MoD RP (madlyhazel)

Elise watched as girls rushed forth to take her to the tent. Well, that was awfully nice of them, wanting to help and all. All the same, she still did feel slightly bad about deciding to leave. She just didn't know if she'd be able to take it here, considering all of the weird happenings. Pigs and chickens were more up her alley, while injured and possibly dead people weren't so much.

She looked up at Faeran as he questioned her, and she offered a nod. "Yeah. I just hope the soldier is alive." With that, she turned toward the medic, attempting to offer a smile. It came off less enthusiastic than she had hoped, and she quickly gave up on it. "Just lead me to the general," she stated, "Then I'll be outta your hair for good."

"Sure thing," the medic crooned, beaming. Most of her attention was set on Faeran though, who was itching to leave and take care of the situation Elise had reported. With Elise's permission, the huge man finally felt it was an appropriate time to leave. With a nod of his head to excuse himself, he left in a jog, boots pounding across the earth with every step, before he disappeared past a tent corner.

The medic looked disappointed that he didn't stay long or even grant her a bit of praise, but what could she do? She had a job to do this time. Plastering on her best bedside-manner smile, the medic girl turned to her new companion and waved her over. "Let's go?" she said cheerily, gesturing in the general direction of their destination.

Elise gave a curt nod and began walking along. To be honest, she was a little bit upset at her decision. Being somewhere else brought new adventures. She'd been a little sick of living at the Mister's house, considering it was the same thing every single day. However, this place wasn't the kind of adventure she'd been looking for. It was too shocking and too quick, and she wasn't sure if she could quite take it.

Turning to look at the medic, she attempted to start a conversation. Of course, she completely disregarded the fact that the medic probably wasn't too interested in talking. "What was it like for you when you first came here?" she began, "I mean, were you scared? You deal with a lot of blood and bones. People probably die, huh?" She gave a small huff, turning her attention forward. "I don't know if I could deal with someone dying. Seems pretty bad."

Elise was right. Despite her smiles and cheery demeanor, the medic wasn't interested in talking. But fortunately for Elise, it was a topic she was interested in, so she humored her.

"Oh, it's not so bad. You get used to it," she said airily, as if open wounds, missing limbs, and dying people were no big deal. "You have to help people, right? You can't do that if you get scared. Everyone just learns to get over it."

She suddenly let out a dreamy sigh, clasping her hands on her chest. "Besides, we have Faeran on the medic team! He makes everything worth it!"

Elise cocked her eyebrow at the way the medic mentioned Faeran. What was so great at him? He was just fairly burly, and men never brought anything good with them. She offered a small snort in return. "He's just a medic like you guys, even if he has magic or whatever. I don't see what's the big deal."

She supposed it was just a manner of him being a guy in the girls world. She was sure that if another male medic worked there, all the girls would be the same. It was the same in the village. A noble would ride through and all the girls would try to get married to him. Alright, maybe it wasn't the same thing.

The medic gasped like she'd be struck across the face. She turned to stare at Elise, mouth agape, and saw only her disinterested, unaffected expression. She gasped again. "You don't understand," she cried, slowing her gait so she could latch onto Elise's arm. "He's, like, the nicest guy here! He's always thinking about you, about your health, about your feelings, and he's always there to do what he can to help, no matter who you are! He's like... like... a prince! Especially if you compare him to the other magicians! All the magicians are kind of jerks, but they're easy on the eyes, too, so they're not all that bad..."

Elise stared at the medic, stiffening a bit as she latched onto her arm. This girl was pretty nuts, wasn't she? He didn't seem that nice. When she saw him, he just probably wanted to get everything done as it needed to be and be finished. She rolled her eyes. "He's probably just being nice. And princes aren't that nice. They're rich."

She tried to tug the girl along, but she seemed to be surprisingly strong. She supposed that's what you got for being in the army. "We magicians aren't that mean, you know. It's you guys that usually are." She tugged once more. "Can we get going, please?"

For the third time, the medic gasped, though this time it was in offense rather than surprise. What lies she spouted! What did this civilian in boring, unstylish clothes know about the charms of handsome, princely men? The medic was sure the girl was wrong-- wrong about Faeran, wrong about princes, wrong about her perception of magicians. And what did she mean by 'we' magicians anyway? It was obvious to the medic that this girl was deluded somehow.

