BLACKJACK!
A bombard of stars streaked across the night sky. Though beautiful, they were equally dangerous. The large balls of fire descended down towards the earth, hammering a small wooden ship in the middle of the sea. Immediately, the night silence was replaced by the scent of burning wood and the cries of grown men.
"The ship's under attack!" One of the crew members yelled.
"W-what's attacking us?!"
"How are they bombarding us from the sea?!"
A myriad of questions erupted from the crew, and none were answered. Some men chose to dive into the waters, while others tried to put out the fires on the ship. Leo was amongst the crew. Unlike the crew, he was plated up in fine armor, standing near the captain. His heart began to beat rapidly.
"Captain, you have to get me safely to Renengrand!"
"Yah, you betcha I would, but the ship! She's burning!" The captain complained. Leo grabbed onto the captain's clothes, nearly pulling him off the ground.
"Must I remind you, Captain, that if I don't get to Renegrand then-"
A large fireball approached the two arguing men, consuming them in its vibrant glow.
---
Leo had awoken on the beach of an unknown island. The dark sky hovered over him, and only with passing time could his eyes adjust to the darkness. He sat up, staring out to the sea. A distant ship was set ablaze, lighting the horizon. His body was burnt- it hurt to move. The young man raised his hand over his head. "W-what...?" He had forgotten everything.
As if things couldn't get much worse, Leo turned to hear rustling from some shrubs behind him...
