Jon Delores (WIP)


Age: 18


Skin: Werewolf


Looks & Personality: Beautiful in every sense of the word. Wavy black hair that's just so casually unkempt that dangle in front of his fierce but sad blue eyes. Skin the color of amber, a perfect straight nose and kissable lips. Too bad he's a total asshole that's more willing to push you down in the playground than play prince charming. Jon isn't smart enough to use his good looks to his advantage. He's purposefully obtuse, risky, and mean. He doesn't want to be your buddy, he just wants your lunch money. He's Italian American and speaks the language but he doesn't find it very useful where he lives, he has no accent either. 


He grew up in a suburban dream with his PTA mom, Charlotte, and sweater vest wearing dad, Vinnie. They're the Sunday church type of family and always bring Jon along whether he wants to or not.

Sex Move: When you have sex with someone, you establish a spirit connection with them. Until either of you breaks that spirit connection, by having sex with someone else, add 1 to all rolls made to defend them. You can tell when that connection has been broken.


Darkest Self: You transform into a terrifying wolf-creature. You crave power and dominance, and those are earned through bloodshed. If anyone attempts to stand in your way, they must be brought down and made to bleed. You escape your Darkest Self when you wound someone you really care about or the sun rises, whichever happens first.


Skin Moves:


Unstable: When you become your Darkest Self, mark experience.


Primal Dominance: When you harm someone, take a String on them.


Heightened Senses: When you rely on your animal instincts to make sense of a charged situation, roll with dark. On a 10 up, ask the MC three questions. If you act on one of the MC’s answers, add 1 to your first roll. • On a 7-9, ask one: } Where’s my best escape route or way in? } Which enemy is the most vulnerable to me? } What’s their secret weakness? } What poses the biggest threat to me? } Who’s in control here?

Lucas Day

Age: 17


Skin: The Infernal Ghost


Looks: Lucas has burning blue eyes and a permanently tense look about him. You can usually finding him leaning against something, wearing a close fitting hoodie, some band's t-shirt, a beanie, and slim black jeans. He has an athletic build and an attractively slim face, and usually has a cigarette somewhere upon his person when not in school. His olive-colored skin complements his dark, lightly wavy hair, which he keeps permanently tousled.


Personality: Lucas is an obvious loner, and usually keeps to himself. He generally keeps most contact transactional, and can be confrontational if someone refuses to leave him alone.


Stats & Moves


Sex Move:  When you have sex with someone, you both get to ask a question of one another’s characters. This can be spoken by your character, or simply asked player-to-player. The other person must answer honestly and directly.


Darkest Self: You become invisible. No one can see you, feel you, or hear your voice. You can still affect inanimate objects, but this is your only avenue of communication. You escape your Darkest Self when someone acknowledges your presence, and demonstrates how much they want you around.

Can't Save Myself: When somebody saves you from forces too powerful for you to reckon with, they mark experience, and you gain a String on them.


Unresolved Trauma : Whenever you project the blame and trauma of your death onto your current situation, roll with dark. On a 10 up, give two people the blamed condition. On a 7-9, give up to two people the blamed condition, but for each, choose one:
} You gain the delusional condition,
} You can’t speak during this scene,
} You suffer one harm,
} You start re-enacting the scene of your death.



Hungry Ghost: You find sustenance in sadness. When others dump their emotional problems on you, roll with dark. On a 10 up, they lose all their conditions, and you choose one:
} Mark experience,
} Carry one forward,
} Gain a String on them
On a 7-9, they choose one:
} They lose all their conditions,
} They gain a String on you



Advancement Moves:


Unashamed: You can give someone a String on you to add 3 to your attempt to turn them on.


Entrenched: If you and another character have a total of five or more Strings on one another, gain one to all rolls against them.

Merrill McFlynn


Age: 18


Skin: Witch


Personality: Merrill Is mild mannered and attempts to be as friendly as possible, although it emotionally drains her after time. She enjoys nature and learning and strives to get acceptable grades. She hails from Ireland, having come to this school as an exchange student (her parents––Patrick and Bonnie McFlynn, and younger brother––Doyle, still live in Ireland) and lives with an elderly couple named Carl and Lynda Grover who conveniently have no idea what sort of things she is up to. 


She expects a lot of herself such as control, temperance, and to have a default of kindness––all of which are often provoked. She tries dearly to not show when she is hurt or when she is thinking negative things about herself or others, which often surfaces as a forced smile and avoided eye contact. To say the least, she is an open book when she desperately prefers to be closed. She enjoys hexes almost as if it is a stress relief, but tries hard to direct her hexes towards people she thinks deserve them.


Looks: Pale skin, white enough to see the veins under her skin, creating an almost transparent look. In contrast is her pitch black hair, inherited from her mother, and dark green eyes. She often wears a bohemian/hippie style attire, as both of her parents enjoy the practice of witchcraft especially when hippie culture is involved (ie: admiring nature and all types of life, flowy personalities, "going with the flow"). 


She tries to learn such mannerisms from her parents, but being at this school has tested her patience and strung her out quite fast, giving her a slightly withered look to her. She's average height and lithe, and her black hair is often tied into some sort of updo or into a sloppy braid over her shoulder.

Sex Move: After sex, you can take a sympathetic token from them. They know about it, and it’s cool.





Darkest Self: The time for subtlety and patience is over. You’re too powerful to put up with their garbage any longer. You hex anyone who slights you. All of your hexes have unexpected side effects, and are more effective than you are comfortable with. To escape your Darkest Self, you must offer peace to the one you have hurt the most.


Skin Moves:

  • Sympathetic Tokens: You gain power from sympathetic tokens - items of personal significance that you take from others. Each sympathetic token counts as a String.
  • Hex-Casting: You can cast Hexes. Choose two that you know. To cast them, either expend a sympathetic token during a secret ritual, or meet the target’s gaze and chant at them in tongues. Then roll with dark. On a 10 up, the Hex works, and can easily be reversed. On a 7-9, it works but choose one

    the casting does you 1 harm
  • the Hex has unexpected side effects 
  • trigger your Darkest Self.

Sanctuary: You have a secret place for practicing witchcraft. Add 1 to all rolls you make within this space.


Binding: The person cannot physically harm others


Illusions: You have no control over the exact images or manifestations.


Wither: The person loses all of their hair, or their teeth start rotting and falling out, or their period comes and it comes by the bucketful, or their skin gets all sickly yellow and spotty. Whatever the specifics, it’s bad.

  • One of the others caught you rummaging through their friend’s stuff, but kept quiet. They get a String on you.

Personality: She's outgoing, pretty and smart although she lacks many friends because of her pregnancy last school year. Lately she's been pretty private and a tad broody

You escape your Darkest Self when you’re put in your rightful place, by someone more powerful than you.


Skin Moves:


Hypnotic


You can hypnotize people who have no Strings on you. Roll with hot. On a 10 up, they do exactly what you wish and have no idea that anything is wrong.


• On a 7-9, the hypnosis works, but choose one:

  • They realize you hypnotized them
  • They fuck up your commands
  • Their sanity is unhinged



Invited


You cannot enter a home without being invited. Whenever someone invites you, take a String on them.


The Hunger


You have a Hunger for (circle 1): flesh(blood), chaos, power, fear. When you heedlessly pursue a Hunger, add 1 to rolls. When you ignore a feeding opportunity, roll to hold steady
