Fantasy Monster Academy

"Really?!" Ira replied, letting her excitement get best of her. "Hah! I always knew I was talented! About time people realized that!" She laughed, grabbing her broom and bursting out the door. "What do you need help with, my apprentice?" She asked, smiling and riding Bentley.

"Magic, mine sucks. Every time I try to do a fire spell I somehow change it into a water spell," Angela says demonstrating by trying to make a fireball but to only make a water ball. "Why am I such a failure when magic is in my blood? I can't understand it and it pisses me the hell off."

"I just want to honor my fallen clan mates but I can't do something so simple as magic? So how am I suppose to honor them without using magic?" Ang asks as she sits down.

"Hmm... well..." Ira began, picking up her spell book. "I learned all my magic from my grandpa.... and this is his spell book. Here, look... this is a good fire spell." She let Angela hold the book and examine the page. It read:

"...all magic comes from within the soul, body, and mind. Our inner emotions and descriptions can manipulate the way we control and use this magic, making it essential that we maintain certain levels of emotion in order to control and channel this power into something useful.

With fire, can come anger, energy, and sometimes, even a calmness. Before creating anything, it is your job to have all these emotions present at once. Each deep inside yourself, your mind and soul, as you tear these dormant emotions to the surface. This task can be difficult, at first, but as you improve on this, you can summon emotions as quickly as you please.

Once you've done so, a surge of magic and energy will flow through you. In this state, it is very easy lose control of the spell, causing it to either backfire into you, or to spray fire everywhere, out of your control. It is very important to remind yourself that
you are in control. You are the one who made this magic, so you are the one to use it. It is common for beginners to lose control, so don't lose faith, simply keep trying.

Once you've got your emotions under control, place your hands next to one another, palms inward. From here, move all emotion, all anger, energy, and calmness, into the palms of your hand. This is one of the hardest stages for beginners, and also when your fire is most likely to get out of control. If you remain calm, and in control, there should be a fire ball in your hands within the next thirty seconds or so.

Aiming is another difficult area..."

Ira looked at Ang with a smile. "That ought to help!"

Angela does as the book says and a fire starts but starts going out of control so she calms herself but as soon as she does the fire switches to water. She drops it and gives a dissatisfied sigh. "You see every time I calm down from anger my fire switches to water and it is so frustrating. Does this just mean I'm a natural with water and can never hope to use fire? Everyone in my village excelled at using anything that can kill but I can't use fire? Why?" she says almost to tears.

Dante heaved himself up from his messy bed and walked over to the window, he looked bleary eyed at the view. It was not, exactly, the most exciting view he had ever seen, but it was adequate.

He put on his shoes and left the room, proceeding to walk down the dark hallway towards the room in which he could not get in before. He decided to try again, and knocked loudly on the door three times.

Ira looked at Ang, a worried expression. "Maybe you are just...better with water? I mean, water can fight, too! You can freeze it to make it sharp, right?" She asked, attempting to cheer Angela up.
There was then the loud knocks door.

Dante furrowed his brow and wiped his forehead, even though it was nicer in the dark hallway he still felt hot "oh god, am I at that stage all ready?" he thought to himself. He knocked again and said weakly "any one there?"

"Uhhh... yeah, just... hold on." Ira said, going the door and opening it for him.

(Sorry for one - liners)

Dantes' face showed pure fatigue. there large grey bags under his eyes, and they were glowing a much brighter shade than they normally did. His fangs had also grown to the length of a pinky finger, the points digging into his chin. These were all the signs of a lack of blood, for a vampire anyway. The background added to the mod of things, it was dark and damp, with cobwebs lining the corners of the hallway and a faint gushing sound produced by the wind was emanating from it. "Uhh, why can't I come in?"

Ira screamed and slammed the door in Dante 's face. "Get out of here, or else I'll have to throw you out like I did to Jay!" She yelled, taking her spell book from Angela and grabbing Bentley from wall.

Angela starts to shake. "What the hell do you want, bloodsucker?" she snarls out trying really hard to not attack him because she believes in fair fights and he is not at his best while she is.

Dante looked extremely offended "HEY WHAT THE HELL!?" he shouted through the doorway, his fangs bared, fists clenched and his nostrils flared in anger.

"You won't make a meal out of me! I'm more powerful than any vampire!" Ira yelled, fear beginning to take over, as she tried to seem stronger than she really was. It wasn't working.

