing him to have a great deal of doubt in his own involvement over his own actions. If what he believed were correct then he would have been at least partially responsible for dragging both his new ally and that sociopath here. With a defeated sigh, he opened his eyes once more and noticed a single book peeking out from the broken rubble of the desk and various other bits of the building. Grabbing onto the object, Leon grunted as he used what very little strength he had to pull it out, wiping off the dust from the cover with his sleeve.

"Two?" Leon mumbled, staring down at the object. A hardcover journal with a red and gold color scheme, thick from the sheer amount of pages contained within. It had the number "two" printed on the front in bold, black ink. Perhaps strangest of all was the logo of a golden hand in the center. While at a mere glance it seemed normal, upon closer examination it had six fingers. Excitedly flipping open the book, Leon's expression quickly dropped to that of disappointment when he discovered that the pages within were blank. "Of course it wouldn't be that easy." He said bitterly, shutting it with a thud. Still, something about this felt unique. Compelling, even. Determined to discover what this may have been he slipped the object into an inside pocket of his lab coat, looking back to Homura after.

"I'm just gonna rest for a bit. Maybe an hour or two." Leon stated, his voice becoming increasingly quiet as his energy finally began to dwindle down to its last reserves. "I know what I'll be doing after that, but what about you? Do you have a plan?"

(Ack. Made you wait a bit. Combination of the flu and my own forgetfulness got me. Sorry!)

As Diego began walking back towards the group, he noticed that something had caught Penny's attention.  Knowing her it was probably just a bird or something, but Diego figured it would be worth a look.  Just as he was going to turn his head, he could hear Rohan muttering something with his superior raptor-like hearing.

"Heaven's Door.  Turn them into books."

Something about those words bothered Diego, he felt like he had heard them somewhere before.  The memories came rushing back all at once, when he really first met Rohan, when he used his Heaven's Door on him back them, crippling him to the point where he had nearly died.  Bubbling rage began to build up inside him, his teeth were gritted to the point where he felt like they were going to shatter into bits.  With his fists clenched at both sides, he felt like he was going to bust a vein out of pure anger.  "Rohan Kishibe.."  The horse jockey slowly turned around, recalling what he could about the powers of his stand.  As far as he could remember, Diego would have to be able to see his stand in order for it's affects to take place.  Diego had completely turned around, now facing Rohan.  His eyes were closed, but the pure hate that he felt was clear as day on his face and in his words.  "I, Diego Brando, will make you regret ever making a fool out of me!"

His cheeks began to horizontally split in half, revealing the razor sharp teeth behind them as he charged at the manga artist.  His feet had completely changed into that of an Utahraptor's and he was quickly growing it's tail.  His newly transformed legs were giving him the burst of speed he needed to quickly close the gap between them.  Stopping for just a split second, he bounded into the air with claws at the ready, his menacing shadow looming over Kishibe.  Without his sight, Diego would have to rely on his sight and smell to take care of this pathetic ingrate, which didn't bother him in the slightest.

WRRRRRRRYY!!
