As the final fight went down- ah, well, he supposed it wasn't much of a fight to begin with-
Just the little monkey boy flying around and screaming trying to avoid the mortal deadliness of the guardians of knowledge's weapons. A bit of a brain melting scenario up until you came and saved his behind. For awhile, the spider demon simply found himself sitting and waiting in the rafters, simply relaxing until there was an opening for him to leave uninjured and unseen.
Syntax would have been amused if he wasn't straight up bored, just trying to avoid the chaos to sneak out himself. You amused him, the young hero's torment amused him- but everything else? Ugh, what a bore. His patience grew thin until the guardians finally cornered the both of you. He straight up winced, watching at they nearly bore the blades of their spears down into your skull, the force of their stop sending your petal pink hair flying. You really did look like a flower yourself with that color, he had to admit. Once you all were thoroughly distracted, he finally took his leave, finding it an easy trek back to the underground layer. He watched as Huntsman turned his nose up to the air, sniffing him out before he was even in sight. Ugh, he would have made a better dog demon than a spider at that point- but, he digresses.
"My Queen~" Syntax practically purred, slinking in the dark until he was close enough to the light of the mushrooms and rocks, colored between noxious greens and chilling baby blues. The group he'd left not long before rose their heads, having been in deep conversation, flittering about things he was sure he would catch up on. He'd bugged this and the city to high heaven. He wouldn't miss out on any piece of information for the world.
He extended his token prize, letting it's glow and cold silver speak his successes. The Spider Queen, who had once stood tense, shoulders up and mouth drawn in a frustrated frown; visibly relaxed. A sly smile slid across her violet lips, a deep compliment to her lavender skin. Huntsman's eyes peered at him with scrutiny, Strong looked on with wide curious eyes- his face a far-cry from his tank of a body. Then, the final being in the room- the mysterious girl.
She stood in front of them all, close but so far all at once. Her expression was stuck in a neutral smile, eyes lidded as she regarded him. The eye makeup smeared over her eyelids was sleek and sharp. It felt uncharacteristic for a girl her age, least he assumed she was young. He found himself looking at her more closely as she approached, her eyes only watching the artifact in his hands. He watched blue gleam within her hazy hazel irises. From within the waist of her belt, where she always kept her hands clasped tight and proper behind her back, she revealed a key. With it held up, she pressed it close to her chest.
A burst of magic breathed from it, and with it, a sort of seal, spinning in a slow myriad of changing runes and colors. The very air of it breathed with power, moving his hair and coat like a wind was let loose in the room where no wind should be possible.
She pulled it forward, extending it to the box.
Syntax watched it pure amazement, true awe, as it transformed to fit the lock that sat dormant. It turned on it's own, knowing it's purpose.
A click resounded. His eyes glimmered as blue light streaked in many hue's, expanding as the box came undone like a gift. It was so strange, so fascinating, feeling it's metal shift and reveal within his grasp. Before it shattered. The blue glow grew, and grew. The girl was unflinching, unyielding even as it tore at her hair and burned so bright it was like a star had appeared within the room. Syntax and the other spider demons moved to shield themselves and their eyes, pained by the brightness from being so attuned to the dark.
By the time it had lessened, an apparition had stood tall, guided in the middle by permanently rotating runes. The Spider Queen gasped.
"What... is this?" She murmured.
"A guide." The girl answered. "A pathway, to greatness."
She stood as she had before. Unbattered, unmoving, unbothered. Still and as rigid as a statue of ice. She gazed upwards, her hands behind her back as they always seemed to be.
"With this; you will build your revenge one piece at a time." She continued.
For a moment, it almost didn't feel like she was talking to the Spider Queen- but more so, herself. But none in the room seemed to catch that, too busy eyeing the absolute beast of a machine displayed overhead, towering over them like an omen.
"Five more items of power must be collected." She informed, tracing the runes with her eyes.
"And then?" The girl finally turned, regarding the Spider Queen.
Despite the excitement in her voice, something in her eyes was null and void. Dark.
"We shall forge your destiny."

I was back and forth between all the places I could be, and I had to admit, the trek around the city, multiple times, to and back on just my little mountain bike was pretty exhausting. The senior center one way, the shop and Sandy's boat the other, and then finally, Kitty Corner, to ensure Yin and Jin were well.