She dropped her grip on Elise, turned her nose to the air, and marched forward without looking back. She was definitely not going to talk to her again, no matter what else she'd say.

It didn't take long for them to reach the general's office, with the medic walking so fast in a passive-aggressive attempt to punish Elise for her scandalous words. As soon as it came into view, the medic lifted a hand and pointed. "There's General Tiberus' tent," she said with a 'harumph', still keeping her nose up in the air. "You're welcome."

Elise frowned at the girls actions, but she decided to let it go for now. She could probably pick a good fight with her later the longer it simmered. What did she know about princes? She probably never lived as a real peasant. Princes and kings hardly cared about those people, and therefore they were hardly good people. She gave a glare as the girl walked off before stepping into the tent.

Of course, she was immediately intimidated. She forgot how out of place she felt in here. She stood rigid and turned her eyes to the ground, not even bothering to look up. "I need to transfer out, sir!" she quickly exclaimed, perhaps a little to loudly for this setting, "I can't be a soldier!"

General Tiberus' head jerked up from the complaint that he was reading-- something about one of the magicians dragging unconscious soldiers around-- his eyes wide with surprise. He hadn't noticed anyone enter his tent, and the intensity of the voice startled him. He regained composure quickly when he noticed it was just the new magician that was in his tent earlier. At her words, however, his brows furrowed.

"No," he said. Then he repeated it again just in case the magician didn't understand. "No, you may not transfer."

He set his quill down onto the table and looked at her calmly but expectantly. He expected her to leave the tent and keep working on the task he had assigned, but she was probably going to want to argue. Either way, he prepared himself for both scenarios.

Elise's mouth gaped at his simple answer, and she quickly rushed up to him. She ignored all formalities with authority and moved to place her hands on his desk. "I can't be here! I'm not a good soldier!" she cried out, "I'll probably get somebody hurt!"

Her hands fisted on the wood, and she glanced over the general's huge face. "There's probably other magicians. I'm not meant for here, you know. I'm a farmer. I deal with cows, not hurt people."

General Tiberus' face contorted into a look of annoyance by Elise's blatant disregard for his personal space and apparent lack of respect for authority. He held his ground, however, keeping himself still despite her getting right in his face and holding her pleading gaze with his own unaffected stare. If she moved even an inch more and knocked over his carefully ordered stack of papers, though, he didn't know what he was going to do.

"Get off my desk," he said sternly. "You have two options. One, you work in the medic tent as a healer; or two, you fight in the frontlines as a magician to destroy enemy soldiers. You have no other say regarding this matter."

Elise stared at him for a few more solid moments before slowly pulling back. This was entirely unfair. She was certain if some soldier had come in here they would've been allowed to go. Instead, here she was, stuck somewhere she didn't want to be with this irritating person. She gave a long groan and paced back in forth, trying to make him see just how upset she was. She wanted to make him feel guilty.

"Fine," she gritted out, stomping out of the tent. She didn't walk very far from the tent however, and she quickly plopped down in the dirt and placed her hands over her face. From there, she yelled into them. She wanted everyone to know just how mad she was about thus whole situation. They deserved to know that everything was going wrong for her at this moment. To sum it all up, she was pissed.

Walking down the clearing in front of the general's tent was a young man with long red hair tied back in a thin ponytail, swinging a single arrow between his fingers. He was heading to the medic tent to go meet his brother when he spotted a girl emerging from the general's tent. For a second, he thought he'd recognized her and he slowed down his pace in order to get a good look at her.

Her next actions surprised him. She squatted down onto the ground and started screaming into her hands. Soldiers in the area couldn't help but toss the poor girl concerned looks. Judging by the loudness of her muffled shrieking, he figured she might have been denied something. He resumed his pace until he was finally in front of her, where he halted in his tracks.

"Not a good day, eh?" Yue asked, unable to hide the smirk on his face. He wasn't interested in the least with the girl's problems, but it amused him to see someone outright display their displeasure with the general. "You might want to tone it down; he might come out and deport you!"