With slow and easy steps, Adeline Rose began to walk into the Monster Academy. It seemed that other people had already arrived, and she flushed slightly in embarrassment for getting here so late.

"It's not my fault that stupid cab driver took so long..." The demon muttered angrily under her breath, slipping into the academy and looking around curiously at the dark hallway. Students of all sorts were here. Angels, demons, vampires, werewolves... Pretty much everything. Adeline picked a card out of her pocket, and studied the number of her dorm. Arching an eyebrow, she found her dorm in no time, and stepped inside. Sighing in relief, Adeline realized she had no one as a roommate.

Collapsing onto the plain white sheets, her heavy bags slipped out of her hands and fell to the floor with a clunk. The demon stared at the ceiling for a moment before getting up and leaving her dorm. She heard a bit of commotion coming down the hallway, and she began following the noise quietly. A boy screaming at a door came into view, along with what sounded like a girl behind the door itself. Adeline didn't know whether to involve herself or walk away from this situation.

"Hey! What's going on?" The pretty white haired girl with purple eyes called to the vampire, walking towards him steadily.

Dante took a moment to process what had been said to him, then, after those couple of seconds, he roared with laughter, clutching his stomach with his left hand and using his right to keep him from falling over, he almost tearing up, the dust flying everywhere and the ominous silence of the hallway pierced. "M-meal! HAHAHAHAHAH! What m-HAHA-m-makes you think that!"

Ira wouldn't stand for being so insulted. She threw the door open, and floated on her broom in such a way that she was eye-to-eye with Dante. "If you're not here to kill us off, then what the hell do you want?!" She yelled, patience thinning.

Angela walks out and pushes past Dante to see someone she didn't expect to see at all. "Adeline? Is that really you?" She asks. She meet Adeline while both where still young but she couldn't help get to attached to her and later found out that it was because she had a crush on the other girl. That freaked her parents out for a while but they grew to accept it

Struggling to retain his posture and a straight face Dante faced Ira. He wiped a tear from his eye and flicked it aside. he continued, still sniggering in between words "I wanted to know if you knew where I could get some blood from, but obviously *snigger* you've made your own assumptions *snigger*"

"Well... we're the only nearby people... er, things with blood, and..." Ira trailed off, getting confused with what exactly this guy's deal was.

Adeline turned as a familiar voice flooded her ears. The brightness of her purple eyes flicked towards a girl now standing in front of her, and a mischievous grin broke out on her face when she saw who it was.

"Angela! I didn't know you went to this academy!" She exclaimed, walking towards her and completely ignoring the situation with the witch and the vampire. Angela and Adeline met when they were just kids, and they were very close for a long time. But something caused them to separate, and Adeline never saw her again. Until now.

"It's been so long. My village was destroyed Ade, I thought I lost everyone that I knew," Angela says while hugging Adeline. She can still tell that she still harbors feelings for the girl. Before she can say anything else she passes out.

Adeline felt a feeling of sympathy hit her as Angela sped towards her, and wrapped her in a warm embrace. Smiling, the demon with the purple eyes hugged her back, preparing to say something comforting, until she felt Angela grow limp in her grasp. Widening her eyes slightly, Adeline caught her before she hit the floor. Picking her up, Adeline stared worriedly at the witch by the door.

"Hey! Where is Angela's dorm? She needs to rest." Adeline practically growled at the girl, a bit agitated as black fluid flooded into her eyes.

Dante readjusted himself in a mock eccentric manner. He brushed the dust off his hooded jacket, straightened his pose and rubbed his eyes. They illuminated the darkness to create a slightly creepy dim light source. "Do you possibly know anyone who is...let's say generous, you know, someone who might give up a little so I don't starve to death" a slight smirk spread across his face as he continued "or you know, double death."

"No! And don't think you're getting any of mine-" Ira yelled at Dante, though stopped when Adeline approached her, Ang in her arms. "Her dorm? A few doors down... why? Is she hurt? Can I use a healing spell on her??" Ira asked. She sounded excited, but it was really because she'd been wanting to practice healing spells for awhile now, and this was a great chance to do so.

Angela comes back to the land of conscious. "Oh god I'm so sorry Ade," Angela says while planning on what to say about passing out without revealing the truth which is that she has a dirty mind when it comes to Adeline now. The one thing that she hopes to keep secret for a long time.
