Dante raised his hand a little higher, letting the light that dims from his hand continue to glow, it isn't much but, it's something.

He started to wonder, what creatures could be in a castle that would fly? Either creatures with heavy magic abilities, or creatures with such intelligence to make this possible. Maybe this isn't evil at all? Maybe this castle is actually saving us? He shakes his head and thinks to himself, 'stay focused.'

He looks left to right, wanting to be some sort of use at the moment, yet stealth isn't really a thing he's really good at. Especially if he's emitting light from his hand. However, there seems to be nothing to hide in this room, it was just a very large room, or is it?

"Do you think it's an illusion spell?" he says as he looks around, there has to be something in this room. A trap, or something magical in here.

Maybe it's just a room for decoration.

Amity entered in after a couple others had, a smile brandished seemingly permanently on her face. She just couldn't hide her happiness and excitement to explore this beautifully built castle. But, when she got a peek inside the first room, stalking into it after a few others, she almost felt her heart drop, but knew her mind started racing, deducing possible ways that such ghost lighting could exist, or why the massive room was so... empty. Maybe it would transform into something if someone made a wrong step? Possibly, or maybe even the room was designed to hide the secrets of the castle?

That'd be exciting. But of what she could see, the insides were not.

"Whatever. We can welcome ourselves in anyway..."she stated aloud, words echoing and bouncing around the room. "Should we just head towards the door on the other side? It's not as if standing here will do us any good in such an expedition." Amity added with haste.

Her warm brown eyes glanced around, looking out for reassurance from anyone, if they agreed with her idea. After all, even due to this short period of time with nothing much happening, she was already impatient and getting unsteady and fidgety. Her mind tried to expel and waste some time whilst the place was silent by playing stupid games with herself. Although, they were quite entertaining...

The group start to walk towards the door on the other side of the room, some cautious of what might happen in such an empty room. Once they were half-way, however, the lighting of the room became dimmer just a bit way too fast. Then it came; pitch black and complete silence. After a chill in the spine later, a much more different form of light came. A spherical object appeared in the middle of the room, hovering silently. The brightness was fine but reaches only far enough to see both the door where the group came from and where the group are heading towards. One won't be able to see the corners of the room nor the ceiling. For some reason, the temperature noticeably dropped and the air suddenly sent a metallic scent, which could be familiar to people who know what red liquid I, the narrator, am talking about.

Without warning, you feel the shake of the floor a single time. One could slip of the suddenness. Maybe not since it wasn't too strong. In either case, what was that?

Event!!!

(Check the Mechanics Tab. It now has slightly added information.)

Dante feels the minor shake happen. He feels such cold air, as if a wraith has possessed him. The air, it's different. Something isn't right, something is wrong, question is. What is it? He looks right to left, nothing but the dark. He turns and continues to scan the room until he sees a light emit from something, seeing light shine from... his eyes scan the room until he spots a orb. He points over to the orb. (Action, signal the team the position of the orb that appeared.)

"What is that?"

Vasolev rummages through his pack of ingredients and pulls out a vial of holy water, as well as a sprig of rosemary and Morte Pteride (a necessary component for certain potions and an herb that can ward against ghosts, and when mixed with holy water, makes a simple solution that is particularly harmful to undead and has a mild effect on demonic creatures) and unstoppers it, crushing the fern-like herb into the bottle.

(Action: preparing the concoction referred to in common parlance as "Vampire's Bane")

While cautiously walking across the room, the floor shakes once. Wa'rek tightens his grasp on his Axe and quickly searches the room for threats. Grunting as he could identify no enemies, just the floating orb. Slowly, a devious grin stretched across his face. Chuckling he says "Let us begin our journey" settling into a battle stance and placing his bag behind himself. (Action: Getting ready to defend/attack against anything that may pose a threat)

The sudden shudder in ground, the change in lighting and temperature and the metallic scent were enough to trigger Hyperclaw. Being an experience raider, he knew what would follow next. He used telepathy.

Everyone get behind me. Something is here. Do not engage it blindly.

Action: Casts Guard which increases the group defence by 20% for five minutes.

He readies his shield and sword. He spreads out his legs a bit for a defensive footwork.

From inside the dimly lit room, another inhuman sound followed - a noise that came from within their own ranks. Talia forced down the reacting growth with her other arm, the parasite detecting the scent of blood. "I-It's getting hungry already?" she stammered under her breath, attempting to keep the writing creature under her control. "Stop! Stop that right now!" she hissed at it. The tendril settled a little bit but continued to move, eagerly shifting its weight toward the source of the alluring aroma.

Near the front, Eli took careless strides alongside his golem, its shield at the ready.

"Getting a little frosty in here," he thought with chattering teeth, pulling his robes closer. Adjusting his glasses, he glanced up at his massive construct of ice and pondered for a second. "Huh. Wonder if that's my fault?"