Elise slowly pulled her hands down from her face to look at the man who came over to her. She hadn't exactly been expecting to be approached by anyone, but she should have guessed it with the sort of outrage she was displaying. At his final words, she gave a small snort. "Guess I should be louder then, huh? I want to get out of here."

Despite her words, she merely leaned back on her hands, glaring into the background beyond the man in front of her. She wished that the general would just let her go. He probably knew that she was completely useless here. He was only forcing her to stay because she was a magician. She gave a groan of disdain and shook her head. She should have completely avoided coming here. The draft didn't even apply to her, so she should have fled when she had the chance.

"Oh right. Conscription is still going on," Yue hummed. He wondered when that was ever going to end. The army had already made two passes around the country and it seemed like they kept wanting more soldiers to supply their armies. Then again, wasn't the army looking for men, not women? Unless this girl happened to be some fancy super medic, he couldn't understand why the general wouldn't let her go home. Her clothes made him doubt she was anyone famous, so what was she? Maybe that new magician?

Yue let his hands rest on his head, kicking absentmindedly at the dirt with his boot. "You could injure yourself," he suggested casually. "If you cut off a leg or an arm, he'll have no choice but to send you home. We've got a great medic team; you probably won't die from it if you injure yourself by the med tents."

He was rather grim, wasn't he? Then again, Elise supposed she was as well. She gave a light shrug, lips creasing downward even further. "I kind of want to keep my arms and legs. I need them, for work and stuff." Then again, if she didn't have arms or legs, she wouldn't have to fight, she wouldn't have to work, she wouldn't have to do anything. She could probably forget about this whole magic business too. Maybe that would be a better life for her, even if the magic was a little fun. She could finally rally up a little freedom for herself. Still, no limbs? Doesn't seem like a terribly fun life.

She turned her eyes back up to him, giving him a once over. She was only taking note of it now, but he was wearing a pretty different outfit compared to the rest of the soldiers, and he also held an arrow in his hand. She narrowed her eyes in thought. "Who're you, anyways? Some archer? You're not wearing a uniform." Neither was she, of course, but she had reason. She hadn't even received one yet, if she was ever supposed to wear one.

He suddenly felt a compulsion to shield his body with his arms. Most people that started mentioning his clothes first usually ended up pointing out the lewdness of it all, being so tight on his body, but it's not like he had any choice on the matter. "It's my uniform," he said huffily, masking his embarrassment with irritation. He held his head high and stood as proudly as he could, hands on his hips and feet square on the ground. "I cast wind magic. I need special clothes or I'll end up going around naked if I use my magic."

He jutted a finger down at the girl, eyebrows furrowed. "And you? What are you supposed to be? There's no way the general would keep a civilian around. You some kind of prisoner?"

(Yue my child it's okay)

Elise raised her eyebrows at him for a moment, until he mentioned that he was able to use magic. Her eyes widened considerably and her eyebrows shot up. There were definitely a lot more magicians here than she had expected! She had already met two in one day, and that was surprising. She hadn't expected to even see them, considering just the mere vastness of the camp. As he remarked on her clothes, she gave a small huff. He had no say, considering his getup was pretty weird. It didn't matter if it was for wind magic--it was still weird.

"I'm a magician too," she stated matter of factly, "I'm no prisoner. I may not know my magic yet, but I'm not some sort of, of," she tried to rally the word, rotating her hand for a moment, "of convict. I can do just as much as you can." She moved to stand up, sizing herself up to him in the process. He wasn't terribly tall, and fairly skinny too. If he got too prickly with her, she could probably easily take him down.

(lol everyone's getting offended ^q^)

Yue couldn't help the surprise on his face on hearing this girl was a magician, though he did his best to wipe it off and play it off as something he already knew. There had been rumors circulating around camp about a new magician, though to be perfectly honest, he had no idea what kind of magician she was. As soon as the girl started challenging him, though, he felt the flame of his competitive spirit burning inside him. Who did she think she was, saying things like she could be better than him?

Just as he was about to brag about something along the lines of eating other magicians for breakfast, a thought lit up in his head. "Wait a second," he said. "You're trying to get out of here even though you know you're a magician."

He suddenly erupted in a fit of giggles. "Wait, wait, wait! Is that right? You're trying to go home but you're a magician? What, did you think the general was going to send you home in a white carriage full of gold, too?"

