Theresa had insistently pulled her mother's hand toward the stall. Displayed on placards were a dozen ships-tropes, beautifully depicted in watercolours and acrylics. The girl's eyes immediately lit up. —Mommy, Mommy! I want those ships!
She had squeaked, all buzzing with excitement. In response, her mother sternly tugged her back to her side.
—But my love, we have them at home!

Don't get the wrong idea: I love them too, hell, I'm even crazy about some of them.
PrincessxKnight, MafiaxA, VampirexA, WerewolfxA, KidnapperxKidnapped, DivinityxHuman, StalkerxA, NerdxCool ect... These are the classic ships that have lasted for centuries. Even in the Mesozoic era, drawings of those ships made by long-armed dinosaurs have been found. You don't believe this bs? Well, you're right not to. Everyone knows that dinosaurs had arms too short to do that, but, listen to me, if they had, they definitely would have done it. You still don't believe me? Well... There are people who believe that the earth is round too: I can't enlighten everyone (I hope I was able to make you smile though
).
Whatever it is, I want to propose bizarre, strange, senseless but undoubtedly, at least I hope, original ships.
I don't expect a lot: but if you can find poetry and meanings in this absurdity, making the roleplay sometimes serious and deep, congratulations, you and I would be the next ships I'll add.

Mesozoic, one week to the Chicxulub impact. Distance is not just made up of kilometers but also of a few centimeters. Short-armed Dinosaur knows it well: he cannot embrace his beloved, much less declare his throbbing love. All dinosaurs have long arms except him: he seems to be the only one of his kind. A suffering aggravated by the dino-bullying and by the desperation of seeing the most beautiful Dino-girl of the Jurassic taken away from him. But he doesn't know that she loves him: the puzzle of love needs two different pieces to be completed. Short arms and long arms: both made to reach each other.

Vatican, 1550. The flat-earth theorist was thrown into crisis when the round-earth theorist tried to prove his case. After years of rivalry, one of the two finally seems to emerge victorious: but a third imposes himself by proposing another theory that the Pope seems to approve of, despite the evidence against it. According to this new theorist, the earth is made of cheese: indeed, the very center of it. How else to explain the production of milk? The flat-earth and round-earth theorists are shocked by such nonsense and decide to team up: both of them set out to reach the centre of the earth or in the search for evidence to the contrary. Will it be the beginning not only of a collaboration but of something deeper? A love that will be very cheesy.

Ancient Greece, 97BC. He has performed wonders that no one expected: neither men nor the gods themselves whom he dethroned. Now, sitting on a golden throne, served and revered like an emperor, he must deal with those who do not believe in his legitimacy or greatness: indeed, he has to deal with those who don't even believe in his very existence. It matters little whether he divides the waters of Egypt in two or makes bread into a fleet of fish, the pagan/atheist refuses to give him credence. Exasperated, the God goes into a rage, destroys everything and everyone, especially and inadvertently the most loyal and faithful ones!, just to demonstrate his greatness: nothing. Reduced to being the only two survivors, the God finally gives up. It's time to kill the human, to repopulate the earth or go grow turnips with the pagan/atheist, in a peaceful life without gods and wars.

America, present day. Sold or not, he will always return to the shop, putting himself back on the shelf to admire his damsel. She alone, after all, so lovingly removed the dust, arranged it as best she could, and spoke to him of her joys and sorrows, her dreams as a dancer. Again, who better than him could ever know her? And when those neighborhood gangs, those small-time criminals, break into the shop, he doesn't back down: hard walnut shells, hot peppers, tortillas hurled at the invaders.

After going around apartment buildings, stairways, restaurants, pizzerias and clubs, you arrive at one last place: and here, when you go out, after finishing the hard work, you always find that bum. Too bad it's really cold that evening, winter is starting to make itself felt. The man, in rags, impassive and silent, always looking at the ground, makes you feel sorry. You search in the garbage bag and fish out the still-full beer found at the bar. Then, you sit down next to him. Thus begins your friendship, your love for life.

America, present days. It's the creation you hate the most in these ten years of work as a writer but they forced you to finish the story. You already have the tragic yet satisfying ending in mind for the character. But this one shows up at your door, in flesh and bones, holding flowers and chocolates. When he speaks, as if you didn't already feel faint, he tells you how madly, perversely he loves what you make him do — and how he loves YOU. You begin to suspect that he is a sick fan who discovered some leaks but it really is your character: moreover, masochistic and totally crazy. Maybe you were too heavy-handed with the misfortunes you heaped on him and those are the results.