Yulan remained silent for time being, mentally reciting his mantra of oppression to ward off any sudden strikes against him. With that, he reached into a pocket and casually peeled open a candy wrapper and popped the sugary confection into his mouth. He kept his staff rested on his shoulder, arched back slightly to take a swing at anything that decides to get uncomfortably close.

"Fair enough," Yulan transmitted via thought with a wry grin, "but what if the threat emerges at our rear? All of our defenses are up front."

@Cez Bloodblade

"Yes, I was worried about that. It is unlikely for monsters to attack from behind, that too after we just crossed the other room. Their intelligence level is low. However, if we were to face such an enemy, it would be a problem. Can you shift you golem to the back? Everyone, form a circle with our backs to each other. Enchanters and Alchemists stay in the middle of the circle. The golem and I will tank the front and rear. The dragon siblings, please take care of flanks with a fire barrier spell. Everyone focus on defence for now. "

The twins followed the group markov beside his sister looking g around as the room began to get darker and darker each time,soon the cent of metal was strong,well for them it was. Markov felt the shake and he wield his massive blade and hold it with one hand as it laid over his shoulder,he look around and heard the great red knight stay behind them....pfft....well...hmm...this time he will for the sake of the rest, he sigh and would say telepathically as he heard the knight speak...he seem to be rather smart now was he? "Yea got it,sis ya know what to do"He said as he would turn left and make sure he was front of the group and the others behind him and watch,Maria would just nod as she would quickly stand behind his brother and stay with the others in the middle,with her staff in hand she began doing waves in the air with it and chanting draken words,it will take some time to cast this spell as it was complex compared to others but the barrier will be long and tall enough to at least each of there sides. she was looking the opposite side of her brother being The right of the group,her brother stood watch at the left as she cast the barrier on the right {Casting "Flame Barrier" One turn till Cast} Markov stood put at the left of the group,he look side to side and narrow his eyes keeping watch ready to slam his sword if a target approach "I got the left guard up,Maria is casting a Fire Barrie at the right but will take time so keep an eye out till she is done with that side.Once done she will cast one on my side and i will move to the right and guard it up and she takes the left for me,whatever it is....i am gonna make sure to give it a fill of sword..."

@Cez Bloodblade

{Action!}

Markov=In Counter/Guard-Ready stance at the left

Maria=Casting Fire Barrier at right: One turn till cast complete

{Rage BR}=Empty at 0%

....................

Action Phase!

Dante: Since he pointed it out, the group can identify the glowing orb more clearly:

  • It looked like it is made of glass.
  • About the size of a door.
  • It emits a bright, white light.
  • It is in the exact center of the room.

Vasolev: The "Vampire's Bane" is now ready. Can now be used next turn.

Wa'rek: Battle stance and position boosts attack and defense, whilst losing odds of being surprised by sudden things.

Hyperclaw: Team defense boosted. Commands team for position. Gains Leader Status.

Eli: Golem stationed behind the group. Team defense boosted.

Markov: Protecting group's left side. Team defense boosted.

Maria: Casting a Fire Barrier on group's right side. Will be ready next turn.

Everyone else: In the center of the circular group. Chances of being the target reduced.

GROUP: Defense boosts dramatically due to proper positioning. Less opportunity for enemy engagement.

(
Hyperclaw - Leader: This character's buffs to the team have a higher effect. Character will also be likely targeted by enemies)

(If there is an error, please kindly complain at the OOC. There will be very good chances a problem might occur)

Enemy Phase!

The room stayed quiet. Eerie even. As the group positions for defense, a loud explosion happened in the darkest corner of the room. The dust of stone flew around the room first. Then it came:

They smell of the same scent and two others followed. Because of the dust, no one can tell how many more might be hiding. They make no sounds and start shambling towards the group with a slow start. Drips of blood fall steadily from parts of their armor to stain the stone floor.

Without warning, three more explosions came and three more ghouls soldiers appear in each corner, heading for the group. Each group went towards each side.

Eli was only slightly alarmed by the horde of armed creatures advanced on their location. Resting one hand on his hip, he snapped his fingers and commanded the golem: "Ice 'em." The frozen construct leaned over the wall of its great tower shield and let a powerful breath of cold at the oncoming wave with the intent of freezing them in their tracks and making the ground unstable to tread upon. As much as Talia wanted to assist, the parasite had gone dormant for the time being - with the others on guard, it wasn't in immediate danger and it had little interest in consuming flesh that looked to be long decayed. If it didn't eat soon. . .

In the inner circle of the formation, Yulan took a similarly casual stance. He wasn't particularly eager to join the fray just yet. First and foremost, he wanted to observe what the others were capable of.

Hyperclaw grinned at the sight of enemies. He was right, this was no mere illusion. He longed for a good battle and he's got what he wished for. He was glad that the group listened to him. If they went their own way, it would have been disastrous. Now with the group positioned properly and the enemies approaching head on, there was only one thing to do.

Action: Use Provoke. Increases his chance of being targeted. All the mobs within a radius of 100m are prone to direct their hostility towards him.

The guard was still on, so he could take on the ghouls without losing much HP. He had a plan to eliminate them. He used telepathy.