Elise felt a glare erupt on her face, and she proceeded to grit her teeth. He didn't need to laugh! She understood that it was silly from went she went to talk to the general, and she didn't need Skin-Tight over here poking at the wound. She gave a small growl. "I don't want to be here! They think I can just go and heal and fight or whatever, but there's no way! I'm a farmer, and I haven't known my magic for long. I'm not doing whatever they want me to!"

She really didn't like this character all that much. He was offensive, and she wasn't enjoying herself in the least. Her red face tightened, and she tightened her fists at her side. "If you have anything else to say, you're not going to like what follows. It ain't going to end well, I can tell you that much." Maybe picking a fight on her first day wasn't good, especially with a magician. However, she was getting pretty upset.

Yue was doubled over, doing his best to stifle his laughter while the new girl was speaking. As much as he tried to contain himself, her general demeanor and her eventual threat made him grin with glee. This girl was going to be a fun one to have at camp. He didn't know anything about this girl, but he was sure that if she ever got her wish to return home, he'd be sad to see her go. "Oh, relax," Yue said, still grinning ear-to-ear. "It was stupid, but at least you could say you tried!"

He stood up straight, a hand on his aching stomach. "You're free not to do anything. General Tiberus doesn't keep watch on the magicians and as long as you don't make yourself known to the magician officers, it might be a while before anyone finds out about you," he said, dipping his shoulder into a small shrug. "As long as you stay in camp, there won't be any trouble."

He wanted to help her, even a little bit. Half the magicians didn't even do anything unless other people nagged them enough to do it. Besides, it would've been absolutely marvelous for the wind magician if he got to see the everyone's reactions when they realized they've had a new magician for a few months already.

"You might run into some trouble if you disobey direct orders from the general, though. He'll sic magicians on you if you trouble him enough." Yue looked her up and down, a smirk on his face. "It might be difficult for you. Us magicians here flex our magic daily. Your untrained ass wouldn't stand a chance!"

Elise continued to watch him, with definite hints of malice trickling into her gaze. She didn't much like this man, but she supposed she would have to deal with him for the time being. He knew a lot more about this camp than she did, so perhaps it would be best to avoid picking fights with him. She folded her arms and glanced away, scuffing up a bit of dirt with her sandal. "I just don't want to fight. That's not what I do. So the general can forget about that."

She certainly wasn't a pacifist, of course. She knew about what the enemy had been doing. She'd seen destroyed villages and orphaned children. She just didn't want to die. That was a scary prospect, and she'd like to avoid it as much as possible. As he went on about the magicians being able to easily beat her down, she swiveled her head back to him.

"Don't be so sure about that," she barked out, "I can hold my own. I may have never fought, but I can still do plenty. You better watch yourself." He thought he was on such a high pedestal because he was able to do magic. She was certain that she was better than him in many aspects.

"Then you'd better hope he doesn't send you out to any battles," Yue laughed. It was such a silly thing to him. A magician not using their powers to kill anyone? Magic was only good for killing and hurting others. That's why they were put in the army to begin with, after all. Then again, magic was the only thing that ever mattered to the young man. His entire role and meaning in existence was to act as the Royal Army's weapon of destruction. The girl might still be under the illusion that she was a simple farmgirl, but she'd learn soon enough about her true purpose for having these powers.

"You're cute," Yue chuckled when the girl snapped at him. Casually, he swung the arrow in his hand again, twirling it in wide circles. "We can be friends! I'm Yue. If you need anything, just ask around for me."

Elise gave a snort and rolled her eyes. This guy was absurd. Of course the general wouldn't send her into any battles. She would pretend to be as inept as possible and hope to avoid any sort of confrontation. She would stay completely safe and have no issues whatsoever. It would be the perfect plan.

However, when he went onto calling her cute and remarking how they could be friends, she stuttered. Her eyes widened and her cheeks turned red, and she looked at him as if he'd grown another head. A much more reasonable head than the one that was talking. "Why would I want to be friends with you?" she cried out, "You've been bullying me the whole time I've been talking to you! There's no way I want to be your friend!" She scowled at him and shook her head. This guy was ridiculous. "That's a stupid name anyways. Don't want to be friends with someone who has a dumb name."