Funnily enough, Bolin and Sandy were unbothered and awake. It wasn't hard to inform them of the situation, and to warn them not to mess with any odd ads until it was all resolved. Sandy took my words to heart, and Bolin joined him, saluting like a solider to his captain. They were both more than happy to continue as they were as long as everyone was okay, to which I gave them frequent updates with every check I did, that everyone was in fact, okay.
By the end of it, I was tired. Yin and Jin were my clue that everyone was waking up after about the third round around the city, so after making sure they got some dinner in them and were on their way home, I went to check on the shop. My legs felt like Jell-O as I hopped off my bike, parking it in it's usual spot before I began to walk towards the door;
Barely getting past the shutter before a body practically tractor beamed onto me and stuck like a magnet. I hit the floor like a sack of potatoes with an alarmed yelp of indignity.
"Oh my everything-" I wheezed.
After hearing your voice, it was easy to pinpoint who the tractor beam magnet was; Mk.
That checks. The boy did love to tackle people, especially for hugs. The lover-boy comment was easily brushed off with the logic already in my head as you held out a hand and helped heave me up onto shaky feet. I almost thanked you, until you said, in clear English:
"Dude, MK totally has a crush on you."
I immediately guffawed, shoving you playfully.
"Oh hush up, he's just cuddly. You know this." I told you with a shake of my head.
Ah, crud- my face felt a little warm again.
Am I getting a fever or something? It's been happening like hot flashes, it's starting to drive me nuts.
I happened to glance at Mk as I grabbed a chair to sit in, finding him looking at me from over the fabric of his bunched up hood. His face was undeniably pink, and his eyes widened when he caught me looking back at him. He fumbled, flying into a fluster that I couldn't decipher before quickly jumping into a stool and spinning to face away from me, burying further into his coat. I rose an eyebrow, a little confused. Wait did he hear what you said? I thought he didn't know English yet- the thought made my face burn hotter, and I found myself quickly taking a seat at the other side of the restaurant where the tables were, rubbing the bridge of my nose to calm down the burning feeling.
Well whatever- I'd be embarrassed too if one of my friends started spouting I had a crush on someone, whether I did or not.
It was probably just that.
"Hey Pigsy, can we get some noodles?? I'm uh- really hungry-"
Mk called out, his voice a squeak at first before he cleared his throat, continuing on.
The old pig demon groaned, popping his back. He looked stiff as a board. I grimaced. I tried to put them all in comfier positions while they were out cold, but it would only help so much.
"Ah fine, fine- sure folks are gonna be hungry after that surprise nap all of us got. Might as well." He chimed.
Groggy cheers sounded around the restaurant from everyone. It sounded like a dream to get some fresh noodles after all of this.
To Tang especially- get noodles, surprise nap, and more noodles from his favorite pig demon in the whole wide world?
His eyes were glittering with stars and tears. He looked about ready to make a declaration of love right then and there if it wasn't for the four of us eye balling him. His face grew red, adn he quickly coughed into his fist.
"Man- wish Sandy was here with some of his, uh, good ol' tea, huh? I'm so parched, haha."
"Someone say my name?" Speak of the blue giant and he may appear.
"Wow, isn't that convenient." Tang suddenly spluttered as Sandy held open the shutter, letting Bolin walk in with an already brewed teakettle and some treats.
There was cat hair all over his clothes and in his joints, but he looked like he couldn't be happier.
"You guys up for some taste testing after all that napping? Bolin helped me learn some new recipes today!" Sandy beamed, proud as a guardian could be.
"Your little man sure learns quick, Evee." Sandy praised, looking down warmly at Bolin, before he turned to you.
Bolin had to dodge a grabby hand from Tang, beelining back around to you and Sandy. He wanted to share his hard work, sure, but he knew Tang and Mk would gobble it all up before anyone got a chance to test it. He squinted, shaking his head slowly at the scholar like a scolding parent. Tang spluttered, before waving his hand.
"I was only gonna take one! Honest!"
Bolin squinted harder. His metal eyebrow went up. Tang fidgeted.
"...okay maybe two- but there's plenty! so what's the big deal?!"
"Your appetite, that's what." Pigsy snorted from over the counter. Tang looked at him slack jawed, absolutely flabbergasted. "Wha!-"
Sandy let out a big belly laugh, "We'll hand em out one at a time then."
"That way everyone gets one." I agreed from the background, earning nods of approval from the big blue man and little bull boy. "Sounds fair to me." I chimed, giving a small smile.
"Oh fine," Tang huffed finally. "As long as I get one."
Distantly, under all the chatter, your phone dinged back.