Markov, when the ghouls attack me, burn them. I want to see if they lose more HP to the golem's freeze attack our your fire. That way we can figure out their weakness. Attack the one which is attacking me but not being attacked by me in return. Since, my attacks can burn them too, it will be erroneous to calculate from the one I attack. Maria, once you are done with the barrier, buff Markov's attack. Dante please heal me if my HP goes below 40%. Others, if you can buff our attacks, do it. First buff the golem's attack. Then you can focus on me. However don't break your formation. If the enemy breaks the circle, it's as good as over.

Vasolev runs up to Hyperclaw.

"Show me your sword."

He applies about a third of the Vampire's Bane to Hyperclaw's weapon, then proceeds to Markov.

"Nomeno shafaer dout cayosin. Tir coi temep."

Vasolev hands the bottle to Markov and then takes it back when he's finished.

He then applies the last of the concoction to his own weapon and moves to the center in case some of the enemies get past the vanguard.

"This... Definitely isn't a feast. Damn it Bob," Bart muttered as the creatures advanced. He summoned a small ball of fire in his palm, blocking out the telepathic conversations taking place in his head.

He briefly considered making a run for it, but decided against it. Safety in numbers, for now.

He took up a position near the person he recognized as the man to have originally pointed out the orb, which was kinda creepy by the way.

Dante stayed in the middle of the group, feeling like he should do something useful for his team. Yet, he doesn't have anything useful at this moment. Dante should have rethought his strategy on what spells to go over. He just gives a disappointing look as he stays standing. He then realizes the situation he is in. Why are you thinking like that? This is a life or death situation here! Dante grabs his holy symbol with his right hand and gives it a tight grip. Getting ready to cast a spell whenever his allies are in need of assistance.

"Hyperclaw, I notice your authority but would it not be smarter to conserve magic?" Wa'rek mentioned. "Ilneval knows how long this battle may last." Wa'rek shifted his weight, looking deeply into the empty, lifeless eyes of the ghouls who shambled towards him. "To turn and run now is a sin , not only to yourself but to your brethren. I will cleave any cowards who dare to run in half!" he shouted, tightening his already vice like grip on his weapon. His gaze still unwavering at the ghouls approaching.

Hyperclaw understood that Wa'rek had a valid point. However he overlooked something.

"You are right about conserving magic. However, we are attacking with basic skills and we're doing it to test them out on the targets. We cannot rely on untested magic when push comes to shove. Moreover, if we use magic early on, it will meet the cooldown requirements at the right moment. Also, it is best to damage them with magic before melee as we are not aware of their attack and defence power. It would be risky to engage in close combat without having a clue about our target. But fret not, I'm personally attacking them head on as I have the highest defence. So Dante's healing spell will be used only during critical times. And the buff spells aren't continuous spells and I'm asking for a one time buff. So, as a result, magic is being conserved too.

But if you want, you are free to engage in melee combat. Just make sure that it doesn't become counter-productive."

"Hey i dont need to do it my fire attacks are weak...im all up and front,if you want fire once my sis is done with the barrier she can burn up for you and as she dose i will protect the side that is not being guarded instead of leaving it defensless,Belive me Maria can cast them quickly when its a attack, and pluss she cant buff us,only herself and heal us and ofcourse cast lots of flame spells"He mention as he look away he would extend his hand and grab the bottle that was thrown....like a bad ass...Just kidding sorry..But as he grabs the flask he would pass it on his blade only for it to give a menacing slightly red glister and after that he gave it back to Vasolev and nodes towards him as seems this man really had a arsenal of bottles....heh this was VERY nice to have around! lucky they had him but what impress him most that this man...speak Draken..Markov look at him for a little and said "Once we are done here,we have to talk...But thanks",he smiled as they where just undead....like level one enemy's he could run around and slice and dice but this was unknown to him if they did anything special.

Soon maria would raise her staff up high in the air and Tall Flaming pillars erupt from the right,From there side ,being behind it, they could feel the warm air and how the Pillars light up a large size of the room...but of course not everything. The wall would surely stop any one that tries to come through it. But as soon she would see her brother snap his fingers and point at hyperclaw,she nodes and would stand behind him as she began to chant short words as her staff slowly gain a flaming aura She was preparing "Flame Stream" and being a short attack (Tier 1) she could cast it immediately. Maria stood ready to let go of a stream of flame once Hyperclaw is attack by the undead.

@Cez Bloodblade @Cadenach

Markove would stand on the left side that dint have a barrier and stood in a defensive stands ready to strike any that came close...His blade glister red thanks to the flask Vasolev provided. Maria was behind Hyperclaw ready to let go a stream of fire towards the one who attack him first. Markov was ready to go out there and slice some bags! But....the darkness would make it hard...so he rather for now stay put.

1.Markov Used Vampire's bane from
@Cadenach

2.Markov stands guard at Left

3.Maria finishes casting Flame wall at Right

4.Maria stands behind Hyperclaw ready to cast "Flame stream"
