How's it going, happy holidays! Now that the festivities are dying down, I have an itch to be in a My Hero RP. However, the site looks dead for this setting. Someone has to be that guy, so I nominate myself as the sacrificial lamb.
The story will begin at the U.A entrence exam... What happens next? Idk, join the RP or just stalk the pages and find out. I don't want to give things away, just know that I'm dedicated to providing an interesting, dynamic RP that has a fair mixture of action, dialogue, development, teamwork and interesting villains to fight against. The premise of the overall story is what you'd expect in the setting with shadowy villains and dangerous hench men but again, I don't want to spill beans and ruin surprise factor.
We will RP as students for the most part. However, people that demonstrate a high level of activity and drive can get a secondary character that's a teacher. The amount of time doing stuff inside of class rooms is roughly zero for the main story, but there are adult characters and me managing all of them at once is burnout city. There will be practical classes of course, but no literal class work.
Requirements are pretty light. Literacy is a must, we have to know what you're saying. However, I do not require very high level writing ability. As long as you can manage your characters actions and dialogue without your writing breaking down then we should be fine. At the end of the day what matters is everyone having a good time and the story moving forward, we don't need to write some collective masterpiece.
Length requirements are contextual. If a short dialogue response is the most natural thing for the post then write it (if someone asks how you're doing for example, I don't expect a diatribe). However, if the context demands more content and you fail to provide it on a consistent basis, I'll shoot a DM for you to adjust. In general just try and have common sense about how much you should write. I don't like imposing length requirements, people end up fluffing posts just to meet GM expectations (two paragraph responses to someone saying good morning LOL)
Post amount requirements...
I would love to have at least one post a day, but not everyone has time for that. Do what you can and if it's not enough I'll DM you. I will not force the pace of the RP with some ass pulled number but if the RP is stalling because certain people aren't posting then I'll step in.
As far as how this RP will be run I have a few things I need to say in advance.
1. I am open to critique. If you have something to say that can actively improve the RP then please tell me. HOWEVER Im the GM, I'm going to be the one putting in hours a day. If I say no, do not add to my stress levels. Accept the no and move on. If you have a serious issue, DM me but do not make a public fuss over some small mistake in my RP construction, RPs thrive off of good Vibes and people having fun, if heads will butt, do it where it doesn't spoil the mood.
2. This RP will have plenty of player choice, and what you do will impact the story, but it will be managed, like a table top game. Sandbox RPs sound great on paper but in my experience they never last more than a page or two. There will be a structure to this RP with a story start to finish, a world and a story that you can live within and impact, but again, you're within that story and world. If you're looking for a wide open sandbox to do whatever you'd like, then this may not be your ballgame. There will be some sandbox elements for those interested, but those will be secondary.
3. Please do not test the lines of power limits. I will not disempower people that want to join. I encourage strong powers if that's what you want. However, do not test the limits I set. Do not make me say no multiple times. Do not make me cut half your character. I don't like being the bad guy.
