MOEP: Lunars and Survival

Maybe this does not belong here, move it if it does.

Something that bothers me, while reading MOEP: Lunars, is that while they have, undoubtedly, the absolute superlative tracking Charm- Blood on the Wind = "Trackless Step? What's that? I can still follow you, Sun King.", they appear to lack a similar Charm to hide said tracks.

While I understand part of the reasoning here- the Stewards, for a large part, should be doing the tracking; plus there's those ever-so-convenient Wits charms that start with Spider's Trap Door- it does seem to be a rather large hole in the Steward's arsenal; especially as even Terrestrials get a Charm that emulates Trackless Step- and worse, a Wyld Hunt with anything like a decent Wood Aspect can find them, no matter what.

Superior survivalists, indeed.

Is there already a charm built for this in MOEP: Lunars, and I'm not spotting it? Or in another book? It just seems to be a humongous hole in the Lunar Charm arsenal.

Well, Clover Can't Be Found makes it so people looking specifically for you can't find you...which if they're actively tracking you, seems rather likely...

Hm! I suppose it could be seen in that manner. I had been thinking of it more in terms of direct pursuit, as One of the Herd seems to work best with large crowds, as in

<Seven Devils Clever> "I'm going to lose the DBs in the streets of Nexus. With One of the Herd, I lose most of my distinctive appearance- at least to them."

<ST> Okay. Throw down the motes. *ST rolls the appropos selection, does Abysmally* Ok, Dexterity + Stealth to lose them.

<SDC> *Rolls 5 successes.* Five. Plus my three from Essence, sets it at eight.

SDC gets away... But the Charm certainly wouldn't work on an empty plain in such a manner.

Actually, looking at it again, it looks like it specifically states you can't be discerned from your interactions with the world. Which, looked at with a more 'let's take this to its logical conclusion' way, does sound like you can't be tracked- as tracks/signs/whatever would be one of said 'interactions'.

Hole filled, I guess, though it seems a little broad of an interpretation for a Charm somehow. :?

Of course that is the way of Lunar Charms- versatility turns to victory. Thank you!

Or you just turn into a mole and piss off underground. Problem solved.

Edit: Or fly - that doesn't really leave tracks. The way I see it, Lunars have so many options for hiding and being discreet by using shapeshifting that there has never really been any need for one to make a charm to hide their tracks.

It's sort of like how they don't have any real stealth charms (bar a few nice additions in Glories: Luna.)

The thing is, you don't even need one of the kind of forms I mentioned above either. Most lunars will have a form that can fly, but ultimately if you need to hide from trackers, just take the form of one sort of the local wildlife. Even if its something that runs across the ground, sure it will leave tracks - but they won't be any different from the tracks of any other examples of the species. The trackers will be able to follow the trail sure, but they won't be able to distinguish between your trail and a natural animals. When told "your enemy has taken the form of a deer" and you're confronted with the tracks of 30 different deer leading in different directions, you need to be damn lucky to pick the right one first time.

The Spider's Trap Door is specifically designed to hide stuff. Covering your tracks falls under its purview. That would seem to force a power roll-off against perfect tracking Charms.
